What a shame this is tucked away in the middle of an industrial estate. Lovely hotel, we went here after a cremation and the room we were in was really nice. The food was excellent and staff pleasant. I should imagine it's expensive.

We have been to the Hadley Park House Hotel many times but this occasion was a real disappointment. We were there for a birthday lunch with friends and it just wasn’t up to scratch. The food was very mediocre and the menu for a Sunday lunch was frankly ‘odd’. The chicken terrine starter was cold and hard and the accompanying toast was like day old toast, not crisp but tough and rubbery. If the tempura cauliflower had seen any tempura batter I would be astonished. It was cold and just fried cauliflower. Not pleasant. The chicken was okay but lacked flavour and the vegetables were completely over cooked. For ice cream there was a choice of vanilla, strawberry or chocolate- not very inspiring and not particularly nice ice cream either! So all in all it was a disappointment. Not sure at all what the chef was thinking or doing but they maybe need to go back to the drawing board and start again!

I went here with two friends for an afternoon tea to celebrate a special occasion. When I booked I explained that it was a 60th birthday celebration and asked if they had a table by a window with a lovely view and was told that they could do that. When we arrived we were shown to a table which overlooked the drive and a large, dark hedge, which was disappointing. The food was largely disappointing, too: the sandwiches were made with cheap sliced bread and the fillings were ordinary. I certainly didn't expect grated cheese and pickle. The onion tartlets were good but the sausage rolls were too large, filled with cheap sausagemeat and looked as if they had been bought in a supermarket (or Greggs) and reheated before being cut in half. They were neither dainty nor elegant. The cakes were OK, although I am not convinced they were all made on the premises, but the scones were outstanding, the lightest I have eaten for a long time and delicious. However, the "jam" wasn't jam, it was a coulis and far too runny to stay on the scone. Very odd and I don't know how they expected us to eat it. The service was neglible. Food was brought to our table with initial drinks but after that the staff left us alone and when we ran out of tea, we had to go out to Reception to ask for more. As two of us have mobility difficulties, this was awkward and painful. There was no acknowledgement that we were celebrating a special occasion. Another table in the room was occupied and when those people left they asked us if we wanted the music back on because, apparently, they had turned it off before we arrived because they didn't like it. We were unaware of this and asked them to turn it on before they left but they couldn't work out how to do that. This was another disappointment. £20 is a lot to pay for afternoon tea locally and we seem to have been charged for the hotel's reputation rather than the food and service, which was poor value for money. A magnificent scone can't change that.

We booked in for afternoon tea after my daughter gifted me a voucher from their website for Mother’s Day. We visited on a very hot Sunday afternoon. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who took us through to the conservatory area where soft modern music was playing, sat us down at a table laid with pretty china plates and tea cups and took our drink preferences (tea or coffee). Drinks arrived within a few minutes together with a jug of iced water. Service was very relaxed but professional. They were very busy hosting parties, but our food was served about 35 mins after arrival. I’m sure it would be quicker if they hadn’t had parties to cater for. The savoury offerings were: finger sandwiches (egg mayo, ham tomato & mustard, tuna mayo and cheese and pickle). warm sausage rolls and warm tartlets. The sweet ones: warm scones with ham & cream, lemon tartlets and chocolate brownies. Everything was really tasty and plentiful. Extra tea or coffee could be had if desired but we got three delicious cups each from our teapot so needed no more. We had to take a doggy bag home with the cakes we couldn’t manage! All in all, it was lovely and I’d happily revisit. 1 star lost as the conservatory was uncomfortably warm despite air conditioning being on. Not really their fault as it was scorching out, but it made for a slightly less enjoyable stay. It would also be nice if you could choose your fillings? Just a suggestion to “up the game” and become the go to place for afternoon tea?

The staff are caring, enthusiastic, passionate and attentive, but...... rooms are tired, need of attention and the bar needs more choice. The real down side for me is the restaurant. The menu promises 'triple cooled chips' which are frozen chips once cooked. The 'superfood salad' talks about quinoa and pomegranate, where as the pomegranate was absent and the quinoa hardly made an appearance. We asked what deserts are home made, it was met with an embarrassed shrug of the shoulders. The word 'microwave' was mentioned a lot. My colleague had pavlova, it looked depressing. Sorry, Hadley Park, you've missed the mark.

We visited on a sunny June afternoon for our anniversary - there was a wedding on in the main hall which did concern us slightly as we worried we might be a little neglected in favour of service for the wedding but our fears were unfounded and things actually worked in our favour - we got our own private room and the service was pleasant and consistent throughout. The only slight issue was that they are unable to alter the volume mix for music between the different rooms, so we did get blasted with super loud Ed Sheeran (sigh) at a couple of points when they cranked it up during the ceremony next door. The afternoon tea itself though was really good - my wife went for the traditional version whilst I opted for the afternoon cheese. Her plate was abundant with goodies - a plate of sandwiches, another plate of savoury goodies, a huge scone with generous portions of jam and cream and four different sweet treats...the lemon drizzle and the passion fruit tart were particular favourites. I was delighted with my choice - I had a huge sausage roll with pear and stilton, a Wrekin white arancini ball and a couple of delicious mozzarella and tomato bruschetta as well as a cheese scone with onion chutney, a strawberry cheesecake and carrot cake shortbread with mascarpone - delicious. Really enjoyable afternoon and we would gladly visit again.

Booked a two day package which included breakfast and dinner, and was very pleased with the hotel, room and staff, however the evening meal was atrocious.Due to the inclement weather, when we first arrived the four of us decided to have drinks and a round of sandwiches. For the price I was expecting thick handcut farmhouse/ rustic style bread but we had just ordinary sliced bread with uninspiring fillings. The evening meal however was shocking, three of us had the Thai fish cakes starter which were supposed be with mango and chilli. Was expecting them to be either deep fried or with breadcrumbs, however they were neither but had a peculiar taste and there was no chilli. As for the mains there was a Salmon dish described by my friend as tasteless and bland, another had a sirloin steak which we all sampled and agreed it was tender but lacking any flavour. My partner had the burger which she thought was tasteless and had a strange texture. Finally I has the Teryaki chicken burger which was devoid of any teryaki flavour. To finish the so called triple cooked chips were pale, insipid and bland.Everything seems to lack seasoning and flavour. On the plus side breakfast was fine and they did reduce the invoice to recognise the above, however it’s a shame that the following night rather than risk another disappointment we are at a nearby pub and had an excellent meal

We arrived for afternoon tea after booking a private room in advance (wanted privacy with a newborn baby and close friends) to find that were put in the main room along with a big party and few other smaller parties also having afternoon tea. After waiting 20 minutes we asked for tea or coffee to be brought to the table after no drinks were brought. Afternoon tea came with just one stand to feed four people. There were one plate of sandwiches, a cake each (carrot cake, chocolate torte, and fruit ball thing) a plate with a warm sausage roll and quiche each then final plate of plain scones one each. The sandwiches were tasty but very small and not enough of them to feed all four of us. Previous when came we had two of these to feed five of us! The sausage rolls and quiche were very tasty. The cakes were ok but yet again very small. The scones we sent back as the were stale. We were told they were fresh but they could warm them up if we wanted, after waiting another 20 minutes for fresh batch these were better but were red hot. Didn’t taste great with jam and clotted cream. The table had no napkins set up and there seemed to be no care given or thought given to our reservation. At no point were we told there were offers on the afternoon tea on groupon which yet again I thought was bad customer service as we were returning customers for afternoon tea. We sent a complaint to the hotel expressing our disappointment with the service and food we had received, we had no reply! We sent another email asking for a reply to which we are still waiting for a reply too! We visited in October and had a great afternoon tea in the private room and booked again January but after such dissatisfaction this time we have decided to cancel our booking in March due to how dissatisfied we were and they not even addressing the complaint this time. Not very happy with the customer service, food we were served and think it’s disgusting when you complain that you don’t even get a reply to a complaint.

On arriving hotel very quiet receptionist didn't lift her head so carried on finding my friends in a very boring drab room to the right. The Waitress greeted me and was very pleasant through out making sure our tea pots were never empty.Food, sandwiches were difficult to say what was what, bland to say the least! Cakes, mini mince pies [did they not think perhaps we'd had enough over Christmas] Mini treacle tarts {pastry dry] some sponge things that didn't get eaten[very brown] scones very dry! All very poor considering this cost us nearly £60! We did say to the waitress how disappointed we were but did she pass it on to the chef? All in all if I hadn't been meeting my friends the afternoon would have been a disaster!! Come on Hadley Park you can do better than this......I think? Wish I'd taken photos

I visited here with two friends for afternoon tea we had a lovely time and overall the afternoon tea was delicious. We got 4 sandwich triangles each which were nice, an onion tart which was surprisingly sweet but very nice and some lovely sausage rolls as part of our savouries. We then got scones, a little lemony cake, a macaroon and a dessert in a little cup which tasted a bit like cheese cake, it had chunks of chocolate brownie and some red fruits on top. The scone was ok but not amazing as was the cake. The cheese cake like dessert was really very average it looked like it had been sitting out for ages and the strawberries In top looked old and mushy, I left mine on the side as it looked very unappealing. The only other down side was the service. Which although friendly was almost non existent. My table finished our tea and we waited about 20 min for a member of staff to come into the room and no one did. We went out looking and after about 5 minutes found someone who did eventually bring some more. The tea is lovely overall and we spent 2 hours chatting away but t needs a little attention to detail to elevate it into something really special

I recently visited Hadley Park for afternoon tea for my friends 30th birthday celebration. When we arrived, we were put in a small lounge all to ourselves there was no music playing, so we asked for some. We had 2 glasses of sparkling wine as part of our groupon deal but they didn't arrive untill we had our cakes and we had to ask for them. There was no selection of tea or coffee as you would usually get at afternoon tea. When the sandwiches came the waitress didn't know what was in them after we asked her. The bread was very dry and not enjoyable. The cakes and scones arrived, the waitress again didn't know what they were, when we asked her all we got was "some sort of Eton mess". It felt as if we were just left alone, not cared about, there was no checkbacks throughout the whole experience. I was very disappointed as I had bought this as a groupon for my friends birthday. When we left the room, there was a few staff around but nobody said "thankyou" or "have a nice day".

Thought I'll have to try this 1 AA rosette restaurant within the hotel !! As I sat down in the bar/restaurant and was given the menu every dish looked promising!! So I decided it was worth me trying out 2 starters 1 main & 2 desserts....As I sat down I was given the usual complementary bread and butter.First starter was Scallops + king prawns + spiced broth + samphire + spring onions & chilli!! Scallops cooked to perfection and perfect, prawns were nice and juicy the spices work well, the only problem I had with this was that it needed a spoon to scoop up all that lovely Broth, because I ended up drinking the broth out of the jug !! I did pass this comment on too them Second starter Duck confit cake + duck liver parfait + brioche crumb + Black cherry chutney!! Nice crispy duck cake, with a good made liver parfait that was lovely and smooth with the sweetness from the cherry it will worked well Next up was the main!! Lamb loin + hotpot + red cabbage + carrot + red currant jus.Loin cooked right and pink and melted in the mouth ☺ the hotpot really delicious and nice & flavoursome with a great bunch of herbs in the mouth .First dessert was Iced BlackBerry parfait + apple sponge + honeycomb yoghurt !! I've made this type of dessert at home and was eagerly awaiting to see this version! And it wasn't a disappointment!! Lovely smooth parfait, good made honeycomb and cracking apple sponge !!!Second dessert was Dark chocolate marquise + sour cherry sorbet + chocolate soil + orange marshmallow!! This dessert was a cracking one !! With the richness of the marquise and the sharpness of the sorbet and that the gooey chewy marshmallow it was pudding heaven So I was a little happy right now with what I had eaten I decided to order there macaroons, I was told they was made here !! The macaroons was a little on the crunchy side they should of been crunchy on the outside soft in the middle!! That apart every other dish that come out was Worthing of a 2 AA rosette award !!Nice friendly staff good atmosphere and worthy coming back in the future....

I went to this hotel's restaurant on a Sunday to avoid eating at the Holiday Inn in Telford. There were two other diners beside me so it is not possible to comment on atmosphere. However, the staff were excellent, knowledgeable and efficient. My first course was based on Beetroot, several different types and a variety of textures. I was impressed with the inventiveness of the chef. For a main I chose rack of lamb. This turned out to be exceptional, a generous serving of lamb with the usual accompaniments but, with the addition of a smoky aubergine pate that lifted the dish far above the average. An inspired addition I thought.Wines by the glass were good and not expensive and they know how to make good espresso. Altogether an enjoyable evening and I shall be returning there when next I visit Telford.

All of our party were pleased with the quality and quantity of the first two courses which were very nicely plated and looked appealing. Again a plus point on a busy day. No choice of tea just standard tea or coffee however we did ask for green tea and this was available. Good selection of sandwiches followed by small cakes and a glass jar each of Eton mess. Scones a little dry however the Eton mess made up for this and was delicious. Afternoon tea whilst not offering the selections of teas and the petite bite size patisserie normally on offer did offer ample food to a good standard and very good value for money. I was looking for a way to celebrate a 60th Birthday for someone special (our mom) who does not like eating out and does not like fuss. So I looked for a way to celebrate in such a way that didn't require fuss but could cater for a dozen people whilst delivering some class....... Mission accomplished! .......The service was good, the tea was delicious (quintessentially English requirement of course), everyone enjoyed the finger sandwiches and desserts and most importantly my mom thanked me for a lovely celebration. Job done ☺

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to an Afternoon Tea here and all I can say id that our experience was fabulous. The Tea itself was amazing, fresh and the cakes simply divine. Beautiful surroundings and excellent staff made our visit one to remember. I would highly recommend this venue.

We were among a party of 60 for what proved to be a memorable evening. We had all pre-ordered a 3 course meal from menu with 3 choices per course. The food was of the highest standard, every course delivered to table, tasted as though they had been freshly cooked for each individual. The ambiance in the function room, with it's own bar was very good. The staff, smartly turned out, very attentive.

Situated very centrally for exploring local area. A lovely old coach house in need of a little tlc but nothing to spoil your stay. Room was extremely spacious and well presented with everything you required. We ate in the restaurant and food was excellent - well presented, tasty and thoroughly enjoyable. Breakfast also of the same quality Staff could not of been better, friendly welcoming attentive nothing was too much trouble - excellent.Only slight criticism and its nothing to be honest that they can do anything about is the surrounding area has now been very un sympathetically developed and the hotel now sits in what can only be described as an industrial estate, which is a shame as its a lovely old building.

This is the first time my wife and I have visited the Hadley Park and will most definitely not be the last. Beautiful old Georgian house full of character with very pleasant grounds, we had a room to ourselves, very intimate, although this may be a one off, however the service was first rate, the food delicious and the staff very attentive, would thoroughly recommend it.

We only go here on special occasions, and yesterday was my wifes birthday. We were greeted by a pleasant bar-man and had a drink whilst we looked at the menu. We both decided on the Wild sea-bass with samphire. baby leeks, asparagus and crushed new potatoes. The fish was cooked to perfection, with that difficult to get crisp. It was my first taste of samphire but i found it a bit too salty. For sweet my wife had the Lemon cheese cake and i had the Rhubard roularde ( see photos) which we both enjoyed. The restaurant is in the lovely conservatory with mood music playing in the back ground.A very enjoyable evening and we will be returning soon as they have theme nights throughout the year.

Never been to this establishment before. Saw a deal on Travelzoo and thought why not give it a try. Have been to other high end establishments with Travelzoo in the local area before and were astonished to be treated like second class citizens when they realised it was through Travelzoo. This can not be said for Hadley Park, the staff were attentive from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The food was beautifully presented and plenty of it. I only wish I had room for desert! Well done to all and I look forward to our next dining experience.

Over the past several years I have stayed here many times. I prefer room #2, its large and very traditional for an English manor house. On one occasion, I fell ill with the flu and the staff was so friendly. They offered to bring food and tea service to my room, they arranged for laundry service, and checked in on me throughout the day. Breakfast service can be slow, but dinner is always amazing. Beef and lamb cooked perfectly. Nice wine selection. Reservations strongly recommended for weekend dining.

Went for a family meal recently on a Friday evening in the main restuarant, although there was a wedding/party in the function room there was not any disruption. The menu was interesting with varied starters and mains which was away from the usual . The quality of the food could not be faulted, its also good value for money, the scotch egg starter and rib eye steak were top notch....

Lovely afternoon tea, little club sandwiches, lemon tart, cream scone and black cherry eaton mess. The food was very good, we could not eat it all. There are very few good places to have afternoon tea and this was wonderful. The staff are lovely and can't do enough for you. We ate outside as the sun was out but the afternoon tea room is very nice. I would recommend this highly and plan to go back soon.

Last Saturday evening was the annual Fawlty Towers dinner, when professional actors imitate Basil, Sybil and Manuel and entertain you throughout the meal. The dining room was full and for £39.50 we had a three course meal and coffee. The food was good and the actors were brilliant and it was really good fun. I thoroughly recommend it and look forward to booking next year for the Del Boy and Rodney show which I hope is just as good.

I dined in Dorrells restaurant with a group of 11 colleagues recently and was very impressed with the menu and hospitality. The food was delicious and creatively presented, my Gnocchi starter and Sea bream main course were expertly cooked, the content and flavours of both dishes were of a high quality. For a large table it proved the kitchen was highly organised as the food was served exactly as ordered with no delays. Portions are generous but I think we all managed desserts and glad we did, they were beautiful, I wish I could have bottled the toffee sauce that came with the sticky toffee bread and butter pudding!

I've been here on several occasions, including a wedding reception and I've always been impressed with the service and the quality of the food. This latest visit was a works Xmas do. It's quite a rare thing that a restaurant is so consistent, and you can see this from the reviews on here; not many low ratings. The only criticism I've heard, and this was from the bride and groom of aforementioned wedding, was that the atmosphere in the new dining area is not as good as the older part of the hotel.

We have chosen to dine at Hadley park for the last two years for our anniversary meal. It's quiet with a more intimate feel, the staff are friendly and attentive. We enjoy the festive three course menu and feel it's good value for money around £25 for the 3 courses and coffee. The only problem we did encounter on this occasion was the milk jug provided with our coffees contained old peppercorn sauce, that had not been washed properly. As it was a special meal for us we didn't want the embarrassment of asking for a replacement and just opted for the bill. I'm not sure we will return again as it's lacking somewhat in that personal service feel but would recommend to single business guests looking for a well cooked meal. This seems the hotels main clientele.

Went midweek to have lunch with my Brother, my sister in law and another good friend. The reason why we choose the Hadley was because of the consistency of the food and the service. Once again it didn't disappoint. We had the 2 course lunch menu which had plenty of choice and is very reasonably priced. The service is excellent and the staff are always very welcoming and polite. It is always a pleasure to go there and although it is quite a distance to travel there from home, it is always well worth it. Looking forward to the next time.

My wife and I were married here in September and the day could not have gone any better from start to finish.Planning and organisation was spot on and the amount of people who said they had a fantastic day really was overwhelming. The food was fantastic, not one person has said they didn't enjoy the food that day (and I know some are hard to please)... The breakfast next morning was spot on too, you can tell the local produce was freshly cooked. The rooms are fantastic also, it was the second time we'd stayed there as we stayed over for another wedding previously (again spot on) The beds are so comfortable, I didn't want to leave mine.We are so impressed, we're going back in December for our annual Christmas party, which we usually hold elsewhere. I'm sure it'll live up to expectation! If you're looking to get married anytime soon, do not overlook this place... Trust me You will not be disappointed!Fantastic job done by all, friendly staff, nice welcoming and hard working manager and brilliant wedding planner... Keep up the good work all!

I have used the Hadley Park for many years , I have spent Christmas day there , had birthday parties and eaten dinner there dozens of times then a few years ago I had some poor meals and stopped going. So when I had to arrange a venue for a small party of local business men I looked on trip advisor and the reviews where very good. So I booked a table , the Hotel could not have been more obliging and on arrival we were catered for very well , However the food was not to every ones taste , starters were just about OK. 3 scallops slightly over cooked on a large plate with swirls of sauce , Beefburger that had some strange taste of curry and chilly and cheesecake that was of a strange consistency and taste (not a difficult menu to get right) , most of the food returned to the kitchen uneaten which is a shame. The two people who had the steak said their meal was fine (shame they didnt bring the mustard until they had nearly finished). All in all not a success which is a shame Hadley Park is a very good venue . Perhaps the chef was having a bad day or it was to busy and he couldn't cope ?

Ate on the 14 Sept for sunday lunch to celebrate a family birthday 3rd visit this yearAs there were two christenings on we ate in a small room at the rear of the bar, it was very intimate and ideal for private dining.Lunch was even better if that is possible on the last two previous occasions easter and fathers day..Everything here is top notch from the linen, decor to the service and not forgetting the food. I would rate it from my experience as the best in Shropshire. It is a popular hotel for weddings etc but because it is so good so summer season will see a lot of these events.no doubt will be back soon and am def going to book the guinea pig dining exp , have to mention the older waitress was a delight .

Evening meal at a weekend... sadly the same night as a large wedding party had the place booked out, so restaurant diners were relegated to a smaller room - but it was still very pleasant and welcoming, and the staff very helpful. The food was really, really good - and very moreish! - although maybe it just needs to offer a little je ne sais quoi to justify that extra pound cost sometimes. It's so close... but it does offer a menu of seriously good, well prepared and well cooked food that I'm looking forward to sampling again soon, having said all that. You won't regret dropping in for a meal, but wear a pair of trousers with an elasticated waistband ;-)

Popped in without booking, immediately impressed by everything overall! Well thought out events planned as far as April next year and lovely printed brochures - all really professional from start to finish. If I were ever be silly enough to marry again, I would definitely consider this venue. Our lunch was lovely, not loads of choice during the day, but you know what you are going to get is going to be good. I had a pie - very tasty, plenty of meat, lovely pastry, not wow but really really good. Partner loved his burger - really unusual flavours and superb presentation. The wine was very good quality at sensible prices for such a place, was very impressed. Service friendly and efficient, my only criticism - and only because it's one of my personal pet annoyances, was that if it is quiet, the clip clop of heels on the wooden floors is a bit distracting especially when you eat in the bar as obviously they're walking past constantly. I would make the staff wear rubber soles. I'm sure during the evening it's not noticeable, but it is during the day. That said, we chose to sit in the bar, so when we go again we will sit in the restaurant. This is obviously a well run venue, with good staff and a superb kitchen and we will definitely go again and try their evening menu.
