We’ve been loyal customers for a few years. Now no real customer service from management or most staff and now they’ve stopped doing food. They can’t attract a really good team or create a vibrant atmosphere. No way to run a village pub - what a shame and it’s empty most nights. Hope that whoever takes it over does a better job.

One of the best pub meals I have ever had. I shall be going back again and again and again. The meat was perfectly cooked. Delicious. Passing on a canal boat; booked table & we walked into village only to find it closed. I had taken steps to leave my mobile with any pubs I'd reserved en route. No polite call which doesn't sound surprising given the most recent review about manners from July 2021 below. found the next day there had been a post on Facebook - do remember a lot of normal people don't go on Chavbook to find out info - a phone call would have suited the situation better. Anyway reading past reviews sounds like we got off lightly - called & booked a table at The Wharf nearby. Lovely manners, service, friendliness & excellent food & would highly recommend this place to anyone passing through Bugbrooke. Just avoid The Baker's Arms.

What can i say , if i could give a minus i would.!!! I stopped in the village whilst travelling the canals of England . The food was passable ( i am am experienced landlady of over 30 years ) and never have i been so appalled . The staff were not interested in us at all ,they never asked if thefood was ok ( it wasn't ) no further drinks were offered! I asked to speak to the manager and guess what .....a gymslip of a girl appeared and stood with her hands on her hips !!! And then asked what the problem was ,i explained the steak was overcooked and that i already complained to the waitress wirh no satisfaction. She ...the so called manager.... was non chalont about the situation shrugging her shoulders and said what do you expect me to now i will never go againand suggest yoy dont suggest you dont eirther.

Poor customer service and unable to take any constructive feedback. Unfortunately locals are not happy about the way our local pub is being run and the new owners seem to think it’s a town centre bar and want to bar all the village people from their local pub. (Been happening regularly for the past year now) many stories going around the village. Disappointing as we used to go to this pub weekly. They won’t get any more of my money, and that’s for sure. Can’t wait for someone else to take over this lovely building and actually welcome the locals.

What should have been an enjoyable lunch was spoilt by one rude member of staff. Despite advising at time of booking I would be using The Gourmet Society discount card, when I went to pay, I was told it wasn’t valid on a Saturday. After showing on my phone it clearly stated Saturdays, the discount was eventually applied, however the member of staff was clearly unhappy and stomped off making myself and my guest feel uncomfortable. We won’t be going back, the food was nice, but didn’t compensate for rude, unwelcoming staff. There are plenty of better places nearby who know how to treat their customers!

For a saturday night - this was a busy friendly pub and it impacted service slightly. Starter of pigeon was a good idea but the execution needs more. The pigeon was over cooked and a small portion and probably overpowered by the sweet pickle. Main course Sea Bass again over cooked and probably sat on the side for a while and probably too much potato with it. The comment on the Duck was not too favourable but the people having burgers were happy. Wine is good value and don't want to be too harsh but just a little bit of improvement on the dishes would easily lift the rating from average to very good. The rating is probably nearer good that Average overall but my gripe with trip advisor there is no "good" rating.

Very pleased with this place, seems like a Sunday Roast is too hard for most pubs to do well but it's no problem at all for The Bakers Arms. The meat was lovely, the vegetable selection was good and the roasties were decent.Good, friendly service and it's a nice environment as it's obviously been refurbished recently but still retaining good character and charm as you'd expect from a village pub.Prices weren't too bad and you get a decent selection of available beers and wines.

Dining is in an area off the bar.We had linguine and s bottle of wine followed by Apple caramel cobbler and a raspberry and pistachio frangipane. £63 which we thought was very good value. The only point I would make is that all tables were taken (we had booked) and only 1 waitress so service was a little slow. No criticism of the young lady who gave us as good a service as she possibly could just with an additional waitress it would have improved the service. Still had a delightful evening

We were staying with one of our sons and his partner who live on the Grand Union Canal where it passes through the Northamptonshire village of Bugbrooke, and just a pleasant Kilometre or so walk away from a local pub that this time last year closed its door, only for owners Emma and Matt to re-invent itself in to its current format. Re-opening last November, it has quickly become THE place to dine, attracting a clientele from far and wide by virtue of the cuisine, that we were about try. The dining room and bar area seat 22 and 20 respectively and retains much of the ‘oldy worldly’ charm. Its would be hard not to be tempted by at least one of the well described dishes from the balanced menu, with a half dozen Sharers, seven starters and fourteen mains, they can also cope with Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten, and Lactose, however my intolerance to anything cooked in Oli Oil was a new one for chef Mustapha who quickly assured me that this would not be a problem.
