We checked the face book site before setting off which clearly stated the cafe was open. Hiked over 4 hours and when we got there it was closed. Very annoyed. It would be helpful if they could keep their on line pages up to date and make it clear when it is closed. There were several other people there who were let down as well. The car park was full and there were a lot of hikers too so losing a lot of business and letting a lot of people down.

We discovered this fabulous place this morning, we stopped for breakfast and we are so glad we did. From stepping into the deli shop to having breakfast in the Thyme bistro we had the most wonderful experience. A lovely gentleman (Peter) took our order and from start to finish he was extremely friendly warm and welcoming,he is an absolute credit to this establishment . We purchased a few items from the deli and the lady serving was also super. Walking round outside watching the geese, peacocks and hens all going about their daily business was very amusing and highlights how special this place is. Absolutely super find today, and will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Loved the wee hob hut and glad we opted for this rather than camping in October. There were a couple of misunderstandings re booking regarding number of dogs/additional cost but the site was very accommodating which was appreciated. The warden we met on site was super friendly as was his wife in the cafe and the person we spoke to on the phone confirming our booking the day before. Great bacon rolls and coffee served with a smile and a chat at the Cruachan cafe. The showers and toilets were cleaned regularly and the accomodation was clean and had everything needed for a brief stay. The showers were a bit dated and really not big enough to be able to get undressed/dressed and keep everything dry and off the floor or condensated walls. Shower nice and hot though. Bigger space with a seat would be great 😀. Maybe also a couple of hanging hooks in the hob? We were a bit lost where to put wet coats.

Went for lunch with a large party for a family birthday. Our party was looked after by Alan and the service was excellent. Delicious food in beautiful surroundings. Afternoon thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, could not fault it. Would highly recommend!

We had a family weekend in Pitlochry to see the Enchanted Forest. We fancied a takeaway, but to get 13 of us to agree on what we would get, we ended up getting meals from three separate restaurants. Option two was The Plaice to Be. The usual Chip Shop favourites were available, plus Burger Box and Sharing Box items. There are a limited number of gluten-free options also. Prices were on par with similar local takeaway outlets. We received our telephone order at the time arranged and enjoyed our meal

Booked an afternoon tea for my wife and I and we were not disappointed. Absolutely amazing service and great food. Clear explanation of a range of teas and what was included in the package. Home made savouries and sandwiches were first class. Could not eat all the cakes and they kindly put them in a box to take home. A lovely treat. Excellent staff , service and food. You must visit this place to appreciate the hospitality and food.

We were enjoying a nice drink in the beer garden one sunny afternoon, when a youth started shouting & swearing at us because we were English (which was funny in itself because none of us are 100% English). The locals were appalled at his behaviour & the landlord immediately ejected him, however, it cast a shadow on our visit.

We took our hound family for dinner and received a warm welcome. It was a semi-formal environment and delicious food. They also had a kids menu (~£7.50 for kids mains). Booking is essential and they're not open every evening. Would definitely visit again. Menu photos attached, although I believe that the menu does change quite regularly.

We stayed in Moulin for the week and went here a couple of times. Lovely to sit outside in the sun with a beer, good umbrellas in case it rains too! Food quite good, Cullen skink excellent, veggie haggis available and some vegan options. Good beer made at brewery over the road. Nice atmosphere inside- proper country pub.
