Always great quality food and friendly staff, with a relaxed atmosphere.

1 night stay..very nice room bar garden..only let down was break fast As beans were cold and hash browns Reheated or not cooked and cold.. We all left them..

Sunday lunch at 2.30 tasted as if it was cooked in the morning and deep fried potatoes several times to keep them warm, couldn't get a fork in them so hard , meat was inedible and advertised whipped cream and served squirty cream!

Met up with some friends for lunch. Greeted warmly by staff, well cooked and prepared food with I think something to suit most people. Because of driving only a half of best bitter was taken but able to tell that ales were well looked after and of good quality. Have been to this establishment before and had the same quality food and service, it's good to find somewhere consistent. Well pleased 😀😀

Really enjoyed our meal. I had chilli con carne and my husband had the pie which was steak, red wine and mushroom. Our desserts were cherry cheesecake and trifle. The meals were really tasty, service was good. Have been 3 times before and not had a bad meal or experience

Booked as a family of 4 adults and 1 child. Decor lovely, staff attentive and professional. We had a camembert starter, a kids scampi, fish n chips, lamb Henry, Gammon steak and a beef Balti. It was nice don't get me wrong, my meal I thought was mediocre (I had the camembert and the lamb) the camembert was nice and perfectly runny in the middle. The Garnish was just a few chopped peppers - some leaves aswell would have been a little better. The lamb gravy was heavily saturated on the plate, It tasted bland so everything on my plate tasted of bland gravy. Shame really as the dish sounded full of flavour on the menu. My child's scampi came out raw, which we had changed and the 2nd lot even though the breadcrumbs were darker the scampi again was undercooked, I'm guessing the oil in the fryer was old. The chips I recognised as the skin on chips from Bookers, shame not homemade chips. I didn't complain as everyone else's meals were great. Maybe I'm just a little critical. I gave 4 out of 5 stars as 3 out of 5 meals were great and the staff and decor lovely. Would happily try again another time.

We booked a table for Friday night the restaurant was busy but not full. After ordering our drinks we were ready to order which went smoothly. It was then an hour before we received any food by which time we had been to the bar to order more drinks as no one had been to the table to ask. The meals were good and some a little different to what you see elsewhere. I ordered the mixed grill which was substantial but I had been asked how I wanted the steak cooked. I appreciate it was only a small piece of meat but when I found it hidden under the gammon it certainly wasn’t as requested but then as it was so thin it would never be medium rare. The other dishes on our table were all chicken based and were well received. We looked at the desert menu but as we were all quite full nothing on there was tempting enough to encourage us to make room. It’s a good venue but like many others in the industry it appears to be short staffed and those they do have need to have time give the customers the attention they deserve. Finally I don’t really like the fact they are setting tables for breakfast while we are eating our evening meal.

We ordered the two steaks and a bottle of wine deal. We upgraded from rump to sirloin and asked for one medium and one blue steak. The latter with salad instead of chips, peas and onion rings. We shared a starter of mussels which was excellent although we were not given a plate or cutlery for this. When the steaks arrived mine (blue) was pale pink on the outside but on the inside cooked right through. My husband’s was also more well done than medium. We complained about mine and it was removed and another one arrived. This too was pale pink on the outside, comprising a third fat, and slightly rarer than the first. It was accompanied by a tiny salad on a considerably smaller plate compared to my husband’s. When I remarked on this I got a shoulder shrug. On payment my husband pointed out about the poor steak and as we had eaten there frequently I said I was surprised. Again the brush off until we asked if they were going to discount the meal. They took off the £5:50 for the steak upgrade. We left and do not plan on going back. We are very upset as we live within walking distance and up until now looked forward to going there.

Good standard of food for a hotel. Mackerel mousse and crackers with a dressed side salad was very nice. Hot, fluffy chips too. Pleasant staff a bonus.

We visited for lunch with friends, one meal was an un edible Thai curry, it ended up like rice and anaemic chicken floating in water? When asked about it it, the lady stated it was made with coconut milk, this looked like it had been frozen and defrosted. Definitely not fresh, could not eat it and it was left. Well disappointed.

Great beer garden and good food

Visited with friends for the last supper before tier 2. Steak and wine offer, lovely bottle of red, excellent meal, good size portions, staff very friendly and helpful, all set up for social distancing. Definitely be back when the madness subsides.

Nice steak and chip meal but the evening was completely ruined by a table of six opposite us. The male guests were drunk, overly loud, swearing profusely, burping ect, - completely loutish behaviour. My question to the management is why they didn’t take any action to curtail their antics. They were being served more alcohol despite their obvious drunkenness. Not nice for a couple trying to enjoy a nice meal. We couldn’t wait to leave. If acceptance of this obvious drunken behaviour is allowed and tolerated by the management, then I say it’s best avoided.

We in our house love the Whitehouse.Its a family tradition on all celebrations to come. We are regulars to their Monday madness! Food is just lovely,plentiful and so tasty. Drinks are reasonable and a good range. Was asked for details for track and trace and all covid rules were in place. Best steak I have ever eaten! Staff are just the best,attentive and funny and nothing is too much trouble. Would recommend 100% If you are local or passing through give this place a go,I really dont think you will be disappointed.

Quiet and ushered out as no one else there

My first meal out since restrictions relaxed. Alex the gentleman that served us was wonderful and interacted with my little girl. food was also very nice kids meal very good not your standard kids meal. even accommodated a kids apple crumble that wasn't on the standard menu. 100% recommend

Just had a wonderful cooked Sunday Roast with all the trimmings. It was delivered direct to our Barn by the wonderful Oscars Restaurant located in White House Hotel in Muxton. Absolutely delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly and they use first class Meat and fresh vegetables. I had the Roast Beef which was so soft. Hubby had Braised Lamb again melted in his mouth. Perfect Home made Crunchy Roast Pots and Parsnips. Al dente vegatables. Tasty Gravy. Home baked Yorkshire’s. Well impressed and do hope they continue to offer this service. 🤞It’s a trial at the moment but believe me if you can’t get out and /or don’t feel like all the hard work of cooking a full Sunday Lunch then it’s definitely a must! 😋🍽🍴🥄🍲

For the first time ever we decided to have Christmas dinner at a restaurant.As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the staff with a smile and shown straight to our table.The tables weren't positioned close together to increase trade,we had a comfortable space around us.Drinks order was taken and delivered straight away.My wife had the sea bass whilst I opted for traditional turkey and our son went for the vegetarian option.We were all delighted with our food,it was beautifully cooked,presented well and hot.We were given a complementary bucks fizz but refused the mince pies after the meal as we were all full.The staff were a delight,all being super efficient and smiling throughout.We all agreed it was an excellent dining experience and would recommend it to anyone.We will certainly be returning next Christmas.

No need to off worried after reading some of the reviews. What a lovely place and the food was lovely. Staff were all very polite and we had great service from the start to the end of our meal. Excellent service. The food that we had was lovely, well presented and we all enjoyed what we picked. Even the kids really enjoyed the food and said how nice it was. The food was full of flavour,lots of it and overall of a high standard. Overall I would 100% return back and would recommend this place to other's. Excellent and went out of here way to make sure we were all happy. Even put a candle in our pudding and sang Happy Birthday. Went the extra mile which to us show's great customer service.

We were excited about celebrating my birthday and we decided to go to the Whitehouse in Muxton. Big mistake. The staff were not friendly and the food took a long time and it arrived cold. Do not eat at this restaurant.

Wonderful meals for a friends forthcoming wedding - we planned for 100 guests over 2 days at the restaurant and everything was really great, food was superb and the staff helpful friendly and efficient - they made everything run very smoothly - big thank you to Alex and Vanessa who helped with all the arrangments, couldn't ask for a better experience -thank you to all the team

travelled along way 200 miles so was looking forward to evening meal ,so disapointed ordered the lamb henry ,,and was kept waiting 45 minutes ,by this time i was more tired than hungry and nearly walked out,we ordered the lamb henry apparently with root vegtables ,,when it finally arrived it was a huge amount of mash potatoe with a piece of lamb on top ,no bigger than a small beef burger,,and 4 carrots ,with the tinyest amount of gravy,,egg cup amount nearly 30 pounds ,never again so so not worth it

We had a large table for a surprise meal for a big birthday! The restaurant was quite busy which unfortunately meant service was a little slow I think was just a result of too few staff. The food itself was excellent and enjoyed by all. The mushroom Romaine is always a popular starter. I particularly enjoyed the asparagus with hollandaise sauce. For the mains the chicken roulade was enjoyed a number of the dinners. I had the beef stroganoff which was rich and tasty. The steaks were good too. Only a few made it to deserts! All agreed that we had enjoyed a lovely meal and would be happy to dine here again.

Having been several times and loving the food it was a no brainer that I would like a meal with my husband and mother in law to celebrate my birthday. On arrival we got the same great service as always. Drink ordered and starters came quite quickly , then we waited and waited and waited watching people coming in after us having their mains. Had to speak with a young waiter who apologized then within a minute or 2 our food arrived plus a very small portion of veg and cauliflower cheese. The plates were cold so the meat was slightly warm. Other tables had lots of veg also roasted parsnips which we hadn't had. I asked a young waitress if there was any parsnips she replied they had ran out, then a few minutes later she came and said they had just done some.....when they arrived they were stone cold obviously not just out of the oven more like left over from another table. We asked for our beef to be med rare but came well done and where was my Yorkshire pudding the menu stated it on the trio of meats. Once dinner was done the plates were cleared so we waited for the dessert menu (which normally you are offered when they clear the mains) so we waited and waited and in the end decided to leave disappointed was not the word. When I went to pay I spoke with the lady and said how disappointed we were and felt like we were forgotten about. She apologized and said they will do better next time and that was it I paid £47 for a cold Sunday lunch where some of the veg were off another table. I'm due back in 2 weeks for a family get together let's hope you do try better next time

Visited on Saturday evening, we ate in the bar. We were a party of four, we all ordered the 2 steaks and bottle of wine deal. The others in the group all said the steaks were first class, all were cooked exactly as ordered. Mine however was only warm, and the mushrooms just off cold. Normally I would have sent it back, but needed to be somewhere. TV was too loud showing football. probably should have eaten in the restaurant.If you want to eat early eat before 5p.m. as the prices significantly increase at 5 except for the steak and wine deal.

Great service and excellent food.

Have started to have regular launches at this restaurant as the food offered and deliver us first class. Proper home cooked food. Can recommend the Prawn Cocktail Stater, full of mixed salad and masses of juicy prawns. It’s huge and extremely tasty. The main courses of Homeade Pies and the Tempura Lighly Battered Fish, Haddock Mornay, Scampi etc are all delicious and presented beautifully. Forget your chain restaurants and try Oscars, we are never disappointed. Kevin, Vanessa and all the waiters are really helpful and attentive at all times. We will return, return and return.....

Absolutely superb. The food is fab always and this time had the xmas fayre. A good range of choices. There was 30 of us ,all served together .Excellent in all ways. The staff couldnt do enough for us xx

Food was good all well cooked and presented.Drinks weee poor G&Ts were warm. A bottle of wine was ordered but just put down in middle of the table, top not taken off nor asked if we wanted to try first.Tables & chairs were dirty.Probably most disappointing was the atmosphere, no background music all you could hear was shouting and language from the bar area. Very few Christmas decorations we even turned the window lights on our selves.Shame really as food was good but let down by service and the restaurant cleanliness and lack of effort to give it a Christmas feel.Needs to up its game with such good other places not too far away such as The Fox but with a little more attention to detail alongside the good food could become a lot better

First time I've been here and if I could complain about the food being too filling and tasty I would. The He Man Burger was such a tasty meal. You can tell the burger was made in house. Would like to try more of their menu if I'm ever this way again

We’re extremely lucky in that The White House (and Oscars) is our local so we are regulars. Decided to pop in last week to pay for our (prebooked) Christmas Lunch and, as often happens stayed to eat.

Visited The White House Hotel at Muxton for the first time in four years for a lunchtime meal. It is slightly more difficult to get to the The White House Hotel at present as Wellington Road is closed off as you leave Donnington Wood Way (A4640) just after the shops at Muxton. The large car park is at the front of the hotel with the restaurant accessible through the main front door whilst the lounge bar is accessed through a door on the left hand side of the building. There appears to be a large amount of outdoor seating by this doorway with a lot more to the rear of the property.

Visited here 6 April, had a very nice meal with the Special Steak Menu which was very tasty. The restaurant was very busy which speaks volumes.

We go to this lovely pub restaurant quite often. We think the menu is great and the quality of the food excellent. The staff are always charming and helpful and really friendly. Nice atmosphere in either the pub or restaurant and there is a lovely patio outside with huge beer garden.

I have eaten here a few times as a family and for a Christmas party, food has always been very nice, good service and a friendly atmosphere. They do a nice lunch menu and a good range of food options.

A family member booked for my husband and I to join him on boxing day for a meal at this hotel, but unfortunately he was unable to come due to I'll heath. We still went and this was our first visit even though we live only a few miles away. I was very impressed how good the meal was, how lovely the hotel was decorated for Christmas and how good all the staff were. We were even gave us a voucher towards another meal due to our relative who was unable to go. We look forward to our next meal and will be booking for next Christmas.

It was a very snowy day.A very snowy indeed to the point we wanted to go out for Sunday lunch but it had got to be somewhere we could walk to,so we thought well go to the White House we rang up and they could fit as in, if fact it was empty when we got there probably due to the weather. The meal was very nice, apart from the vegetables. Sprouts hard as a rock couldn’t stab them with a fork. Roast parsnips had only just seen the oven and also hard. Cauliflower cheese the same. Carrots fine. Why o why do chefs think we like raw vegetables? I love vegetables and I don’t like them soggy. Don’t they taste them or stick a fork in them like we do at home. Spoilt meal also a mint would have been a nice touch with the coffee.

This place is local to us so a mid week stroll to get two excellent steaks and decent bottle of red (or white) wine was a tempting offer. Great service, delicious food and perfectly cooked to order. Highly recommended - will return.

Not from around the area, but myself and 8 others thoroughly enjoyed our food here. Well presented and delicious food, a surprise delight. The service was merely ok though. The waitresses were pleasant enough but had to be asked over every time we wanted to order the drinks or food. So need to be more attentive! Still, recommended...

We thought we'd nip somewhere new for a steak - now in fairness the fillet steak was beautiful BUT the staff let us down - they were polite but not exactly full of customer service. There was my husband and myself so we were shown to a tiny table for 2 - the place was only half full. There was a table full of a family who were staying in the hotel at the next table and we were put on the table right beside them as there were only 2 of us - my husband asked to go to a table for 4 as there was more room - what he really meant was away from a loud family of slightly leary manner-less Scottish people and their three screaming kids - These people got up and down from their table like their bums were on fire and shouted to each other accorss the dining room - finally the kids were taken to bed but that didnt stop Granny and Grandad still wandering around and shouting at each other! The staff were seemly amused by the children and adults milling around the room - we were not amused. THEN the staff started preparing the room for Breakfast service for the morning - so obviously they dont want people to enjoy the restaurant - I felt like we were in the naffest of hotels. We are not going back - doesnt matter how beautiful your steak is - oh did I mention a few leaves doesnt really contistute vegetables.

When my wife booked she asked if there was an a la carte menu for lunch on Sunday. The person in the hotel said yes.When we got there we were presented with the Sunday Menu. I queried this and was told that there was no a a la carte menu on a Sunday. To be fair we were informed that they would do their best to fit in with our requirements. This was done, however I left with the feeling that we were in the wrong. We have lived in this village for 34 years and disappointed, because when we first came here there was nothing to touch it. We brought some friends here some time ago and the meals were awful but we took a chance and brought a friend here for a birthday treat.Our meals were acceptable, but this could be a jewell in the centre of the village and we will be tempted to go elsewhere for acceptable service. There are better restaurants within a short distance. I thought the customer was King-not any more here in my opinion.

The meals were well cooked and service was good but the prices were high compared with similar meals locally.

Popped in for a spot of lunch...not many in however the staff were very obliging and friendly..and the food was good and excellent value for money...will certainly try it again.

Encontramos con familiares en la posición central y tan pronto como entramos en sabíamos que estábamos a punto de pasar un buen rato. El ambiente era justo y el saludo era cálido y acogedor. Mi esposa comentó sobre su comida y la mía también era genial. Nadie con hambre, todos nos fuimos de acordar que se reunirá de nuevo aquí.

Tuvimos nuestra cena allí durante su estancia en el hotel. Especialmente como del hecho de que los platos clásicos como DE antiguo de teca Diane' y 'carne stroganoff" en el menú.

Visitamos el sábado en un tiempo Oscars almuerzo, es un lugar agradable en busca de enfoque con un gran aparcamiento, siempre útil. Como era cálido y soleado había algunas personas de estar fuera tener una bebida o una comida.

Ho cenato qui per due sere visto la mia permanenza nell'hotel adiacente. Piatti abbondanti e ben curati. Il servizio è ben curato ed il personale pronto a soddisfare ogni richiesta. L'ambiente è tipico inglese.

Having written a glowing review previously it is disappointing to write this one. Clearly there have been staff changes since we were there last. The greeting was downbeat and at least some of the staff gave the impression they would rather have been somewhere else. First of all the prosceco we ordered was warm and took a long time to cool. Not a big problem on it's own and the chap at least delivered an ice bucket with some water. My starter, the pate, was ok although because the serving plate a "slate" is too small there is insufficient toast to eat the pate. Again a small point. When we come to my wife's starter the problems really began. The camembert meant to be warm enough to dip the accompanying bread was cold. The restaurant replaced it but with an even colder version! My wife decided to call it quits and have a pate instead. To be fair to the man in charge he responded well to our complaints. All of this pratting about meant that our steak and ale pies main course had been left in the oven far too long resulting in overcooked hard pastry. The meat was ok but salty. We decided not to complain again. It was only the action of the chap in charge in reducing the bill that gets this review a 2. Its a shame but we won't be returning.

A group of four normally eat out once a fortnight around Telford and this place is definitely doing things right.The staff are all tuned in to their customers but never in your face a skill which I think is generally lacking in the Telford area. Do the competitors make any attempt to train their staff.We had 4 different starters and mains and we were all well pleased with our selections WELL DONE TO ALL
