The best restaurants serving British food in City Centre Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh and Lothian

Great to find, we're doing to entire week in scotland visiting every spot. This good pub with large choices

Took my family here on vacation from US (8 people) having experienced the Boston restaurant myself I thought this would be a great experience for them. I was wrong. The waitress was great. The food was mediocre at best the rib eye steaks we got were over cooked. The porterhouse steaks under cooked. The main reason we went was for the Beef Willington but they were out of it and one of the chicken dishes. None of the food came at the same time some of us waiting over 5 minutes after the first steak was served. With 2 people not ordering a meal just sharing a porterhouse steak. The meal came to over 950£ for 4 porterhouse steaks, 2 ribeye steaks and 3 starters with 5 cocktails. I don't mine paying for a good meal but this was overpriced for what we got.

Lovely friendly and helpful staff, lovely atmosphere in the downstairs bar and food in the restaurant upstairs was easily a 10/10 . Will definitely be back on our next trip to Edinburgh.

Food was good, very good selection of beers and whiskey and staff is very attentive and patient With questions. Service and place atmosphere is excellent indeed

Gran comida y muy buen servicio! Liam y Joshua hicieron un trabajo increíble cuidando de nosotros. El filete se iba a morir y mi esposa disfrutó de su langosta.

For that special occasion it is the best place to visit. Dress code is essential unless you are staying in the hotel.

Stopped by for dinner, food was excellent and well priced. Staff were all great.

This cafe is inside the Castle and we were quite surprised by how decent the food was and that the pricing was so reasonable. Normally this type of cafe has poor food and high prices.

We were walking the Royale Mile, down one side and up the other. The restaurant we had chosen to eat in was already closed, so we decided to eat in the next open one we came to which was Cafe Vivo. It was a great choice. The service was excellent and the food was good. It is a storefront restaurant without a lot of ambience, but the friendliness of the staff and the good food made it work. We would definitely eat there again.

Nice little cafe just opposite the cathedral on the royal mile. A tad pricey but a nice little find for a quick coffee and bite to eat whilst exploring.

Hadn't been here since it changed its name. Strange sort of entrance with a lot of steps. Very very dark back room. Still, staff were friendly and drinks were reasonable!

Good location. Great modern rooms. Jonathan, the concierge, was wonderful! He gave us great help with restaurants and took good care of us while we waited for our room after coming in on a red eye. Negatives: lots of noise from a neighboring late-night food court (not the case for all rooms, we stayed there twice); and the continental breakfast was meh.

After going to the gallery we went to the cafe for a late lunch. The meals are reasonable value and all fresh, good food.
