Delicious coffee and scones with amazing friendliness from the ladies serving. Can’t wait to return. Tables were filling up fast. Only on street parking is available but not a great issue.

We were seated straight away. We had soup which was so tasty and my friend had a fruit scone and he was chuffed to bits there was homemade Raspberry Jam. The earl grey tea was the best I've had for ages and millionaires short bread was just right not too sickly. Thank you for making us welcome, we will be back.

I booked a table for lunch for 3 people on Saturday 29th March for 1.30 pm. We had a drink at the bar and ordered our lunch. It took an too long to come to our table. We all ordered the same beef and Yorkshire pudding for our main course. The meat was so tough we all had difficulty cutting it or eating it and it came look warm. The Yorkshire pudding was slightly war, dry, not nice. For a Chez Roux restaurant our lunch was very disappointing We did get an apology and our meal was deducted from our bill. We left still hungry. Not what we expected or wanted. Service was extremely slow and no one came and asked if everything was satisfactory. It was a special treat for my son who had come flown up from London and to be with us on Mothering Sunday. All very disappointing. We got married in the hotel and have very happy memories. Such a shame. Not up to the standard we expected. Such a shame. We did get reimbursed for our main course but that doesn`t come near our expectations. Such a shame.

Thoroughly enjoyed an excellent lunch at the Open Arms. We were seated in the library which was very nice. Varied choice on the menu of Scottish fair. Food was well presented and delicious. The staff were very polite and friendly. It is a very traditional and homely place and a bit different for a special occasion.

Lovely cafe at the rear of the gift shop. Super friendly staff and the best scones in East Lothian. The gift shop is also well worth a visit.

I arrived here wet and tired. I had a lot of luggage. Biata, the manager was so kind. She stored my luggage for me till I could get into my hotel, and she also printed off all my flight info! So unbelievably kind! The other staff were so lovely too. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was lovely with beautiful art all around. I highly recommend a visit!

For the relatively high prices charged we would have expected decent cuisine. Instead the dishes looked as if they were thrown together. Linguine floating in a tasteless sauce with a few bits bits of dried chicken.. Red Thai curry …..dried chicken, very little watery curry sauce at the foot of plate. No offer of chutney. We have eaten here a number of times but will certainly not be back. Something has gone seriously wrong in the kitchen

Having visited the restaurant and stayed in this hotel on many occasions I was really looking forward to tonight's evening visit with my family. I am sad to say it was a very disappointing experience. Service was extremely slow considering how quiet the restaurant was, waiting ages for the menu, food to arrive etc. You don't mind waiting if when the food arrives it is worth the wait. Unfortunately my chicken burger was so salty it was verging on the inedible. I mentioned this to the young waiter and he apologised and said he would mention to the chef. On my way back to my table I mentioned to the young man who appeared to be in charge how disappointed I was in both the food and service to be advised by him that they serve great food even to the staff. I was a bit flummoxed about how to reply and simple said it was a shame that we probably wouldn't be back. On paying the bill no tip was left which is extremely unusual for me.

Our first family visit to a Thai restaurant, the food was fantastic, very authentic. We shared a starter platter and then had main meals. All delicious. Service was friendly but as it was getting busy with walk ins and take aways they were often a little distracted. The garden area was beautiful and would definitely recommend booking a table out there for the evening. Remember in Thai time food is not a fast experience, one to relax and enjoy!

Craigielaw Golf Club has an excellent restaurant, with a great menu. Best of all, it's open to non-members, and hungry travellers such as myself. Service is friendly and welcoming, and the food, although a touch higher than average pricing, is well prepared and presented, and very tasty too. The restaurant looks out towards the sea over the golf course, and has panoramic views. An enhancement to any meal.

Excellent experience. We hadn’t pre booked, but we received a warm welcome, and were provided with a table. Waiter service was excellent. Great menu and variety. The food was delicious, warm, and generous portions. Would definitely recommend, and we will be back, for sure. Thank you.
