We went to the Stag's Leap to celebrate my grandma's 100th birthday. I messaged them first to ask for a nice table and they went above and beyond decorating a table with a helium balloon and a gold tassel curtain on the window as well as buying her a card and a lovely framed poster of things that happened 100 years ago. We had a lovely meal, pudding and drinks. A massive thank you for a lovely afternoon and going above and beyond for a special event.

Really nice food and good value

came for an anniversary meal last night with elderly parents. The meals took 50 minutes to arrive after ordering and then only 3 meals came instead of 4!! The meals were bland and not good value, the staff seemed young and incapable. The pub was practically empty so there was no excuse for bad service. Its a pity as pub in good location but have no desire to return.

Visited this pub on the 13/1/24. Always been a lovely meal. But lastnight was different. Meals came out. Mine was cold so had to send it back. It came back but my husband had already eaten his. So I had to eat alone.

I ordered a well done steak. When it arrived not only was it not well done it was raw in one place. The staff offered a refund, but I asked for a replacement. Obviously the staff were taking the **** as when it came it was a shrivelled up crisp. The waitress who brought it threw it on the table in front of me saying "here's your replacement steak". Not the first time I have visted a Marstons pub where the chef doesn't know how to cook a steak. I won't be visiting a Marstons pub again or recommend them.

Very disappointed, ran out of carvery on a Sunday afternoon and staff never told us until we had ordered drinks and sat down. Food cold staff useless portions small very overpriced. Not be bothering visiting again!!!!!

I booked a table for 7 for a birthday and early Father’s Day from the moment we arrived the staff were friendly especially Gemma who served me,was asked if anyone had any allergies (my son is coeliac) and it was great to have a choice for him he went for the spicy burger meals came quickly were hot no complaints even my youngest ate all his food we will be dining again very soon

Alicia served us today and was more than happy to cater for a fussy eater. Our food was served to our table very quickly by Ryan and Kieron. The food was hot on arrival and the meat cooked perfectly and as requested. The staff are always friendly and helpful and we have never had a bad meal here. 👍

I’ve visited the stags leap on several occasions over the years and always enjoyed going in, a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff and a good selection of food and drink available.

Staff all look moody and stressed, We sat outside firstly the tables and chairs need replacing, people running food were wondering around with plates of food dodging the numerous kids running up n down from the bouncy castle to the other end , had the football hit our table a few times! seems to be no set area for kids, couldnt hear my conversations due to kids shouting and play fighting...yes a pub has kids and ive no issues but a area needs to be kept too..ordered food, burger n fries great, side of chips, and the mac n chesse with buttermilk chicken which on its own cost 6.99 the smallest pot ever! not worth 6.99 more like 1.99 even as a starter its was tiny! chips were green/black and had to sort through them so had 5 chips that could be eaten..Just a overall mixed bag of feelings of the stags leap, didnt enjoy my visit on this occassion.

It was a really hot day but it was lovely and cool inside, the food we ordered was piping hot and delicious, we had starter, mains and pudding,everything was just perfect, we have been before and on occasion not so good but couldn't fault this time at all

The staff very good! Felt ripped off with the food tho, ordered the light margarita pizza which cost £11.50 and it wasn’t even 8 inches, it was very small! Could have had a meal at other pub chains (Wetherspoons) for that price! Will definitely think twice about eating at this chain again

Me and my family visited the pub this evening and we were served by a woman called gemma. She was incredibly blunt and rude when I showed her my discount card, as if it was a massive inconvenience. Her attitude in general made it appear like she had better things to be doing. Me and my family wish to not be served by her again.

Staff are lovely as always. Restaurant clean and busy. Our starters came out quickly but missing sauce which we didn’t complain about as we used ketchup. I ordered the veggie burger which was absolutely foul which was such a shame. It was soaked in salsa, inedible and cold. I couldn’t pick up the burger without the entire contents falling out. I would have told the server but unfortunately I had to take a call when she came to clear the table. Real shame and such a waste of money.

The pub was relatively quiet and I waited 40 minutes for my food and had to ask where it was as my friends had been bought over a while before mine. Food wasn't the nicest this time & I ended up taking most of it home.

Lovely evening tonight. Great food & superb service. Thank you for making our night that extra bit special by doing our birthday cake.

A birthday party consisting of 10 adults plus children (3) We were treated very well, nothing was too much trouble, a great time was had by all, thank you.

Called in about 2 pm went to the bar to order waited 20 minutes to place a order got totally ignored other people was getting there order in front of me the people saw me standing there smiled and carried on severing other people me and my partner walked out that was on the 21 /04 /2024 won't going there again

Popped in for a quick meal. Service was quick, good atmosphere tonight. Food was nice. Just wish these chains would have something other than the same meals as every other chain.

Having recently moved to the area and receiving a discount voucher for this pub we decided to give it a try. Looks very nice from the outside and given the area it's in we were expecting good things. However, after waiting for nearly 45 mins for our order, with no update on the delay, I sought out a staff member to enquire where it was. Without even asking our table number he jumped in with "it's just being plated up now". He then disappeared into the kitchen and returned - almost 10 minutes later - with our order, so if it hadn't been sitting under a heat lamp we guessed he must have put the order up himself. The food was at best adequate - we've had the same dishes elsewhere at a cheaper price and better quality. My fish was more batter than fish abd the chips were rather dry and tasteless, and my companion claimed the burger he had wasn't any better than ones he's had at Wetherspoons. Glad we had a discount voucher as the food definitely wasn't worth the full price listed in the menu. Disappointing, as it's close enough to have become our 'local' but we have no plans to return any time soon.

Very satisfied with the service we got thankyou for helping out with my grandaughters birthday cake too. Above and beyond under the circumstances was very much appreciated

We had a dreadful time here before Christmas but decided to give it another go today. Staff were friendly, food was nice and arrived hot and in a timely manner. Much improved.

Nice pub, friendly and attentive staff. Food big let down I'm sad to say. My friend had macaroni cheese, was more like cheese soup. My jacket was old and yellow, been done a while.

Lovely meal,May help if you tell people to come up to bar and order yourself as we waited 15 mins and no one came to table,we had only booked for an hour,meal service was pretty quick though and we was finished for 4.50 so all in all really good.More onion rings on thd mixed grill please 😁😁

Came here for my partners birthday. Ordered food at 5 and it came out within 15 minutes. Excellent quality, steak cooked to perfection. 6 year old had a pizza which was perfectly made, and she had an excellent experience all round. Friendly and professional staff. Will come again!

Orderd a roast turkey dinner ,waited about half hour for it .when it came ,there was about 5/6 tiny ( and I meant tiny ) roasters ,one sprig of broccoli, a spoon of mash potatoes ,2 slices of turkey ,gravey and then all over the top was cranberry sauce,which drowned the meal ,in fact there was more cranberry, sause than the dinner itself , and that was hiding a lot of fat and grisly skin off the turkey. Not worth the £13.99 they charged for it .safe to say ,won't be eating there again .No one asked if we had enjoyed our meal ,

Upon our arrival a very polite man called Aaron greeted us took us to our table. The restaurant was very clean. The bar staff was very friendly and polite Aaron took our food order again very polite the food came out quickly and was hot the food was delicious no complaints from our table once finished our table was cleared of our empty plates and we ordered dessert which was equally just as good as the mains again no complaints,overall we had an amazing experience and the food is great and the price too is really good.. Thank you to all those at stags leap rugeley.

We enjoyed a lovely Valentine’s Day meal here the staff were super friendly and helpful, the restaurant was spotless and I thought the candle and rose petals on our table were such a lovely touch. Our food was absolutely delicious and it was fantastic value for money.

I celebrated my 60th birthday in this venue, with my family. Sarah & Ryan were absolutely perfect hosts and a credit to the business.

Been here a few times because it's convenient. But it's always been pretty much the same. There's always been a relatively large queue to order food and drink. Just 2 staff behind the bar. Lucky because often there's just 1. To be fair once you've had the patience to do this the food isn't bad. Our waitress was very helpful, she even found us a table and sorted out the missing chair. Would I recommend it? Not really. Will I go again? Probably. Oh! They'd run out of Guinness as well ... seriously!

Came for my fathers birthday had 3 carvery's ordered two roast beef and one turkey roast the turkey was good, the beef was very tough like leather and so I had to send them back then on one the roast potatoes were burnt black rock hard so in the end we ended up changing the two roast beef diners to one chicken and one turkey instead absolutely appalling the service was not good at all Won’t be coming again.

The menu here is the standard Marston’s menu (with the welcome addition of pizzas) and whilst it is well cooked and always tasty, this can be found in 100s of pubs so it is not particularly the food that makes the Stag’s Leap exceptional. What does is the staff team lead by an outstanding manager. Whenever you visit it doesn’t matter who serves you they are always brilliant. Smartly presented, friendly, polite, welcoming and go out of their way to help without being imposing and genuinely seem to enjoy their job. Any good team needs a good leader and this seems to go right the way down. A nicely laid out pub, great staff and decent food. The prices aren’t cheap but not ridiculous and you can be sure of quality personal service. Highly recommended.

I went with my friends for dinner and was served by a lady called Paris she was very kind and offered great service to us all, the food was quick and tasted great and she made sure there was no issues and asked how it was frequently 100% would come back soon

Came here for a family get together. Burger and drink deal is good value for money, and the cowboy burger is delicious! Staff friendly, and the atmosphere was great! Will definitely be coming again.

Bought my daughter in for a surprise treat after doing well at school. She had Pizza which was lovely and freshly made to order, I had the steak which was cooked beautifully. The service was prompt for a fairly busy tea time, and the staff were very friendly.

Have been visiting stags leap for a few weeks and not had any problems, but, today was terrible service and ended up walking out. Don't mind waiting for my turn, but when staff were free to serve, walked straight passed me asking who was next and walked straight over to young girl who had just walked up to the bar. Wouldn't mind but server was stood straight opposite me making ice cream. Sorry but shan't be back. £46.00 our normal weekly bill. Obviously our custom is not needed.

The food was nice, but we were at the pub for 3 hrs, considering we pre-ordered our food we felt we should have been served much quicker. We had to chase servers for our main meal to be bought out twice, then we had to again chase servers twice again for our puddings to be bought out too. We felt like we spent most of Boxing Day at the pub waiting for our food. 3 of our party ordered cherry bonbs for pudding but we had a phone call to say they had to choose other choice as there was a supply problem, 2 ordered the ice cream sundae which we were told over the phone would consist of vanilla & chocolate ice cream with brownie pieces and fresh cream, marshmallows and chocolate sauce, when they came out all that was in the sundae dish was just 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of chocolate sauce on them, basically it was just a dish of ice cream - very disappointing for a celebration pudding.

Good quality pub food with a good choice on the menu, shame the pizza oven had broken down , dissapointed children thecworst night ever LOL. The puddings made up for it.

The food today was ok , was very disappointed there wasn't the choice of the festive menu as advertised on their website. I was told that they don't offer the menu to walk ins and they would need 48 hours notice ???? We weren't walk ins as I booked well over a week ago. Just be aware that the festive menu isn't available as advertised.

Met friends for a pre-booked three course Christmas meal on Friday night and we all thought the food was delicious and good value. Fabulous service and helpful, friendly staff. Thanks for a lovely evening.

We had a lovely family meal at the Stag’s Leap, all of the staff were so friendly, the kids enjoyed playing on the pool table and all the food was fantastic.
