We had an extremely disappointing experience at the restaurant of this hotel. Upon arriving, we were met with a shockingly rude and unwelcoming attitude from the lady behind the bar. Despite the hotel advertising takeaway options online, she dismissively told us to go elsewhere if we wanted takeaway food. Her tone was condescending and unnecessarily hostile, even though the restaurant was completely empty. Thankfully, there was a lovely younger English waitress who went out of her way to accommodate our dietary needs, offering to prepare a chicken salad that met our allergy requirements for takeaway. However, just as we thought the situation was being resolved, the rude lady came along stating that they could not accommodate us and insisted we go across the road. It felt as though she was deliberately making the process difficult and seemed more interested in turning us away than providing good service. The way she spoke to us was completely unprofessional & condescending. The experience left a sour taste, not because of the food, but because of the complete lack of professionalism and respect. We expected much more from a hotel restaurant, and sadly, this encounter really let the place down. I would not recommend anybody to eat here and it completely spoilt our last night on our family holiday.

We visited the pub for food and drinks. We stopped in on our canoeing trip. A group of six adults, four children. We were cold, wet and tired. Tommy and Janine gave us the warmest welcome and were so accommodating of our many questions and requests. The fish and chips cooked up by the chef were crispy and excellent. Highly recommend!

Returned for a meal with my wife. The attendant , "Alan" sorted us with a table and even read out the daily specials board as I was too lazy to get up. We selected a few dishes from a very reasonably priced menu and ordered some drinks. I have to say the food was excellent, I had " sizzling chicken frajitas" , and you could hear them sizzling as they left the kitchen, huge portion, and my better half had the stornoway black pudding burger , again huge and both dishes as tasty as tasty can be. All this, complete with a cheeky wee curly fries and pepper sauce . Washed down with some wine and a pint. This bistro/ bar/restaurant and it's staff and food /drink are a credit to the owner, Mr Dale "reilly" Monk. Alan our server and the other staff go that extra mile every time we visit and that is why it's the best in the West. 10/10

Booked lunch in the restaurant and let the person on the phone know we would be having a guest in a wheelchair. When we arrived we were shown to the table where a chair had already been removed. I know this probably doesnât seem like a big deal but itâs little things like this that make people with disabilities feel almost less disabled in a way, and it was greatly appreciated. The food was decent for a lunch. I tend to find places with a captive market, especially anywhere along the A82, can either be awful or brilliant. The Kingshouse gently leans towards brilliant but only just. The venison burger was substantial, but can we please have plates? Navigating a wooden chopping board on a narrow table with glasses and tablewear is a little difficult. In terms of the service it was just simply fantastic. The Australian manager was so friendly and, based on our experience, an absolute asset to the business. His professionalism, attentiveness, and service was worth the trip alone. If this gets back to him - thank you.

If paying ÂŁ5 for half cooked frozen chips and ÂŁ3 for gravy as thin as Bovril is your thing, then this is place for you. I pass here regularly on bike rides, first time I've stopped in.... It'll be the last. I have to say I found the staff pleasant.

This place has a great kitchen which also serves "The Gathering". The food was excellent and was promptly prepared and served. No waiting for desiccation under a warming lamp. The same can be said for the breakfast. Great variety and nice quantity so you weren't left wondering about value as you might in some restaurants serving "pretty food" and a "pretty price".

9 of us staying next door at Premier Inn paid for breakfast . Scrambled eggs, never seen them so watery and near white in colour taste disgusting đ. Fried eggs warm and rock hard. Sausages good bacon not great . Berry fruit lovely coffee OK. Not worth the ÂŁ9.95 better off in Morrisons across the road. Evening meal worse service very poor chicken dry and uneatable left most of my food and so did others in my party.

Dont be put off my first impressions of this hotel. The hotel is under new ownership and are refurbishing the hotel. The rooms are lovely and modern with wide screen TV . There are four rooms and i belive to be 5 eventually. The position is stunning right by the water and if you lucky you can see dolphins, seals and otters. we spent the evening watching the sailing boats going past and the small ferry which runs hourly and the amazing sunset. The new owners are lovely and go out of there way to make you feel welcome. We will go back for sure .. thank you for the perfect stay

We arrived at the hotel early evening from a day out and didnât want to try and find somewhere local to eat. The restaurant wasnât particularly busy and I wonder how much business these attached restaurants have lost since Premier Inn took over the running. When we arrived there were two members of staff working the bar - one serving and the other one sorting out a refund - perhaps we should have seen that as a warning. We were shown to our table and told that we needed to order at the bar. Menu is varied as you would expect from this type of eatery. We ordered two lasagnas and a side of chili beef loaded for fries and a bottle of wine. The staff taking the order couldnât grasp the menu when I asked for the âgo largeâ for the chips and kept saying I was ordering 2 portions - no itâs one portion just large. I paid for the main meal as wasnât sure if a dessert was needed. Quite a wait for the food to arrive, considering it wasnât busy at all. Lasagnas were as you would expect, basic. However the chips were the strangest and I think the chef was confused as we had breaded chicken included with the chili beef loaded - you could have loaded chips with katsu chicken but we got a mixture of both - not the nicest. I went back to the bar to order dessert.which was taken by the person who checked us into the hotel. After 20 mins I went back to check on the dessert and was told âoh do you want me to make those now?â. No I ordered them 20 minutes ago - âdid you tell us you were ready for themâ - no I didnât order them at the same time as the main so why would I think I needed to tell you. Strangest ordering system ever and if you are operating this way then at least tell your guests this is the procedure. I asked for a refund and even though I paid for the two desserts together they had to be refunded separately. The members of staff on couldnât cope with serving at the bar, arranging refunds and acknowledging guests waiting to be seated. I think Premier Inn should stick to what they do best and leave the hospitality to the experts, certainly wonât be eating there again.
