We were enjoying a nice drink in the beer garden one sunny afternoon, when a youth started shouting & swearing at us because we were English (which was funny in itself because none of us are 100% English). The locals were appalled at his behaviour & the landlord immediately ejected him, however, it cast a shadow on our visit.

My wife and I along with our 2 granddaughters (4) and (1) visited Aberfeldy for the day and made a great decision to dine here , from going in the door till we left the staff could have been any friendlier nothing was to much for them ,it was spotlessly clean with nice decor , the waitress took our drinks order while we were deciding what to eat and they were brought over very promptly , I had the steak pie with chips and peas n carrots ,, the wife had the macaroni with chips and a very nice side salad , our oldest granddaughter had macaroni and chips with peas n carrots , all 3 meals were excellent could not fault them at all , the granddaughter can sometimes be a bit picky when eating but she cleaned the plate , we never had any pudding because we were to full but the oldest granddaughter had ice cream and strawberry sauce on it ate it all aswell lol , price wise it was very very good , I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation

Just passing through and stopped at this place for a bite to eat .Food was terrible,no flavour, presentation or passion was put in to it.The vegetables were frozen peas and carrots,pastry on top of the steak pie was cold and as for the steak pie itself, well who ever cooked that shouldn't be in the catering industry

Wir waren vier Mal dort und jedes Mal war es gut. Unser Sohn spielt gern Dart und in dieser Bar ist das möglich. Tolle Location, mit Billardtisch und drei Dartscheiben. Tolle Getränkeauswahl und auch das Essen ist sehr gut. Alles frisch zubereitet und schön angerichtet. Es läuft, wenn Sport ist immer das aktuell Programm, auf Wunsch von uns wurde sogar umgeschaltet. Ansonsten läuft Musik, in angenehmer Lautstärke. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und sind deswegen immer wieder gekommen. vielen Dank für die tollen Stunden bei Euch,

Wow, food was good but stay away if you want a nice quiet meal. We booked for 18:30. There is a pool table and dart board in the restaurant which wasn't too bad at first as a couple of people were playing pool. By the time we were on deserts the restaurant filled up with what appeared to be locals who were shouting and swearing and then the juke box came on at full volume with AC DC. Time to go. We were thankful that we didnt book for later.

so disappointed, if you want to have a family meal at 6pm without others beside you swearing and refusing to stop it even though you have a table of children, then don’t go here

Stopped off for lunch. Food was delicious, sandwiches had generous fillings, lovely bread. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Will def return and recommend to others. Well worth stopping off and reasonably priced

My uncle Ginges funeral reception was held here on Friday 26 May 2023. Excellent food and service. Would totally recommend this place. Nice atmosphere and a beer garden.

Stopped for drink after walk up the Birks of Aberfeldy. Friendly pub, staff very welcoming. Great menu for food, recommend Steak &Ale Pie it was delicious.

1st time back to the black watch inn since it's refurb. Really well done and the food was excellent. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Came here for lunch while staying in moness. 2 adults and 2 kids, 2 of us had the chicken with haggis and peppercorn sauce, and 2 had the the special sweet chilli chicken, both meals were very good and tasty, and the portions were massive. The service was great, very friendly and they even put the football on the TV for us. Prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend and would go back again.

Our party of 7 and 2 dogs went in on a Saturday at 3pm, starving as we'd been several other places who couldn't accommodate us. And so glad they couldn't, as we'd have missed out on this excellent food! 3 tomato soup starters (big comforting bowl) and haggis bon bons which my husband said were excellent. Followed by steak pie (half a cow with a huge slab of puffy pastry), macaroni cheese (proper cheesy sauce and topping) and balmoral chicken. All totally delicious. We'd have loved to have followed with some sticky toffee pudding but we were all stuffed. We (and the dogs) were all made very welcome, food was fantastic and the service was super, with all staff being very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return

Typical pub fayre. Good service, good variety of food, and excellent draught beers. Mains and puddings for four and drinks for two - £100.

We stopped in for dinner, had drinks and ordered. While waiting, several people came in, ordered and waited, waited, waited. We learned that the cook walked out!! We did receive our food (after a looooong time, we think wait staff cooked) and enjoyed every bite.

Chelsey was a wonderful barmaid and truly made our visit incredible! I fell in love with her eyes. I’ll definitely be back again next time I visit Aberfeldy

Was looking forward to a pub dinner but was disappointed. Fish was tiny, hardly any batter and bland. Husbands burger was overdone and white wine was served warm. Must improve !

The food we had here was good, but we were expecting to be in the 'Croft Restaurant'. However, we were told that we were being seated in the bar with a pool table right beside us. We enjoyed the food, but the atmosphere was lacking.

The Black Watch is Aberfeldy's oldest public house. The staff were friendly & welcoming, & the food was tasty - I had the macaroni & chips. I would definitely go back.

So we arrived when a football club were all having diner and found that our reservation was lost. However, staff were friendly and sorted us a table. Considering they were serving nearly 30 people all at the same time, the service was very good indeed...

Nice environment. Social distancing in place, temperature and contact details taken re covid regulations but no face masks worn by staff. However, staff friendly and welcoming . Enjoyed meal but limited vegetarian options. Would recommend.

Lovely restaurant with nice selection of food for the whole family. Kids food available as well. I personally loved the steak and ale pie. It was fresh, delicious and homemade. Went for an anniversary dinner and drinks here during a weekend away to Aberfeldy and the place was lovely - food was huge and delicious, and the service was superb.

This place offers a restaurant area on one side with a pub area on the other. We ate here whilst on holiday and were temperature checked on entrance with details taken. The menu has been scaled down but the meals we had - fish and chips and the pie were tasty and large portions. Staff were friendly too and prices good. They also have an outside area at the back, tables at front and a TV inside.

My favourite haunt, frequently visit our holiday home in the area and cannot pass this place by at least once on our trip. We had a pleasant experience last week as we sat in the beer garden for the first time in the sun, had a couple of drinks and some lovely food, the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The food itself is, not only delicious but very nicely presented, even if it’s a snack like item.. hope the chef is proud, and unlike a couple of other establishments in Aberfeldy, I think the chef try’s what he’s putting out the kitchen. Prices are fair also, no complaints here, would highly recommend.

The pub had few people in it but was really noisy with profanities appearing to be in every sentence so we went next door to the restaurant and ended up having a meal too which was nice though not special in any way( no swearing in here even though it was pretty busy)They were short staffed but friendly and cheerful It was good value for money

Family group including a couple of very young kids called here at a lunchtime on a very wet day. We were made very welcome by cheery staff and we enjoyed a couple of drinks before heading back out to the elements. It's a nice wee local pub with numerous TV sets showing sports and a pay to play pool table. There's an adjoining restaurant which was empty and we didn't eat so can't comment on the menu. Toilets were clean enough but could do with a general upgrade. Nothing much to make it stand out from other local bars apart from the very friendly staff.

We were in theAberfeldy area for Christmas. Booked for Christmas Eve. The staff were great. The surprise was that it wasn't a set menu, like most places on Christmas Eve. The food was excellent and the staff brilliant. There were 12 of us. Age range 22 -87

I had seen on TripAdvisor that the Black Watch Bar and Croft Restaurant had put on a great Christmas meal and we were not disappointed. After locating their email address from their Facebook page we were able to make a booking for Christmas day. The atmosphere was really enjoyable and the 3 course meal was exactly what we were looking for at an affordable price . The team behind the bar and in the restaurant were very friendly and welcoming. If you are looking for somewhere to have an enjoyable meal at any time not just on Christmas day, we would highly recommend you making a booking.

Our group of 8 had an excellent meal at the Croft Restaurant. Good selection on the menu, all the food we ordered was delicious with good service.

The Croft Restaurant is attached to the Black Watch Bar. We booked for an early evening meal.The menu choice was quite varied, with 3 additional mean meals on the specials board, which changes daily.Service was very good, polite and attentive. The main meal portion sizes were very generous, so much so that no room was left for sweets!

Booked a table for 14 people via the websites "Book Online" function. Received a reply that all was well. When we turned up the restaurant was fairly quiet, lots of tables were empty (none set up to accommodate our booking) to be told by the manager, very rudely, that they had no booking for 14 people that night and no option to book online "as they don't use social media". The manager continued to protest that they could not accommodate us. The only reason we got a table was 1 of the waitresses and bar staff started to set up a table for 14. The restaurant remained fairly empty for the whole time we were there. The food was mediocre at best and thrown together. When waitress was asking how the food was she only asked those who had ordered the special, Ribeye Steak, 1 of which was an absolutely shocking piece of meat which should never have made it out of the kitchen. The chicken burger was a breaded frozen round disc that probably came out of Farmfoods. The steak was removed from the end bill. All the while we were there the manager glared at us from behind the bar. We only stayed as we would have struggled to get a table anywhere else in the village for such a large group. This is the last time we will be booking this restaurant on our annual family trip to Aberfeldy.

Wish I had listened to my other half and had the steak pie, it's definitely not to be missed. He also had the tomato and bacon soup, both of which he urged me to try. They were both really tasty and would definitely recommend them. I had a burger and it was packed with flavour and the options to add on great too. Wee bit more than we were used to paying but worth every penny and Julie the waitress was a star, full of information and attentive without being obtrusive.

This restaurant is right in town. Great Steak and Ale pie. Huge servings. My partner had the crispy duck with plum sauce. Reasonably priced wines. So basic good food but needs a decor facelift.

We were IN Aberfeldy for a couple of days and walked past this pub and noticed a patio/beer garden area. Not being local , we walked I to the first door we saw and entered a dark gloomy room with a bar at the end on the right. I asked what beer they had and was answered in the most aggressive way by a jumped up waiter who screeched..." There are no dogs allowed in here" ...I was lefr speechless by his attitude. Before I could let him have one of my retorts, he was saved by his lady colleague who explained, Very calmly, where the bar was and how to get to that patio area, explain ing that the area I was in was the restaurant ...that's all it took. There were two lads in the so called restaurant area...drinking beer...hardly a busy restaurant. I went Roy d to the bar to buy a drink for myself and partner and eventually for served...it was busy pub. We had a couple of drinks, but decided to give their menu a miss as I couldn't bring myself to give them any more of my custom. Shame , one guys aggressive screeching lost them some business.

Croft restaraunt , entered for evening meal to basically turn round and leave, smell of greasy food and disenfectant not very appealling. feel it could do with a revamp , very dark and dated. Unable to comment re food.

We had dinner in this restuarant during a stay in Aberfeldy. The food was very good and all of the three courses we ordered were well cooked and presented. We would recommend the steak pie and roast beef for a main course. For dessert try the Croft Special, very indulgent.

When traveling through the Scottish Highlands we stumbled upon this gem. It’s outside appearance wasn’t overly inviting but the well priced menu selection made up our minds. The staff were excellent and the food great, we could recommend the gammon and fish and chip, and we would certainly return. The interior decor, although not worn, presented a great opportunity to be upgraded to a black watch theme, tartan wallpaper with adorned with scenic Highland prints, who knows that could happen.....

Whilst in Aberfeldy for a few days we went here for dinner one evening. The meal was awful. We ordered fish and chips, one in breadcrumbs and one grilled, we got one in breadcrumbs and the other one with batter, probably didn’t know how to grill it. The food was disgusting as the fish was over cooked and the chips burnt hence the reason for not eating it. Smoke alarm went off due to smoke in kitchen with burning our food. Definitely not the home cooked food they advertise. We were given steak knives to eat our meal with and had to ask for them to be changed. Staff with long hair going in and out of kitchen without it being tidied back. We complained when we got the bill and they took off the price of one meal. We will never use this place again. We went to the Town House further down the road the following night for a meal and it was excellent as were the staff.

Dinner last night with our adult children, both of whom are vegetarian. They enjoyed the mac n cheese, we both enjoyed the balmoral chicken. Service a little slow, but staff pleasant and friendly. Great food well presented. Would definitely recommend.

I had three meals in this restaurant, the first night was a very nice gammon steak. The next night I had the chicken and haggis - it was so good I went back a third night and had the same meal.....

We had a nice family lunch in the beer garden on a lovely sunny day. The staff were very friendly, the service was quick, the food was excellent, a good choice of drinks all at a reasonable price. They also provided our dog with water and some buscuits. I would certainly come back here again.

Dropped in for the last food orders the other night, and was not disappointed. Had a lovely Ribeye steak and Freshly battered haddock after a hearty bowl of home made soup. We have been before and not been disappointed.

Wir haben an einem Sonntag dort zu Mittag gegessen. Das Restaurant ist wirklich sehr schön gemütlich und die Speisen waren sehr lecker gekocht und die Portionen groß. Damit waren wir sehr zufrieden. Am Abend zuvor wollten wir ein schönes Guinness im Pub Bereich trinken, das war leider nur mit sehr großem Lärm möglich. Bei schönem Wetter gibt es einen sogenannten Biergarten im Außenbereich wohin man sich zurückziehen kann.

A great place to stop for lunch and a drink, really friendly welcoming staff. Dogs are also very welcome and they even put bowls of water out for them.The food is excellent. Definitely worth a visit!

The wife and I ordered rump steak and it was actually the worst steak we've both ever eaten at a restaurant. I finished most of mine, mostly because I was famished after hiking loch Tay and after adding a dam of mushroom sauce but the wife ate 20% of hers and that was commendable. We both ordered Rare and at best they were medium-well done. Tasted like they'd been defrosted in the microwave and finished on the grill. There was a good reason why the place was empty in peak dining time. Avoid until the food improves.

Bare floors, a fruit machine and brass foot rails, I'm talking about The Black Watch pub / eaterie, not the restaurant next door. It is very much a pub which does food but it's homemade and excellent to eat. We tried the Coronation chicken sandwich,nwhich was the best ever. Good range of drinks, too.

Beautiful restaurant, well laid out and spacious with helpful, friendly staff. The menu should suit most diners and our meals were well presented and delicious. We'll definitely return.

We ate Sunday lunch here and chose the special - a Thai curry. The service was very speedy and the food really good.

After a long walk we wanted a relaxing meal, the lady who served the meal the rest of them were rude more interested in the gossip around the court appearance of a local business man, encouraging customers to read out loud the story from their phone at least three times!

Visited here for my birthday meal and it never disappointed. As it’s was Friday, it was steak night which means when you order a steak dinner from menu; you get buy one and get another half price. We ordered the chicken strips starter to share and we both had Sirloin Steak, with steak Diane sauce & peppercorn sauce. I had the Croft special desert with drinks. The bill for 2 was just under £42.

Had dinner here both nights on our short break. Both times the staff & food was excellent. Will definitely go back & recommend to others. Sticky toffee pudding was the best 😍
