Had Sunday lunch here. Staff were so friendly and helpful, squeezing us in at the last minute. The roast was delicious! And they were happy to make up a vegetarian option for 2 of our children. The puddings were amazing and big portions... If you get the chance to try the bara brith bread and butter pudding you really should! Highly recommend.

This is a lovely course, very challenging in places, the greens are very well looked after and true & quick. Sadly our scores didn't dovit justice but we will be back to try & do it justice. During the winter months on a Tuesday and Friday there is winter warmers for 4 ball offering a bacon cob with tea or coffee for a welcome 👍⛳️🏌️♂️

Amazing. It's a bit like being invited round to a top chef's house for dinner. Small, homely atmosphere and you're greeted like old friends. Very limited menu of two things per course so only go if you're not picky, in sense that you eat a limited number of things. But do go if you're picky in the sense that you know really good food when you taste it. The food was incredible. Every single item of food was so elevated, it's hard to explain. The best example I can offer is that I've never had a tomato that tasted so tomatey. If that makes no sense, I can't help you. The wine was great, we tried the fizz and the picpoul and both were spot on. And then there was the creme brule. The absolute highlight.

Another lovely evening meal at the Lorna Doone restaurant yesterday. Always so welcoming and friendly. Our guest had the chicken pie, my husband ate the saltimbocca and I had a perfectly cooked, juicy fish. Mel's suggestion of the Sangiovese - as we all felt like red wine - was perfect. Unusually we even went for pudding. I loved the rhubarb pudding and my husband enjoyed the sticky toffee. We'll be back soon! Thank you!

My partner and I had eaten here on previous occasions and enjoyed the food and quiet ambience of the place .Our dinner last night was ,however , very ordinary .The portions of all courses were skimpy with the mains in particular requiring far more vegetables to accompany them .The breads accompanying the amuse bouches were dull and the butter with them too soft and tasteless . A disappointing experience .

I suppose I'm a bit biased as this is my local. But it is a traditional family run pub and tea room and bookshop that does food as well. Like Sunday lunches. It's a good family pub, the puddings are amazing, all cooked on the premises, not like some where they are bought in. And the atmosphere is welcoming.
