A great evening. Beautifully prepared and served meal. The colours and positioning of the vegetable selection, the carefully cooked food, the wide choice of menu, the attentive service, the cosy ambience. What a lovely evening. I would recommend highly to anyone interested in giving it a try.

What an amazing place, the owners Scott and Steph supported by Katie gave us an amazing experience from start to finish. We were invited into cosy and relaxed lounge area to take as much time as we liked before dinner with every drink you can imagine. We were blessed with an appearance of stags and deer outside that freely roam the estate. When we decided to move into the restaurant Steph the chefs cooking - wow !!!!!- every chosen and surprise course was incredible. We’ve eaten out a lot but nothing compared to the quality of the cooking here - it all worked so well. Their thoughtfulness and inclusivity when it came to my wife’s gluten free alternatives was the best we’ve experienced where every course, even some to nibbles had a gluten free option. Throughout the evening Katie and Scott were amazingly attentive, and Scott also gave his time to educate and allow us to try some of the amazing collection of whiskeys. Blown away by the whole experience and thank you so much. There’s a station just outside this remote restaurant and the thought of taking a sleeper up for a few days is one we’ve started looking into already.

We popped in for brunch while visiting Pitlochry. First impression was lovely atmosphere and a very friendly welcome from the staff. Two of us had coffee & scones. Really nice. The boys had soup which they said was delicious. My husband said that the Cullen Skink was the best he's ever eaten. We travel, and holiday, all over Scotland and it's his "go to" wherever we are so that's a massive compliment. We'll be back.

Popped in here for lunch as had tried a couple of other places and weren’t too fussed at the menus and were after something to warm the cockles. We were not disappointed. Lovely cosy cafe with a lovely autumn veg soup and a perfect baked tattie. Portions were big and staff kind and courteous. Had a good chat and got some recommendations for local walks. And lovely coffee! I also left my phone charger because I’m a daftie and only realised when we got home to Glasgow and they have been kind enough to post it back! Great service. Recommend the window seat. Perfect place to watch the world go by. Thanks guys!

Stayed a couple of nights before heading north west. Pitlochry is a lovely spot and Knockendarroch was the perfect place for us. Great views, bedrooms and service but the star of the show is the food. The menu has 4 options for each course and completely changes every night. Three courses balanced just right and with canapés in the lounge before dinner, the whole experience is just wonderful. Particularly liked the seafood laksa and the guinea foul / chorizo dishes.

We had one of our best meals of the trip at Sandemans. All of the dishes were delicious, but the whole experience was even better because the sommelier was so knowledgable and took our meal to a whole other level.

My family and I recently stayed at Fonab Castle for my partner's 40th Birthday. The hotel was lovely and the location is beautiful but we did have a few issues during our stay. I booked a spa treatment for my partner for Saturday 2nd Nov at 10.00am. My partner arrived just before 10am to check in and was asked to take a seat until her therapist arrived. At 10.30am my partner decided to come back to the room as the therapist had not shown up for the appointment. We did receive a phone call later in the day to come back for a treatment but we had already left to go out for the day. No further appointments were offered during our stay. Quite disappointing as the treatment was partly the reason for staying at Fonab Castle. On Saturday night we booked one of the pods for dinner at 6.30pm. When we arrived we were told we could not have a high chair in the pod even though this was requested a couple of weeks prior to the booking and also when I confirmed our booking on the morning of our reservation. So instead of being able to have our 1 year old daughter in a high chair she had to sit beside us on the seat which made the evening a little trickier to navigate. We then waited 45 mins for someone to come and take our order. It felt like we had been totally forgotten. The phone that was in the pod did not work so we could not get anyone's attention. We then asked about the lighting and were told that the lighting was actually broken and we could not adjust it via the remote control. Ths meant we could not see the view due to the reflection of the lights on the windows. The F&B manager was very apologetic and did her best to make up for this but it's not what I expected having paid £75 just for the use of the pod at a 5 star hotel. One of our friends had called the hotel to order and pay for a bottle of champagne for our Pod Experience, which was there on arrival. Unfortunately, when we were checking out this champagne had been added to our bill. I am not sure why, as our bill should not have been a part of this process. A disappointing experience for a weekend that cost over £1300. Fonab Castle have yet to repsond to my email (3 weeks ago)

Booked 2 nights stay at this hotel for my partners birthday treat so we could explore the surrounding area. Arrived around 5pm after a long drive and was pleasantly surprised by how big the place was and how nice it looked at night, with the outside lights/veranda lit up. As soon as we got inside, the service and welcome that we received was lovely. After a quick tour of the room we headed downstairs for dinner, where again the service was great and the food was surprising for such a small hotel - it was amazing. Add to this that the chef quickly came out with homemade fresh out of the oven bread rolls....the smell was brilliant. The guy that looked after the front of house/served us breakfast was very good and very professional. Overall, our stay exceeded expectations and to top it off, it was dog friendly and had a lovely wee kids park in the garden. The only negative for me is that the bathroom radiator didn't work, so it was a little chilly - but things break, and I won't hold it against the hotel as these things happen and everything else in our room was lovely. Will return next year

Booked Dinner here during our second visit this year at Kenmore and what a Bonnie restaurant. Staff were so attentive and every one of them worked so hard whilst the restaurant was full. Food was simply delicious with cleared plates. Great selection of drinks with a gorgeous bar, Ice Breaker was my favourite pint served in a stunning matching Glass….Thanks Heather ;) . We will return again from Coatbridge. I Highly recommend Heathers Waterfront restaurant to everyone whether it’s a daytime coffee and cake to sit outside, or a bar lunch or brunch….or evening meal with a view… don’t miss it! Graeme…

We drove here while staying in near by Kenmore after looking at pictures on Tripadvisor. We were looking for some breakfast and this had been advertised, however after arriving we were the only people in the cafe, we sat down to find that the only food they serve (apart from cakes) is soup. This was disappointing after making the trip and misleading pictures online. I would not recommend going here unless it was for a coffee and cake, do not expect any other food apart from soup. Staff were friendly and also displayed their disappointment at this menu change.

Went here both to see the water I’ll which was not working today because the water level was too low. It was possible to see the three floors of the mill and talk to a miller about the grinding process and history of the mill. Whilst there we went to the cafe which was very busy, we did get the last 2 seats. We had coffee and scone. The coffee was hot and tasty, the scones, one cheese which was great and a fruit one which came with home made jam, were both fresh and tasty. We saw the soups and other meals being eaten and it all to be good home cooking.
