Beautiful little tea garden. Just lovely in every way. Owner was friendly, attentive and food was great. Comfortable, pretty and sheltered garden. Will return.

Given the area's rich food heritage, I've always been amazed by the lack of fine dining restaurants in and around Whitby. And so, Restaurant Number 20 shines like a beacon amidst a sea of fish & chip shops and overpriced pub food. The restaurant is cosy and intimate ran by a husband and wife team with an open plan kitchen, and this ethos spreads to the service and food. The service was friendly and attentive, knowing when to be discreet and when to stop and chat. Whilst the menu is a small but expertly curated mix of seasonal and local produce, so naturally expect plenty of fish and seafood. The brill was the standout on this visit, but on past visits the aged fillet steak was equally delicious and expertly cooked. What really makes Restaurant Number 20 stand out for us is the attention paid to the desserts. So many places - including those with Michelin stars - are often let down by forgettable dessert options. But here, it's arguable that the desserts are the stand out. With the Burnt Cheesecake an unforgettable experience that we haven't stopped thinking about since our first visit, and a must-have at every visit since. An truly hidden gem well worth seeking out, and should top of the list for anyone looking for a restaurant for a date night or special occasion along the North Yorkshire Coast

A gem of a tea room, the only one we saw in the vicinity of the harbour. Only had a scone and tea both were fresh and delicious. Lots of food on offer with a comprehensive menu. Friendly staff too.

We didn't realise the Fox is quite a drive from Saltburn-by-the-Sea but don't let that put you off...we had the warmest welcome, friendly service and awesome food..all in all a great experience and a lovely evening ❤️

Stumbled upon this place on a Sunday noon and we enjoyed a very warm welcome, they could still offer us a place in the beer garden, inside was fully booked. The food (Sunday roast of course) was magnificent, nice atmosphere, prices were good, service impeccable. Recommend this place!

Had fish and chips from a few places on the coast. This is the only one that has good chips that have some browning, as opposed to the yellow mush that is served in other establishments.

Acogedor pub con un menú excelente, inusual y creativo. Todo se cocina por encargo lo que, comprensiblemente, lleva algún tiempo. El servicio es amable y eficiente y todo el establecimiento tiene una sensación encantadora. Muy recomendable para una comida con una diferencia en la zona Whitby.

Brilliant dinner,super quality,great experience. Need to REMOVE speed humps and replace with some more suitable. They WILL damage cars, ridiculous.

Excellent food and service! The portions are large and the sides are as well. We had the burger and lasagna. Both were exceptional. We would recommend going here. The food service does stop at 8PM. They have live bands some weekends.

Nos alojamos por una noche para la cena, alojamiento y desayuno y nos encantó! La habitación era cómoda, con todo lo necesario y una hermosa vista. Nuestra cena fue deliciosa, el pastel de pescado era exquisito y el filete de bacalao cocinado a la perfección. Los mini postres eran encantadores, especialmente el pan de mermelada y pudín de mantequilla. El desayuno en la mañana estaba muy bien presentado y había un montón. Los huevos revueltos y el salmón ahumado eran preciosos. Sin duda recomendaría este lugar para aquellos que quieren una noche tranquila y disfrutar de comer pescado perfectamente cocinado. Good value food variety on the menu - staff would even do what you wanted if it wasn’t on the menu - friendly staff who seemed interested in the guests

Absolutely rotten food undercooked and cheap bacon avoid this place at all costs owner is horrendous and ignorant would not visit again

Great 2 nights dropped on a entertainment weekend which was great Food was absolutely amazing good value Friendly only thing was our lovely British weather change from mini heatwave to gales 😂 definitely recommend a stay here
