We were passing and stopped in. Such a fantastic deli. The lady behind the counter was very friendly, very knowledgeable & everything we bought was delicious. Highly recommended.

This is what an amazing neighborhood bistro should be like. It’s small - only six tables. The food was eclectic and delicious. I loved the view from the dining room with the large picture windows over looking the park and in view of Arthur’s Seat. Our server was very knowledgeable having worked at one of my favorite 3* Michelin restaurants in Spain. It was the last restaurant we got to try on our trip to Edinburgh and it was well worth it. Highly recommended!

29th March 2025. An all round small gem of an establishment, The perfect size portions for us. My wife had the Chicken Supreme with all the perfect trimmings. While I had the Sweet Potato Gnocchi with all the perfect trimmings in a Tomato Ragu sauce, which I added some Sourdough bread and olive oil to help clean up the plate🤪. For dessert she had a scoop of Caramel Fudge Ice Cream, while I had the Dark Chocolate Truffle Torte and Raspberry Coulis. The price was nothing to cry about = £58-00 for good quality food and service.

A little gem in the heart of Bruntsfield.

Nice personnel, lovely athmosphere. I had a Laphroaig whisky and and a pink wine. Great to have a drink and a chat.

El propietario bromeó conmigo como yo estaba diciendo votado mejor pescado y patatas fritas en Edimburgo. El propietario dijo que en realidad el sur de Escocia. Bueno, yo diría que después de comer la comida en el Reino Unido. Rebozado muy delicado perfectamente dorado. Las patatas fritas también eran preciosas. Buen toque la ramita de hierba verde y limón. Absolutamente delicioso. A los 57 años de edad la mejor que he tenido. Absolutamente estándar del restaurante por decir lo menos. Bien hecho a la dirección.

Great food and customer service

I was gifted a voucher so went to book a table. Doesn’t say on website or on voicemail that it’s closed. You have to then email to find out. Please just tell people you’re closed rather than making out you’re fully booked on your website, it’s just a faff. Shame it’s closed looks like it was a lovely restaurant.

Good beer and good staff. Food is fine for pub food, but I'd go for the beer rather than the food.

Refused me a drink even though I had had one drink and claimed I was too drunk. Ridiculous

Thoroughly enjoyed eating here. The food was lovely and beautifully plated. The server was very polite and professional. The only thing that bothered me was the music, it was just too loud . I was with a friend who is hard of hearing and even with his aids on he couldn't keep track of the conversation. It would also be useful that when making a booking people could be informed about quiz night. We did leave a lot earlier than intended because of the high volume.

Necesita un poco de competencia. Lo visito cuando estoy en la zona. Las fichas tienen una alta rotación y son consistentemente buenas. Me gusta mucho la sal y la salsa. Todo bien hasta ahora, pero el pescado en sí fue decepcionante. Un poco delgada y la masa podría ser más ligera. También es caro. Es por eso que digo que podrían hacer con la competencia, ya que las opciones chippy para llevar por aquí son muy limitadas

Dopo la passeggiata a Edimburgo, abbiamo cenato comodi nel ristorante sotto l'hotel, bellissimo ambiente, personale gentile e cucina di buon livello a prezzi giusti

Great service with a decent range of drinks. Perfect for a pre-cinema treat or if you mention you’re about to see a film, they’ll put your drink in a plastic cup so you can enjoy it in the theatre. They also allow laptops until 7pm so it’s a great spot to sit and work during the daytime.
