The best restaurants serving British food in West Midlands

Very good Greggs unit the food is as always so tasty 😋 and so too is their coffee ☕️.. We had ours on the go but there looks to be a super cafe here with lots of seating.

Con poco personal para hacer frente a la demanda, los servidores eran encantadores, pero de las noches que cené allí cuando me alojé en la posada principal a menudo me dejaron de pie en la entrada esperando para sentarse, en mi mesa esperando para pedir, o con mi cena terminada dejada en mi mesa. Tratar de obtener la cuenta para que pudiera irme fue difícil. Restaurante masivo nunca había visto más de 2 personas trabajando mesas corriendo comida y cuidando del bar. No vi los servidores parar, realmente no es su culpa, pero un restaurante mal administrado.

Was there a couple of weekends ago. Absolutely love this place! Staff so friendly and kind - asked to move tables to accomodate some late friends and nothing was too much trouble. Beers great. Atmosphere really inclusive and everyone friendly. I think this is my absolute perfect pub. Would recommend with my whole heart and the rest of our gang would say the same. We need more places like this!!

The stay ended before it even began. The receptionist was incredibly disconnected and acted like they were made to work by force, no helpful gestures or offers of any help. When basic requests like an extra pillow were made it seemed like we were asking for too much from them. I get customers can be tough but it’s not the sort of attitude you expect from any hotel be it 1 or 5 star. To be more specific, the female receptionist became very defensive and then played the victim when asked why their service was so poor. I get rules are rules, but almost crying over a pillow request was just too much, so I had to practically beg for the money back which was done rudely and abruptly by the hotel manager, shoving a card machine in my face and telling me to leave. Absolute joke of an establishment - AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

A group of 23 of us arranged to stop here for a meal after a work day out. Every single person commented on how good the food was!! Friendly helpful staff and very good beer!! We will return in the near future Thank you

The food here was really nice. I think it might have been the first few days of the xmas menu (we didn't actually want xmas food, we hadn't realised when booking) and it was chaotic. Went in at 7 and main courses arrived after 8.30. The only vegetarian option wasn't on so we had a few starters instead. And to be fair they didn't charge for those and the rest of the food was half price so it was a bargain. Nice atmosphere and location and wine was good value too. Needs a bit more organisation but nice food and the response to the chaos was good we didnt have to ask about bill reduction.

Family celebrations for a 70th birthday x staff and food was great. Special shout out to Lauren for her care and attention to our family party needs

The food we had at lunch time was very good. The crispy chicken BLT sandwich was nice, as were the parmesan and truffle fries. On arrival we were told that they didn't have our reservation, however i did have my booking reservation email. It was quite quickly resolved and we were seated despite feeling a little awkward.

Great little pub friendly people and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Still in process of settling in but already doing well.

Perfect English tea rooms very popular with tourists and locals it seems. We wished we could have had time to visit for a second time! We will certainly pop in next time we are in the area. Marvellous hidden gem this is!

Communication booking on fb message excellent and quick. I think maybe we picked the wrong Saturday evening, as a lot of the menu wasn’t available. Also it’s unusual, as the waitress takes food orders and you order and pay at the bar separately for drinks. 🍷 Food was nice. Busy pub and the river views are nice if it’s daytime. Toilets….. could do with sorting. Light bulb 💡 out in one, lock broke in another. I think I’d return for a nice drink by the river.

Visited this evening after a recommendation from my father who lives locally, we did not have a great food experience. Ordered the shrimp curry, chicken Cantonese style, chips and prawn crackers. The chips were the best part of the meal. The shrimp curry had no body to it, was watery and only had shrimp and onion very boring and bland. The chicken was not hot and tasted a few days old as did the prawn crackers. Unfortunately we are only in the area for today and we're very disappointed.

Good service food very good enjoyable experience again. Been here many times always good . Will be back. Good value for money .0
