Lovely pub, friendly staff and nice food. As a family had chicken tikka pizza which was home made tasty and very filling, Cajun chicken which was delicious and a kid's chicken nugget meal, followed by an orio ice cream which was devoured in seconds. We haven't been here since the new management but found it lovely, including the decor and will be returning often 😀......edit, it stopped serving food very quickly and has since closed in May 2024

Ghastly! Staff were non existent, food was poor and when paying if we would like to leave a top and refused, the look on the girls face made it seem WE had done something wrong! Plenty of other pubs and restaurants in the area, leave this one alone!

Went to see a band. Band were cancelled as they couldn't afford to pay them. 2 people on a Saturday night. Band have a following. No wonder pubs are closing down with people like that running them

When we went; the Pub was closed for Food. It was open for drinks only! The building was doing renovation, and it wasn't mentioned on Google or on their website. It was under repair. The whole building looks like it needs to be demolished. It looks very run down. When we walked in there, there was NO member at all.

Made a visit to this pub on Saturday last 15/04/23. Open DJ night.......traveled from burton. Very disappointed 😞 under new management. Landlady was swilling white wine back like no tomorrow. Male barman fiddling with his dreadlocks over the bar and throwing loose hair over the bar and to the ground. Not very good at all.

Music to loud to hear what the bar staff are saying full of kids

Nice meal but waited a long time for it to be served, was the last to have it. As booked for 20 people for a surprise birthday at 1pm. Then was rushed as they had another booking for 3pm but was not told of this before hand.

We came across this place on Google and went out for some food and drink on the evening. We ordered two lasagnas and it was vile, we couldn’t even find any pasta in it… just tasteless mince and old cheese. The surfaces were dirty and sticky. The wine glasses were filthy and had to take them back, we tried to order a bottle of wine but were told they could only serve it by the glass…. For the price it was dire…. We wouldn’t go back if they paid us £50

We had a beautiful meal here today that was not only delicious but very affordable. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and we were told that children can eat for £1. It is very difficult to find a place that's affordable, nicely decorated and with pleasant staff. Lovely place highly recommended. Ten stars Ella and Marcelle

Really good meal! Home cooked, they were super friendly and the flavours were amazing we had the Cajun salmon and mash and the stale and ale pie!! The chips even seemed home cooked with a pot of pepper gravy!

Went with some work friends I had the risotto very disappointed it was dry had better ones out of Aldi for less than £1 my friends had Cajon chicken they enjoyed but I felt the plates of food lacked finesse one of the girls had the burger that did look the best out of all the meals barmaid was a lovely girl very helpful but I felt meals were over priced for amount and look of the food we received perhaps chef just wasn't in the mood

First time here and it’s brilliant. We were seated quickly, drinks were ordered immediately and the amazingly served food was quickly followed. Thanks to the staff in here the food and service was amazing. Would 100% recommend to anyone in the area.

Lovely clean pub selling a vast range of gins. I had the rhubarb gin and tonic with some blueberries in it.

Had a carvery , tough beef ,undercooked yorkshire puds, poor choice of veg very fatty gammon . Did not enjoy at all. They should visit the bradford arms a5. To see how it should be done.

For a Saturday night it was empty with no atmosphere, the regular chef had gone home which wasn't anybody's fault but we had to wait almost 2hours for the food. The steaks were ordered medium rare but came well done but we didn't mention this had we had enough at this point, The cod was tiny but very nice and the young staff were all very polite. We went the Saturday before and everything was ok then so we'll try again next Saturday to see if last night was an unfortunate blip.

Shown to conservatory which looks out onto small gravel area/beer garden. Road noise very off putting as lorry's hurtling past constantly. Food nice but overpriced I think compared to other places. Lacked any real atmosphere. Had flicker candles on window ledges but didn't appear to have batteries so never worked. Wouldn't recommend at this time.

Booked for 14, during to illness 13 attended. I had already been told there was a limited menu of carvery and grill (no problem) children and OAPs pay £5:99 for carvery. When we get there there was no draught beer or lager only bottles or guiness (very expensive). Ordered mixed grill at £16:95 others had adult or oap childs carvery. My meal was awful half gammon was fat steak small and tasted funny, someone had gammon again wafer thin not nice. Complained re beer and food had two meals deducted, then they try to charge us for 7 carveries instead of 6 and stated we should have said at the point of collecting the meal that the person was a child or an oap (oldest person in party in their 80,s!) Also after beer complaint suddenly draught lager was available (con to make you buy expensive wine or guiness???) Wont be going back shocking. This after eating lunch there a few months back which was delicious. Saw one of person return a meal to the bar and walk out.

Visited at lunch time today. Service was extremely slow considering only a few people in and most of these were only having sandwiches. We were told that there was only one chef in and that was why we had to wait such a long time. When our meals eventually arrived one was not exactly what was ordered. Will not be visiting again.

Sunday carvery ok, though sure charged for normal carvery, but served on small plates. Also sweet choice very limited, two listed items not available.

Went for Sunday lunch - should have been forewarned by the lack of full tables. Cannot fault the staff but food was dire. Starter was a choice between prawn cocktail, pate and soup. Should have been homemade but looked and tasted as though it came from a packet. Hubbies carvery was not good. Meat was tough, veggies were all frozen (not fresh peas.) Yorkie looked lovely but was soggy. Potatoes were not good - insipid as was the cauliflower cheese.

Brilliant service from all staff, lovely food all cooked from scratch. Sometimes there is a waiting time for food, but it is definitely worth the wait! Had a beautiful, creamy baileys cheesecake to finish off, also homemade! Can't wait to visit again

A dozen of us met for an early evening, pre booked numbers, birthday meal and we all enjoyed the meal and overall service was good. We all agreed to return at a later date.

I came here with a friend after work and we had a great meal. I had the Chicken and Mushroom pie and my friend had some sort of beef/steak pie. The pastry of both pies was wonderful, so tasty and better than the usual pastry that comes with pie. The chips seemed to be homemade too and I really enjoyed them. My friend's steak was also extremely tender too. Overall the food was fantastic and the waitress was really attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back.

Good food and service very friendly staff

Got to say how friendly the staff are with very quick service and it's a nice small pub. We have visited a few times for drinks but had food also on this occasion, got to say won't be eating here again. It was very standard but edible and no taste. I ordered several meals and they said they ran out of certain ones but ended up with lasagne, when it arrived I was given veggie lasagne as a substitute but they didn't say anything or wasn't given an explanation !! I did eat it as didn't mind either way and it was very bland. My partner had smothered chicken and he also said it was very bland and chicken was disappointing.

Went there today for Sunday dinner was lovely friendly staff but unfortunately the meal wasn't up to much.we had beef which to be honest was very tough .my wife was struggling even to cut into it .It's a shame because the rest of the dinner was ok .

I went for dinner here last sunday for the first time was made to feel welcolme, food was excelent served by a polite friendly young lady.. Will be going back soon
