Little pub (like a 70's house really).. no longer doing food.. friendly staff .. Nice larger at a good price.. no car park

Nice little hidden gem of a pub tucked away from the road. Friendly bar staff and welcoming locals so an excellent way to spend the evening. Dog friendly too & a nice warm fire

Little hidden gem! Stumbled upon this pub looking for some dinner when the pub opposite our hotel was fully booked. Really glad we did! Lovely food, friendly atmosphere and a nice lig fire stove to warm the cockles. Added bonus of a lovely doggo to share our leftovers with (they don't skimp on portions. Definitely one to give a go if you're in the Silverstone area.

Just been for Sunday lunch, what a lovely experience! Set up is that of a traditional car very, we had a choice of beef (beautifully pink but could be cooked to taste), turkey or gammon. Generous portions though you could opt for a large serving for a small extra price. Self service to unlimited veg, ours were nicely cooked and very fresh. Good range of choices including braised red cabbage!! Lovely!!! Gravy, not usually my favourite part of a Sunday roast, was excellent. We didnt have dessert but could have chosen from spotted dick, sticky toffee pud etc. The decor in the pub is basic but clean and service quick and welcoming. Fantastic value for money and we will definitely be re visiting this little gem.

Warm and friendly welcome was emphasised by the cozy interior. The definition of a local pub, with perfectly poured pints and great food. There was a small issue with the food, but may have been due to personnal preference and/or late rush, but staff where overly-accomadating. Very kind, and friendly. A must visit for good food

The mixed grill is a man versus food extravaganza, you need to be hungry for this one ! But from fish and chips to pizza you can’t go wrong. A classic pub with warm and welcoming staff, what’s not to like ? Worth a visit any day but also do a great Sunday roast.

Fresh cooked food , lovely atmosphere and quaint village pub . Just of the A43 worth the visit and plenty in local attractions , we will go back .

Just going for a Sunday walk and went into the R Sun for a drink but had a lovely Sunday lunch ... really fresh .. shame more people don't try it .. good value for money ... we will be back ...

Visited the pub for a family and what a treat. The food was superb and great value for money. No cheap cuts, the steak was amazing and the chocolate brownie dessert a must have. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere made it a great evening.

Popped in for lunch by chance - led by sat nav! A very friendly welcome, and the best roast beef sandwiches we've ever had. We will be sure to call back if we are in the area again.

A group of 10 ladies had dinner at The Sun last night. Delicious food and great service..lots of clean plates and fun had. Would thoroughly recommend a visit. The chips are amazing!

A pleasent inn serving real ales, lagers, ciders in a well stocked bar. Rooms are all refurbished and ensuite. A very good menu with a lot of choice. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Now under new management. Certainly use it again. Convenient for Silverstone Race Circuit, 3 miles away.

Popped in for a Sunday Roast and we'll be coming back again to try out the rest of the menu for sure! For the quality of food I'm surprised at how inexpensive it was! Lots of various dishes on offer, we chose the Roast Beef and a Roast Gammon - cannot fault it at all. All home cooked and fresh. The staff were all wonderful, friendly and welcoming.

Arriving unannounced with a party of 12 people we had expected to be turned away but the extremely polite and friendly landlord accomodated us perfectly despite being short of staff on this occasion - he could not have been more welcoming. Food arrived remarkably quickly considering the circumstances and was cooked to perfection. It is a real shame that all pubs can't be as hospitable as this, we will definitely return when in the area again. Thank you very much.

Just off the A43 this is a cracking little pub serving good beer and good value food. Its position makes it a pleasant venue as you need to seek it out. The food is good, well cooked and reasonably priced. A good find and will visit again

Camping nearby, called for evening meal, wonderful place, great helpful staff. Food was gorgeous, hot with plenty of variety from every day to the more exotic on specials board. Prices too were very reasonable.

Stop off here with the family on the way back from Silverstone. Lovely sunny day so could sit outside. The four of us had different meals. Sampling Fish and chips, Steak, Roast Beef and Hunters chicken, we all cleared our plates - beautiful food!! This was all topped off with the super friendly staff! Very chatty and engaging. Would recommend and would visit again without a doubt.

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The food menu was suspiciously extensive, given the small number of other diners. When it arrived, it was OK, but I'm pretty sure that all of it was bought in from Brakes - there was little sign of anything actually being prepared on the premises. My wife had a fish pie which seemed disappointing given the price, but overall portions were fairly generous.

Great food, great atmosphere, great staff.Always feel welcome and prices aren't expensive.They also offer a B&B service.It's fast becoming our "local" even though we're about 8 miles from them!

we found this lovely little pub totally by accident,returning home from the grand national,we saw it signposted off the A43,between silverstone and brackley,on arriving at 14.40 we saw that food stopped at 15,00 carol the chef however was only too pleased to keep the kitchen open,and provided us with a lovely lunch,which was also very reasonably priced,this customer service deserves recognition,and a lovely traditional inn deserves a wider audience,thanks again.
