The Eating Inn in Blackpool

My wife and I dined at The Eating Inn in Blackpool on two consecutive evenings last week due to the outstanding food and hospitality we received. I highly recommend the Ribeye Steak and Sea Bass; they were both cooked beautifully. Talking of beautiful, Lotte, Donna, and Linda provided us with a wonderful service throughout our visits which makes this a fantastic dining spot, highly sought after by locals and visitors alike. The name 'The Eating Inn' isn't too obvious from the sea front but just look for the big, shiny cow on top of the building!

Hats off, fabulous steak, very well presented, great service. Larger loos may be worth the investment.

Absolutely glorious food, everything cooked perfectly. Staff were really attentive and polite. Enjoyed our meal very much indeed. If I had any complaint, and its not a complaint just a suggestion. They should include a mixed grill on their menu, then this place would be perfect !! 👌

Good food and excellent service

We had a really lovely, family meal at The Eating Inn. The management are very diligent, friendly and competent and the rest of the team have lovely intentions and want to do a good job (which is more important to us than perfect service). It was Easter Sunday and they were packed but made us feel relaxed and comfortable even with our 1 year old kicking off! We would definitely recommend to friends and will pop on our "re-visit" list if we return to Blackpool.

We were recommended this restaurant, we booked for 6:30pm 2 adults 2 children on arrival we were met by a waitress and showed to our table, we were sat in the conservatory which was decorated really nice, it was quite busy for a Wednesday evening. The kids menu was very good, and good value.

We booked a table online for 8.15pm on a rainy, windy Tues night. We turned up at just before 8pm to be told the restaurant had closed early due to a wake the following day?Plenty of diners were still eating, the staff advised that they had been contacted to come earlier but I hadn’t even though they had my email & phone number. They offered to book us in for another night, we were unable to do that as we were only staying in Blackpool overnight but wouldn’t have rebooked anyway & will never be returning. Thank you to The Eating House for absolutely nothing

We called for lunch today and we both had the mushrooms to start and then the sirloin with chunky chips and peppercorn sauce both were absolutely delicious the staff was very friendly and efficient and the restaurant is very nice looking I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back

After looking at menu I had to try a steak at this restaurant. Could only do lunch as rest of day was booked. Restaurant was very quiet and we sat in the conservatory… Tornado Rossini fillet steak was the best steak ever .. Will definitely be back

We booked in advance as previously experienced a delicious steak, however we had different menu this time! What a treat!! Absolutly amazing!! What amazing food for such a great price! No wonder your always busy! Would have still had the steak ( the fillet) but not disapointed as had a beautiful meal. Thank you!

Worth a look and better value than Miller n Carter ! Can be cool in the winter.

What a find! We visited recently and couldn't fault the restaurant at all. Food was amazing and the market menu is such good value for money. Portion sizes were huge, food was delicious and the team were so lovely. Struggled to find anything to complain about at all. We will definitely be back. The rump steak was delicious, cut like butter and was so tasty. The jenga chips were huge and chunky and the service was fab. The restaurant was really busy for a Tuesday in March but the team coped very well and the food was served at a good pace. We will definitely be back!

First time, great food and service

Absolutely excellent food here. Especially for the price. It's around Miller & Carter prices but a bit better quality. Was seated in the glass conservatory bit at the front and it could have been slightly cleaner (had to swap out some cutlery etc) but the food was amazing. Service was good but we weren't really checked on after the food arrived and had to go up for the bill. Very excellent just slightly rough around the edges (a bit like Blackpool tbh 😭). Would recommend the 24oz ribeye sharer and parmesan fries were lovely.

awful experience from start to finish. We walked in and was greeted with ‘have you booked’ and to ‘just follow that guy’ ‘that guy’ just walked into a staff area so we just felt like gooseberries. We found the original lady who said he’s gone upstairs. We went upstairs awkwardly and he just said ‘yeah sit wherever’. Sat down, given menus 5 mins later, had to ask to order drinks. Ordered our meals a bit after, drinks took a while. Our meals came, we had to get our own salt etc. and I had to search for someone for some vinegar. I ordered fillet medium and my mum sirloin well done. My mum’s came medium and mine rare. No-one actually came so my mum tried to find someone but ended up waiting and eventually asked for hers to be cooked more ( I just went with mine as I couldn’t be bothered). I ended up eating my meal, my mum ate hers after… no apologies or can I do anything else etc. I just wanted to get out so as soon as mum finished I asked for the bill, no-one actually asked us how things were etc and I was tired. We waited for a card machine but no one came so went to get up to pay downstairs when someone came and we paid and left. All in all I would not recommend, looks amazing on pics.. food is ok and service is shocking, not bad prices though I suppose. It was also very cold upstairs even though I requested on my booking to be down but there was no seats.

Went for an early birthday lunch for my boyfriend as he’s an avid steak lover. This place was decorated beautifully and had such a nice vibe. Our server lottie was absolutely lovely and genuine. The food was insane, we both had steak and dauphinoise potatoes and it was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be coming back to eat here again!

Absolutely amazing, and very reasonably priced, we had Tempura Prawns and ribs to start, the batter was light and the king prawns were fantastic, the ribs were perfect with plenty of meat on them. Ribeye and Rump for mains both cooked to perfection, exactly how we requested. Service was impeccable, staff could not be more helpful. Highly recommend.

Have been before and it was as good as last time. Staff were very attentive. Food was excellent. We had Garlic Bread to start. Then a Sirloin steak/ a Rump steak and a Steak & Kidney pie. Steaks were cooked just to our liking, pie was excellent. Would recommend this to all. We will be back

10/10 steak, was late and accommodated for us even though we was late and didn’t rush us. I would highly recommend!

Dined out on Valentines Day evening. 3 steaks.. and a tornedo rossini. All cooked correctly..all piping hot..cold draught ales..no desserts ordered we were too full

While spending a night in Blackpool, we looked for a nice place to eat and stumbled upon this gem through Google search. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival, and even though we hadn't booked in advance, we got a table without any trouble. Though the service wasn't overly slow, it did feel like an extra pair of hands would have eased the workload for the waitress, who seemed to be multitasking effortlessly. Nevertheless, she managed everything with grace. We ordered the Chateaubriand, and it was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. The sides and desserts were also really good. We'll definitely be coming back the next time we're in Blackpool.

An outstanding & very pleasant experience this evening with my partner. The food was sensational and we simply couldn't get enough. The chefs definitely know how to cook a steak and various other sea food/home warming dishes to a Michelin standard. Our waitress Donna was an absolute delight. Donna made us feel very welcome and made the experience feel personalised to us and catered to our every needs. 10/10 would recommend anyone in the area to visit and stimulate your taste spuds.

The food is lovely and the staff are so very friendly and attentive. Really nice atmosphere. Great value overall, especially, off peak season market menu. Lovely pork and short ribs, steaks. Great sharing plates, good portions and one of the best among many places. This is one of the few places that I have recommended and one my friends hotel recommends with many many repeat visitors going back time and time again. Nothing is too much trouble for them to ensure, that your meal is what you anticipated. They certainly have always as a team from the manager, the chefs and all staff want to give you that great level of service and delight in the delicious food that they serve. Great for single travellers to groups, they will look after you and worth a visit to the South Shore

Just had a fabulous evening at the Eating inn, food superb and staff great, nothing to much trouble, will be back in not to distant future.

Came with my partner and 4 daughters for my birthday meal and the service was fast and one of if not the best steaks I’ve ever had. Peppercorn sauce was lovely and the cocktails and desserts were great. We left full and happy. Recommend for anyone especially if you like proper steaks

Fancied steak and this place didn’t disappoint. Good cuts perfectly cooked with generous accompaniments. Staff were attentive and very pleasant throughout and we were pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived. A good find and next time we’re back in Blackpool will be top of our to do list. Visited for NYE. The place was almost full at 7pm, and there was a lovely atmosphere. We were seated quickly, and drinks orders taken soon after. Food orders were taken promptly, and the food came within 15/20 minutes. The steaks were absolutely fantastic, cooked to perfection, and all the accompaniments were delicious. The deserts of strawberry cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding finished off a fantastic meal perfectly. The service was friendly and efficient, and a credit to the restaurant. The last 4 years we have gone to Miller and Carter, but fancied a change, and we’re glad we did. Our meal was perfect, can’t wait to visit again

Really poor service, bordering rude bar the manager. 20 mins from taking the first drink order to actually seeing a drink! Followed by a 6 person order. Mostly steak and each steak (rib eye) were inedible. Some got sides, Others didn’t. No consistency at all! The peppercorn sauce tastes as though it was mixed with Diane sauce so was very odd. We secured a discount off one meal and 15% off the other two inedible steaks. Offered a desert. They revisited 20 mins later to ask if we fancied a desert ( a desert menu hadn’t even made it to the table) so at this point we’re was over it. Second time in the last 3 months of poor service so deserve a negative review. Last time we’ll be visiting here. It seems to be on its way down hill

Turned away twice this week because the kitchen was closed due to it being quiet yet there were 8 tables occupied, 1st time we didn't book granted but 2nd time booked for 20:30 to be told the booking didn't go through and the kitchen is closed yet again, no wonder it's quiet when you turn customers away.

Tried this place after reading the reviews left by others. I was not disapointed, friendly staff and the steak was fantastic and cooked just the way I asked. First time I have been here as I was only visiting Blackpool, but it won't be the last.

Out of season means Sunday Lunch. Cant beat it bargain and quality is exceptional as is thenservice and friendliness of the staff.

Went for Sunday lunch.. Me and hubby had pate for starters very tasty and smooth, portions very big absolutely amazing.. Then to mains hubby had the Sunday roast and dad and myself had sirloin steaks me with Stilton sause my dad's with Diane.. my dad had onion rings I had chips.. Chips were really chunk and really tasty and the onion rings 🤣🤣never seen any that big before he woofed them away and they must of been good as he's 90 n not a big eater now to the staff.. Lucy was the first too greet us and always had a smile on her face and Donna as well both absolutely lovely welcoming and attentive and also a big shout out for Lee from the kitchen who recommended the restaurant in the first place.. First visit but most definitely will not be our last.. Excellent food and service

Excellent, as always. My partner and I have eaten here for a few years but this was the 1st time we came with the family. A special meal for my daughters 21st birthday. I dropped a balloon off earlier in the day and the table was set lovely for our arrival. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are all smiley, friendly and efficient, even when busy. There was a couple of items on the menu not available but the menu is such that this is never a problem. 4 of us had steak, different cuts, and we were all pleased with how we wanted them cooked and the flavour is fantastic, the other non steak dishes were also very much enjoyed even catering well for a vegetarian. There is also a good choice on the drinks menu with a dedicated bar person mixing cocktails. All in all another fab night at the Eating Inn, we will be back.

Myself and my girlfriend visit here semi-regularly, this is consistently, in our opinion, one of the best steakhouses in the north of England, if not the entire UK. Steak always delicious and cooked to perfection every single time, sides and starters always taste incredibly fresh too - a lot of top restaurants often overlook these elements. Atmosphere always top notch, remarkably good value too. On our most recent visit our opening nibbles were not brought out to us before our mains (it was a very busy evening) - not a big deal as our mains were more than filling. On telling the man who I assume is the manager, he profusely apologised and took the starters as well as a round of drinks off our bill - an example of the top, friendly service that will keep us coming back.

The best steak I ever had in UK. The best garlic bread with caramelised onions, no photo cause I ate it once it arrived. The online reservation is easy, better have one cause it’s always full.

The worst steak house I’ve ever been too, I wouldn’t feed it to a refugee. That’s bad because I would literally feed a refugee (horse shhiint)and sleep at night so if your thinking of going avoid it like the plague because that’s what it is... the plague.if the staff wasn’t so nice they’d be wearing it…. Food and service was spot on. My first visit yesterday and it was amazing. Had a booking and got seated straight away. The server got on with taking our orders and did not have to wait long for our meals. The sweet chilli dip was the best for me it worked well with the chicken strips I had for starters. Please AVOID if you have been before and enjoyed the great service!! Visited tonight, table for 5, booked the restaurant but was told on arrival, “aww honey there’s just no space in the restaurant we’re too busy!” So we were seated in the conservatory, it was absolutely freezing, half of the heaters weren’t on, the manager (assume he was) questioned a waiter about why they weren’t on and was told they were broken? He just grunted and went back inside. The food is always good, that’s not the problem, the service is! Part of the order didn’t come, so I just told them to forget it as I was midway through my meal. We weren’t asked if we needed any sauces? we had to ask, and we weren’t offered a desert menu? They also ran out of ice?? I mean really? So we couldn’t get another cocktail? Service just a sham, won’t be back again sorry!!

a top class restaurant very good food

Recommended by the host at our B&B (Wescoe Guesthouse) so took a leap of faith. few issues with draft lager but was soon sorted by the staff. Meal was lovely. Can’t fault it at all.

Absolutely fantastic food ,I had the sirloin /fillet and was perfect the sides starters also fantastic,booked on a Sunday evening,it is a very busy place so booking is needed ,good for children too with a kids menu,only downside for me is I asked for another beer with my meal and it never came ,the young lad forgot but he was extremely busy so really he saved me a few calories 👍......great place

Everything fabulous as always, we shared Camembert stater, Fillet Steak and SeaBass for main - all excellent. Hoping they introduce more chicken / fish choices but it’s fab for meat eaters - service and atmosphere excellent.

My friends and I were on our holiday and decided to stop in. This was honestly one of the BEST steaks we have had. Would VERY highly recommend this establishment to anyone as you would not be disappointed. The service was fast with very happy and brilliant staff. We've lived in Blackpool for twenty years and visited the Eating Inn for the first time ever yesterday. Because I saw good reviews on here. This is a simple review compared to some I've done. We had posh fish and chips x 2 and a burger, three of us. It was all perfect, as was the service and everything else. I had a feeling that other diners were regulars and we will certainly be back. It's also very good to attend a non chair restaurant but a private independent one. Excellent.
