This place used to be good, but it's not customer friendly any more. Breakfast HAS to include black pudding - no substitutions, even though most people don't like the stuff. Perhaps they over ordered. Anyway, it means you either get a rather small breakfast for £9.55 or you get a normal sized one and throw 20% away. A minor point, perhaps, but shows a particular attitude to customers in general.

Café is supposedly dog friendly. When I called with my dog, that has been in restaurants throughout Europe we were refused entry because my dog was too big! Small dogs only apparently. What a bizarre rule! Consequently we moved on.

Unwelcoming, unfriendly, bad food and high prices. I truly regret stumbling upon this place. A petrol station sandwich would have been a far better choice.

Absolutely superb breakfast from this little cafe, one of the best I have had in a long time. Items were cooked to perfection for me, well priced and included some of the best gluten free toast I have had. Huge pot of hot tea with milk served in little milk urns which was a nice touch. Value for money, presentation and taste of the breakfast were first class, if you like your full breakfast this is well worth a stop.

Place was mobbed. We were told they'd keep the next table if we went for a shortwalk. This is the best cafe we've been in for years. Coffee is fresh, strong and excellent. Value very good and a great range of food and cakes for such a small place. It's hard to make a breakfast roll so much better than elsewhere, but Rumblin Tum have managed. The bacon is cooked to order, it's thick cut and it tastes like bacon should. The lorne sausage is thicker and tastier than anything I've had and the Stornoway black pudding is just superb. My vegan companion was equally happy and impressed with her hummus salad and falafel.Stopped off again a couple of days later for take away and every bit as good.If only I could move to Ardrishaig, I'd be huge in weeks.

Visited last week and had booked table for 2 as I thought that would make it easier. There are only 4 tables inside and 2 others had been pushed together by a group of workmen and were therefore about 6 inches away from us rather than the Covid requirements. There was enough space to move the tables back considerably but no one had thought to do so.The waitress lifted the menu from the large table and passed over to us directly - this should not happen without it being cleaned.Staff did not wear any PPE and I think kitchen and waiting staff served us which again I don't think should happen. When the large group left the table was wiped but not the chairs - high touch points.Breakfast itself was ok - bacon was good but try as I might I couldn't get my teeth through the toast and gave up after two attempts. We did take away some cakes and they were very good.Looking back we should simply have left without eating given the number of issues here but we were too polite to just walk out.Sorry but we won't hurry back

Absolutely no problem with the food. The problem was there was one table too many to maintain social distancing. Our table was in the middle of the cafe against a support column. On one side of us was a table that when someone was sat at that table on our side they were not 6ft from us and people were squeezing between us on the way to the toilets. On the other side of our table and close to it was a freezer unit in which the variety of ice creams were on display. At one point 4 adults and two children (who were sat at the table mentioned previously) were looking at the display of ice creams and were stood within 18 inches of us. Social distancing out of the window. The table in the middle by the support column should be removed.

Just enjoyed a delicious Xmas dinner here with a group of work friends. Very good prawn cocktail to start, great turkey and all the trimmings ( big slices of very moist turkey And proper bread sauce!) Had to rush away after main so they very kindly packed up my creme Brûlée to go. One of the best in a long time and I’m a brûlée connoisseur. Special menu with a mix of traditional and a bit different. Book a night - if any left this side of Xmas. Otherwise I’m told everyday lunch is very good.

I was staying in Ardrishaig for a week or so and this friendly cafe became my regular haunt. I had not expected a cafe on this scale to offer as much choice as it did. I had expected a more limited "coffee shop" menu with perhaps some sandwiches, soup and cake etc. In addition, the menu contains such as options as a full breakfast, a number of hot lunch options (including pub style options such as fish and chips and lasagne) and there was even a daily special of curry! The cafe is located opposite a car park, making it an option for those travelling through Ardrishaig and it is located at the end of the Crinan Canal too - making it a useful place to grab some hot food or drink at the end of a walk / cycle. Overall I was very impressed, especially because the staff are so friendly. Service was efficient and attentive and I was billed accurately.

Now it was not horrible but it was far from lentil .....and the bacon looked horrible. So maybe work on your soup game.

Made an unscheduled stop in Ardrishaig after a minor car accident (watch out for that one-lane canal crossing!). We soothed our frayed nerves with tea, a nicely prepared sandwich and a tasty burger and chips in Rumblin Tum's pleasant cafe. When the owners, a very kind husband and wife team, heard about our mishap, they sprang into action, volunteering to help us with bus transport, finding us a schedule and making sure we got to the nearest stop in time. Me and my gf were recommended to go here by a few people. The day we went it was busy but we managed to get a seat. We sat down and waited 5-10 minutes for someone to come over to us and acknowledge we were there. Once the girl came over she gave us two menus and told us she would be back in a couple of minutes. We looked at menu and decided what we were going to order but had to wait at least 10 minutes to order until the girl came back and in this time i counted two other tables that came in after us who got served menus and their orders taken before us which was not nice. We ordered our food and waited about 10 minutes for food to come, wen it came we had no cutlery and waited 2/3 minutes to see if they brought it over as this first time we had been there, they didnt so i had to go up to where you pay and ask for cutlery which the woman there did apologise for. The food came but my chips had came without cheese on top of them which i ordered, through gritted teeth the girl said okay all get that changed and nipped through the back and put cheese on it. The meal was fine but my gf was 3 quarters of the way through her chips and found a hair which just put us off but most of our food was already eaten. We decided not to say anything as we already had eaten most of it , and we did not want to annoy the server or cause anymore hassle. We got up went to pay and left. Maybe we were just one of the unlucky ones as everyone we know thinks its great but unfortanelty we cannot recommend it

Went here for breakfast when we weren't happy with the hotel we were staying in and was so pleased that we did. Excellent service with a smile and scrummy food. In the perfect location near the end of the Crinan Canal so good for walkers who may need sustenance and a great view. When we left we also bought cake to take away as it looked so good and we weren't disappointed.

Rumblin tum now open in evening at weekends. We had an amazing meal there on Friday night. Food excellent, huge portions, friendly staff and relaxing. Really the only place in Ardrishaig worth going to. Well done to Anne and her team.

Our crew (including Liverpool Andy) were fortunate enough to find the Rumblin Tum on the 2nd night of its opening. Great reasonably priced food and great friendly service. In this location within walking distance of the Crinan canal basin the Rumblin Tum should be a 'must' for boating crews. Well worth a visit.

My group of five had just brought a boat through the Crinan canal and were pretty hungry. So we were very glad to come across this lovely bistro type cafe which has an extensive menu. We all really enjoyed our meals which were served by a couple of charming young ladies who were very welcoming. The cafe has no alcohol license but you are welcome to take your own which you can buy from the Co-op shop just down the road or bottles of bear from the pub next door. We all said we would love to go back next time we are in Ardrishaig.

We come here regularly for lunch, the food is good and the staff are friendly. The chicken goujons are the best, lovely and crispy and their black pudding is the real deal.It is advisable to book a table though because it can get very busy.

Driven past many a time on holiday and never thought to call in but the other day we arranged to meet a friend there. What a good idea. Parked across the road in the large free car park, easy, peasy. We were against the clock so only had breakfast buns but they were very good. Rashers of thick bacon topped with a golden yellow runny yolked egg packed into a soft bread bun. Oooohhhh. Next time it's a Full Scottish for me! (Sorry, meant to take a pic but I was nearly finished when I remembered. Too good to hang about!)

Only has about 6 or seven tables so best to book at lunchtime. Lovely home made food and friendly staff. Excellent sized potions- you won't leave hungry. Only minor negative comment is that service a little slow but to be expected when food is nice and fresh. Prices very reasonable too!

Great wee cafe by the road on the A83. Just the job for a stop on the way south to Kintyre. Smashing staff, great food and top class coffee.

When open (it has now closed permanently); it was a great wee eating house! We went there often. It will be sadly missed, used by many locals, tourists and organisations as an affordable restaurant.
