Longford House Beefeater in Cannock Chase

We visit this place a couple of times a year. We never had a bad service. The food is always delicious! We recently visited and our waitress Katie was awesome. So helpful and polite. We had a lovely little chat just before we leave the restaurant as well. We will definitely visit again.

I very recently booked a wake reception at Longford House.The staff and management were absolutely spot on , courteous helpful and nothing was to much trouble to assist in our requests. The food supplied was excellent served hot and plenty for the guests eat . I have no hesitation in recommending Longford House for group booking evening meal ect . A pleasure to be a guest and will visit again . Thank you.

Good meal, had the steak sampler meal. excellent service by Jayne, but I feel she had to many covers to serve.

The pub was clean and service fast. The burger was abit cardboardy for a adults meal but was cheap

My son and daughter booked a table for 10 for my 44th. Birthday and we was served by Jayne lovely friendly lady who went above and beyond with our booking taking orders for drinks and food and puddings nothing was too much for the lady she asked us if our food was ok which was amazing I must say and the puddings we chose were absolutely delicious 😋 Jayne if you do get to read this lovely thank you for all your hospitality tonight 28/02/2025 730pm we was over whelmed by how polite and caring you was lovely nothing was too much trouble for you your a huge credit to the Longford house keep smiling sweetheart My family came up from Cornwall And hadn’t been to the Longford house before and they were amazed by the food and drinks and the service we had from the lovely Jayne We will deffo be back again thank you for such a lovely night for my special day

Once again a lovely lunch. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Alex was our server, and did a fantastic job. The food here is amazing. This time we had the smothered chicken and lasagne. Will definitely be returning.

We sometimes stop for dinner at Longford Beefeater when returning from visiting relatives. The food is always cooked as it should be and represents good value. Service is very good and Jayne on this last visit was particularly attentive - thank you Jayne and see you next time 🙂

Wonderful meal for my son’s birthday and was topped off with outstanding service from our lovely waitress Jayne. We will definitely be returning again soon.

I have dined here once a week for last 3 weeks with a party of 8 other persons. All for special occasions. Tonight a 40th birthday. Ordered off the set meal. 2 x 8oz sirloin ordered, medium. Both over cooked, very small very very thin very tough. No complaints were made due to being in large group. Past experience of steaks were good, tonight was disgraceful, will be giving Longford a wide berth now for quite a while

A big thank you to the team for your consistently amazing service and food! We tried the new Lunch menu, and found it to be fantastic value for money! We were served by the amazing waitress Alex who looked after us. The manager Tammy is very personable and ensures all her guests are having a good time, but all of the team are amazing!

The place is in need of refurbishment. We were cold and had to put our coats back on. Lackluster in every respect, and certainly not up to the usual Beefeater standard.

It was lovely here for breakfast on Sunday. It was busy but the staff kept the buffet filled nicely and there was always someone there if we had to ask for anything. A lovely morning

We love going to the Longford house. Once again great food . And the staff are lovely too. Alex looked after us today, lovely lady.

First time this year and food, Staff and surrounding were yet again great. Had Chicken and Rib combo for my main and Black Forest for desert best I have tasted in a long time.

Very pleasant staff who welcomed us at the door (Katie & Morgan) service was spot on, ordered fillet steak cooked by the chef Julie and was cooked perfectly and great portions deffo be coming again

First time I’ve ever been to a beefeater pub and was not disappointed. Had the steak sampler and all 3 of the steaks were cooked perfectly. Had a warm greeting from Morgan, Katie was very helpful and accommodating and the Chef Julie made sure our food was perfect 👌🏻

Another excellent family breakfast for 17 of us. Lovely freshly prepared food with lots of choice including both Continental breakfast and full English breakfast. Riley and staff really looked after us. we will certainly be going back there again.

I honestly believe that since COVID, the quality and quantity of the meals has gone down. However, the service by our Server, Jayne, was excellent. The great Service that I have come to expect from Jayne over many years. Without the excellent service, I would probably have only given this night out, with my son, 2 out of 5. The meals are now smaller, of a lower quality, yet far more expensive. I had a sirloin steak and a salad bowl. I purchased two fried eggs as an addition, but still felt short changed. I had a small bowl of chips and a touch steak, which was perhaps 20% grizzle. I felt exactly the same after having a similar meal at the Torquay Beefeater in September. The only difference then, was that the service was diabolical. More interested at 8.30pm on a Friday night, in laying the tables for breakfast, than serving me and my party of 13 with our evening meal. Come on Beefeater, you were a market leader. Perhaps you now need to improve your meals and send staff, such as Jayne from Longford House, to underperforming restaurants, to show them how it should be done. Sorry Beefeater, two bad meals out of two at two different restaurants. But highest praise for Jayne. Come on beefeater, sort the quality and

After paying a lot of money for our Christmas Dinner we were a party of six, we came away extremely disappointed. The main meal was substandard and that’s being generous, it was a bog standard turkey dinner consisting of two slices of turkey, one pig in blanket minus the blanket, one piece of stuffing no bigger than a 10p piece, four roast potatoes, one parsnip that resembled a slither of ice, frozen peas, two carrots & sprouts , cabbage all with a drizzle of gravy. No thought whatsoever had gone into the presentation of this meal, no mash or cauliflower cheese we even had to ask for various sauces. The desserts were passable Black Forest Gatuea, Ice Cream Sundae however the portion size of the Christmas pudding was pathetic. The service was also poor slow and staff did not appear or care what was going on around them. I have been a regular diner at Longford House over the years but my family and I will never eat there again. An extremely overpriced all round disappointing Christmas dinner.

Nice food but served on cold plates and the food was just warm not hot. Service is a bit slow. Did seem to have many staff on.

My wife & i took our 15 month old son to the restaurant. We was visiting family. Jayne was really lovely and attented to our needs with our son too. Jayne was really good with our son and waving back, as he was waving to her. We asked for ice cream and recomended a childs size portion and helped a lot. Jayne is a delight and really good with children too. We visited on 13th December, around 17:15.

Surprisingly tasty food for a chain.. festive menu was well worth a try.. only let down was the bill, recommended to check your bill for items you don’t have or promotions that should have been applied

Visited today, on a rare child free day, for a quick lunch. I was asked about allergens when I arrived, I stated my gluten allergy to Lucy. I declined the allergen folder as I prefer to use the website. Lucy took our drinks order and returned shortly after to take our food order. I failed to remind her if my gluten intolerance again but, Lucy did amazing because I heard her check with the chefs that 'this is the alleged one?' When she collected our food. Other than when we were initially greeted I failed to remind Lucy about my allergen, I'd need not have worried, she kept me safe and I'm super grateful! Lovely service and food came out timely too! (Steak was over cooked but I was too hungry to care :) and still in awe of Lucy's great attention to detail.) Thanks so much Lucy! My 5 star review is based on Lucy alone. With regards to the restaurant, i noticed floors were unclean and given i arrived at 12.30, i didnt feel this was justified, also noticed the seating had lots of staining to it. Needs a bit of a refurbishment i feel. Finally an over cooked steak ( i ordered medium to well, it was very well done), in a steak pub, isn't really what I was expecting.

A lovely evening at Longford House Beafeater. We were there for a club AGM in their function room, followed by dinner in the restaurant. A well-arranged, quiet meeting room with hot drinks provided, followed by an enjoyable dinner. Jayne looked after us very well. Thank you very much.

Had Sunday lunch here, service was excellent nothing was too much trouble for our server Alex. My husband had the beef Sunday roast and I had the vegetarian lasagne both followed by apple crumble. Very enjoyable meals.

A real take of two halves. Saturday night dinner was superb so I hastily gave a 5* review on Tripadvisor. Sunday morning breakfast was something else. The water in the tea/coffee machine was not that hot meaning lukewarm coffees, the cooked breakfast was pile high in "the pass" with only heated lights to maintain warmth of food, it was doing enough the sausages were hot but everything else was almost cold, and the design of the pass made it impossible to see the food clearly. The worst thing was the cleanliness the plates and mugs were all grimy, you literally had to feel to see it you were getting a clean plate. Even when the tops of the plates were clean the undersides were positively disgusting!

Even though the place was extra busy tonight, Charlotte did a great job of looking after our table.

We were seated and served by 2 of their team. Both were lovely. I had the sirloin Steak, with cheesy chips, my hubby, the fish and chips. I was naughty and tried the Biscoff Sundae. Omg it was delicious! I can safely say our plates were practically empty. I don't think I've ever been here before, but glad we did. Got to add though....my hubby thanked someone who had 2 drinks in their hands, and immediately afterwards didn't know if it was staff or not! To be honest, we reckon it wasn't! I just burst out laughing. I laughed that much it hurt!

Good services but worst steak ever.

After a long drive from Scotland we were given a very good welcome from Jayne and served excellent food including catering for a difficult Vegetarian

Heidi was extremely pleasant and her recommendation for sweet was absolutely spot on.

Food was really nicely cooked our only complaint was the smell from the toilets were foul. The ladies toilets were much to be desired locks didn't work there was urine on the toilet seats very unhygienic which l must admit put us off!!

Food is ok, don't expect them to be quick or accurate about it though.

Katie was the most lovely waitress and couldn't do enough for us , so refreshing to have someone serve you with a smile . Steak was slightly too charcoaled but other than that food was great

Delicious food and wonderful service (I think our waitress was called Tammy). She was so kind and friendly, it made our visit (as well as the tasty sundaes that we treated ourselves to!)

We were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table, ordered our drinks and looked at the menu. I didn't feel the menu had lots and lots of choice however when the food came it was just delicious. I had the lasagna and hubby had the steak and ale pale. The lasagna was the nicest I have ever tasted and hubby said the same bout his pie. Didnt have a dessert as too full from the meal. I had a 25% discount code so our bill came to £33 - thats for 1 meal each and 1 drink.

Waiting staff were great and clearly working hard to ensure top service. Sadly, they are let down by terrible quality food and high prices. The cheesy potato starter looked like something my children had come up with. The best part of my ribeye steak meal was the mushroom. Safe to say we shall not be returning.

Greeted and welcomed with a smile . Excellent service . I had the salad which was lovely and fresh and my partner had the ribs . Staff were happy to oblige with a little take home foil as he just couldn’t finish them . Really lovely experience will definitely be coming back .

The food was good but too expensive for the portion size you receive. The staff work hard and really welcoming. The exterior of the building is in need of attention, with the wooden seating rotten in places.

Not usually one to complain but the food was awful, service appalling, my daughters left nearly all their meal… this is the 2nd time the food has been horrific ! Very dissatisfied and definitely won’t be going there again! Staff not welcoming apart from one lady who I felt really sorry for! I think her name was Helen….very disappointed and total waste of money ! …. No atmosphere…. Horrific food ….awful service and totally overpriced!!

Been for food today and my friend had steak and ale pie which was absolutely disgusting,burnt wasn't the way to describe it, I had gammon which truthfully was only acceptable,the chef should not have sent it out of the kitchen,the place needs a new chef,first and last time I will be going here,and for me to complain it must be really disgusting

Although the staff are fantastic and really carry this place they are let down by the high prices for what I consider a low quality meal this is obviously agreed by senior management who are only interested in the bottom line. The place was virtually empty on a Sunday lunch time. Ithe place really needs a new broom or in fact make it a carvery and reap the rewards. Or die trying.

The meal was lovely and all the staff are excellent especially Jayne who alway provides wonderful service. I dine here twice a week and it is always amazing.

Came with my husband for lunch yesterday, lovely lady called Alex served us, I told her due to my husbands hearing problem could we sit somewhere quiet, no problem and went the extra mile and turned the music down too. She was very considerate nothing too much trouble. The food was wonderful my husband said his steak was cooked to perfection and I had king prawn and vegetable skewers again very nice. The experience was made better with our server Alex thank you Looking forward to coming back

Quite nice, lacking meat on sunday roast really. Asked if we wanted rare or well. One of us had rare, one of us had well. Both were well, no differance. Apple pies were collapsed. Everything tasted spot on though, and 100% will be back again server looked after us well

Firstly breakfast was cold it was buffet style today sent meals back these were reheated egg Rock hard , bacon well that was paper thin some of it over cooked some under cut very disappointing today , waitress was ready to charge for both meals knowing meals were not up to standard , in the end only charged for one , tried a chocolate petit pan as still warm but still uncooked inside awful

A colleague and I had a lovely evening meal after work. The menu is varied. The food was delicious and well presented. The customer service by Jayne was excellent. She was helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. A recommended establishment.

Service was brilliant and food excellent, the actual place needed updating, the toilets smelt disgusting, made me wrench🤢 the signage around the entrance also needs to be a bit clearer, didn't know which way to go

Bar man had no idea what a port andlemon was. The food was mediocre at best and had to wait ages.
