Having had a totally negative experience at a local Garden Centre where food wasn't available, we headed back into Towcester to take advantage of their cafe. Too hungry by this time to travel further towards Stony Stratford and the excellent Wellington Restaurant at Cherry Lane. Waitrose had a good selection of sandwiches and we decided on a couple of their Mixed Sandwich selection and a Tea & Coffee. Excellent choice with a range of fillings in each pack - not your simple cheese or ham but a tasty filling was crammed into each quarter. Beautiful. Nice setting, clean tables and pretty immaculate area all round. Olney disappointment (and this is nothing to do with the restaurant) was the mature couple who when finished their food, left the table as if a bomb had hit it. The floor was pretty bad too. Despite sitting only a few feet from a tray holder where everyone else was depositing their detrius, these two were old enough to know better but guess they had the view that everyone else was beneath them and off they went. Certainly one of the better Supermarket cafes in the area.

Not sure about the cafe - let’s not overstate what it is - but It’s a lovely bright shop, with very helpful staff most of the time. Was in there today to buy some clotted cream only to be told that they had let one customer buy the entire stock of it for their “Platty Joobs” party. How selfish is that? Rather than plan ahead, think of other people and ask the shop to make them a special order, that customer gave a big two fingers to the entire population of the town and the surrounding villages, seemingly without a care in the world. If that was you, treat yourself to a long, slow handclap. Also, Waitrose store management, maybe you could consider learning from the stockpiling that happened during lockdowns and implement processes to restrict greedy hoarders from clearing the shelves. Or, if you’re going to allow it, speed up your restocking processes. Places like Aldi can do it, but you probably look down on them. For the prices that Waitrose charges, I think we can expect that little bit better from them.

I called in to have lunch after doing my shopping. I ordered a baked potato with Tuna Mayo as on the menu . It was a disappointing experience. Slow service, staff stood about chatting. My food was awful, the potato was stewed either been their a long time or reheated. The potato was brown i side and stuck to the bottom, I got tuna sweetcorn. Couldn’t catch the staffs attention so left a note on the serviette. Very disappointed, had food before and it was always good. Today was a bad day.

Not impressed by Covid 19 safety measures. Very disorganised queuing outside the shop and area around the trolleys where we had to wait was filthy. Staff stacking shelves seemed unaware of social distancing. Queuing at the tills was very badly thought out. If you were third in the queue you had to stand on a spot that was at the end of an aisle so anyone coming down the aisle had to pass very closely. Did not feel safe so won’t be going again!

I’ve been shopping here for 4 years and The staff have always been wonderful. Many have had interesting careers before semi-retirement and the student workforce are always well mannered and hardworking. On the rare occasion that the product is below expectations, there is no hassle in returning it. During the changes to shopping, how many other stores employ staff to wipe down your trolley first? The quality of ingredients in preprepared own brand goods and their ethical farming Practices are second to none, as is the drive to reduce packaging. Well done Waitrose.

Even their own pic of a bacon sandwich shows you how poor the quality and preparation of the food is. Save your money there's plenty in the town that are trying to make the effort. Waitrose staff clearly couldn't care less.

Myself and a colleague visited for breakfast and having been charged £3.75 for an unbuttered small brown roll with one and a half bits of bacon in it plus £1.99 for a small pot of tea, I sure as hell won't be coming back here ever again. I can't believe such a place would serve food like this at that price. I realise Waitrose as a supermarket is way more expensive than the other main stream supermarkets, but the Waitrose Cafe at Towcester is just too much.

Good quality food and good selection available, although we did have to return a couple of avocado pears as they were speckled black inside - exchanged with no issues by an efficient and friendly customer services rep. Oh, and the £2 scratch-card I bought did not win me anything, not even £2 to pay for itself :( If there's a downer, it would be because Waitrose don't stock Daddies brown sauce, no matter how often I ask for it :(

Waitrose is an excellent chain but whilst we shop at the branch in Towcester, I have been very disappointed with the quality of some of the products including their number 1 range. The customer service is very good if you bring to their attention your reason for complaint.

stopped in while shopping today for a quick snack/lunch. I had soup which was ok but used to be served with a decent granary roll but just recently they are using realy cheap and horrible rolls which "spoil the ship for a halfpenny of tar" as my old grandfather used to say. She who must be obeyed had to send her sandwich back as it had a funny taste (avocado, bacon and chicken toasty) they did change to another but of course I had eaten my soup by then (very slow service today) so a cock up all round really especially as her tea had gone cold by then.Mmmm will I go back? not sure.

Decepcionante.

My local Waitrose serves a small selection of hot meals. This one doesn't.It has snacks and a fairly limited selection of cakes. It was absolutely packed when I went in the morning and having found a table with one chair I had the highly unusual experience of a man putting his cup on my table (without asking) so he could talk to his (very loud) friends at the next table. Perhaps that is normal for Towcester!I enjoyed my free tea and bought a cake and there was a good selection of newspapers. Usual Waitrose problem of tables not being cleared and no rack to put my tray on. Went back in the afternoon and it was much less crowded. The moral seems to be pick your time.

Popped in on a whim late in the afternoon and our choices were understandably quite limited and so thoughtfully, the staff suggested that we might want to consider buying from the shop range of foods to accompany our beverages. We chose from both cafe and shop and enjoyed sitting in the clean and bright sunny dining area to eat and drink. Staff even came up to apologise for the limited choice - we asked 'what limited choice?

I absolutely disagree with the previous review of this refurbished coffee shop. They have taken all of the most popular food items off the menu and customers are now forced to sit with their coats on to drink coffee and eat because the newly installed air conditioning units are blasting everyone with cold air which is horrible. Whilst men do not seem to mind a colder climate - women most definitely do!My cycling club used to be regulars but we have chosen to find a warmer, cosier venue for our bacon rolls and coffee!!

The towcester branch of waitrose has recently undergone refurbishment including their restaurant. This has been made bigger, brighter and more easily accessible. The standard of food remains high although they are no longer including their little biscuits with tea/coffee orders - as you get the drinks free if you are a card holder they think this is enough - I personally felt adding the little biscuit gave it a bit of luxury and made it a treat. There is also outside seating and inside with the large windows (unfortunately looking over the car park) it has made it a brighter more pleasant experience. I use a three wheeled walker and not only as usual were the staff extremely helpful but there is room to manoeuvre unlike the old layout. Overall a vast improvement and a joy to sit after shopping or just meet friends.

We had a great experience at the Roade House Hotel when we were here recently for a work trip. The family that works here is so welcoming and lovely, the rooms were large with some beautiful original features while still being modern. They have a restaurant on site which had lovely homemade meals and the breakfast was great.
