Staying in strathtay so this restaurant is only a 5/10 walk or 2 minutes by car The menu was great with so much choice and the service was excellent Food lovely we had haddock chips tartar sauce with crushed peas an side salad , delicious We also ordered fish of the day mackerel in a chimmichuri sauce which came with potatoes and a garlic and a side salad

We ate at the Inn on the Tay on Easter Sunday and the food was outstanding. Very friendly, attentive staff, nothing was too much trouble. Extensive menu, available as well as daily specials. Will definitely be back

We came for dinner and it was a really special experience. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. We all had fish (market special and fish and chips) and they were all cooked perfectly and the fish was so fresh. We had rhubarb panacotta for pudding which was beautifully presented, light, fruity and totally delicious. We had a table by the river and the sun was shining. We loved watching the kayakers. It was the perfect end to our holiday and would highly recommend this place.

My wife wanted to visit the chocolate shop across the road but as it was lunchtime we decided to park up, stretch our legs and grab something to eat here. First impressions as we walked in were that the place looked spectacular. We were all very impressed. The staff were very nice and found us a table even though we hadn't booked. The menu was great, everything you would want was on it. I settled on the pie of the day, but it came with baby potatoes and I'm (sadly) a fries fan. I asked if they could be swapped and they happily did that for me. The kids had a pizza each although lesson learned for next time, one between two was enough. Everyone enjoyed their meals, a great place to visit and if I'm up this way again I'll definitely pop in again.

The Inn on the Tay is one of our favourite places to eat. The view (and sound!) of the river is unbeatable, but the food and service are also always amazing. The team work so hard and their passion for providing an amazing experience really shines through. The menu is pretty varied - we've tried the pie, the burgers, and the daily fish special so far, and everything has been delicious. The terrace outside is a beautiful spot on a sunny day, and the bar inside is perfect and cosy for cooler nights - just make sure you book to guarantee a table, as they do get busy! We can't wait to go back and try more of the menu soon!

As we opened the door we received one of the friendliest welcomes ever from waiting staff. Without exception, we were treated with respect, kindness and attention, whether this was for a drink in the bar or the outstanding meal we had. This unassuming inn embodies all that hospitality truly means.

Amazing food, stunning location, fabulous service. The bar is really lovely and so is the restaurant. We visited after 2pm so the lunchtime rush was over. Such a relaxing setting.

We stopped for dinner. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was well presented and delicious. We were staying in Aberfeldy. A 15-minute drive away, so I can not comment on accommodation.

Discovered this hidden gem on the journey to the distillery—absolutely breathtaking views. The haddock melted in my mouth, and the special pie, featuring steak and black pudding, was truly exquisite. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

What a fantastic little find. From the moment we phoned to book our table, until the moment we left, wow! Unbelievable. Staff were so friendly and welcoming, the food was incredible! Generous portions, fresh local produce & the taste was phenomenal. My husband, one year old son & I all had a lovely evening here for dinner and couldn’t have had a better experience. We had starters, main & dessert, and a meal from the children’s menu. Very reasonably priced, especially for quality & portion size. Highly recommend.

My gosh , this meal was fantastic ... a top 5 meal of my life. We went for Sunday roast and everything was perfect. Could cut the meat with your fork. The location is beautiful with the river going by. Service was friendly and efficient.

Unfortunately I can't say anything about the rooms. We were only there to eat. The whole staff was super friendly. Restaurant, bar and fireplace room beautifully furnished. Nice view outside of the River Tay. Great atmosphere. The food was delicious and prepared and served with love. We felt very comfortable. It was a great evening. The homemade Steak and Black Pudding Pie was rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection – truly one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The setting is equally as impressive, with stunning views of the river rapids adding a unique and peaceful backdrop to the dining experience. Lovely Sunday lunch with excellent service. This was our second visit and the food was very good on both occasions. Relaxed atmosphere, great location, reasonable price and very helpful staff. We will visit again next time we are in the area.

From the minute we stepped into the Inn the service was excellent , we got shown to our room and facilities straight away. We had a table booked for dinner , so we went to the bar for a drink first, again very good service. The meal was very tasty , all courses. Breakfast included , cooked , no complaints at all. A very well run establishment with excellent facilities and decor , will definitely be back ..

We love this part of Scotland and had a family lunch for finish our holidays there. Food was delicious, service on the highest standard, great views on river, amazing atmosphere. We will definitely come back. Our group age was between 3 and 82 and every single one had a lovely time ❤️

The inn on the Tay is a beautiful establishment set right on the river Tay. I visited with family and the experience was something else, from the second you arrive the staff are very friendly and welcoming with a great knowledge of the products they serve. The food was divine each course better than the last we all left feeling delighted with our choices. Would definitely recommend the inn on the Tay

We sat outside and it was stunnning! The lady behind the bar was so nice and helpful, letting the boys choose the colour of their cups, going go the kitchen to cut cucumber for my Mum's Hendricks G&T etc They were so accomodating allowing us to order food outside so we could enjoy the beautiful views. Would highly recommend for a visit. PS beers were lovely as well!!!

I have not stayed at this Inn but am staying nearby & have eaten here this evening & a few times previously. I visited with my family & I have a son whose diet is very limited indeed. They accommodated an off-menu request for him without any question or judgement, & as a result he ate well, & he absolutely loved it, saying it was the best fish he's ever had. They were just very happy & willing to ensure we were all happy & catered for. The food here is the best available for some miles around. Many other establishments serve inferior (probably bought-in frozen) for similar prices. What you get at the Inn on the Tay, is excellent quality food with excellent quality service. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. If only more restaurants had the approach that Inn on the Tay has. The owner &/manager is definitely doing it right!

Beautifully situated on the banks of the River Tay, in the village of Grandtully in the lovely Highland Perthshire. Staff very welcoming, efficient and the food that we had was excellent. No complaints whatsoever. We will return.

Absolutely gorgeous welcome into a beautifully laid out restaurant and no one disapproving of our young guests. Great choices on the menu and the food was delicious satisfying the pickiest of eaters, which we were very thankful for. The staff were very friendly but not intrusive. This was an amazing experience and a lovely end to our family day with our grandchildren. Thank you so much- it was all fantastic x

We visited for Sunday lunch on the first day of our holiday. The booking experience via email was simple. I was asked if anyone in our family had any dietary requirements on booking and the chef was happy to accommodate this meaning everyone was able to fully enjoy their meal. The food was outstanding, melt in your mouth beef, extremely tasty gravy and sides. It was the best meal of our holiday. We also enjoyed taking advantage of the walking trail along the river Tay to burn off some of the calories. Great views, lovely atmosphere and really nice staff. Thank you!

Fantastic pub with restaurant . We went for dinner and dogs were welcomed with us. Food was 10/10 and was served quickly, staff were attentive and helpful. Location is just fabulous. Would definitely recommend and eat here again.

An absolutely perfect evening. Exceptional view, service and food. I had the sourdough pizza - you choose your own toppings - and it was excellent. My husband had one of the specials - a steak and ale pie - and it was delicious. I used to joke that I moved to the UK because of sticky toffee pudding and anyone eating the one from the Inn on the Tay would believe this to be true!

We stayed here for a couple of nights for my birthday celebration. The staff and the owners are not only friendly but very professional too. Rooms are beautifully clean, very spacious with lovely views. We had our 2 wee dogs with us and were made very welcome. Our meals were all fabulous - we loved the raspberry & white choc porridge for breakfast. Our dinners were wonderful and they catered very well for us vegetarians. Atmosphere in the bar lovely with locals popping in too. A lovely break, thank you all.

I have to say this place is exceptional - the food , the dining room , the setting - just beautiful Probably the best meal I have had in years - around £40 for 3 courses - comparable to a pub in nearby tourist trap Pitlochry ( only 4 miles away) Service outstanding - I had black pudding scotch egg (a special), hake with veg (another special) and the most wonderful rhubarb/raspberry dessert with ice cream that you can imagine We might just have to go and stay overnight to appreciate this wonderful food again

We didn’t stay at the Hotel but booked dinner at the Restaurant today by email as visiting from Australia. Quick and friendly response from Fiona and loved the drive from Logierait where we are staying. Restaurant and Bat are located right next to the Tay River and we had a wonderful table taking in the view. Service was excellent and I had the best steak I have ever enjoyed. The four in our party agreed it was a wonderful experience and a shame we are heading south tomorrow.

What a great find on a miserably wet day. Didn’t have a table booked but were lucky that a pre booked table hadn’t been taken so they were happy to accommodate us. Very busy, every table occupied and after our excellent lunch which was served so pleasantly and efficiently we could understand why. Great food, nice setting overlooking the river, a credit to the hospitality industry. We highly recommend and will most definitely return.

Visited the hotel bar - fantastic location by riverside. Good beer selection, plumped for Schiehallion lager from Harvistoun brewery and Ossian Golden Ale from Inveralmond. Dog and walker friendly .

Would give the inn on the Tay 6 stars if I could. Arrived 3 minutes before food went off. In other establishments I'm quite sure we would have been turned away but not here. "No problem" the manager told us. We ordered a pizza for quickness and it did not disappoint. Perfect base and topping. As it was so relaxing we had a few coffees after our drinks as the atmosphere was superb. The extra star I would have given would have been for the exceptional service provided. Will be back soon especially when the weather improves as the setting on the river is perfect for relaxing.

We arrived here after a muddy cycle. The owner and staff were very helpful and let us clean up a bit before lunch. Our soup and bread was very tasty. We were impressed by the warmth of staff and the quality of the lunch

I rarely bother to review but when the offer is this good it ought to be broadcast. The ambience, service and exceptional quality of the dining experience could not be rated more highly. Bravo!

The Inn on the Tay never fails to deliver fantastic food. Just visited with my wife, different starters and mains. Every element of each dish was superb, the sauce to accompany the melt in the mouth beef was absolutely delicious. The staff were attentive, happy and full of smiles. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

The most beautiful location one can dream of. Sitting by the side of a fast move river surrounded by trees and snow. You can have your meal in total silence admiring and loving nature.

Booked our holiday cottage just so that I could come back for dinner here, after popping in for a coffee in the summer, whilst waiting for my family to come back from rafting on the river. Gutted as I had not checked dates and staff hols were only ending half way through our stay so my poor relatives had to put up with my cooking until the Tay was open! ( but certainly don't begrudge the wonderful staff a well deserved rest) We ate there on two consecutive nights each one being fantastic. Could not fault a thing. Food, delicious....Service, friendly, welcoming, absolutely brilliant. Third night we made the mistake of going elsewhere that was supposed to be five star but we had a main course left and headed back to the Tay who looked after us splendidly with cocktails and a dessert . In my humble opinion this is without a doubt the best restaurant in the area. I can't wait to come back again and stay in the rooms. A little slice of heaven. Miss it miss out! Having enjoyed a very good lunch here earlier in the year we decided to return to make use of the rooms in a DB&B package with friends. Firstly, and most importantly, the staff throughout our stay were charming, polite, friendly, helpful and efficient. It was an absolute pleasure to be there. We enjoyed drinks in the cosy bar, dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and relaxed in our very comfortable and spacious rooms. The only disappointment was perhaps dinner on this occasion. The menu was nothing special (odd, just before Christmas) and the dishes were rather lacklustre, much against expectations following our previous experience. A hummus and dukkah starter was dry and tasteless, a chimmichurri chicken breast in a brioche bun was similar, dry and chewy. Luckily breakfast was much better and nicely served again, with plenty of choice (we filled in a form the night before as requested). We would return but the dinner menu needs a bit of an overhaul first.

I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world and eat different foods all over the place, but this restaurant is by far my favourite of all time. I can’t fault a single thing about this place: - the location is amazing right next the river, it’s so incredible when it’s rapid as well and loud! - the atmosphere indoors is great, the pub is quite fun and can sometimes be high spirited, however the restaurant is a little separated and it doesn’t affect the dining experience in anyway. - the service provided is just second to none, everyone is so friendly, so helpful, and for me, this is the service to beat. I had a table of 4 booked and in the words of my family, “why can’t everyone just do service like this?”. Truly exceptional. - to top it off, the food is just outstanding. The steak is incredible! I was lucky enough to come here in January 2023 and it was so exceptional that I decided to take family in December of 2023. I was a little nervous that it wouldn’t live up to the hype I’d created for it, but it absolutely exceeded it. I wanted to stay here actually but unsurprisingly, it was fully booked for months! 10/10, couldn’t recommend this place enough.

We had a wonderful meal at The Inn on the Tay - our best during our trip to Scotland. We didn't have a booking but the team made room for us and could not have been more friendly and welcoming.
