Lounge Bar, Red Lion Hotel in Moray

We took a group of 10 German visitors plus friends for the £10 lunch deal. We had given our menu choices in advance, but with such a wide range of choices it took a while to work out who had ordered what. However, it got sorted, the sandwiches were excellent and everyone was very satisfied with their choice. The staff was attentive and, since we were given the dining area all to ourselves, the atmosphere was quite intimate.

Booked for lunch based on previous reviews and was not disappointed. My husband and I had roast beef Sunday lunch and it was delicious. Staff we warm and friendly. Lovely bar where you can easily while away an afternoon. Well done

Phoned to confirm a last minute booking on a Saturday night and we were accommodated without difficulty. Politely quizzed about allergies on the phone. Pleasant surroundings in the lounge bar area and friendly welcoming staff. Table in a neuk (a smaller space off the main dining area) opposite the entrance to the bar. Good food. Servers attentive, hospitable and chatty. Wonderful streak and Guinness pie with vegetables and scrumptious sticky toffee pudding. Most unexpectedly and welcomed, the option to order alcohol-free Estella lager on draught! Paradise! Our server took the order efficiently and asked about allergies. I stressed that the burger for the teenager should contain only cheese along with onion rings and this was confirmed by the server. Chef thought otherwise. The burger went back to be served as ordered. Corrective measures executed speedily and the teenager thought the burger very tasty. A deviation from the menu was accepted by the server but ignored by the chef. Communication needs to be improved. The customer knows best because the customer is paying for the service.

Small quaint restaurant with huge flavor. All of us ordered different entrees and they were all outstanding! Cocktails were perfect the best lemon drop I've ever had! Delicious scotch pie with mash potatoes covered with gravy we are going back again tonight can't get enough .. Incredible!

On a very recent fishing trip ate there twice. F&C's the first time, nice but nothing special. The second time had the pasta carbonara with chicken - wow that was. the best carbonara I have had in a very long time. Really nice place to eat and drink, a little pricy but on the whole worth it.

I went with some friends for the first time for a meal and had a table booked which was in the bar. The food was lovely, but the place was FREEZING, you could see the steam coming off the food… some people were sat in their coats eating their meal. One couple said to themselves out loud they wouldn’t go back as it’s too cold to appreciate their food. The fire was burning away but no heat was felt from it… you need to get one those fire fans to help with circulating heat around the room… it was never that cold when it was the ‘red lion’…

Will definitely be back. Great service and atmosphere too. Also great portion sizes but the chocolate fudge cake could always be bigger ;)

The Beastie is a lovely place to have lunch now it has been done up. Roaring fire, lovely art work and helpful staff. Food was nice too!!

La gran noticia de que la Red Beastie ha revisado es propia del gris pasado con una renovación decente.El bar del salón ahora es acogedora y algo hasta la fecha. El marque Cask (cerveza (aunque siempre bien cuidado) es excelente y bien producen, y aunque yo no comer el menú parecía tentadora. El personal era muy amable y servicial. Este tipo de Forres pub es justo lo que necesita. Espero con ansia ver a este pub en la guía de la cerveza CAMRA esperábamos impacientes pronto.

familia de hacia el sur, intentamos reservar en el Mosset pero estaba lleno, así que decidimos hacer una recomendación de otro amigo de la familia y encantados de haberlo hecho. Optamos por el menú navideño de almuerzo que era de calidad superior ... salmón ahumado, sopa y opciones patés eran excelentes. Entre nosotros teníamos la cena y Turquía bistec tarta platos nuevo excelente, caliente y casero. El miembro del personal que era preciosa y disculparse que estaban cortos de personal no habría molestado, todo fue bien y sin falla así que me quito el sombrero ante ellos. hacia el final de la comida local folk music comenzó, y el lugar tenía un gran ambiente ... mi única queja ... esperar tanto tiempo para visitar aquí!

Sólo tenía carne asada y budín de Yorkshire. bajó lugares en cualquier lugar más sin reserva o llenan con folk. una preciosa chimenea y una verdadera pinta.La carne estaba muy bien preparado, número de Yorkies demasiado. Patacas Chirivías, zanahorias, tatties asado de cebolla roja y un asado servido con una rica salsa encantadora. El único problema fue la comida que se sirve en una bandeja madera.

Just been for a Christmas lunch at the Beastie, just the most beautiful christmas lunch I have ever had, everything was just perfect, food is always good here, but they surpassed themselves today :) Booked again for two weeks time! Great price too.

Good food, but somewhat disorganised. Staff need training in service. Little bit pricey for what is basically pub grub.

The Red Beastie was such great value and delicious always tastes of tasty fresh produce the soup is home made and there are lunch meal deals of soup and a sandwich value for money

this is a very good place to go for real ale, pleasant lunch, nice people - and it is just by the high street

este lugar fue una vez una leyenda pero la RAF se retiraron y la base al cliente no es allí, pero es un lugar agradable en Forres, justo por el excelente museo Falconer, justo al lado de la High Street. siempre tenemos una tostada (que viene con una ensalada maravillosa) y una cerveza y no se puede quejar por precio, calidad y el buen servicio del personal local encantador. Es realmente bueno.

Recientemente visité el Red Lion para algunos refrescos con mi audiencia perros para sordos y nos encontramos con una sonrisa muy amigable del personal del bar, especialmente Brenda. eran muy complacientes respecto a mi audiencia perro y le dieron un recipiente de agua y un regalo o dos. Tenía unos juegos de piscina. Sin duda recomiendo una visita o dos a este encantador establecimiento. Sue y Gerry

overpriced in every way with staff more interested in playing dominoes than serving and with the most disgusting toilets that i have ever seen in the civilised world

Food is great, service is very quick, staff very helpful & friendly. Customers are suppose to order at bar but because I was with other disabled people they came to my table for my order. As it was a Friday I got the winter special. Food is usually sandwichs, toasties, jacket tatties, soup, panninis, tortilla wraps etc. would recommend a visit next time in town.

My Wife friend and I had a nice couple of night out there in our recent visit to Forres especially (Brenda and Claire)

we go every saturday for lunch. Lovely homemade soup with a choice. Friendly staff. They have a good selection of sandwiches/toasties/salads/burgers/baked potato and on fri/sat main meals such as chilli, pasta or mince

Very tired and old small time pub. It's nearly always completely empty. Only good if you're looking to get away from the crowds.
