We visited 4 Sep 24 had cod and chips excellently cooked,served very tasty recommend to all for a very good meal and service

I just want to leave our feedback on the take away carvery roast dinner we had yesterday. Simply the best roast dinner we've had in a long time. Beautiful thick slices of meat and piping hot veg plus delicious gravy. So much packed into a box and such good value for money. We'll definitely be back as we thoroughly enjoyed it....😀 My only niggle and this is by no means the Red lions fault but it may have upset some people was the utterly foul language from the group of men sitting on the benches outside. We had to walk past them to enter the pub and heard every filthy word. I wouldn't like my family to have to hear that. I feel it's a shame as they seemed like they may have been regulars...

We went to this pub, there were 3 adults and a 3 year old. The food was absolutely lovely and reasonably priced. There are some tables outside that the kids can run around and let out some energy. There were some crayons and pictures for the kids to colour. The gentleman that served us was lovely, and nothing was too much trouble. I will be going again.

The only reason I dropped the atmosphere to 4 stars was the DJ testing his equipment (a bit loud!), Overall very good.

Staff are amazing all friendly. Speak to everyone with such kindness. All inclusive overall amazing atmosphere!!

Good value for money. Booked a table in advance, which is always the best way. All the food is freshly prepared and cooked, no processed food here. Choice of two meats and plenty of vegetables to indulge in and the chef is on hand to answer any questions. Maybe the only criticism is that the food may be severed a bit hotter but that’s a personal choice.

Been going here for a few weeks now for lunch very beautiful home cooked food tried different things and all been beautiful

Just had the most lovely Carvery at the Red Lion Brereton with my dad and daughter. The staff are all so friendly, nice relaxed atmosphere. All of the food was exceptional. Fresh veggies (peas carrots and my fave cabbage!) beautiful cauliflower and broccoli cheese. Nice buttery mash and crispy roasties. Great flavour to the beef, and the pork was absolute perfection! Trimmings of stuffing balls, pigs in blankets and a yorkie topped off with the richest meaty gravy. I then realised they did takeaway, and boxed up another to take home for my fella. *As a side note, my daughter works in catering and she made a comment that the food hygiene standard was really good. Food was covered over when no one was being served. All food was freshly prepared and brought out in small batches so it stayed fresh and wasn’t standing for ages. And the serving area was extremely clean and tidy* Would recommend this place for a banging Sunday lunch!!

went friday evening food was absolutely lovely home made chips where the absolute best.the pork belly husband was happy as it was a big proper piece which he loved. been a few times and always have a good time xxxx

As a family, we really enjoy visiting the Red Lion. We've had many lovely meals there, the portion sizes are always very generous and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. There's always a variety of different social events from family fun days to music nights that are well organised and great fun. Tony and Sharon are very welcoming and always happy to accommodate our large brood. The kids love playing the table football and my husband enjoys the darts and pool. It's a great place to relax and unwind. Their new menu made up of locally sourced meats and produce is fabulous (A great way to support the community) I'm always excited to see what the specials are and the carvery is top notch. I have a bit of a sweet tooth myself and the puddings are always mouth watering. In a recent visit I had the biscoff cheesecake and it was incredibly moreish. Highly recommend this pub.

Lovely pub my first visit service was quick & friendly, beer was good and very reasonable price, plenty to keep you entertained, toilets were excellent.

The last 18months has seen the red lion improve week after week with the current landlord and landlady making many changes from live entertainment to the all new menu which is fantastic. The food is spot on as well as the entertainment making a great atmosphere and a place that is well worth a visit. Sunday carvery is very good and booking is recommended.

Today we had a Sunday Carvery at The Red Lion Brereton, for £11 each it was excellent, the food was tasty and nice and hot, everything was cooked to perfection and you had a good selection to choose from, the staff were so friendly and service was excellent. Well done to Sharon, Tony and your team.

Absolutely stunning meal! We absolutely love going to the Red Lion, the staff are so friendly and the new managers have made the place thriving again! Looking forward to going for a carvery on a Sunday! We regularly enjoy going to see their live entertainment and the pub is also dog friendly and we love taking our pup, she likes to make herself at home on the sofas🤣 Keep up the amazing work team!!

I visited the Red Lion on Thursday evening with a friend and we loved our experience the new menus are much improved and there is plenty of choice for everyone! Plus’s the food was out of this world and very tasty. Definitely worth a visit if you local or passing by.

The Red lion used to be my Granddad's local back in the day so when bringing my partner back to visit my parents I knew exactly which pub I wanted to take him to. Even though the Red Lion has changed hands many times since my Granddad's day it was good to see that it is still as charming and inviting as ever. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. staff were very friendly and they even welcomed our very hyper active spaniel. We were told that when we arrived they were starting a new menu and getting away from the big chains and becoming independent. If the meal we had was anything to go by the new menu will certainly be a success. If your looking for a pub with a warm welcoming atmosphere and good honest Food then I highly recommend The Red Lion

Wow , went here Friday evening for a very rare night out .. what an amazing night . Pub was packed , lovely age groups . Very friendly . Had a singer on . I had so much fun . And will definitely be visiting again. Popped in for food a couple of times , the food is to die for . 💯 recommended 😘

Had a Sunday carvery here, first time I’ve eaten here for 5 years, it’s my local and had stopped going due to old management and poor quality but now the food was lovely staff were extremely helpful and welcoming and spent under£50 for 4 of us and deserts will definitely be going back 👍

Lovely friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Turkey Sunday dinner was beautiful and plenty of it. No room for a sweet. Within walking distance and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended

We went as a family of six and really enjoyed our visit. The staff are friendly and efficient and the restaurant area is very spacious and an attractively laid out. We had Sunday lunch which was very tasty and had a nice variety of different items. The prices are not the cheapest but the service you get makes this alright.

A lovely Sunday lunch, I had roast beef, lovely and tender. My husband had roasted turkey, and he enjoyed it, too. it was a great value for money, and I absolutely enjoyed my sticky toffee pudding with custard, yummy! Definitely go again.

Well where do I start.. i did leave a great review for this pub but the new owner has shown his true colours, he's the rudest man we have ever met.. he made my misses feel awful shouting at her last time we went in blaming her for something she clearly didn't do.. made my eldest daughter and her boyfriend feel unwelcome when they arrived, told us all to Finnish our drinks and leave.. it's been our local for over 15 years but unfortunately this new owner is going to ruin it treating people like this to be honest if it's making him so miserable he should leave !!!

We’re a group of crafters that also get together for lunch. We arrived around 10am and were shown to a lovely spacious room, where we had a lovely cuppa and did a little bit of crafting and a lot of chatting. We ordered our lunch just after 12 and were pleased to see gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options, all reasonably priced. The staff were very attentive and accommodating to our specific needs. The food was wonderful and was served quickly. There’s disabled parking, disabled toilets, and disabled entryway. We had so much fun we’re going back next week. All in all a brilliant family run establishment.

A good local pub with friendly landlords

Visited this pub late on Saturday afternoon for a few drinks with friends for drinks and ended up having something to eat as well food was lovely cooked perfectly and drinks was equally as nice great service and helpful staff will definitely be back a little hidden gem big thanks to the landlord and lady Toni and Sharon for making it a great experience

Came to celebrate a 40th birthday. Very disappointed. Long wait on the food. Quite small portions. The grazer menu was really awful. The nachos were soggy and had no jalapeños or chives. Chicken wings and pork ribs very dry and tasteless. Had the dirty fries, again no taste. Other people at the table ate them due to the small portions. Drinks incredibly expensive, £10.50 for a beer and a glass of wine. Such a shame as the interior was lovely and cosy. Still got charged full price despite the fact most of my meal was left untouched.

We visited on Tuesday evening for dinner 03/01/23. The pub was pretty much empty but we found out that it had just changed hands. We were made to feel very welcome and we ordered our food. When the food came it was lovely. Well cooked...

We decided no cooking and no washing up for Christmas,glad we chose here. Great welcome,food was lovely and that gravy on the lamb shank was divine. Would recommend highly👍

Really nice pub/restaurant but it was for a very sad occasion, my friends funeral

This venue has only rrecently been taken on by the present management. However, the hospitality is second to none. First Class dining facility with quality meals. The brewery now need to get a grip of the public bar areas. Some decoration and refurbishment is needed to complete the takeover package in support of the new management.

Feel that it is only right to express our anger and disappointment we have with the red lion after our visit this afternoon. We decided to visit after remembrance parade. A family of 9 of us with 5 young children. First of all we walked in and felt like as if we didn’t belong there. Ordering was terrible. Very slow and inaccurate leaving us with missing food for one of the children. When asked if we could put through an order for the missing dish Sallie said I can do but you will have to wait a long time because the chef is doing Sunday lunches. ( the dish missing was a child’s sausage and mash) not a large dish. So we said forget it we can’t wait that long we will make a meal up with the food we had In front of us. Our 5 children was sat fairly quietly eating their dinner and once finished went to go an play outside. Like most children do in the red lion. There was one other couple in the area where we were eating and Sallie decided to shout at the top of her voice from the bar up to where we were sat up the stair. Can you tell your kids to stop screaming and running around because people are eating their dinners. I can 100% and so can that other couple vouch that our children was not running around. Yes they were a little loud through playing and excitement but they were walking from outside to where we were sat. Roughly 10 foot away from door to table. She reckons she shouted us from the bar whilst serving a customer before her public rant Infant of other customers at the bar. Which we only heard her once. Even the chef looked at us as if to say wow what is going on. We quickly left after feeling completely embarrassed over her public rant to us. We decided to come back in to express our concerns to the manager. When we asked her she became very aggressive and said he’s not about he’s upstairs. Started shouting at us again In front of customers when the manager finally come down he didn’t take any interest in what we were saying. Yes it is a restaurant and people are eating and children need to be under control. Ours weren’t exactly causing much of a fuss But this WAS a family friendly pub and we visit quite regular but after today we won’t be returning. And I suggest if the new owners want to succeed they need a rejig of staff because not only was she rude to us she has a face like thunder and isn’t approachable. Very loud and obnoxious.

We are regular to this pub and have used it for both the restaurant and for regular drinking purposes. We have always seen it as a family friendly pub and every manager that has been in this pub has always made it a family friendly...

Tried the steak night. Booked for a table of 5 and on turning up to be told they only had 3 steaks left. Not the best start. Steaks were cooked well though. The veg on the side was cold for one of us. Let's hope it improves else yet again The Red Lion will be seeking new owners.

They have only been in the pub for 3 weeks and with no chef on duty when we visited at lunchtime,we were made to feel very welcome. We were keep well informed regards our order, and the food we had was very good. Tasty, nicely...

Me and my friend went to red lion brereton, as we were told it was under new management, it was absolutely beautiful,meal was hot, very friendly people, and was so nice as a elderly resident of brereton to come for a hot lovely meal within walking distance for us being old age pensioners. Absolutely the best Roast Dinner we’ve had in a long time. The beef just melted in the mouth. The service was first class and the daughter of the pub owner’s was so lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. I praised the parsnip chips and they actually gave me a dish of them to bring home with me. You don’t very often get personal service like that so thank you. We shall be back and will recommend you to all our friends and family. Tessa and Ron Riley.
