Brewers Fayre Loch Iall in Highland

9 of us staying next door at Premier Inn paid for breakfast . Scrambled eggs, never seen them so watery and near white in colour taste disgusting 😝. Fried eggs warm and rock hard. Sausages good bacon not great . Berry fruit lovely coffee OK. Not worth the £9.95 better off in Morrisons across the road. Evening meal worse service very poor chicken dry and uneatable left most of my food and so did others in my party.

Absolute abysmal have to wait hours for a table and then had to drink my chicken tikka masala through a straw as I could pick it up with a fork

Waited 30 minutes then asked as others that came in after me had been served, they then brought out what looked and tasted like a lacklustre microwave fish pie.

What a terrible experience and no manager to speak to. Went in for dinner on a quiet night and waited an hour for my meal which was only scampi and chips. When I asked to speak to the manager I got told she doesn’t work nights what kind of place does the manager not work nights?? The person I spoke to was apologetic but didn’t have a clue. I will definitely not be going back there again and I’m surprised it is open

It's next to the Premier Inn so provides their breakfast service. Everything was as expected, we left well fed and ready for the day. The manager (Scottish guy with a silver beard) was very welcoming. Will no doubt be back again.

So, from our evening meal served and looked after by Elaine and Ella throughout our sitting to Breakfast. It was really nice with Dave being ever so helpful this morning. There was a lot to choose from with many healthy options available too. Another excellent experience. Thank you.

There were only 2 servers on Elaine and Ella (so sorry if I got that wrong). They didn’t stop. The food was served promptly and hot. The food is what it is. Brewers fayre is a budget restaurant so I don’t understand why people have complained. The mixed grill was served hot and was perfectly cooked. It wasn’t greasy. The salad with the lasagne was fresh and plentiful. The servers went from bringing out food to seating people all with a smile. Yes we had to wait to be seated. They can’t be everywhere at the same time. It was our pleasure to thank them and give 5 star. I’d give ten. And we do recommend staying and eating here. It is excellent value for money. Friendly staff. Hard working. If you want the ritz, pay for the ritz. Thank you so much Ella and Elaine. X. I hope I have your names right. I agree with all bad reviews, this place should be shut down! Everything about it is just wrong. - Service - there is no!! They take your order and that's the end of their service! There is no attention to their customers whatsoever. The place was empty and now we know why. After we finished a side dish, there was no one to clean a table. After waiting for a at least 15 minutes I took the empty dirty plate to the bar telling them that we have finished it. We were waiting for the main course for about 30 minutes, in the meantime staff of that place were sitting at the bar chatting. One girl was constantly talking about life in Bulgaria and a male waiter was contemplating whether he needed a haircut. After waiting forever I had to ask when the food was going to be served. - Food - OMG - they don't serve what they advertise in their menu. Fish pie - I guess the chef forgot at least a few ingredients as there was no prawns, smoked fish, just a piece of salmon and that's all. The gammon steak arrived cold. But the best was with their new item on the menu Thai Green Vegetable Curry. I ordered it with an extra grilled chicken. When that dish arrived I asked woman who served it for her attention. I showed her on the menu what is said to be in the curry. There was no broccoli , no bamboo shots (which I don't think she knew what it was anyway), just peas and that extra chicken and that was all. Lucky me I asked for that chicken!! So after I complained about that she went to the staff that was by the way still sitting at the bar chatting to share my complaint. NO ONE, I will repeat NO ONE bothered addressing the fact that we were not happy with our meal!! They completely ignored that fact. We just got a nasty look from Bulgarian story teller female and that was it. No apologies nothing. We were both in shock!! We had been to this chain places in Edinburgh, Dunbar etc. We used to like their hospitality but that was the last time we left our money there. I was tempted to go and speak with someone in charge but to be honest I didn't want to waste anymore of our holiday time and energy.. The Brewers Fayre should be ashamed with this kind of lack of Customer Service and a food that doesn't match to what's on the menu and basically of that branch in Fort William that completely is ruining their reputation. In the end we knew why this place was empty at the weekend.

Not as good as it used to be. Waited over an hour for our main courses. Asked to speak to the manager but apparently she doesn't work evenings or weekends. We used to come in regularly until I was hospitalized. First time visiting in over a year. Probably won't be back again. Food was lovely once it arrived but the service was a shambles. Might be a good idea for the manager to show up now and again to train her staff especially as it wasn't even that busy.

Seriously ! this eatery should be shut down. Family dinner was an absolute disaster, under staffed and overworked is the only way to describe it. As a local resident I would certainly recommend the overworked staff go seek other employment elsewhere. A family group of 5, we were celebrating a Birthday on a Sunday in February. Staff shortages meant we had to wait nearly an hour for our lunch. When the food arrived, it was cold and looked unappetising. The beer batter on the Haddock was grey and looked like porridge, was undercooked. The chips on all our 5 plates were of the cheapest kind, made with black and ‘diseased’ potatoes. Cold. The Fajita Chicken Breast burger had no Fajita spices on it, was served without the advertised sour cream or guacamole. Some of the dishes were sent back for reheating. We asked to see the manager. He appeared after quite some time, having been busy with other complaints. He basically just shrugged off the complaints with a well rehearsed tale of excuses. He reluctantly agreed to a minor Refund be given. We will never return to this appaling restaurant again .

The service received here tonight was abysmal unfortunately, we arrived at 6.15 - for a booked table. with a 5 year old to have dinner, we ordered at the bar at around 6.25 but had to go and check on our order at 7.15 as no food and no staff had been to explain there was a delay, said it would be another 5 to 10 minutes, we said to the staff member (Ella) that when you know it's kids waiting maybe some info and when it's this long of a delay maybe something for them to nibble on, she agreed and brought him a few chips, absolute star. We were not the only customers having issues, at least 3 other tables were complaining and we heard one customer stating that when she had asked for the head office address the staff member (not Ella!) had told her to Google it, this is absolutely shocking customer service and downright rude. When we finally got the kids dessert, the staff member, who is named Ella couldn't apologise more and explained that they were short staffed and had kitchen equipment out of order which head office are well aware of, poor show for a company like this to leave outlets and staff struggling like this, Ella was fantastic, she was the only one who showed any kind of remorse for what customers were having to put up with, apologised profusely and tried her utmost to sort all issues, give this girl a payrise, she was the only one who dealt with things.

Wouldn't go near the place waited over 1 hour 20 minutes for our starters which 1 came out cold our daughter is coming 2 who was rubbing her belly waiting on her dinner. Mean while another family who ordered after us had got their 2 corses and was leaving when we got our starters when waiter was questioned where our dinner was his response was can't you see were busy and understaffed. If we were told they were very busy on arrival fine not made wait. We left after we got refunded will never be back!

As we stayed in the premier inn, we came for breakfast. The breakfast was lovely and all very fresh, great value and really set us up for the day. Fried eggs soft and delicious which is hard to do at a buffet. Service wise Shirley our server was very pleasant and spoke when we came in later for a drink. An England man with a pony tale also seemed delighted we had enjoyed our breakfast and finally a man who looked like Santa made sure to welcome and explain how it all worked to everyone who came in and made a ping to say goodbye also. Only complaint was the toilets. One made a terrible noise like an engine and the other only had one toilet working and had a slight smell.

Went to the female toilets on arrival. One was out of order, the only other loo there was no toilet roll 😱. Came out to wash my hands and saw the hourly check lost on the wall or toilet checks hadn't been marked the whole day. Headed out to the bar to ask who was responsible for the toilet check to be told the Duty Manager. Duty Manager was just passing at this point and I asked her when the toilets had last been checked. She couldn't answer me. Said they had been cleaned 1st thing this morning by the cleaner. I asked again when they had been checked since then. Highlighted that the toilet hourly check list hadn't been signed off all day. All I got was 'Well I will go and put toilet roll in there for you now' a bit late! If that was a menstruating female or a young menstruating female what a horrible position to put them in..completely negligent, thoughtless and absolutely no excuse for that neglect on basic hygiene. She then came over to my table after to say that's toilet roll in there now. Not the point and after the fact! It should never have been allowed to run out in the 1st place. Did she want a pat on the back for that? I went back to the loo before I left and low and behold the checklist had been completely removed. Took a video of the whole loo which clearly showed no check list up. For a Duty manager that is one exceptionally poor response. Not even an apology. The chap that serves us our food on the other hand could not have been more helpful!

Awful food. Cold burger returned and received another cold burger. 3 mini pies - not as stated - all same kind with 1 tablespoon mash.

Food was spot on! Laura and Ella on the floor were brilliant making sure all our needs were taken care off and the food was cooked perfect. Would definitely be back. Thanks guys!

Stopped next at the premier Inn and had four meals and breakfasts here including Xmas dinner. The menu is a normal brewers fayre and the meals we had had were spot on to be honest,but the Xmas day three course meal was exceptional. Lovely starters of pulled beef Yorkshire pudding and chicken liver pate , fantastic. Then a carvery for your main with loads of meat on your plate then help yourself self to all the trimmings, turkey, gammon and beef melt in your mouth delicious.then delicious Xmas pudding or ice cream sundae to finish.cannot thank very hard working friendly staff enough especially Andrew who saw to us.met three lovely people from ballachullish and fort William as well

Was here for my 60 birthday meal and we were very disappointed with it all the steak wasn't cooked correctly the chips were cold our apple Betty was socky and tastles we have ate here a number of times but we will never be back so disappointed especially as they were very quiet only about 4 coustimers in absolutely disgusting 😵😡
