Great place good food,funny friendly staff,never leave with out a full belly and a smile

This has become our regular. Great atmosphere friendly staff happy to help. They even remember what we drink when we come in and get it ready right away. Today they made me really happy and gave me a googly eye beer glass!!

Getting back to how it used to be and the food and staff are excellent

We were there as a wedding party in the upstairs room. Catherine and Theresa were serving us aswell as running the downstairs bar. I guess the manager was the chef? Anyhow, the food was hot and served promptly- the ladies did a great job considering they had to cover both areas.

I thought I'd take my work colleagues here for Xmas lunch. I book 3 weeks in advance and asked for the Xmas menu, I specifically asked did we need to pre order and leave a deposit, which is normal with these things. I was told this will not be necessary, mmm ok then, see you on the 21st Dec. On arrival we were shown to our table which was in a cold soulless room, not a good start as it was Xmas. The menus turned up, nothing Christmassy about it, this was not the menu I was given to take away with me when I booked! After asking the waitress about the Xmas menu, she said that was for pre booking only, after explaining I had asked about this when booking, she wouldn't budge on this and didn't even offer to ask the kitchen if anything was possible for us. So a table of six people who were very disappointed had to choose from the daytime menu, so no I am not happy at all, plus my chicken was cooked beyond recognition with some cheese on top. No we didn't have a dessert, room was too cold to stay any longer, and I wasn't prepared to spend anymore money. Totally disappointed from start to finish, which was a shame as being local to us, it was a convenient meeting place for everybody.

Visited with friends. Superb food!

I live in the village and have eaten there a few times over the years, but never been very impressed. However, there are new owners now and we went on Tuesday and the food was excellent, service great and would definately now highl recommend

Fantastic afternoon at the White Horse, 100% improvement with the new management, with special thanks to Jes and the rest of the staff who couldn't be more helpfull. I recommend the buffet.

Went here for my mother-in-law's birthday with my partner and father-in-law. Seated at a table right in the middle of foot traffic to the toilet but the staff were awkward when we asked if there was anywhere else - to which they said no. We got on with it and ordered. The prices are high but so are most places. We had starters and mains and honestly, it was all bland and small portions for the money they're charging. The staff are nice enough if a little distracted by the busy bar. The restaurant side of the pub seems a bit forgotten. Nothing special and won't visit again. Added: We were there on the last night of the current owners before it was being taken over, so the menu was limited. But! They did charge less for a starter that couldn't be fulfilled completely. However, the proprietors seemed to be having a very loud party with friends and locals which made it quite awkward for us dining, who couldn't hear each other over the noise and kept getting stared at by this exclusive party. Very strange experience and has put me off going back or recommending it. Plus, the food was bland.

Food and service was commendable the ladies Tess & Laura are both delightful. Helpful and very knowledgeable. The pub itself was clean and tidy. The food was amazing fresh and hot! Would most definitely recommend

What a fantastic pub! This pub has been taken over only 6 weeks ago. Cosy, busy pub, warm and welcoming. Excellent value for money Sunday carvery £13.95! It was delicious and so well cooked and presented. Im not a fan of carvery normally, this place has changed my opinion massively. Can’t wait to go back again. Definitely book in advance for a Sunday.

Fantastic, burgers, pies & lamb! We weren't going to have a pudding but I’m glad we did, the Bakewell sponge was fabulous! The atmosphere and bar staff were very friendly and attentive! Thank you 🙏🏼

Chain pub. Normal prices. Only pub in Silverstone. Need to improve their spirits also only 1 real ale pump on.

Very strange experience. Sadly we would not recommend. Took a while to seat us . Then an immediate drinks order at the table, looked at the cocktail menu. To then be told they don’t do most of the cocktails? The food came quickly but wasn’t great. One piece of chicken was so dry and tough, our dog struggled to eat it. Was tougher than one of his chews!

The White Horse in Towcester is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with such warmth and friendliness that it felt like we were among friends. It’s clear that they use quality ingredients and put a lot of thought into the menu. The service was impeccable, with Katherine and Tess checking in just the right amount to make sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. The White Horse has quickly become one of our favorite spots in Towcester. If you’re looking for a place with amazing food, a welcoming atmosphere, and staff who treat you like family, this is it! Booked a table for lunch, arrived and was seated, waited 25+ mins for someone to come and take a drinks order. we then ordered our food which was appalling, my chicken was rock hard, my chips were so fried they had no potato in them, salad was brown, my friends burger was burnt and dry, again, brown salad and over fried chips, she asked for mayonnaise which came out with a hard yellow film on the top due to being left out! would not recommend, had both meals removed from the bill as they were practically untouched.

Lovely pub, great service, excellent food and really well priced. Would certainly go again.

The food came 2 meals then 2 meals 5mins later, the fifth meal came 15mins later again. All meals were ok, but not great. The two mixed grills we asked which steak was which (cooked) the waitress said ‘I don’t know’ the two waitresses in particular were awful, the others were trying but those two were a strain on the team. Waited 20 mins to have the bill after asking.

This establishment serves very high quality food and drink and has very attentive staff. It has a welcoming atmosphere and I would highly recommend to anyone.

Went with family for dinner, really nice room upstairs, food was all great, good choice of beers, we were looked after by the staff there and we will definitely be back.

Went after visiting Silverstone Museum on a Sunday as the local pub, but doesn’t do food! A local advised us to go into Towcester for pub food / a carvery

Had a meal with a large group from work, the service was quick and the food was great will definitely eat there again.

The service here are very good, but I haven’t rely try the menu yet, but I’m quite intrigued to try it soon, if the service are this good.

Not sure what's going on here (it was going so well), but until new tenants are in I'd give it a wide berth. The interim's don't have a clue. Everard's need to take a look at themselves too.

We've been coming here annually for about 6 years and have seen the quality vary massively (I believe due to different management) but am happy to report that it's back up to a high standard now and have adjusted my rating accordingly. Very friendly staff and great food 🙂

We arrived on a very busy Thursday just as the lunchtime kitchen was closing but the staff were willing to take an order for 4 adults. The food was plentiful and very tasty. The staff were very friendly and attentive but never intrusive. Our poor food had been out in the sun and they even gave him his own bowl if water. Thank you for making us feel welcomed.

Very disappointed it's a sport pub, so I did expect on Sunday to show F1 race....they didn't. And they was very busy with a group of people, so didn't serve food to anyone else. Wouldn't go back again.

honestly I don't know whether to be particularly angry, or to pretend nothing is happening and be happy; I say this because the place is really very nice, the "Tiger" beer that I always drink is really very good, and the food is equally good, all the staff are logically kind and courteous, but unfortunately all this great wonder is lost in HUGE errors that could be resolved with extreme simplicity and with a minimum of professional criteria. First of all I would like to know how they can, after the customers have ordered at the counter, tell to them: don't leave, wait for the drinks, being the only pub within a few kilometers, and having a good influx of customers and work, it’s easy to hire the little staff needed to serve at the tables, (having many tables available). Secondly, it is really shocking to have a good steak on the menu that is accompanied with good pepper sauce, and not even have a piece of bread to accompany it, I had to go to the off-licence opposite to buy a piece of bread to eat with the meat!!! ABSURD!!! Then again, how is it possible to accompany dishes with different products, (such as peas, tomatoes, mushrooms, etc.) and not even add half gram of salt to complete the dish, the basic job of a chef is precisely that of knowing how to balance all the flavors of the ingredients that makes a dish!!! At the end there is the small detail that people have to eat on tables that being outside night and day are logically not clean to come into contact with plates and cutlery as well, SCANDALOUS!!!

Upon entering the pub, there was clearly a smell of urine. As you walked in the door, it hit you. I informed the male I was with, but he couldn't smell it. We ordered food (I ordered a chicken burger) it was cooked, not pink, but I felt it could have been done with a few more minutes as the centre was a bit soft. The staff looked like they were at the end of a 24-hour shift and couldn't wait for the end to come. When using the bathroom, the smell was clearly stronger in them, not pleasant at all. Was only passing, so I won't be returning.

Visited a couple times over the F1 weekend and I was impressed. Great little pub

I travelled to Silverstone for the Grand Prix, and called in to The White Horse, on the busy Saturday of the Grand Prix weekend, AFTER they had stopped serving food at lunchtime! However they proceeded to quickly prepare and serve, a huge plate of Gammo, Eggs and Chips! Many thanks! 5 STARS ! Robert Hale

Visited The White Horse on Silverstone weekend. As you can imagine, it was mad busy and twenty minutes to get served. But have also visited the pub in the days leading up to Grand Prix when there is no problem getting served . Lovely to sit in the beer garden or out front and watch the world go by. Tranquility 😁👍.

We worked at Silverstone for the Grand Prix, we love the pub, the staff are very polite and always try to accommodate, we have used this pub every year and cannot fault it they are exceptionally busy during this period but always do it with a smile and will always help, we are looking forward to going again next year, the food is amazing and a huge selection of drinks, we thank every member of staff for the service they provide for us. Very disappointing service from this pub, I was passing through on my bicycle doing a 300km ride so needed a big lunch stop and needed to charge my Garmin, was greeted with 'you can't use our electricity!' when they saw I had plugged it in. I can understand the cost of things going up and if I had only gone in to charge my GPS for 30 minutes, but I had ordered food, which after it being delivered I regretted... I thought for the price a cheese and onion sandwich would be a little edgy or they may have put in a bit more effort but it was a school lunch box type sandwich on white bread. Very disappointing. In fairness the pub does have a charging station but when charing my device was so important a bit of leniency could have been had. I found generally the staffs attitude from the off set was arrogant and cold.

VERY DISAPPOINTING!! We called in the day before on the way to Silverstone to check still there. Upgraded and nowhere near as interesting but at least open front & back doors with a mural of racers. Walked there the next day from the Circuit - having watched a ref to them in the Museum- and they stopped food as kitchen closed at 2.00 and we arrived at 2.15!! 'You can go over to the shop opposite for a sandwich' we were told by smiling bar person! Online, no mention of closing the kitchen during the day! Thank goodness we could walk back to Circuit Museum to find something to eat!!

Not even open! After a long drive we searched for somewhere to eat, saw this place was open, got here and it’s not! Fuming

Lovely village pub, dog friendly

Had warm salmon salad with sweet chilli dressing it was lovely, white wine cold and crisp and staff polite and friendly. Will be going back.

I took a party of some 30 Members of our Probus Club for lunch after visiting the Silverstone Museum. Diane understood my requirements perfectly on timing and made special arrangements to satisfy them completely. The two course meal was excellent, served hot and very quickly by the lovely staff who joined in the spirit of our visit. All enjoyed their lunch and offered their sincere thanks with applause. I recommend this delightful pub for good food, good draft bar and a great village pub atmosphere. Many thanks again Diane from us all. John.

Went with group of 12 (4 children 8 adults) food choice is fantastic and everyone was impressed with their dishes. I can personally recommend the bucket of wings very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful overall a great pub.

Brilliant local pub near the circuit. Nice atmosphere and really well kept outdoor area. Food is relatively cheap for pubs, but the quality was outstanding. Would go again.

As a visitor of many restaurants and bars, I know a thing or two about how you should be treated as a customer, sadly The White Horse do not. It began with the fact that even though we had booked a sit down meal on a Sunday, we still had to go to the bar to order drinks but we ordered food with a waitress, could she not take both orders? Was she too lazy to bring the drinks as well as the food over? Then you visit the bar and are greeted with an egotistical baffoon who bemoans the fact that you order crisps that are not in the bar but downstairs so he has to walk down the stairs to fetch them. He even complained that I hadn’t finished my drink!! We then get onto ordering the food, as you can imagine, very excited! My brother in law orders the “all meats” option but asks for no Lamb and is told you can’t do that, he mows on and takes all 3 meats, odd one because surely you’d want them to have less meats but anyway. I then order the same all meats option and ask for no vegetables, I am allergic to carrots so didn’t want to risk it, the waitress tells me this isn’t allowed, I was quite horrified, I cannot lie that in a service based business, they are treating you like they are the customer and telling us you get what you get and you’ll be happy with it! And guess what, the stringy fatty cheap meat didn’t live up to what I can only imagine are fake reviews, what a terrible experience! You are sure as anything that we will not be bringing our family of 12 paying customers to this establishment again. My advice to the owners, sack your staff and start again, it appears they believe something is owed to them but guess what, they are simply just lazy!

The burgers are the best we have had in a very long time. Absolutely delicious, with blue cheese and crispy bacon as well as a generous side of excellent fries. The service was speedy, friendly and exceptionally helpful. A perfect pit stop after a visit to Silverstone circuit. Would highly recommend based on prices and cuisine.

Called in to watch the Rugby World Cup Final. Decided to have a meal. A really good decision because the gammon, eggs, peas and chips really hit the spot. The food was cooked to perfection. The landlord happens to be a rugby aficionado and takes pride in the real ale he serves. The staff behind the bar are top drawer

Lovely staff and very accommodating. Accommodated us (a large group of 30+) even though we came with extra people and even made extra food for all of us to have something to eat. The food was lovely and the drinks were great. Very welcoming and friendly too.

Dispone de buena variedad de cervezas y licores. La comida es fritanga (fritos y hamburguesas) Probamos los nachos, setas empanadas y las patas con queso y bacon y aros de cebolla. A las 20.35 ya no dejaron pedir ni postre, cortar un pedazo de tarta no creo que se necesite un cocinero. Trato del personal correcto sin más 3/5. Si bien éramos un grupo grande, estuvimos consumiendo 2h antes por nuestra cuenta. No entiendo los comentarios del propietario.

We had a great dinner yesterday, we were a big group. Everything was nice organized, food was tasteful and the people were there to service with a big smile on their faces. Thank you for this🙂🙂

Came here last night on a business trip of 37 people. Despite us turning up with more people than planned, the staff (especially the land lady) accommodated us perfectly. They served up a very tasty curry (of which I had 3 servings). A huge selection of beers on tap, and some very nice imported beers which I enjoyed. The decor is a very traditional British pub with exposed oak beam ceilings and a decorated to a high standard. Highly recommend this place to anyone wanting some tasty food and good beers.

We were with a large group yesterday in this very nice old Pub. The service was excellent the food and drinks were very nice and the atmosphere was superb. Er very big thank you for your hospitality.

I hired the function room for my daughters christening, being a local to the village. The staff were incredibly rude to my guests and family, all because some guests used the pub and sat downstairs, which I had checked previously with the owner and was assured it would be fine. We paid for 40 guests at £10 ahead, they didn't even have 40 chairs, food was awful, guests complained, dry, frozen. Will not bother again or even use pub, sad really as we live in village and have been using the pub for years! We would of brought a great amount of trade to this pub on a quiet Saturday morning, they were so ungrateful,

Joanna and Diane were very welcoming and very friendly. We live in the village and have avoided the pub for a few years since our last visit was so dire but we can safely say that this is definatley not the case now. We decided to do the steak night which was 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £30. Well I can tell you it was the most delicious steak I have had in a long time and the value can not be beaten so we have booked to try out their Sunday lunch and I'm sure by the steak night results, we will not be disappointed. So glad to see the pub where it should be again!. P
