Wrekin Giant in Telford and Wrekin

Came in with family friends for my sisters baby shower food was amazing the atmosphere was great a nice busy Saturday all the staff was also amazing and I want to say massive thank you to Chelsea she was absolutely amazing from the moment we all stepped through the door it’s was an absolute delight we will back again.

Unfortunately although we had booked a table there was no one available to allocate us a table so we were unable to order our food via the App and when we tried the WiFi was poor so we had to go to the bar to order only to find that some items on the menu were out of stock. The food we got was not bad the dining experience was not one to remember. Disappointed and most probably will not go here again!

Great and friendly staff, Claire was an absolute star, professional and friendly. Visited the pub early in the morning on the 6th with my colleague. The place looks cozy, modern and vibrant. Definitely coming back.

Claire was all smiles and bubbly, easy to chat to first thing in the morning.

The customer service assistant Kelly was very attentive asking if everything was ok and brought our drinks over to the table excellent customer service

Front of house found us a table despite it being busy. Ordered using the app but there was an issue paying with PayPal, I had to reorder and used Google pay which worked. I was concerned as I had been charged twice, but did receive an automated refund for the PayPal transaction. Food arrived in a timely manner and was very good, excellent value for the Sunday lunch deal.

Visited here on Saturday, we booked a table beforehand. The manager called Lauren was lovely. It was very busy but the service was very good. We was told a wait on food as we were seated which we didn’t mind as we could see how busy it was. We tried the walk in festive menu, my mum had the soup which she said was really nice. We will definitely be rebooking for our next family meal.

Had a great Friday night meal, the service was amazing thanks to the special efforts of the manager Lauren I believe. The food was perfect just as I expected at a reasonable price as always and the atmosphere was lovely for the end of the week.

Great place to eat, especially for breakfasts / brunch. Large breakfast menu to suit all appetites. Can get very busy in here so if you don't like overly busy places then choose your time carefully - 8am usually pretty quiet! Great view over the lake and near the town park for walking off your breakfast. Friendly staff

A great place for hearty meals at very reasonable prices. Offers for every day of the week and actively encourages family meals. A menu full of popular pub grub, and a few non British dishes, that are well cooked and delivered quickly. Highly recommend.

Came as a party of 11 for our team night out and staff was amazing and super quick ! Thank you for making our night :)

What can I say, the girl with braces who served us at the till didn't have a friendly approach at all, she could see us waiting to be served and completely ignored us for a whole 10 minutes, very 1 word responsive, not only that but she absolutely reeked of B.O which was very unpleasant, we tried to choose the best possible table which was absolutely disgusting 🫣 food all over the floor not welcoming or hygienic in the slightest. Once we got our food it wasn't even hot but tepid luke warm and then hours later gained diarrhea and a bad stomach which I can only presume was from the food, and the glasses we received didn't look clean at all. Overall a very bad experience 😕 new management and team definitely needed here.

We recently visited The Wrekin Giant as a group of seven and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The drinks menu also impressed us with a great selection of beverages, including some creative cocktails and refreshing soft drink options. It was clear that a lot of thought had gone into ensuring there was something for everyone. What stood out the most was the exceptional service. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit. Despite being a larger group, they ensured all our needs were met without any delays or mix-ups. They were quick to respond to any requests and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. The atmosphere at The Wrekin Giant was warm and welcoming, making it the perfect setting for our gathering. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If you're looking for a family-friendly venue with great food, drinks, and outstanding service, we highly recommend The Wrekin Giant. We'll definitely be back soon!

I came here this evening for food and was impressed with a young lad called Jamie, very polite and well mannered and made sure everything was ok with our food. The food was lovely also.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat, and a coffee, my wife and I, very happy with menu offer and the much needed coffee. Staff were very attentive and the Duty Manager "Claire" and her team made us feel valued, Food reasonable in price. Will be going again

Super good deal on food - 2 meals + pudding was 7.50 Kirsty was really sweet and helpful Brandon had a large amount of knowledge on the drinks and was able to help choose something I’d like Jack (chef) made the food perfectly and was very tasty

Every time I have been here the food had been incredible and the people are so nice

Wonderful meal today with my daughter, whilst there we witnessed a customer complaint where sadly staff were threatened and the manager dealt with it wonderfully ensuring that both customers and more importantly her staff were kept safe and free from anymore abuse. Staff went out of their way to apologise to us afterwards and ensure that our dining experience wasn’t ruined.

Good visit. Just a couple things, two ladies working at the bar, both had braces, just chatting away at the dishwasher side, then they saw me waiting and carried on chatting, then decided to serve me and was complaining about their shifts, it was actually quicker to get a drink on the app than them two serving. I booked a table and stated that we had a wheelchair user, and would need a chair moving, which I got a reply I think from Emma, to say it’s been added to the notes, yet we had to move a chair ourselves so that was pointless. The lady who brought out our food was AMAZING, wish I could have tipped her, but didn’t see her before we left. Food was great, came out hot and pretty quick.

We visited this weekend Staff were absolutely amazing so friendly helpful fun and very professional. Manager was superb and great with her staff we visit every year and are never disappointed. Thank you again We will back again

I came on my own and the staff were very welcoming. I was struggling with getting access to WiFi and the staff couldn't be anymore helpful. Wonderful breakfast too. Great way to start the day.

Just had the Christmas Dinner, it was awful. Roast potatoes clearly warmed up in the deep fat fryer. A miniscule amount of turkey and 1 square inch of overdone stuffing. Food served without cutlery and then after a wait only forks available. Knives eventually turned up! Really wish I hadn't bothered.

Never have I had a more pleasant meal. Lauren was so polite and helpful, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food was 10/10 and the service was A*. Thanks to the amazing manager Lauren for the wonderful care given to us. Will be coming again.

Booked our annual Christmas meal with a table for 12 on 20th July for 4.30pm on Saturday 30th November at The Wrekin Giant in Telford. We arrived early at 4.15pm to be told our reserved table had been taken. There were a LOT of empty tables, maybe that should have been our clue to go somewhere else. We moved small tables to create enough space for all of us and we were offerred blue light discount of 15% from our bill. Blue light is a special discount for retired workers & members of the emergency services, which should always be accompanied by proof of identity so that it is not misused. We all placed our orders, having to change what we wanted when a few were not available. Dishes arrived in dribs and drabs. While in most cases the 'meat' was freshly cooked and hot the accompaniments were either cool, cold, undercooked or burnt. One dish the burnt smell was so strong we could all smell it coming, all the vegetables on the Sizzler plate were burnt in place. Pudding, when it arrived was interesting, apple crumble with extra berries on the side. It took 4 attempts to get my order right, with the manageress coming over to say the waitress who delivered the first wrong pudding was only new and was upset that it had been wrong and sent back. I did not berate or raise my voice at this young girl, most of the servers were young and appeared to be new. There were many empty tables and after our experience we could understand why. After using this restaurant for many years we are looking at an alternative for next year. Responded to the Owner by email and have not had a reply

Ordered four meals and one was wrong and two were cold so the four of us pretty much ate at different times. Went here a few years ago, and it was great, it's gone right down hill and definitely won't be going back 😠

Not great -limited beers available-abbott ale or Abbott ale . Usual all in one bag -in the fryer -there you go -that's hungry horse for you ! Atmosphere was crap ! Won't bother again.

Went in for breakfast this morning with my partner, I ordered the steak and eggs medium rare and my partner ordered the mega breakfast. When the food came, I cut into the steak and it was raw. I put my finger in the centre and it was cold. So, the staff advised they were going to get a fresh plate for me. Then, whilst my partner was eating, we noticed a long curly black hair in his breakfast. (I’m blonde and he has mousy brown short hair). My partner went to the bar to show the staff the hair in his food and there wasn’t a single care from the staff at all. When he asked for the money back for our meals, he was given £5 short and offered a bottle from the fridge. We don’t drink so we took two j2os, still doesn’t make up for ruining our breakfast completely. Needless to say we will not be eating here ever again. We don’t expect gourmet from a gastro pub but we certainly expect hygiene and cooked food. Really poor experience.

Tamara is one of the most friendliest workers, always approachable, helping, and friendly! I find she’s easy to order with especially when it comes to taking items of a meal and adding extras, theirs no hesitation and always willing to help when needed

Nice place with fast service. The staff is incredibly friendly. I've started having breakfast here quite often. The breakfasts are delightful, with options to suit any taste. The coffee is also delicious!
