Wow! Came for afternoon tea and we were not disappointed! Cannot fault anything, from the friendly welcome that we received and the amazing food. Coffee was delicious and despite our best efforts we failed to finish the gorgeous cakes, we were however supplied with a box to bring it home with us to enjoy later! Highly recommend and will be back again! Thanks

Always a pleasure to go to AJs. Menu has a wide variety of options and the home made chips are the best. Dog friendly including treats available, Tommy our staffy was made very welcome.

I got recommended this pub, I went there with my family and got a warm reception from the locals and staff. I would like to say this pub was like those gems that you come across every now and then, not fancy/hidden away and absolutely amazing, if you like fresh ingredients and good food this is the place for you, I would highly recommend eating at the Bell & Bails, delightful experience

Location: convenient to the town of Newport and have their own car park Service: We booked for Sunday lunch, our table wasnât ready at the time we booked but thatâs fine, we werenât in a rush and the place seemed busy, most tables were occupied. Restaurant: Busy for Sunday lunch which we thought was a good sign. Cutlery and crockery very clean as was the table. The (fabric) seats could do with a wipe/wash/replace perhaps. A very cosy tea room vibe otherwise. Food: We ordered the pork Sunday lunch & the vegetarian quorn wellington. The pork was plentiful & was good to have a few different meat options with different sides, this came with crackling. The quorn wellington was okay, the mushroom/red wine jus was lovely but there were too many soggy mushrooms in the wellington. Probably wouldnât order again however did appreciate as a vegetarian having a choice of options (the other being shepherds pie). The temperature of the veg and cauliflower cheese was not very hot (lukewarm) - I initially put this down to the place being busy but thinking about it, they would be constantly cooking these dishes so should be hot/fresh. We both also ordered the baileys white chocolate cheesecake which was lovely. Price: A good deal we thought, at 2 courses for ÂŁ22, compared with other Sunday lunches. Overall: 5/10 we will continue our search for the best Sunday lunch

Great place lovely in the sun outside :) , great staff one member i believe named Zack was an absolute credit to them so polite and helpful explained so much to us and bought our food out not before giving our table a quick wipe down (even though it wasnât even that dirty) made our experience so much more welcoming and delightful! Highly recommend!

We want to thank the wonderful Jackie for her kindness on making us marvellous fresh cups of tea to go an hour before official opening of the tea rooms as we had arrived early by car from the Belfast/Liverpool ferry en route to a wedding in Cornwall and were in desperate need of a refreshing brew
