Number One South Beach in Blackpool

This was my first stay here and it exceeded what were already high expectations! Lovely room, good parking, fantastic breakfast, nice lounge and bar area plus the service provided by Monique and Mark was exceptional. Will definitely be booking another visit here very soon.

A really warm welcome at Number One South Beach. The room was super - they really have thought of everything that you could possibly want, from air freshner in the bathroom to robes and slippers. Breakfast was delicious. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, particularly if you want to be 'in' Blackpool, but at the quieter end. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Great little hotel, very nicely presented in every way. Very friendly, quality staff. Well worth a visit. A shame they don't do dinner (dining room is for breakfast only), and it's at the very south of the promenade, but on the tram line, just yards away, so easy to get around. Happy to return.

Stay at the hotel for one night. Was really surprised by the quality and service. Will definitely come back for a longer stay.

Hotel is fantastic and all the staff are wonderful. We will definately stay again. Its a rare thing to find people as nice as they all are.

Absolutely brilliant hotel value for money food good everywhere lovely and clean and can't praise staff highly enough nothing to much trouble. Would recommend this hotel to anyone even the Royal family that is how good it is will definitely be back.

Because it is a 5*. My wife and I have stayed here before for a week's holiday in August 2020 and we have returned Friday 3rd June until Monday 6th June 2022 and everything is still as good as it was back then.

This place has fantastic rooms and the staff are great. The breakfast is also plentiful.

This is a good hotel to stay in. It is just off the main drag so there is no noise and chaos from the stag dos and party goers but also just a few minutes walk to the Pleasure Beach theme park and the South Pier. The rooms were very clean and the staff/owners were just great. The only meal we had there was breakfast and both times it was excellent. And there are places to park the car for free! The price was about a third of the Big Blue hotel therefore great value for money. I would happily stay here again.

Came here once again for our usual Christmas meal with our friends. The service, freshly prepared food and banter from the owners is amazing, they make you feel so valued, thank you number one we will be back.

Back again to this lovely hotel, we like that every room is so different, the owners and staff are very helpful and friendly.This small hotel has a lift from the ground floor so it makes it accessible for people in wheelchairs or with sticks, or like us getting on in years.Breakfast is always made to order and there is always a good choiceWe are only a two minute walk from the tram stop into Blackpool itself which makes for easy movement around.We would highly recommend it here.

We booked this hotel only to arrive to find we had been given a second floor room but due to having a hip replacement I can’t manage the stairs.... then to be told the lift was out off order.When I booked the hotel I did request lower floor to booking.com and the hotel. Really upsetting as it’s been a bad year for me I am just getting over kidney cancer so just the travelling as taken it’s toll on me.,We booked because it’s our 33rd wedding anniversary and researching hotels we choose this hotel.The hotel looked beautiful and the young lady was sympathetic.I was so happy thinking we had found a place together to celebrate. We have been trying since 4pm to find something else and ended up with just a standard room @ 18.30pm..,.I feel drained and let down badly improvisations should be put in place because this should have been a better experience for me and my husband Carol Brown

I added a review earlier today in which I commented on a few matters about our stay at the above hotel and the reaction of the man we spoke to about this. I have just had a phone call to apologise for his reaction this morning and to explain that he was not really with it as he was jet lagged. He has also taken on board our comments and is taking action to sort out the problems we mentioned. I am happy with that, thank you

I have stayed at Number One South Beach at least a dozen times with colleagues. It is great to be welcomed back as family each time! The rooms are huge, all with settees, large tv and a tv over the bath, which happens to be a jacuzzi type! The ensuite has a separate shower and the bathroom always has a good amount of consumables (and not the cheap type!)! Other touches such as dressing gowns, slippers, remote light switch, hot chocolate all help! They don’t serve evening meals unless pre-arranged but breakfast is FINE! Pre-order the evening before from the comprehensive menu. In the morning it is all bought to the table by the friendly team. My personal favourites are the porridge (with currants!), poached eggs and fried bread! I highly recommend NumberOne though book early as it gets busier each time I visit!

We ate here last Sat night even though the hotel was quiet. They made the effort to open 'just for us' which was appreciated after a busy day. I really enjoyed my sea bass. Both the chef and the other owner materialised to have a chat and explain the history of the Winter Gardens. My only suggestion would be to have a B plan for fussy food teens. Although I was too embarrassed to ask for beans on toast! I probably will next time... as it was I ate one and a half dinners...

Only has breakfast but it was fantastic. Everything fresh and piping hot. You can tell they dont use cheap ingredients, even down to the orange juice coffee. Wished I was there another night to have another breakfast.

Nos alojamos aquí hace un par de años durante uno de nuestros viajes de fin de semana a Blackpool. Las habitaciones eran estupendas, muy cómodas, espaciosas y bien decoradas, la comida era una maravilla y los dueños son gente maravillosa, amable y cortés - nos sentimos bienvenidos y como en casa aquí.

We were welcomed as in the past by the chef/owner and made really at home. We had a variety of top class dishes in a meal that lasted 3 hours ( with wines !!). In the past one or two of us have stayed the night in the boutique accommodation which is to be recommended. We will return in the future, thankyou.

On a recommendation we had lunch at this restaurant. It was absolutely delicious. 3 generous courses from a good wide choice, well cooked and presented by helpful, courteous staff. We will certainly be back.

Hemos reservado en aquí de nuevo para octubre para ver las luces. La parada de tranvía está justo bajando la calle. Esta es una zona tranquila de Blackpool, pero no lejos de la ciudad.

Tuvimos una comida mientras se aloja en el hotel, la comida estaba muy bien preparado y presentado, lo que es más importante, sabía muy bien, era una comida de tres platos, esto es elegante, así que no están pagando precios Promenade fish and chips pero...

the hotel was ours for the weekend all rooms booked by friends and family the staff we friendly and professional the food was delicious and the whole hotel was very clean and welcoming and we had a super time

6 of us went for my friends 60th birthday, Starters was fine then it went down hill from there, I had lamb ,but took me all my time to cut it with a normal knife , my friend had steak and had the same problem, we were not offered steak knifes, we were asked to order our dessert ,so they could turn off the ovens , we had only been eating for 1hr 10 min, which was pretty fast, to be ordering dessert, we did ask if we could leave it for a while , but was told it would be best to order, as it would take 20mins for it to arrive, I had the eton mess , but only found 1 very small piece of meringue, which was soft ,.We felt rushed , we were so disappointed, we couldn't have a chat between courses,.we felt rushed ,

I recently stayed here with my boyfriend, from the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and attentive, even taking time to advise us on local attractions, directions etc. I recommend eating in the restaurant at least once as the quality is excellent and our room was very clean with lots of nice little touches. We did not stay in the hotel....only ate.Food not up to expectations considering the four and half rating on here. The Eggs Royale starter: only half a muffin which was rock hard; portion of smoked salmon minuscule. The sirloin steak main course: poor quality steak: sauce bland; charged an extra £2 for the privilege...making it £17.95. Overall....disappointed with the food.Wine and drinks over priced.Overcharged for the starters....as two at £4.95 does not equal £12.40.We are very local and were expecting much better....we will not be going again....or recommending the restaurant....as there is too much competition nearby!

Didn't stay at the number one, but booked the restaurant for 11 of us for my birthday! The menu choice was fantastic and tailor made to what we wanted! We were the only ones in as it was a Monday evening. The staff were absolutely amazing, really friendly and attentive, lovely ambiance to the restaurant and bar area. We chose the 3 course menu at £25 per person, however, there were lots of other choices available! Thank you to mark and his team for an excellent night. Will definitely be returning for a meal!

I and 6 family members had the pleasure of eating here on Saturday to celebrate my 50th birthday. Years ago, the family, had eaten at the owners previous establishment, the Old Coach House and had a good experience there, so I had always wanted to try their new place at harrowside. I was not disappointed. The decor, and ambiance were excellent, subdued lighting but just right not ridiculous. The layout of the table beautiful (I am big on table layouts)But more importantly, the service and food excellent cooked to a very high standard. And a very reasonable price for formal dinning. I Would not hesitate (and indeed have) in recommending ths excellent restaurant to others and making another visit sometime soon. Husband's 60th!

We have a beautiful four poster bed with a door which leads out to a large balcony. Everything from the friendly staff to the sumptuous breakfast to the mouthwatering dinner is excellent. Will definitely be staying here again. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and having been diagnosed with cancer last year, we could not go abroad. We wanted to stay somewhere luxurious and we found it here.

Visited 'we 5' the other day we had an excellent meal an service was brilliant. Will certianly be visiting here when I'm in Blackpool again!

We were given a dinner voucher by Hollowells (funeral services) and having tried the other two venues on the voucher (and not too overly impressed) we decided to try here! Never heard of it until now!It was a comfortable lounge, a very friendly helpful bar steward and absolutely delicious food! The steak and mushroom pie was recommended to us and wow it was excellent! Home-made chips and home made chicken liver pate - the best ever! The atmosphere was relaxing and the decor very contemporary. The chef came out and chatted with various diners and was most amiable. It was overall a great dining experience and we would definitely return and also recommend!

If you enjoy delicious food in a friendly, relaxed and wonderful restaurant then we recommend you try the Number One South Beach.Been every year for the past 3 years, and all I can say is the food is delicious, the atmosphere perfect and it feels as wonderful as going to your best friends house for an amazing meal and night out - just spot on.It just feels so right, everything is spot on; the welcome, the menu, the price, the portion sizes, the service, the timings of courses and the relaxed friendly environment. It all makes for a perfect meal out.Mark the owner and fabulous cook talked to us before we ordered and made sure he understood exactly what we liked and wanted, he even added some wonderful extras to the main course. We will be going back very soon.

we loved the food the chef was lovely he introduced himself and with fussy eaters among our group he made sure the food was what everyone wanted. we stayed here and the breakfasts were lovely as well. couldn't recommend the food enough

We had our retired friends Xmas Dinner here for the second year running. As last year, the food was excellent and the menu had choices that satisfied everyone. Mark's cooking is the best in the area and we will certainly return in the future. Thankyou.

Without doubt, Number One South Beach offers lovely decor, high-quality food and, in general, friendly staff. However, one (seemingly senior) male member of staff really does not seem to possess the level of self-awareness and customer service that is necessary for working in the service industry and this, unfortunately, marred our experience. After Sunday lunch (3 good-sized courses) we asked if we could have a quick walk around the adjacent Solaris Centre first and then come back for coffee on our return. We were told, quite categorically, that we could not - shame as I was going to leave the cash tip with coffee (I had already paid the bill on my credit card and always leave a tip in cash with coffee). I should say that the female waitress was lovely - it's a real pity that she didn't get her tip as she deserved it. Why invest in the hardware if you don't get the right soft skills to back it up? Perhaps the guy that banned us from returning for coffee is one of the investors in this case??? We all had three courses, pre-lunch drinks and a very good bottle of wine so I would have thought he should have gone the extra mile; unfortunately, he did not.

Went to blackpool to see Michael Ball in concert (What a show!!!!!) and found Number Oneon this website. We were greeted by Graham, were introduced to Janet (his wife) and immediately felt like we'd known them for years! Nothing was too much trouble , the room was absolutely glorious (with a balcony no less, complete with sun loungers!). We were extremely impressed by their efforts to be 'green' and fully support them in their endeavours. Mark cooked our breakfasts and they were just great - again, nothing was too much trouble; not often you fnd that in this day and age! We couldn't believe somewhere like this existed and will be recommending it most highly. Many thanks to all concerned for making our stay a lovely (5* !!) experience.

I had been excited about a planned visit to this restaurant having heard lots of very positive comments about it's style and menu before it's opening, however the reality of my experience was a great let down. The decor is very good, contemporary, clean, fashionable and of the moment however it didn't convey any atmosphere. (The lack of any diners other than the five that made up our party didn't help.) The guy who welcomed us was the Chef/Patron I guess he was bored as he never left us alone, he never tired of telling us how good he was and the secrets of his success! I take it this was normal and could account for the lack of customers? His absence whilst he cooked our food came as a relief and a welcome break as my ears were now tired!The food was ok, but no more than that , it was priced for a quality of ingredients and service that wasn't delivered. I've never even considered returning. In fact when it has been suggested as venue by others I have always said that I would opt out.I wouldn't normally have entered a review as I do not want to be negative and it wasn't all bad. I has presumed that my experience could have been a "one off"? However I have spoken to many people since who seem to share my opinion as a result of their experience I feel justified in offering my opinion.
