The best restaurants serving British food in England

What a lovely place for breakfast! The staff were really friendly and the coffee and bacon sandwich was yummy. There's quite a lot of choice in Orpington for breakfast, but I will definitely be going back to The Bakehouse. Great atmosphere and really clean. The coffee was served hot and was very tasty. The prices are really good too!

Sat at an outside table in the sun. I ordered Fish Tacos. Took a while to arrive as they were busy but worth the wait. The scones are my usual go to as they are amazing but they didn't have any left! Have eaten here many times but never experienced their Gin bar.

We really enjoyed the carvery at the Manor House today: excellent food and plenty of it. Good value too. Although the pub was busy the staff were very pleasant and attentive. I would happily recommend the Sunday carvery to anyone.

We only live 15 minutes away but took us a while to finally dine in this lovely place. Food was absolutely stunning, full of flavours, beautifully cooked. I had tuna, my husband beef carpacio to start with, fantastic! Only slices could be bit thiner to my liking, but still amazing. To follow we choose venison for myself and ox cheek for my husband and again, what a feast! Tender meats, genius composition on the plate. We are not dessert people so we finish on mains. Cocktails and wnies lovely too. Only one thing I couldn't get over with was carrying glasses with wine to the table without tray and hold by glass. But overall we enjoyed our evening and will be definitely back for those fantastic flavours. Great value for money. Thank you

Superb place for a slice of quiche type of lunch. Lovely home made fare, delightful service, ‘ tucked away from it all’ ambience. Wholesome fare.

Great establishment. Clean and wholesome cafe No frills, just good food! Great owners that you can have a bit of banter with. All good in my humble opinion.

Era la primera vez que iba después de que me dijeran lo genial que era este lugar. No estaba particularmente ocupado, pero todavía tomó 20 minutos para tomar nuestro pedido y luego después de otros 30 minutos solo habíamos recibido nuestras bebidas. Otros clientes que habían llegado después de nosotros habían recibido su comida así que fuimos a pedir que nos dijeran que no lo habían empezado así que nos fuimos sin tener nada que comer. No estaría volviendo.

Este es un excelente hotel de casa de campo y uno que obviamente es popular entre los visitantes que resintonizan varias veces. La comida suele ser de muy alta calidad y estándar , presentada a un alto nivel. Sin embargo, en una visita reciente, los platos fuertes de la tarde, aunque presentados al estándar normal, se encontraron tibios y obviamente chapados previamente. En ambos días de nuestra estancia los platos de carne obviamente se habían cocinado mucho antes de la comida. De que otra manera al pedir filete de filete , uno mediano y otro medio a bien se presentaron ambos iguales , luke warm y bien hecho .

Found this place by doing a web search for “best breakfast in Alnwick”. Big car park.. Attentive professional staff. Nice dining room (with a little shop) Great coffee. Quality breakfasts - one ‘full’ and one Foxy scone I think it was called. Good sausages! Two slight observations. I’m never a fan of places taking what could have been a lovely moist piece of bacon and flattening it and essentially drying it out so it’s stiff as a board, but hey ho, it was bacon I suppose. Also (and this happens absolutely everywhere in my experience - which is a bit odd) when beans come in a separate ramekin (if that’s the right word) they’re never piping hot. Overall it was a great visit.

Had coffee and cake. Lovely caramel shortbread - both dark chocolate and milk chocolate varieties available. Chatty friendly staff.

Lovely food, reasonably priced. Great coffee and a warm service. Love the plants! Would come back again when next in the area.

Found this place today and WOW the burgers the we had were damn good. Highly recommend Smoqe and will definitely be back sometime

Lovely pub, amazing Sunday roast. Massively recommended.
