The Doublet in Glasgow City

So glad that you are serving Murphys! We had just been over to the High St to find what we thought was the only place in Glasgow with Murphys on tap. We were so happy to find Murphys here after getting the subway home.

Such a unique and oldly worldy style bar. A nice atmosphere.

Lovely place to enjoy a drink!!

It was my favourite place in Glasgow back in 1999. I took my dad for Hogmany 2025 and it didn't disappoint. Nice beer, reasonable prices, and a good, friendly crowd.

Very good Glasgow pub about three minutes walk from Kelvinbridge subway station. Three cask beers on handpump when I visited. Some outside seating at the front. The small lounge upstairs at the rear is usually closed at quiet times but it is available for large functions and it is often used as a music venue.

This is a great mock Tudor tenement bar. It’s early doors so few folk are in. Two cask ales on - both from micro breweries in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Great bar, West End Glasgow. University Student hub, great selection of beers and wines. Haven't been in for years but popped in for a few.

Viejo estilo de los hombres de trabajo pub que cobra sobre los precios superiores. Fui aquí después de la graduación de los hijos en junio. Lo pasé de camino a casa y entré con mi esposa cuando le mencioné que estuve por última vez en este pub en la década de 1970. Didn't eat were booked elsewhere ,,drinks expensive compared to other pubs in area .

Great old fashioned bar with a decent selection of beer. A few seats available outside for one of the rare sunny Glasgow days when this is possible. Nice and unpretentious proper pub.

Favourite bar in Glasgow, pop by for a pint or two

£11.75 for a large glass of white wine.

Nice wee local pub but as many others have said, prices are exorbitant. £6 for Guinness that is one of the worst tasting I've had in Glasgow. Clean your pipes!! Also quite a bit smelly, ppl smoke in doorway including staff but this actually makes it a bit less stinky which doesn't say a lot. Loos need some refurbishing. Can't justify the prices but since co owner ran Saramago into the ground it's not surprising

I used to live just round the corner from the Doublet Bar about 55 years ago so I went back to see my old flat with my son on Saturday, very good atmosphere as we watched the Scotland v England rugby match definitely a very welcoming place to go I would recommend it to anyone 😀 cheers 🍻

Busy on a Tuesday for the quiz for which the crowd move upstairs around 7:45. Some nice beer. Be aware that since the last extensive remodelling in 1957 they prefer to pronounce the bar the French way, The Duble like Michael Buble.

Quieter than the surrounding bars that were jumping with noisy students, so, we were able to have a conversation in comfort and hear one another ... 🤫

Legendary spot for a pint of Guinness in the west end of Glasgow. Great atmosphere and lovely staff with reasonable prices 🙏

Took friends from Berlin, Prague and Leipzig to what is probably the best remaining reasonable boozer in Woodlands. Downstairs you will likely find old skool west end types who wrote several episodes of Tenko and Z cars before you were born. Upstairs you will find live music and a much younger LGBTQ friendly crowd. Great to see things like Augustiner on sale. Friends were impressed and still mention the place!

Traditional bar with a decent range of beers and good service. Well worth a visit, especially if you want to avoid posers and hipsters.

Someone left a review saying proper old mans pub. Is it heck as like. Just look at the selection of beers on tap shows it isnt. Plus nearly £6 for a pint of cider that was disgusting.

Owners are the ones who sacked staff from another bar for wanting to unionise

Nice staff and decent 'ye olde' style vibe, but £6 a pint of Guinness - was a good pint to be fair but taking the mick with the prices! Would expect to pay that in the Hydro not some wee pub in Glasgow! With that £6 a pint you'd think you could afford hand-dryers too!

Rubbish! ALL real e lines off for cleaning are 2 o'clock on a Saturday. Get a grip!

No real ales at 2 pm on a Saturday. ALL ale lines being cleaned. Get a grip. This happens on a Monday morning, or one at a time. Gave it a chance after finding it overpriced a few years ago. Last chance, chaps. Won't be back!

My favourite haunt for writing or friendship in Glasgow. Friendly & unpretentious local’s joint. Someone ordered a wonderful peat-ey scotch for the table that everyone enjoyed. A dignified top-shelf.

Great friendly atmosphere. Just across the road from the Stand Comedy Club so ideal foe before or after the show.

The place looks old and have a different vibe. It is pet friendly. It becomes too crowded in late hours. Space is small, seats are small and not too comfortable. Can try once.

It had been a few years since I had been in here, but it was evry bit as good as I remembered. Friendly lady behind the bar was very helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed this visit

It's like a wee old man's pub inside which gives it character. The house lager the Dom was first class deffo going back in the near future.

Exactly what you’d expect from a keystone pub at a 19th century tenement development area. Good alcohol, good people, good venue. Pub quizzes and occasional love music are the cherry on top of the beer batter cake. Come for the pint stay for making your mark at this old institution

I've been going here for years and my father before me. I went in at the weekend for the first time in a while and was presented with a pint that cost over £6!! My brother then bought a bottled beer that was over £5! I live and work in London and still haven't had to pay that much for a pint until now.

Very traditional pub, been there for years. They didnt have any Tennents so they gave me a sample of their lager which was very nice.

Dearest pint of Guinness in the west end £4-90

Have been to this pub many times over the years and for the first time found the female member of bar staff who served us 'a bit nippy' when she took our order. It seemed to be a bother to her that we couldn't all decide what we wanted immediately on entering the pub. Ok - so yes its good to see it hasn't changed much as its just like old times - but that includes the toilets which are just like old(en) times. Not pleasant. Also prices are stupidly high for this pub. So - overall - disappointed. What used to be a great wee pub- now just isn't.

Lovely pub with a Black Forest theme. Fantastic Guinness, available in room temperature (superior) version but incongruously expensive; Guinness and a Black Isle lager came to £10.20

We had soup and panini for lunch and it came with a lovely tomato salad. It was delicious! Nice coffee and lots of nice cakes. It was a sunny day so we could ait outside. It's a bit cramped on the sidewalk and the tables are leaning a little. Grading it to 3 and not 4 because you can't pay by card under 10 pounds. Friendly staff tho.

Ok bar, but rather expensive for location.

If you’re Glaswegian, and remember intelligent working men’s pubs, and don’t do fancy crap, and are not looking for the cheapest bevvy ( it’s at your supermarket), this may be your salvation. It’s as it was in the 60s ( can’t tell you about earlier, but 50s has to be safe). The beer line up is fab, as is the whisky gantry. Some snowflakes say they find the dunnies stinky: don’t know what you do in there Sunshine, but they were fine for me. And my Sheila. Who’s class. New proprietor, who is doing the sort of civic thing the berks in George Square never have, never will. If you’re up to it, join in and learn something.

Ok for the Westend, quieter than most.

Lovely decor & intelligent atmosphere - excellent & friendly staff. Nice outdoor seating. Good place for a solitary drink or in a smaller group.

An old man's pub, dreadful ladies toilets, not great service

Cleanliness is next to godliness and the hairdressers is next to the chip shop. Neither haircuts or fish suppers are available at the doublet but what they lack in cholesterol inducing food and bouffantery they more than make up for in booze, tables and chairs. A pleasant place with friendly staff and the punters are sound. Some of them smell of crisps and some of them look like walkers.
