This shed is miles down a single track road, in a beautiful setting but hardly in a commuter belt. It is so well stocked. Cakes - so many to choose from, hot and cold drinks, ice cream, fudge tablet. The caravan park further down the road must help with trade, but it is a great place and I hope it continues to flourish and the baker continues to bake (Oh and the cakes and tablet were fab).

Really popular place on the main road in Inverary, and as soon as you eat the food you'll see why. They managed to seat us without a booking within about ten minutes, five people from 14 to 50. The menu is really good, not too many options so you know they can prepare the food fresh for you. The cafe is part of a hotel too and although we only had food I'd certainly consider staying in future. Between us we had soup, burgers, steak sandwich and avocado sandwich... all absolutely delicious and huge portions, especially the open sandwiches. The staff were really cheerful and helpful. The toilets clean and easily accessible. They have a relatively large indoor area but also some tables in the garden at the back. Tip... there is ample parking behind the restaurant so you can avoid the main street and then walk through the garden to the back of the place.

Sunny Saturday afternoon - dog walk on Carsaig beach. Went to the coffee shop for a coffee - once in we fancied a bacon roll - can't go wrong - right?. To be fair there were a number of customers ordering toasties etc. They did say "we are very busy and it might take a while" What does that mean?" "ten minutes probably" Well sitting in the sunshine and looking out over the boats coming and going is no hardship. After half an hour we got a bit impatient and were assured that they are just almost there! So, after 40 minutes we were delivered two dry rolls with crispy bacon which falls apart under pressure. Dry as a bone inside and greasy outside? That's quite a trick! My labrador enjoyed it anyway. Why are we so hopeless at hospitality in Scotland?

Lovely welcome for us and our greyhounds. We came for lunch as we are on holiday in the area and then came back as the food is so scrumptious. We ate off the specials board the first time with lamb shanks in mint gravy and off the main menu the second time - fish and chips. And delicious puds - the absolute best raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake in the world closely followed by peach and chocolate crumble. It was a treat to find somewhere so welcoming to our hounds who although large are very well behaved. A big round of applause for the delightful members of staff for whom nothing was too much trouble.

This place used to be good, but it's not customer friendly any more. Breakfast HAS to include black pudding - no substitutions, even though most people don't like the stuff. Perhaps they over ordered. Anyway, it means you either get a rather small breakfast for £9.55 or you get a normal sized one and throw 20% away. A minor point, perhaps, but shows a particular attitude to customers in general.

Overall disappointing. The prawn cocktail was gorgeous at £17 for a starter as we're the starter portion of scallops however at £17 for Famous fish and chips it was very poor. Not a large piece of fish and plate was filled with frozen French fries. Not appealing at all. It is not cheap to eat here and the seafood was lovely but overpriced.

We had a reasonably good time at dinner. Our Irish waiter was engaging. That was a plus. The food was rather mediocre, though not bad. The portions were large enough, but not very tasty. The gnocci was drowned and deflavored by a light sauce, rather like a broth. Our only real complaint is that the place has/had a policy of pushing guests through. We were required to leave our table in a specified time, which left us no time for desert or after-dinner drinks.
