The best restaurants serving British food in Fort William and Ardnamurchan Highland Highlands and Islands

We had a lovely dinner on our first night in Glencoe. The service was warm and friendly and the bartender came and walked my husband through the best way to taste scotch. The food was delicious. We had fish & chips, the venison and the lamb shank, all of which were very well prepared.

Very good food, decent price and everyone cleared their plates , we will definately return in the summer when we can enjoy the views

A good cup of coffee in an eclectic former church turned climbing centre! Service was friendly. Would return if in the area.

We visited the pub for food and drinks. We stopped in on our canoeing trip. A group of six adults, four children. We were cold, wet and tired. Tommy and Janine gave us the warmest welcome and were so accommodating of our many questions and requests. The fish and chips cooked up by the chef were crispy and excellent. Highly recommend!

Great local pub! We watched Newcastle vs Manchester united....super atmosphere.

I came to this restaurant with the intention of drinking a delicious Dass beer and trying some fish. After we sat down and tried to order, we were told that they were out of draft beer (even though there's a pub downstairs, from the same company?!?!?!) and that they weren't serving fish anymore either. The staff wasn't particularly friendly and could have pointed this out to us upon entering. Then we would have left. My colleague's pizza wasn't good, and neither was the soup of the day. It came with pre-baked bread and plastic-wrapped butter. They did a good job with the pie, though! Overall, not recommended.

Il personale cortese e attento ha piacevolmente coronato la nostra esperienza della serata.

Nice casual dining in a beautiful setting overlooking the marina and Loch Lomond. Great for kids and friendly staff.

Went into the Gathering for a couple of drinks after being out walking all day. The bar man was quite rude and came across as though he did not want to be there. I went to get a second drink, stood waiting at the bar for over 5 minutes and no one came to serve me, went into the cafe part and asked for a server to come down, bearing in mind the cafe was empty, waited another 5 minutes before deciding to leave and go elsewhere. On leaving, the bar man was standing outside. I did say I would have stayed longer had there been someone available to serve me, and got various excuses from him - its out of season, he's the only one working, he had to restock etc etc. Very poor and would expect better!

This place has a great kitchen which also serves "The Gathering". The food was excellent and was promptly prepared and served. No waiting for desiccation under a warming lamp. The same can be said for the breakfast. Great variety and nice quantity so you weren't left wondering about value as you might in some restaurants serving "pretty food" and a "pretty price".

9 of us staying next door at Premier Inn paid for breakfast . Scrambled eggs, never seen them so watery and near white in colour taste disgusting 😝. Fried eggs warm and rock hard. Sausages good bacon not great . Berry fruit lovely coffee OK. Not worth the £9.95 better off in Morrisons across the road. Evening meal worse service very poor chicken dry and uneatable left most of my food and so did others in my party.

6 off us have had meal deal for weeks at least 2/3have had problems with meals ranging from cold to overcooked most nights starters under cooked or overcooked main meals much same.some time waiting 90 minutes for main to come only for it to be cold only 2 people seem to know what they are doing the rest haven't a clue restaurant is empty yet they are turning people away (the lucky ones) .the owners of this establishment (whitbred) must not care about their product or they would do something about it health and hygiene should take a look at this place
