Great small villages pub , lively at weekends and good atmosphere. Serving food from special guest catering at weekends also coffee, cakes and sandwiches at lunchtimes . Lovely outside areas to chill and big garden for children to run around. Games bar with pool , table skittles and board games. Live music accasionally at weekends.

We stopped down on our journey as it is just off the M1. and had some of the breakfast baps and beer. Tasted very fresh and high quality. Would recommend!

Went for one of the euro games. Amazing place great staff and didn't even have to wait long for a pint. Will definitely be visiting again

Just popped in for a pint as never been in before, we were made to feel incredibly welcome! ended up staying for another round and a pizza! Will be back!

Great little pub with friendly staff. Decent sized garden with plenty of tables. Serves both Aspalls (£4.80 👍) and Thatcher's Haze. Defo go again if I was in the area.

It is very soulful here. As in every village pub. Plus a lot depends on the amount drunk.

Super pub. Well looked after garden. Ghost Ship on tap. Weren't doing food on Saturday lunchtime but landlady offered to make me a bacon roll. Wish I could have come back in the evening for the pizzas. Has kept it's pool table which is always a good decision.

Visited with twelve walkers and we were made very welcome. Friendly village pub with nice interior and lovely garden. Simple lunch menu of sandwiches and jacket potatoes that everyone enjoyed (and you can add chips for a pound). There is also a specials board and they do Sunday lunch. Well worth a visit and the surrounding countryside has lots of footpaths to work up an appetite.

Great little pub in Harpole. About to change management on the 28th of July, 2022. Lovely atmosphere including the locals, hikers and passers-by. Barmaid was exceptionally nice. I have included the local church as it is a great example of church architecture.

Great roast on Sunday. We had a chicken and veg and vegan roast. Probably best roast I have had in a restaurant. Just a shame no vegan Yorkshire or swap but everything on the plate was delicious.

We’d booked this a couple of months ago for a gathering of friends, so glad we got to experience this hidden treasure in Harpole. Since booking we learned the pub is closing down due to the recent energy price increased, which will be a huge loss to Northamptonshire. Limited parking is available, the food was lovely, the service friendly and the pub was beautiful inside, what more is their to say? Try this before we lose a hidden jewel of Northamptonshire.

I have been here on my travels in the Northampton area and remember it as a great place to visit as well as the village and surrounding areas. It is very sad to read of spiralling costs associated with maintaining high standards, which makes it impossible for many businesses to survive, especially when someone has put so much effort in and this has been undermined by costs. I hope some business group (or community trust) takes over to keep it going like what has happened during the pandemic with some pubs which would have otherwise closed for good. A great village pub to visit.

We just popped out for a pub lunch and thought of the Live and Let Live. So glad we did! The food was wonderful and very reasonable. The landlady is lovely and very welcoming. The place is just what a British pub should be. Highly recommend.

This experience lasted nearly 3 hours ,booked in for 1830hrs a few adjustments and we was ready to go, menu for the children and drinks menu was asked for and eventually a children's menu arrived but the the drink menu didn't , barman /waiter said he would look for them eventually he came over and said he couldn't find them and asked for our orders for drinks and food . We ordered and said not Cajun chicken as it was too spicy for the grandchildren as they don't like spicy food, low and behold food came out with two of the menu's being Cajun chicken ,the waiter/barman who had more hair on his chin than brain cells took this order , fortunately a lady sorted Barman out ,got the children's meals sorted however adults now have there food grandchildren with none, we're now a meal behind thinking it couldn't get worse . I went to the bar to find out why?. Asking why the meal was not what we asked for with spicy chicken he said we had nothing else . so I said" why didn't you say you had nothing else so we could have ordered different because we now have children with no food and adults with food ".this was left with a blank expression .Now thinking life and supporting local businesses gets better, I went to order a jack Daniel's and coke full fat for a good mate ,The single shot of Jack danials went in then to my horror an open can of coke was poured in then bearded barman went to the left ,as I was looking and came back with an other open coke and poured that in . I asked him about the open tins of coke and he said it was from his drink earlier . 🤔The drink cost £4.00 so have I paid for a shot of JD for that amount ?.with someone else's flat coke ? . Overall it was overcooked and over priced food. I like to leave on a positive and really it was the rear view mirror as we drove off.

A very friendy pub with outstanding food. They even rustled up a couple of sausages for our dog so he didn't feel left out. Very reasonable prices too.

First time here. Amazing pub that manages to combine the feel of a local Pub with a great dining venue. Had the the Steak and Ale pie, absolutely superb, make sure you're hungry, it was large. Added bonus, they have my favourite Ale, Proper Job. Landlady Miranda could not have been nicer. Apparently, the vegetarian and vegan options go down a storm, even with the carnivores. Not my thing, but nice to know. We will be back.

We visited this evening 02-02-22 for a very enjoyable evening. The food was fantastic, Proper Job on tap and the atmosphere in the pub so warm and friendly. Thank you Miranda for making us feel so welcome … we will be back very soon. Would highly recommend.

Lovely vegan food and great service

Bitterly disappointed with the management of this establishment. Most ales out of stock. Ran out of Guinness middle of the night. Owner of the pub very rude and not inviting in any way whatsoever, very hostile.

Large booking for a Sunday. First time visit. All staff very friendly,warm and helpful. Lovely atmosphere and decor. Food was excellent and all plates were empty. Couldn’t fault anything. Will definitely be returning. Glad we found this place!

First time here. Myself and two friends enjoyed a lovely mid week meal here last week. Lovely pub restaurant. Food very tasty. There was a minor hiccup with the order but certainly nothing to complain about, but the lovely lady in charge was so apologetic and couldn’t have been nicer, offering a free round of drinks (which we declined) and also took 10% off the bill which wasn’t at all necessary, as she had apologised for the very minor error and offered to put it right straight away. Can’t ask for much more really. We will certainly be back! 😊

Went out for dinner tonight at this restaurant What can I say. Lovely people very helpful. Food very good and I'm sorry to the chef as I couldn't eat all my food. Lovely atmosphere and I enjoyed the music. Will be coming again but will ask for a smaller portion next time.

A group of us went to the Ibiza Classics Bank Holiday Night. It was such a good night. I have to say the staff really make you feel welcome and go above and beyond. I didnt have food but those that did said it was sooo good. Love the pub decor and the garden is lovely. Will definitely be back :-) x

I can't speak highly enough of the amazing service and quality in providing food and welcoming to the establishment. I didn't taste the food but my friends told me it's banging. We were left stranded by a taxi company and the land lady drove us home across town so we were safe. I couldn't ask for anymore from service and humanity from such a nice person. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HAVING US🥳❤️

Loved it, great place, people and amazing food

My wife and I, plus our great friends, had booked a table here for after our visit to Althorp House. We arrived early, which wasn’t a problem at all. Our table was ready and waiting for us. We didn’t have to go to the bar for ordering, the staff came to our table and took our food and drink orders. The drinks arrived quickly and, when the food came not long afterwards, we were full of praise. The women had the fish and chips and the men had steak & ale pie and chilli con carne, plus a huge side order of fries. We couldn’t fault anything and would definitely visit again if we returned to the area.

Friendly, fantastic staff made my son so welcome at a difficult period...food lovely and great choice of beers. Entertainment great although not been there on a night...yet! And all sports

Lovely little place Ordered 2 mains, 1 pud and 4 pints £55, average prices . Staff lovely and polite. Food served on a hot plate always a good thing. Steak lovely, pud was delicious and I’d recommend a side of coleslaw for sure. Service was fine. I’d recommend it and will probably return. Always thought it was a drinking pub rather than foodie so never went before

Great pub, lovely Sunday lunch, excellent service and very friendly. Looking forward to returning to try the full menu. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were all very attentive especially as they were having to serve drinks as well as food. A great selection of drinks and food all prepared really well and cooked to perfection. The only thing that we noticed was that we would have liked the dinner plates to be less basic and the meal would have looked more refined if served on a more stylish plate, They don’t do the quality of the food justices.

Visited for the first time in 10 years, warm friendly welcoming attitude. Managing social distancing very well with a smile, very clear instructions. Great atmosphere. Menu looked good. Will try next time. We will be back. Happy to give thumbs up. Polite staff that does not cost anything.

Ordered Roast Beef for hubby, myself and two neighbours (ONLY £7 EACH)- delivered piping hot - lovely food and gravy - what a lockdown treat. We will definitely repeat the experience AND try other choices on other days - cannot wait for the next treat.

I had already been treated to a lockdown Sunday roast from the live and let live pub by my parents a few weeks ago and we thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so we decided to treat my mum for her lockdown 70th Birthday surprise. I cannot fault the service from Miranda and her team who happily helped us with our request the food was delivered on time and was piping hot. It was delicious and the service they provided was so professional. Thoroughly recommend this pub for their excellent customer service.

Last Sunday we decided to order Sunday Roast Lunch for 'lockdown' delivery, we were not disappointed. Our lunch was delivered promptly at our requested time, all piping hot. We had both chosen lamb which was tender, very tasty and served with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and vegetables. Our dessert of apple crumble served with custard was delicious. Great food and really good value for money.

After hearing great reviews, we decided to order Sunday lunch, we were not disappointed! The menu had good choices and a quick phone call was all it took to order. We picked up our food on time and it was still piping hot by the time we got home. The food was delicious and plentiful at a brilliant price. The chocolate brownie was to die for!

We had a takeaway during these terrible times for the whole family. It was ready for collection at the exact time ordered and tasted delicious. Thank you doing a great job.

Had a late Saturday lunch here with a party of 10 adults. The Landlady was very welcoming, all the staff were very friendly and the food once ordered came out really promptly.A great varied menu to choose from, we ordered a mixture of main meals all the food was really tasty, good portions and arrived at the same time.Thoroughly recommend the steak and ale pie which my husband and his friend had.Consensus from our group was that the salmon was divine the scampi was gorgeous and the new vegan burger was unbelievably tasty. The Chef also came out to check we were happy with the food. Well done the Live!

Nice village pub . Good atmosphere

The atmosphere was good. We didn't eat but food looked nice and the Tribute beer was good too. Would have scored it higher but for two reasons. One the Proper Job beer was not right and the lady behind the bar really could have been more welcoming.

Went for lunch with a friend to celebrate her birthday. Small place but nice inside, the young couple running it were friendly The food was good. Would go again.

On my visit it was very nice inside. The barmaid was quite short with, us not a warm welcome that you would have expected. But over all a nice place to go for a few drinks and some food.

Fabulous roast beef, plenty of other options too. Meal was prompt, generous portions and very tasty. Desert was to die for - toffee and clotted cream filled Yorkshire with raspberries. Unique desert that was very well presented and equally delicious. Lives up to its 5 star food rating. Such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and nothing is a bother. Would highly recommend a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

Booked a Sunday lunch by e-mail didn't get a message back so had to ring they said they had a problem with there service the starter was lovelybrixworth pate with warm baguette and my partner had the Cullen skunk the mains we had were beef for me and g ammon for him very nice

Ok if you live locally. Hard to find as looks like a regular house.

On 16th November we had another family gathering for 20 people. Yet again it was a great night! The food was superb. As always served with a smile and nothing is ever too much trouble. Everything is reasonably priced. This is a great pub. Second to none.

I am fussy where I go to eat and had a lovely lunch here. We have just been for lunch. I had the meatball baguette which was very good. The marinara sauce had lots of flavour. The chips that came with it were chunky, crisp and hot. Even the side salad was good. The dressing was fresh and the leaves were varied. My friends also enjoyed their lunch. I will be back. I also thought that the prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity.

Our son had recommended this restaurant to us as it was about halfway to our destination and we are glad he did. Miranda is a great host and made us feel very welcome. The log burner was glowing when we got there which was great as there was a chill outside. The food was fantastic and was very reasonable. There was a great choice to suit all tastes. Loved the pate as a starter and the home made pie was a great choice for my main. It is home cooking at its best and we will certainly be returing as there is no reason to go anywhere else.

What a find. Stayed at the Premier Inn to split up a long journey, didn’t want to eat at The Beefeater and so came across this little gem. Excellent food and drink. The staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Don’t be put off by the walk if you are staying at the Premier Inn it took less than 10 minutes. Keep doing what you are doing Live and Let Live, amazing!

In the heart of this beautiful village, this is a cracking pub. Today as part of the Scarecrow Festival, they had great food and drinks, very busy, but a great atmosphere.

A cosy yet modern restaurant/pub in Harpole have yet to eat there

I have been to this pub four times in the last 12 months and each time it has been great. Our last visit was for 20 of us for a birthday celebration. Bearing in mind we have two chefs in the family and one little one with very specific dietary requirements, I suspect it was quite an evening for the pub staff and chef The food was excellent and the service was exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble! All I can say is the evening was SUPERB! I think this is going to be a regular haunt for us. I can't thank them enough. Definitely worth a visit.
