A great local pub offering well cooked, tasty food with friendly and helpful service. Sunday roast was excellent. Dog friendly too and a good garden at the rear.

What a fabulous pub! Started popping in here a month ago after a trip to Canons Ashby. It’s now become a weekly trip. We happily drive the 20 or so minutes and call this our local 😊. Great pub and great people.

Excellent food, generous portions and very well cooked. Often when having a Sunday lunch in a pub or restaurant it’s the roast potatoes that let them down. These were lovely and crispy. Excellent

Excellent village owned pub with good beer garden at the back. Good selection of ales and food available whilst open as well as formal meals at night. Bar staff very friendly and welcoming.

Never fails to deliver a fab meal

Me and my partner came to this pub and had the most amazing food and the service was unbelievable. They were very comforting about allergies we also had. The food was very well priced. Me and my partner were very happy and will definitely be visiting again😊

Found this gem of a pub on the off chance and the 'Real food and Ale' signage drew us in. Lovely food and ale at a good price with great service. A must if you are in the area!

We enjoyed a lovely meal for four people on a Friday night. We ordered focaccia for starter, fish and chips, pie, burger and shepherds pie for mains followed by the waffle for dessert. Focaccia was served with balsamic and oil, very nice. If being overly fussy the oil and balsamic should be in a shallow dish so can be mixed. It was difficult to get the taste of both in a deep serving dish. I enjoyed my pie but pastry was far too thick, chips and gravy lovely. Dessert was nice but some parts of the waffle very hard ( due to being reheated I think? ) , ice cream beautiful. Prices were reasonable and service good. We will give it another go at some point.

Came with a friend for the curry night. We both had lamb dhansak it was delicious and came with poppadoms and chutneys which were different to what you get in an Indian restaurant, but I thought they were better. I took my dog and she loved meeting the other dogs that were there too. Overall it was a good evening and we will be returning soon.

We went for the Spanish night, and it was amazing. The food was just as good as what we get in spain, and my wine was amazing . We will definitely be recommending to all our family and friends

Have lunch here every Sunday and often pop in during the week for dinner. Excellent food and service. Great staff. Lovely ambiance. Our favourite eating place.

Just had a superb Sunday roast at The Butchers Arms. The pub was busy but the service was amazing. Very attentive and helpful. The roasts were fab with loads of fresh veg, great meat and plenty of Yorkshire puddings. My wife had a gluten allergy and was catered for perfectly with a gluten free roast. Thanks to all the staff for a great meal.

A great pub but also the food is excellent for coeliacs. The chef is really careful about cross-contamination and there is a separate frier for chips and the amazing gluten free battered haddock. A good choice of gluten free food is available.

Had a wonderful visit on a busy Saturday early evening, arrived to a very busy bar area, however the barman spotted me and arranged a table with a warm welcome. Great service, friendly and speedy. I ordered a black pudding scotch egg starter and a Pork rib eye with veg casserole and new potatoes, my pal, Chips and Fish, both meals perfect. I would defiantly visit again if I am in the area.

We held a Sunday lunch in the private Barn Room for 9 family members to celebrate a 97th birthday. Sam and all his team did a fantastic job of looking after us, and making the day feel special. The food was excellent and the service attentive and friendly. In advance we pre-ordered food and Sam was very helpful in coordinating everything, and enabling us to get into the room early to decorate it with our birthday banners and balloons. Thank you for all your help - a very good experience in every way.

Friendly, relaxed atmosphere but great efficient team with attention to detail. The menu is varied but not overly long; we were delighted by the quality of the cooking of every dish we had. Everything was delicious, and in spite of the generous portions it was so yummy we cleared our plates!

Despite not having a vegan main on the menu the kitchen were able to offer two options: a veg soup which was tempting but the winner was a root vegetable pie with mash and greens. Our server couldn't have been more helpful. My mum thoroughly enjoyed her fish cake and salad, which left her just enough room to fit in a sticky toffee pudding. All in all a great meal, lovely setting, helpful and friendly staff. We'll definitely be heading there again!

We had a wonderful lunch for 21 people to celebrate my mum's 90th birthday with 7 great grandchildren and all the generations in between plus a couple of dogs. Having the whole room allowed plenty of time for family to gather as they were coming from all over the country and we had space for a childrens area to keep the little ones happy. Wonderful again! We popped in without booking and we were seated by a very friendly woman who said she could squeeze us in. The service is flawless and nothing too much trouble. The pie special was amazing- real home cooked goodness!! This is really becoming our favourite place to eat. Incredible food , brilliant service and a great atmosphere

A large group of 22 from Brackley for lunch. Never easy to cater for. We pre-ordered but nevertheless everything served was really very good. Succulent meats with scrummy roast potatoes and vegetables. The staff service was also very good, in fact they were 5*. Thank you to everyone.

We have just enjoyed a fantastic team lunch at The Butchers Arms in Greens Norton. The pub, managed by a friendly group of locals, had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our hostess, Claire, was attentive and added a touch of fun to our visit, whilst ensuring we were well taken care of. Amazing service from the young lady with the cool shaved hair! What a friendly, hard working girl! The food was delightful, halloumi salad was the best I’ve ever had and my friends had the sea bass/ dahl special and both said they loved it.

A lovely pub situated in the middle of Greens Norton. The serving staff were pleasant and friendly but service was very slow and the restaurant wasn't even half full. The food, however, was absolutely divine. Well cooked and beautifully presented.

A fabulous place for Sunday lunch. I was staying across the road in Greens Norton pet sitting and walked across around 3.15 to have a Sunday roast. I chose sirloin beef and the biggest Yorkshire pudding came out everything was delicious and I finished off with poached pears and berries with ice cream the best dessert I've ever eaten really didn't want it to end Lovely place clean and well presented staff were very cheerful and helpful especially Emily calm atmosphere definitely value for money I would highly recommend this place A*

Very small portions of fish on both meals

Called in on way home after visiting Bletchley Park. I am gluten free and there were plenty of options on the menu and the staff were very helpful in advising what I could have and what could be adapted to be gluten free. The food and service was excellent and and good pub atmosphere. A local pub which felt very welcoming.

The reason for the poor review is we have booked twice and got cancelled by them twice. The third and final attempt over a year later and they did not even bother to answer the emails and when I finally got hold of them via phone they asked if I could call back, at this point I have given up with them and went to Whittlebury and had a marvellous meal

Popped in for a couple of drinks and was pleasantly surprised by the interior of the pub it has been done really well. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The pub also has a small function room and a well landscaped garden area

Stopped at the Butcher’s Arms on our way home, being only a small detour off our planned route. Friendly staff, lovely restaurant and a great menu. They have definitely focused on a smaller menu done really well. Many items were gluten free and I had fish and chips and my husband had an excellent piece of steak: both gluten free. The chips were especially noteworthy and very tasty. They pride themselves on local produce and I think you can really enjoy the quality. Lovely atmosphere and I would highly recommend. If we are in the area again, I would look forward to coming back.

Terrible food - nice service - went for Sunday Roast (4 adults 1 child - I didn't have the roast) - starters were good but mains were virtually inedible. Beef way too tough and Steak pie (mine) far too dry and tasteless.

We had out wedding reception at the Butchers Arms. We couldn't have asked for more from the staff. They set the barn up for out reception which was lovely. The food was excellent and the staff served everything without any issues.
