First day of holiday so wanted something quick and easy, having read other reviews we thought Smiffys was the place to be. The party had haddock and chips while myself and sister had chicken fillet burger and chips. Meal Super Hot (even though we had to travel a little way back home), plenty of chips and the burger was simply 👌🏼. Juicy, crispy and full of flavour. To make this raring a 5⭐️ is maybe look at adding a slice of tomato or a few strands of onion. Other than that highly recommend

I suspect the Silverfjord is not long for this world. The dining room was freezing cold , half of it set up for breakfast. It also appeared to be a pub with no beer - I had their last can of Doom bar, the only non-lager option on offer. It was also served in a novel way - the unopened can dumped in the top of a pint glass. I made the mistake of ordering the 'home made' burger, I am not sure what it was made of but I don't think any cows were harmed in its making. My wife's fish and chips was OK, but came with no peas, just a piece of torn up lettuce. Chips were cooked ok, though. We didn't stay for dessert, we were in and out in just over an hour, £37 poorer and wiser.

This is a handy spot for a break on the way to Inverness. Quite basic but not too bad. Plenty car parking. Not far from the main road. Could do with a Saltire or two. Also a bit of information about the town and the local and Scottish drink and food they serve. Not sure why it is listed as a British and not a Scottish cafe.

I have been an enthusiastic and regular patron of the Pottery for more years than I can remember, certainly 22 plus years. I have introduced many friends and colleagues to its delicious cakes. I was upset and disappointed on my last visit to find that loud unpleasing muzak had been introduced. This ruins the ambience entirely. Who travelling in the Highlands wants loud irrelevant noise? Sadly unless this disappointing development is reversed the place will lose my regular custom and that of my friends.

We’ve been working from home since October and staying locally. The Cairngorm hotel has been the best place out of all to visit. The feel of the place and atmosphere is second to none, but the staff absolutely make it. They really get to know you and make you feel at home. Special mention to Matt, he was the first person to make us feel welcome and get to know us from the get go. He absolutely makes the place and is a credit to the place

Very dirty environment. Food served by an unclean looking man. Not very friendly and over priced. No menu available, no prices on show, cash only.

We booked the Hogmanay dinner here- there were 8 of us that travelled from London to be here. We first of all arrived at 6:30 when the champagne reception was supposed to start to walk in with no welcome, staff running everywhere shouting at each other. We made our way in to the dining room to find everyone already seated- apparantly they had changed the time but not let anyone know. On our table we only had 3 bread rolls- asked for more- then told they had run out! This was the start of things to come. We waited until after 8 for our starter to appear. This was fine. One if the children in our group has severe allergies which I gave details of before our arrival which was completely ignored and he ended up with no food!! This is a small child who we were assured would be catered for. I think went into my banking to find they had charged my card that I originally gave the deposit for -which I had not authorised them to take the payment for. Whereby they had overcharged me by £100- I am still waiting on this money being refunded!!! We then waited over 2 hours!!!! for our main course to arrive- again the child with allergies had not been catered for- it ended up so late where he was so hungry he had to leave. During this time was asked on multiple occasions if the food for the children could be brought out. We were the last table to be served. The band was supposed to start at 9:30- this never happened- we stayed until 11:15 then left- it was just shambolic. Some staff were trying to help. Other staff were being rude - especially the 'manager'. Again we were promised a refund which she showed me on the computer as being processed but never came. This could have been such a lovely venue- completely let down by incompetent staff/management. They are now ignoring my emails and not answering calls- despite having stolen my money without authorisation- I am going to take this further.

I didn’t eat, because I arrived after hours, but dropped in to see what the place was like. It was a quirky but quaint little place, with some wonderful old photographs on the walls. The owner was thoroughly engaging and was happy to give up her time to chat. I wish I had time to stay for longer. Next time though, for sure…
