The Sunday roast was fantastic, as well as great value for money. Huge potion with a variety of vegetables. Service was spot on; super friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend! 👏👏👏

Omg! The most awful evening ever! The atmosphere was terrible to start and no one in the restaurant even though in was early sat evening, that should have set off alarm bells! We ordered the pie, it came stone cold including the jug of gravy so sent it back, they actually asked if we wanted a fresh meal?? After another half hour we were served a meal that had been microwaved to death and couldn’t even put the knife through the pastry! We were so cold in the restaurant as kids kept runnng past through all the doors from the bar into the outside back to the restaurant while the parents were in the bar, it was so noisy! DO NOT go for a meal here! The young lad had no idea and kept getting a girl out of the bar to deal with the complaints, who was more interested in joining on the bar, we ended up with no food and went home, fuming!!

We went here, on Sunday 23 June this year, after the other place we went to, said they had run out of food. Made very welcome by the lovely young lady serving. Food was fantastic, service impeccable, place really clean and tidy. We will be there again for a meal.

Underwhelming food and service Three of us went for the Turkish menu, the starter’s were small, little to no garnish, the dressing was non existent. My food was not what I ordered , had to wait, again meat was ok, rice not. One guest had a burger, I was disappointed to see this as on my last visit I had a burger, again garnish terrible. Two had dessert my sorbet was like a slush puppy consistency. Staff, pushy. Music well was good, but too loud, had to ask twice for it to be lowered Finally, I was not when I seen the chef at end of evening his uniform was disgusting, dirty. We visited about two months ago and food and service was excellent, this is the reason we rebooked with friends, extremely disappointed, we both asked ourselves on leaving would we return NO.

Arrived and the table was ready for us, got us drinks straight away. We chose chicken - they said because everything is cooked fresh there maybe a little wait if 40 mins - and there was but it went fast as we were chatting - the food was top rate I’ll let the photo speak for itself it was Fabulas - a gem of an old pub friendly staff I would absolutely totally recommend.!!

We went here on Saturday early evening before going to the Shropshire Astronomy Society meeting at the village hall. We had the warmest of welcomes and were delighted with both the food and the service. Excellent value for money, we will certainly make this our regular venue each month.

Lovely meal after a scenic drive. Great fresh vegetables, amazing homemade chips. I had the belly pork and my friend had pie of the day. The burgers looked amazing on the other table!!

We visited for Mother’s Day lunch having decided to give the Bull another chance, after a previous visit with really slow service - nearly 3 hours for a once course evening meal. Firstly the positive, food was excellent! Lovely food and the beef was amazing!! Disappointingly, whilst you can appreciate it was a busy service there was clearly not enough staff. The reason for this was either staff sickness, which should be relayed to guests by way of at least sharing service might be a little lower than usual. Or they are just understaffed, which the owners really need to address because, as mentioned earlier this isn’t our first experience, or others reading reviews. One person behind the bar is clearly not enough. Part way through the meal a member of the kitchen staff came out, took his apron off and started tending to tables. Whilst this is excellent team work, it appears a running theme of just not being enough staff. The staff coped in what was clearly a stressful service so well done to them, sadly even though the food is good, we won’t be returning.

Such a nice friendly pub! We arrived at short notice with three dogs and the locals and staff were very friendly. Food was excellent and so was the beer. Can't wait to come back!

Upon arrival at 7pm we had to wait 20 minutes to get our drinks when we went to order our food a lot of the items on the menu were not available, so we had to pick something that was not our prefferd choice. When the soup of the day arrived, which we had to have as the first choice was not available, we had to ask what flavour is was as we could not taste the flavour, apparently you can have green mushroom soup. When the main course arrived one person was served a cheese berger when we asked for a berger with no cheese, it was also uncooked in the middle , the waiter took it away and said they do fresh one but that didn't happen we had the same served again complete with cheese so that person ate the fries and left the berger. One person had chicken which was a second choice and it was very salty half it was not eaten. The two steaks we were served were chewy to say the least. The potato wedges we were all served were that over cooked you were unable to eat them. We didn't want to chance a sweet as we had enough by then. After complaining to the manager about how disappointed we were she reduced the bill by half, so says something. I will give them one star rating because the waiter bless her was doing her best.

The food was great, home made pie the best i have ever eaten, compliments to the new Chef, as a local we hope he stays the long haul and really puts this amazing little local pub back on the map. Sunday lunches are also amazing but honestly it was a fantastic meal. Well presented and excellent quality food and cooking. Will be going back soon.

Very Poor Experience With Little Recognition From Management Despite being a table of 12 and having to pre order, it took 2 hours for starters to arrive. Puddings weren’t what was ordered. Half the tables food came and the rest came when others had finished. All due to no plates!!! Even tables of 4 were waiting hours. Food was good but would I say worth the wait? Absolutely not. Especially with kids. What was meant to be a supposedly Sunday lunch turned into Sunday Dinner. The young bar staff were great but felt very sorry for them. The manager could barely look us in the eye but did give discount. Still no forthcoming explanation even though they knew food would be delayed. Toilets blocked too so pretty smelly. Real shame the place has gone down hill so quickly

Called in last minute for a Sunday lunch. There weren't many people in and we didn't order starters but still waited half an hour for food. Staff were very friendly. I did hear one member say he doesn't usually work there, he was standing in, but we've been there 3 times in the last year and have heard that said on all occasions, so not sure what's going on. We both chose the shoulder of lamb that we were told would be 'falling off the bone' it was so tender, but it wasn't. It wasn't tough but was very dark and definitely over cooked. It came with a small shaped patty of mash, which was quite dry, green beans and 2 pieces of tender stem broccoli. Not a lot of veg really, although I noticed other people who had different meats had roast potatoes and carrots too. It was totally covered in a very thick gravy, which I heard a staff member describe to another customer as a 'red wine jus' which it definitely wasn't. I don't know why the gravy was smothered all over the meal instead of in a jug as not everyone wants gravy and certainly not that much. I also heard a man at a nearby table suggest to his wife that she took home the beef she'd left to which she replied that the cat wouldn't eat it as it was too tough! We were a little disappointed really as we'd had a lovely meal there off the bar menu last summer. We actually often have a lamb shank in red wine from Aldi at home and I'm sorry to say that that has a lot more flavour and is way more tender. We'll not be rushing back. It seems from talking to other people that have been in the last year that the food there is a bit hit and miss.

Went for a meal with about 11 friends, food was mediocre, I was made aware that my festive burger I had pre ordered was vegan, don't know why this was festive, and had to get them to put a beef patty in it! After the meal we all asked for coffee but got told the machine was turned off and they can't make us any, then they didn't have any port or Tia Maria, so while we finished our drinks and carried on chatting they started mopping the floor directly behind our chairs filling our noses with the smell of bleach, everyone left very disappointed, won't be returning or recommending.

Where do I start. It was our first visit. The welcome was very warm and welcoming the young man showed us to our table,got our drinks and took our order without writing anything down. The room was warm and comfortable. Our starters were just lovely and the mains were amazing my steak was cooked to perfection and my husband loved his pork chop. All the staff just made our visit just wonderful. It was our 1st visit but definitely not our last one. Can’t praise this country pub enough. 1st class food

Called in on Friday evening to book a table for Sunday lunch. The bar was very busy and full of locals enjoying an evening drink. Two real ales on draught plus kegs and cider. Really enjoyed the evening. Sunday lunch was very good and great value, just £19 for two courses. I had the roast pork and my wife had the roast chicken, both were well cooked and the chicken in particular was too much food for her to finish. The staff were great, really friendly, Ryan and Callum worked very hard as the bar and the restaurant were busy. All in a great weekend. Looking forward to the festive menu starting in December.

We went for Sunday lunch. Would give 5* for the food it was amazing. Unfortunately we had to wait an hour for it without any explanation or update as to how long we would have to wait. If there's a delay you really need to let your diners know.

Superb food and service. Staff are very attentive, warm, friendly and professional. Food was well presented and tasty. Highly recommend this little jewel in the countryside.

Food took a long time and wasn't anything special (though not cheap). Music was played on a 20 minute loop so Harry styles was getting annoying by the end.

Best Sunday lunch we've had. We couldn't stop saying how great it was all the way through! 2 courses for £19, three for £23. Fantastic price for a fantastic meal. We had pork belly and soup to start, beef and pork Sunday lunch with pigs in blankets and Cauliflower cheese (yes, we had everything!) And a chocolate brownie to share for pudding. Every course was bang on. The interior has been updated and looks lovely (nicer than the pics on here) Staff were polite and friendly, checking in on us throughout the meal Slightly uncomfortable wooden seats but they gave us a great big table for the two of us - good job as we needed them for all the sides! First time of visiting The Bulls Head, here on holiday with my brother and sister-in-law who live locally. From stepping into the place to the point of leaving the whole experience was amazing. Nothing was to much trouble, management, staff and even the chef were very attentive but not over bearing. They worked great as a team in a relaxed way, showing great people skills to customers with a friendly banter. Food was superb, great presentation and could not be faulted. Only negative........ they ran out of cheesecake. Would highly recommend, very affordable and a place to build priceless memories.

Was not happy with our meal, explained why at the time with no apology given. No offer to rectify the issues at the time either. One of the staff reached across my wifes plate to get her glass, which was not even finished. Staff have very little idea of customer service as we were approached throughout our time there so many times, asking if we were ok. Way to intrusive and over the top. Would not recommend.

Had a lovely vist to the Bulls Head, we had the 3 three courses, with the Sunday luches, food was lovely couldn't fault it. The only thing which could be changed is making sure the waiter gets the order right, he just went of memory can back to ask about our main order. The starters came out and he had mixed them up so we had to wait while it was rectified. Apart from that we couldn't fault it.

Attended today for my mother's birthday and was extremely disappointed. 2.5 hours spent and a lot of it waiting on food. When mentioning it to the "manager" the response was you have to wait a while for good food to be cooked. We have previously been and spent 1.5 hours to have a full 3 courses. The excuse to this was that there was a 30 people party. If you know you have a party booked in then you should be even more prepared or tell customers it's going to be a longer wait then usual.the mixed grill contained cranberry sausages which is normally plain sausage. This is not stated on the menu nor was it mentioned when ordering. The children's ice cream came out as coffee which they tried to say was salted caramel which it clearly wasn't upon tasting. The manager also made a comment to my mother in law for taking napkins from another table. In total we asked 3 times for the bill and 3 times for food orders to be taken. Had it not have been my mother 60th birthday meal we would have walked out. The manager clearly needs retraining in his management style as is completely inappropriate and unacceptable.

Nice run out in the country for dinner. Typical pub grub, nicely served. Not too busy, music was loud and a bit dancey for us! Liked the messy fries, nice twist! Went for Sunday lunch and got our table early. Drinks offered early but then arrived 15 minutes later. We were sat right by the bar 😆. Nice starters but then the main meal came out. The beef was 2 thick slabs and overcooked and I couldn't believe the vegetable accompaniments. I had one roast parsnip one carrot Batton and a tablespoon size of sweet potatoes and a large Yorkshire. Husband then waited 20 minutes for desert. It was disappointing as we had heard such great things but won't be returning.

Mixed bag… We booked here for Sunday lunch as we wanted a lighter and cheaper Sunday lunch alternative and on their website there were (and still are) roast dinner ciabattas with roast potatoes and pigs in blankets for £9. We would have gone somewhere else if we’d wanted a full Sunday roast but trusted their website would be correct. When we were given a menu on arrival we noticed it was different to the one on the website and had no roast dinner ciabattas. We questioned this and were told the menu had been changed over a month ago but no one had access to the website to update it?! (seems odd!) We asked if we could order from the old menu, our server asked the kitchen on our behalf and came back to us with a yes which we were very grateful for, and ordered two of the roast pork ciabattas. When it eventually arrived after around half an hour, the food was delicious…best roast potatoes we’ve had in a long time, very tasty stuffing and tender pork (although with a lot more fat that is ideal). We really enjoyed it. When the bill arrived we’d been charged £16 each for the sandwiches…a far cry from the £9 they were charging for them only a month or so ago and that they’re still advertising them at on their website. I know prices for everything are rising but to charge nearly double seemed excessive and no one had mentioned any difference in prices when we asked if we could order them. £16 was the price for a full roast dinner main course! I politely questioned this and was told yes it was wrong and a new bill was bought to us…the price for our sandwiches being £15 on the new bill, which is apparently the correct current price even though the roast dinner sandwiches aren’t on the menu anymore?! I wasn’t in the mood to continue questioning/arguing in a restaurant full of customers so we paid and left with a sour taste in our mouths. We were really looking forward to our lunch and although it was delicious, it was a total rip off for £15 when a whole roast dinner main course with all the trimmings is £16! I very strongly feel that when we asked if we could still order these roast dinner sandwiches, any price increase should have been mentioned at that point…very dishonest and misleading not to tell us! I also think they need to sort out the website so that it had the up to date menu on it..how can you make an informed decision about visiting somewhere to eat if you can’t access the current menu online? Won’t be visiting again.

I have been here quite a fair few times now. It never fails to deliver. The food is on another level. The service is amazing. Do you self a favour and try it.

The food was very good and well presented , but the young man serving us needs to be trained properly , service really let the place down young waiter new the chap on table next to us and kept stopping to chat , also if you are taking drink orders at tables you definitely need to know what beers you have or write it on a black board in view.

Went as a group to celebrate a friends birthday. I had the fillet steak. It was beautiful. So juicy and flavourful. Will definitely be going back for another one.

Over and hours wait for a simple half chicken and chips to be told everything is cooked fresh. To be served up watery chicken which has obviously been frozen, watery gravy and a hand full of chips. Skin on the chicken wasn’t even crisped up it was vile. Looked very beige and unseasoned. Seemed like the pub was being run kids. Didn’t see a full blown adult the whole time we were there. Looked like no1 over 25 was there

Dined in a party of four earlier today and we had different meals which were all excellent. Especially enjoyed the Vegan Sweet Potato Wedges & Couscous and the gluten options were really appreciated. Service could not be faulted and we will definitely return.

As a celiac I was a little disappointed because I had been told that their entire menu was gluten free and this was not the case. However, they were very good at accommodating in regard to my dietary needs. I am extra difficult because I am also intolerant to dairy and eggs. They took it in their stride and I was given a very tasty meal. The only reason I have not given it 5 stars is because I did not get any crackling with my pork because they had run out and I missed out on other items because of gluten.
