The pub itself is really nice and the staff was very friendly. The food was also pretty good ( I had a chicken haggis), but it was a shame they didnt have the full menu selection at the time (no burgers and no breakfast). Overall, still highly enjoyable

Had been working in and around Glasgow all day, and was in the need for something to eat, but more something on the go. As I was near by, decided upon the Kent Chip Shop. Nice little place with all the usual stuff, so ordered a sausage supper, which was freshly prepared in no time. Maybe a tad on the pricey side, but all in all, filled a hole and was very tasty.

Don't bother management is a disaster 1 person on a 4 table half menu unavailable. 48 minutes to get served. Chips cold garlic bread cold and greasy more interested in wiping down tables and bar than taking orders if its available!!!!! 5 days at hotel won't eat here EVER AGAIN !!

Thank you Cranachan for the best GLUTEN FREE Afternoon Tea I have had. For the first time I could taste flavours, the bread was amazing and the scones and cakes a delight…you would be hard pushed to distinguish it from a regular Afternoon Tea. To Ryan and his team a huge thank you - food and service impeccable 😊

We went as a party of four, and were greeted cordially, by pleasant staff. Although the place was almost empty, it had a "busy" vibe about the place. Surrounded by so many bottles of whisky, it was difficult to concentrate on the food menu, but three of us had the two meal deal, and I selected a steak (no dessert, I was having a whisky instead). The meals came promptly, and were good sized portions. My steak was perfect (rare), and the others in the party were well pleased with their food. A young guy, who I think was the manager, sat down with me to help me select a whisky, and it turned out to be a wonderful Highland Park Alchemist, which was so smooth, it's hard to explain. A few more people came in, and the ambience of this little gem was great. I've been travelling through Wishaw for almost 50 years, and not seen this place. Not a massive, in your face signage, but an honest, plain shop front, that's well worth a visit. The bill for four meals, three desserts, drinks and a special whisky was just less than £82, which I found amazing. We'll certainly be going again, and I'd recommend you try it.

The Doublet is a traditional wee pub in Glasgow's west end that does occasional gigs in their upstairs lounge bar and my wife and I were there for the first time last night for Stanley Brinks and Freschard who were playing their second night there. The tickets said doors were 19:30 but in the event we didn't get in for another half an hour after that. Not necessarily the bar's fault (the artists notoriously like a swally and a fag I think they might have been dragging their heels a bit doing exactly that). The downstairs bar was very busy and the atmosphere was good as was the service from the young bar staff. It's not cheap though ... £6.50 for a pint of Estrella is what I'd expect in a trendy midtown brasserie not a small bar patronised by students and locals rather than professional types and tourists. The gig was sold out so the small upstairs lounge was choc-a-block with a very enthusiastic audience which obviously also made for a great atmosphere. So in short we had a great night and I look forward to future gigs in The Doublet. Just to touch briefly on a couple of downsides though; the stools in the upstairs lounge become quite uncomfortable after about quarter of an hour and are like implements of medieval torture after about 45 minutes ... and (importantly) the men's toilets are absolutely stinkin' and definitely need to be cleaned more regularly.

Plenty of parking. Not a hotel, despite the name. We were quickly given a choice of seats and settled o a cool corner of the outer dining area. The menu was quickly provided and drinks ordered. They have a lunchtime sandwich menu with a special for the day. I settled for the ploughman's combo with cream of mushroom - both very good. Prices were fair and the service excellent.
