Truffles Cafe in Telford and Wrekin

We were recommended by one of our friends to try out Truffles Cafe, well this was one of the best decisions we have made. We were very impressed with the Winter Menu, I chose the Stew served with mash and Yorkshire Pudding, it was divine, tasty, warming and delicious, my wife had Bangers and mash, again it was incredible! Our kids had nuggets and chips, there wasn't a morsel left on the plates. We have eaten out at a lot of resturants, quite a few Michelin Star venues. I can honestly say I have never tasted better food anywhere! Thank you so much and we will see you again when we are back in the area!

Was really looking forward to a cooked breakfast in Truffles Cafe. Got there early and ordered a full English with brown toast. Sausages were good. Beans reheated, egg very runny, bacon burnt, 3 tinned plum tomatoes swimming in juice that went into everything else. Toast also burnt. Chief came into the cafe with a tee towel over his shoulder. Dogs are allowed inside which was fine until a dog barked for almost the entire time we were there. The waitress was stroking the dog and then handled food without washing her hands. Maybe we were just unlucky but felt that it wasn’t very hygienic.

Had a birthday lunch here with family last weekend & were delighted with the choice & quality of the food. The home made cakes & desserts that were on offer were highly tempting so we indulged & were not disappointed. Nick went above & beyond, we cannot thank him enough. Lovely little gem of a cafe in a beautiful location. Hoping to visit again in the near future

A busy cafe is always a good one so we were delighted to find a table for lunch on the first leg of our holiday. The staff serving were lovely and delivered us a fabulous lunch. My husband in particular had the quiche, it was the best he’s ever tasted. The chef came out once we had finished to make sure we were happy. Can’t recommend this place enough if you’re visiting Ironbridge.

Disgusting comments My friend and I had lunch here today. The lady who served us and the young man who served us were fantastic, very helpful very friendly. There was a couple sitting behind us and a senior male member of staff went to their table and made a most DISGUSTING CRUDE COMMENT… I’m no prude at all but he took filth to another level Food ok Management/ owner Absolutely appalling disgraceful

An excellent find when visiting Ironbridge and cannot recommend highly enough. The staff were all very friendly and the level of service was excellent all round. Nothing too much trouble. The quality of the food was exceptional from the breakfast to the home made cake. I will confess I popped in a few times and was never disappointed. Worth a try if you are in the area.

Saw their presence for a while on Facebook as new owners so went in for lunch today. We had the Nicks Special panini and steak pie with chips. Portions were very generous, and the food was really tasty. I also had a slice of Vicky Sponge and Choc fudge (yep, both for me but all in the name of quality control.....). Both were homemade and thoroughly delicious. The new owners have certainly made their mark. The food is great and there is plenty of choice, along with daily specials. Be aware of last breakfast orders at 11.45. I enjoyed my lunch and much more, the banter with the owner/chef. Great sense of humour and really welcoming.

We visited today on a few days away with the girls. The service was amazing, the Chef/Owner, even came out to us, his caramelised onion and cheese quiche was out of this world, the best I’ve ever had, we will definitely return

I would just like to say the first time of visiting today. There was a mix up with our order. Couldn't do enough for us. Very thoughtful. Couldn't of asked for better service. 100%. Food was fantastic. We will definitely be going back when we are over that way again. Thanks again to truffles cafe.

Amazing food! Stopped here for lunch, great choice of food - paninis, wraps, jacket potatoes, highly recommend the fish finger sandwich. Wonderful variety of cakes and desserts, especially the biscoff pancakes. Short walk from the Ironbridge so you can enjoy a wonderful view too. Would definitely return.

Myslef my sister and mom went for a breakfast at truffles cafe in late november, the food was lovely don’t get me wrong . However we waited for our food for an hour and a half , and i’m not exaggerating. It was busy in the cafe but was told to expect a 15-30 min wait on food which we was happy to wait for , but an hour and a half was a different story . We used to come atleast once a year before the new owners came and took it over , but since are last experience i doubt we will be going again unfortunately

Came to Truffles cafe for the 1st time, recommended by a friend. Walked in and greeted immediately by a friendly waitress. Breakfast was delivered in a timely manner. Breakfast was delicious, I would easily come again.

Lovely food, the staff are very welcoming and friendly too. You can tell they’re a happy team. We didn’t have cake or cake away this time but we did on our previous visit- very nice! Cafe is in a perfect spot in the town.

First visit since new owners took over & first impressions were positive. Now has table service which is friendly & efficient. Prices are comparable to rest of Ironbridge (so don't expect cheap eats despite the rustic look), but dog friendly will be a positive for many people . Food looked nice, but as they didn't have any vegan / dairy free cakes or even vegan spread , there's no website (only Facebook) & there's no allergen/ vegetarian/ vegan info on the menu, I can't actually comment on the food first hand as I didn't fancy dry toast! The menu says to ask for the allergen sheet, but how many people who don't have to do this anyway because of full blown allergies will bother when the place is busy. It's a shame, as simple changes such as vegan spread (eg Flora - not even anything exotic!) & veggie / vegan labelling on the menu would make it so much easier for customer & waiting staff (who in fairness did go & ask about options, though seemed flummoxed at being asked). If the Vegan / Gluten free tags on Tripadvisor are left from the previous owners, they should be removed. If they are indeed current, better in house info is required. On a plus note got a decent pot of tea & the loos are good including a disabled loo, though neither it nor the cafe itself are wheelchair accessible (not surprising given the ancient nature of Ironbridge generally, so this is a comment for info, not a criticism)

Previously didn't go in Truffles except in garden as have a dog and it rains a lot in Ironbridge!! - But heard new dog friendly policy and took my daughter to lunch - staff are super amazing, customer service is excellent, food wonderful very fresh and tasty - Dog - Rhubarb was very impressed as well as had a bottomless brunch of dog treats! Also went back again for hot chocolate take away very impressive . Sure you will do so well with your offer well done !

Wow. What else can I say. Me and my husband and 2 little boys went in for some lunch. I decided upon the pizza panini, it was absolutely gorgeous and full of flavour. It came with cheesy coleslaw and a salad and some crisps. Hubby had a sausage, bacon and egg sandwich, he is still going on about the sausages which he said were great! Both boys ate all their food, my 1 year old even ate all his food. Will def be going back to truffles again. The staff are so lovely x

I visited here with 11 other members of my family. What a gem of a place!!! The food was excellent with a wide variety that suited all, the hot chocolate and mulled wine were die for and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We went on Christmas Eve and have all decided to make it our tradition to go there. Thank you so much Truffles; you made a lot of people happy!

We booked Christmas Eve for 12 people and truffles did not disappoint, food was fantastic, service was outstanding, we as a family were so grateful that truffles could accommodate us. We look forward to returning, making it our Christmas tradition. Thank you all xx

The staff are incredibly nice and helpful even though it was really busy they still went above and beyond for everyone with a smile on their faces. The coffee was to die for. The food was lovely and was not waiting to be served for long at all the food came within 10 minutes of ordering! Lovely little cafe, looking forward to coming again soon!

Service was efficient and friendly but unfortunately the food was a let down. I ordered a Hearty Beef Stew, which tasted good but there was so little meath that it all fitted into a table spoon.... 70% liquid, 25% vegetables and 5% meat is not...

Seriously disappointing. We arrived at 5 past 12. Their menu introduces lunch at 12 and while it doesn’t say they stop breakfast at 12 they refused to serve even a simple bacon sandwich, despite serving breakfasts around us. And despite a bacon and chicken sandwich...

Had a superb lunch in the conservatory which now permits well behaved dogs. Staff were very friendly & efficient. Food was delicious. Very reasonably priced.

This is a great little place for a catch up with family or friends. I have been here a few times now at different times of the day and I would highly Recommend! It’s an added bonus if you can bag the sofa seats area...

Very friendly cafe with a good menu ,we had a cooked breakfast which was reasonably price ,plenty of seating ,would highly recommend.

Wonderful spot to stop and have lunch, we where lucky to get the sofa room so plenty of room to relax, the ladies where very attentive and friendly, we had the ploughman’s and no the the ham and cheese where excellent quality

Basic breakfast - not the worst not the best. Sausage was under cooked and tasted cheap. Found a better one up the road.

Having visited this cafe several occassions the last visit two weeks ago with our fully certificated cockerpoo patient assistance dog and sat near window.Today seeing only two tables occupied on opening door was met by a large individual immediately yelling No DOGS IN HERE we initially thought he was a bouncer his attitude was simply appalling.We told him we came here two weeks ago he just argued aggressively that we couldn't of done.No signage on front door saying no dogs only guide dogs and assistance.He did not give us a chance even to show certificate.Virtually all the other eateries welcome dogs.Stay clear of this one. If fact he bellowed out we can go in the yard at back.We looked on way back a youth was leaning on wall with a cigarette and a couple of empty beer cans on floor in the alley No thanks.The annoying thing is the cakes are nice.Feel sorry for the staff who are very friendly.Isnt it annoying when traders whine that business is poor and act like that.

Lovely family owned place. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, great prices. Would highly recommend for breakfast and hot drinks. We were able to take the dog in the garden out the back which was perfect and finished our little break away perfectly. Thanks

We wanted a lunch spot whilst in the gorge and found Truffles. Menu choices were very good and met both adult and child requirements. Reasonably priced. Food was very good - empty plates. Staff very friendly and service was good. General ambiance was pleasant.

Popped in this morning with a friend. Don't usually review places on TripAdvisor, but I had definitely the freshest Victoria Sandwich cake I've ever had out - came out of the oven a couple of hours before! It was totally delicious 😋

Visited this cafe for lunch after walking around Ironbridge. Service was quick and efficient. We all ordered sandwiches which came with crisps and salad. Portions were generous, and everything was freshly made. Good value at just over £30 for 6 of us.

We nearly walked past this place as its initial appearance is a bit dated, but so glad we tried it. Food was excellent quality, prices were cheap, staff were very friendly and the whole place was really clean. A real find, you won’t be disappointed.

We had a lovely coffee here last week when visiting Ironbridge. They were very hot on Covid security and cleaning which was lovely to see. The staff were very friendly and the food was good. When the roadworks are finished there will be a nice view over the Severn.We would definitely recommend this café and will visit again if we return to Ironbridge.

Upon arriving at Ironbridge to view the famous bridge, we were not expecting to find such a quaint and beautiful village. Lots to take in and we were so lucky to find this lovely place offering a varied menu whilst maintaining covid regulations. Sandwiches were freshly made and delicious. Didn't have enough room for cake - so we asked for a takeaway and thoroughly enjoyed it later. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.

What a find, lovely welcome for four of us plus a dog, we sat in an enclosed area in the garden feeling well distanced and very Covid safe. Staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful and the food and drink couldn't be faulted. Can highly recommend the coffees and hot chocolate and the home made tomato soup was perfect on an Autumn day!

Just had good and friendly service at Truffles Cafe in Ironbridge. We sat outside in a little courtyard.

My wife and I stopped off in Ironbridge on our way to Ludlow and went into Truffles The management have gone above and beyond to ensure customer safety during these strange times.We had a really nice breakfast and coffee. This place is well worth a visit.

The Truffles Café was a lovely lunch outing with friend, with a great special on Scone with Jam and Cream and Coffee coming to £3.90, was a big portion. The staff were very friendly, with lovely views of Ironbridge when enjoying our lunch and good safety measures on Covid we felt safe.

Staff made us feel like they were doing us a favour serving us. The management’s response to the other less than perfect reviews on here sum up the service you will get. Rude (verging on the aggressive) and unapologetic. And the food’s nothing good to write home about either.

After a morning of walking around and seeing the views . Stopped off here for lunch . Nice little cafe.free WiFi to. All goverment guidelines followed. The tomato and basil soup was delicious. Nice friendly atmosphere. And value for money. Especially has eat out to help out deal was on.

Stopped by for drinks while wandering around Ironbridge. The café was clean and spacious with a good system in place for social distancing. Drinks were good and provided promptly, kids enjoyed the milkshakes.

Went to Truffles today 29/08/20 great place well organised sanitise hands and leave contact details on entrance. Served by really friendly staff coffee strong and a lovely toasted tea cake. Will definitely be back.

Great little cafe, very clean and friendly overlooking the bridge and river Severn. Full English breakfast was great value, good quality and cooked just to my liking. Good efficient service. Take away food & drinks also available. We liked the window display. Definitely recommend this place and will be back next time we visit Ironbridge.

The staff were so astonishingly rude in this place it actually took my breathe away. If your going to spend your hard earnt cash anywhere in Ironbridge, avoid this rude place.

We arrived at truffles were met with a really friendly welcome. Spotlessly clean track and trace in place had a cream tea it was delicious a real treat. Melissa was an amazing waitress attentive and efficient and most of all very friendly

Went to this cafe today with my mum for a girls day and I have to say the way they asked you to give a name and a number as you went in was very good and to sanatize your hands was fab. They are very much doing everything to keep the customers and staff safe. Before we sat down we had our tables and menus cleaned in front of is and we sat down and the staff were right over to take our order and very polite and talkative. We got our drinks and food and had to take them off the tray ourselves for covid safety and we had a service check to make sure everything was ok. We finished our food and drink and asked to pay and the staff were very prompt in bringing over the card machine and we said thankyou and left the way we were directed. Overall very good covid regulations that get followed and great staff who are polite and friendly and great food and drink. Would definitely recommend to anyone I know and would tell anyone to go to this cafe.

We thought we would treat ourselves to a scone and a toasted sandwich here. The service was to the point of being rude, the scone was very basic and if it hadn’t been warmed through I am not sure I would have eaten it at all. The toasty was ok. A very disappointing part of our lovely day out at Ironbridge.

Slow and pretty rude service, very average cakes and they didn’t clean the menus. Mark and avoid if you want a nice cup of tea and cake!

We decided to pop in for some tea and cake following our lovely day out in Ironbridge. We found some of the staff to be quite unfriendly, verging on the point of rudeness and acting like we were more of a hindrance to them. We also saw that the laminated menus are being left on the tables and, from our own observations whilst in the in the cafe, were not wiped down in between customers. This in itself is quite alarming in current times. The cake was average at best. All in all, a disappointing trip and I wouldn’t recommend this establishment to others.

We came here for a quick breakfast and Truffles cafe didn’t disappoint. One of the few places that accepted dogs. Food came quickly and the waitresses were lovely.

Had a great lunch on a visit to Ironbridge. Good range of items on menu. Had an excellent baked potato and my wife enjoyed a ploughman's lunch.Service was prompt and friendly. We ate in the outdoor courtyard which was pleasant on a very hot day.

It's a nice cafe to visit, quick service and efficient with covid regulations. However, at £1.20 per single slice of 'farmhouse toast' (which wasn't thick and farmhouse-y, just ordinary brown bread), which is what you get if you order brown instead of white bread even though ordinary toast is supposed to be 60p a slice, you end up paying a fiver for a few slices of brown bread, which was disappointing.

So good to see this fabulous cafe open again after the floods and lock down. Popped in for a coffee and although things were very different with the new regulations the service and atmosphere were just as good as always. Friendly and helpful staff, always smiling and willing to go the extra mile. I'd like to say that the hospitality industry is a tough one at the moment. With the new rules many businesses are operating with limited capacity and it's extremely difficult to just keep going. I was shocked to witness a customer being extremely rude to one of the waitresses. If you're going to pop to the toilet and another table gets served while the waitress is waiting for you to come back this is NOT bad customer service. If you have to wait a few minutes for freshly brewed coffee this is NOT unreasonable. If you want to support a local business don't give a bad TripAdvisor review when it's completely unjustified. It's a shame businesses can't leave reviews for customers. Just a thought. Rant over.....give truffles a try people. You won't be disappointed. The food is gorgeous too!

Visited for the first time since reopening after lockdown. Staff were brilliant it must be so hard adjusting to all the government guidelines, it was very smooth. It was a joy to get a wonderful coffee looking forward to next visit.

We waited over 20 minutes before the waitress came to take our order (there were only 2 other tables occupied at the time). When we said that we had almost left, she became rude and abusive to me. She took our order and then went into the kitchen and obviously told the rest of the staff that I had complained because one by one they came and stood by the till and stared at me.Upon leaving the waitress decided to have another go at me, calling me a liar about the length of time we had waited and said we have to be patient 'in these times'. We only wanted a coffee but wished we hadn't bothered trying to help a local business.

Delicious lunch, we all had different things and they arrived at the same time. Great varied menu. Recommend the lasagne and the smoked haddock.

Me and my husband visited today for breakfast. We was met by a lovely young lady who was polite and seemed happy in her work. Our breakfast was the best we’ve tasted in a very long time. It was delicious . All the staff seemed very friendly. Will definitely visit again soon.

Good service, very generous portions the plough mans with black pudding was very filling. The cakes looked very inviting but unfortunately we didn’t have room for them!

It was a very cold winter's day and having walked from the car park along the river bank we were pleased to see the welcoming sight of Truffles. A warm welcome awaited us. We had an enjoyable lunch. We set off ready to face the winter weather again.

Visited for a late lunch on a rainy Saturday and there was no problem getting a table and service was quick. We ordered the breaded Brie and the bean casserole and both were hot and delicious

Stopped off for a walk around Ironbridge and after being turned away from the coffee shop further up the road as their minimum spend was £15 on a card we were glad to of come in here .The staff were all friendly and welcoming and the cakes on display were amazing we opted for the coffee and walnut and the salted caramel and made the right choice served with a hot latte good value at £11.50

When we first arrived in Ironbridge we wandered down the main street looking for a cafe and stumbled upon Truffles. It was quiet when we got there but soon got busy. Coffee was ok but their jacket potatoes are really yummy

Just popped into Truffles at Ironbridge for a ‘sandwich to go’. Lovely welcome and helpful staff made ordering food a pleasure indeed.

Always come for coffee and cake and a stroll around Ironbridge. This is our favourite coffee shop. Sometimes can be difficult to get a table, fair prices and great selection of cakes. Sometimes can be a bit messy with crumbs all over the floor, and tables could do with a deep clean, but I guess the table turnover is so constant it must be difficult to keep it spotless. Good selection of news papers if you like a read. as well. There is one further up the road that is exceptionally clean though, but the ambience is not as good inside as here, so I'll take crumbs over sterile anytime. X

We really enjoyed our visit to Ironbridge and had lunch in this former Co-op store which was extremely spacious and thoughtfully decorated. Friendly staff, hot cup of tea from great toasted cheese sandwiches full of oozing real cheese and an amazing variety of burger especially the Hawaiian which proved to be a very substantial meal.

Popped into this lovely little cafe on our visit to Ironbridge for tea and toast. The tea was very nice and hot and the toast was amazing, thick hand cut bread doorstep sliced toast....just the way I like it, the wholemeal bread I would say tasted homemade too...delicious. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I went to truffles in Ironbridge with young grandson .ordered sausage sandwiches and sausages on plate for grandson.Was busy expected a wait never had prob before .When good came was just sandwiches asked waitress about extra sausages Assume was owner came over saying extra sausages on sandwiches.i explained wanted for grandson on plate .He then rudely suggested I sorted them myself without a plate! I told him I was unimpressed and he mocked me saying oh dear she unimpressed!

Centrally located just down from the Ironbridge - the service was quick and friendly. A good range of items on the menu for all tastes. Varied seating inside with an open area at the rear. We have been a number of times and have not been disappointed. Recommend the Ploughman's Lunch. There is a good bookshelf (not sure if the books are for sale or swapping) but we found ourselves browsing them over lunch. Good with a baby (not sure if there are changing facilities) There may be other access points but the main entrance is up a big step. Well worth a visit.

Went into Truffles about 2:30 looking for a lunch, Ordered thre Sandwiches and a bowl of Chips. Excellent food with well filled Sandwiches with nice simple filings, Like cheese, Ham, Tuna etc. on crusty bread, Nice surroundings and friendly staff. Excellent range of drinks

We had a lovely lunch after our bike ride. The kids Ham sandwiches were amazing and daddy loved his coffee. We would visit again. By Lucy age 6.

In Ironbridge with a group of friends in urgent need of a proper breakfast and chanced upon Truffles. A full English at a very reasonable price and with a view of the mighty Ironbridge as well was a fine start to the day. There are other breakfast options available all served with a smile from the friendly staff. Do try it out when you are in this historic and delightful little town.
