The Crofter in Highland

Returned for a meal with my wife. The attendant , "Alan" sorted us with a table and even read out the daily specials board as I was too lazy to get up. We selected a few dishes from a very reasonably priced menu and ordered some drinks. I have to say the food was excellent, I had " sizzling chicken frajitas" , and you could hear them sizzling as they left the kitchen, huge portion, and my better half had the stornoway black pudding burger , again huge and both dishes as tasty as tasty can be. All this, complete with a cheeky wee curly fries and pepper sauce . Washed down with some wine and a pint. This bistro/ bar/restaurant and it's staff and food /drink are a credit to the owner, Mr Dale "reilly" Monk. Alan our server and the other staff go that extra mile every time we visit and that is why it's the best in the West. 10/10

We visited The Crofters 3 times during our stay. The food and service was amazing. There is so much choice on the menu; something for everyone. The portions are very generous and the quality of the food is excellent. Twice we are as a group of 11. The staff were very accommodating, and we were all very satisfied with our meals. I would definitely recommend trying the Crofters when visiting Fort William.

2 days Fort William, 2 timestamp diner in the Crofter. Very good food for a reasonable price. We had the haggis with neeps&tatties, Balmoral chicken, Rannoch burger, Thai bites and the battered shrimps.

Really nice food and much appreciated after 6 days of hard yards on the West Highland Way. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend.

Such a quick and delicious lunch! We went because they serve veggie haggis, and it did not disappoint. Definitely try the local beers if you’re visiting, everything was decently priced too.

Lovely staff! Really accommodating. Went in with my family hoping to have food and watch the football. They put the game on for us, served delicious food and were really nice with kids. Highly recommend this place.

Been to The Crofter for food twice and it will not be our last visit. Great atmosphere and an extensive menu with lots to choose. Starters: Prawns, Garlic Mushrooms, Garlic Bread Mains: Cajun chicken with curly fries, Chicken Haggis and Peppercorn sauce with mash, fish and chips. The quality is amazing and plentiful portions.

Even though the restaurant was packed, our service was quick and the food was delicious. Our waiter was very friendly and we were happy with the overall experience. Pictured is the steak pie and the mac cheese.

Ordered smoked fish soup got half a bowl. Ordered tomato and basil soup it was like eating a jar of pasta sauce. The price charged was way over the top for size of bowls. Went here when visited a few years ago had a lovely meal sorry won’t go back.

Friendly welcome on arrival. Service, and atmosphere very warm and friendly, Food delicious, ordered Butter chicken Curry, with rice, and Nan bread, Very tasty, came quickly, very hot and very tasty, very good price , for food and drinks.

Don't leave getting anything to eat after 7 because that's when they stop and believe you me you want to try the food. From their set menu to a selection of other foods their food is amazing. Go for haggis needs and tatties with a gravy it was amazing. If you go for one meal you will return again for another

Busiest bar in Fort William when we visited and no wonder. We were greeted immediately and shown to a table and given menus and advised of the specials board. Staff extremely friendly and our food was both plentiful and delicious. I had Haddock and hubby had Steak and mushroom pie. Have passed this establishment many times in the past but will definitely pay The Crofters Bar more visits in the future. Highly recommend

The place was understaffed and completely full when we were there. Yet our server - Alan - still managed to give exactly the right amount of attention to every table, and his attitude and personality were top class. A real asset to the place! The food wasn't half bad either😁

This was a nice spot for lunch. The service was friendly and fast, even though the pub was packed. The food was good and value for money. It's very dog friendly.

Went here twice in our trip and both times the food and service was very tasty and service was great. Quite affordable and good portions too.

Nice for a pint. Didn't order food. Had an IPA that was £4.90. Long time since l paid less than a fiver for a pint. Worth popping in if you are in the area.

Stopped by for a quick lunch during our Highland tour and were impressed by the warm food and service. I chose the Baked Spud with Haggis toppings, while my husband opted for Haggis, Neeps, and Tatties with a side of Guinness. Truly a delightful meal! Highly recommend this place if you are seeking a local pub for excellent food and a friendly atmosphere.

We throughly enjoyed visiting the Crofter Bar on 3 separate occasions during our visit to Fort William this Christmas. It has a quiet exterior on a corner in the Main Street that doesn’t give away too much but once inside you will find great staff, food and atmosphere. We have had beef and chicken burgers, a steak, and balmoral chicken too, during our visits, all of which were very nice indeed. Special mention must be given to how welcome our two dogs were made with water and even a little piece of ham each ! Superb Thank you Crofter 👍

Lovely little place in Fort William. Try the local whiskey. Try the nachos. Freshly baked and tastes like heaven.

Fantastic service and the food was very good and it was very well priced

No particular wait But the meat was good and so were the nachos. We are in Scotland, a country where peas are on the restaurant menu in December… So quite a nice surprise and authentic pub.

Very nice pub with food, had a pool table and darts, along with a couple casino machines and I believe a karaoke machine, food was great, had a cheesecake after and it was delicious. Very nice home and welcoming vibe. Will definitely be coming back very soon.

heck yeah, Haggis! massive fish and chips portion compared to the other plates. the chicken was off the roof, free tap water and friendly Scottish service (never fails). wouldn’t get the burger.

Fabulous staff greeted at the door .lovely and warm service was quick and helpful had Marrocan chicken strew rice and flat bread ,not over spicy perfect for me very delicious lunch time meal husband had steak pie chips and mix veg very filling

Great place to tuck into some haggis. My wife and I were on a Hairy Coo bus tour and found that there was plenty of time for us to sit, eat, pay, and be on our way. The food was great and this haggis was one of 5 different preparations I had, and felt like the most "standard"

For the price you're paying - absolutely no complaints. We shared nachos to start - these were huge and some of the best nachos we've had, homemade tortilla chips and everything! Then for mains I had fajitas and my husband had a burger. Both great, just too much for us after the nachos! Service was excellent. All came to under £50 including 2 pints. Dog friendly. Definitely would recommend.

Lovely, just popped in for drink but ended up staying a couple of hours and something to eat. Soup was delicious and husband had a toasty and sweet potato fries, he loved them. Definitely will be going again. Other people's food looked amazing.

Vibrant atmosphere without being chaotic, popular with both travellers and locals. The service is prompt and efficient, and the food is delicious. Live sports is a big plus.

Really not much (well actually, not anything) to fault here. Atmosphere: bustling - it's a pub (although with half of it dedicated for meals). It had a busy pub vibe to it. All good here. Service: excellent - the guy that showed us to our table and took our order was friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome. The two different girls that brought our food and cleared up afterwards were always cheery and friendly. Brilliant service. Food: very good - it was brought quickly (but not so quickly that you worried about the freshness) and it was tasty and the portion sizes were good. Absolutely no complaints about any of it from any of the four of us at the table. Value for money: brilliant - all items were excellently priced - this really was a great value for money meal. Good food served at reasonable prices. I'd not hesitate to go back or to recommend it.

Visiting from abroad and we did a hike in the area before stopping here. The service was friendly, the food was good, and the place had a good atmosphere. I’m glad I stopped here and would highly recommend it.

With all the good reviews, we thought to give this place a try. Even though there was a sign saying the restaurant was full, we saw a few empty tables. The couple in front of us were shown to an empty table. Then, the tall waiter turned to us and told us in a rude way that there were other people waiting inside and told us the restaurant was full. We didn't see anyone waiting. If that is the case, why then the couple in front of us were given an empty table. Looks like business is too good for them to simply wave us off rudely.

Great food, wonderful service! Definitely a good spot to grab a bite! The bar looked like they have a lot of local goods.

Enjoyed dinner and service was good. The only snag is way too much vaping, 5 tables were vaping while I was having dinner.

We have eaten some great food in Scotland, and this place is one of the top for taste. It has a great pub atmosphere, and it seemed that a lot of locals were eating when we visited. For me, that's one of the best indicators of great food. The prices were also some of the most reasonable we have seen.

We wandered into this little pub. The food was delicious and service was good. The music was a little loud and heavy metal, which wasn’t really to our liking.

I asked for a takeaway during a busy lunchtime, and they kindly obliged. The fish and chips were excellent, fresh, and very generous. They also provided lots of napkins and condiments , which is a small detail that many other restaurants are missing these days.

Tired after days of hike and this place was just apt for the perfect meal. We ordered: Venison Burger, Veggie Haggis, Potato Soup, Garlic Bread, Guinness beer and the local Glen Spean IPA Food review: Venison Burger is a unique experience. Veggie Haggis is wholesome and tasty. Potentially nutritious as well. Their Glen Splean is a must try. Pros: 1. Amazing service. Quick. 2. Hot food. 3. Range of scotch available. 4. Better to reserve seat here. Cons: 1. They start seeking order the moment customer sits. Honestly, throughout our time here it seemed like the servers were in a bit of a rush. Way too prompt to seem natural and keep customers comfortable. 2. Better to reserve a seat here (for those who come from long hikes).

Comfortable and friendly, didn't eat but the beer was well kept

No selection of real ales/ cask ales available despite advertising. The only one that was supposedly cask was heavily carbonated. The beer tasted like it had gone bad... weird bacteria smell & flavor. 2 stars because the atmo was decent.

Great spot for lunch. We were in the area and were lucky enough to get a table right away. Not a fancy lunch, but burgers, wraps, and nachos. Service was quick and friendly. Nice atmosphere, many friends having a drink and relaxing in the place. Prices were as expected. We had earlier parked in a car-park so had to walk a short distance; not sure if there's closer parking if needed.

Amazing fish and chips, best that I've had in years. The service was fast and lovely, it has an atmosphere of a true Scottish pub. Highly recommend.

Great pub on the high street of Fort William Bar on one side, restaurant bar on the other. Process are probably the best in town. 1x pint of Foster's + 1x pint Guinness = £7.75. Happy days. Staff are friendly, and the locals are fandabbidozi too. Highly recommended. Enjoy and thank me later 😊

The staff are friendly This is a restaurant where VAT and service tip are charged separately. The wine included in the set menu had to be discussed separately.

The gentleman who greeted us at the door could not have been more arrogant or ruder. Maybe he just doesn’t like Americans. Food was average, but service was as described previously.

Restaurant with a wide variety of typical Scottish foods and drinks. We tried a craft blonde beer from Fort Williams, we really liked it. The waiter's attention was great, he helped us a lot when speaking Spanish.
