My party of 27 were made very welcome, including 2 vegetarians and 3 gluten intolerant guests. All the food was hot and tasty and arrived within minutes of each other. A section was dedicated to us and due to the extreme warmth we were provided with the tower fan from the kitchen - goodness knows how the chef and kitchen assistants were coping! The staff were all very pleasant and eager to please. I was very glad we picked this venue and recommend it. Thank you to everyone that served us and kept us happy.

First time for us and we were very impressed with both the food and the service . Good that there was nice background music for ambience. We shall certainly return .

Me and my husband decided to go out for lunch ,wanted to stay local as my husband was working Saturday nite , we booked at hare an hounds , went along as not been in there for years , we were met by lovely bar staff, sat at our table . My husband had mix grill and I had mushroom Stilton burger, , well it was just lovely , hot fresh , we had a lovely time and wil defo return . 10 /10 guys , lovely little find on our door step .

My husband and I decided to eat out for a change. We were rather disappointed with our choice of venue. The "king prawn cocktail with sourdough bread" was not worth the £8.50 charged as the prawns were not king prawns, and the bread was a piece of normal thick sliced white supermarket bread cut in half. The sausage on my husbands mixed grill was cold, and the gravy on my meal was tasteless. Not a particularly good experience.

1 Shame the fires 🔥 weren't lit. As it was a chilli night. 2 Food took a long while on a quiet night while but was lovely when it came it was nice. 3 No healthy option. No healthy starters as everything is fried. 4 No alternative to chips on mains. Maybe you could offer a jacket potato's. Not everyone can eat FRIED food. Not much thought for dietary needs. Other than that lovely.

A very nice pair of burgers and chips. The place is clean, staff friendly, service fast, decor lovely. Good variety of food - even a vegan ice cream sundae for pudding! Don't be put off by the area, this is a really nice pub for lunch.

Oh my god went today for Sunday lunch was absolutely amazing ! We were a party of 19 and all had a Sunday roast, was cooked to perfection and the gravy is to die for !! Popped in for food last minute had a mixed grill and my wife had gammon, food and service was excellent and we ended up booking Christmas party meal for 16 !

Popped in for a family dinner and we were very pleased with our experience. Nice friendly service, delicious food and the restaurant was clean. We can recommend the chicken tikka which came served on a massive naan bread, fish and chips, lasagne and pizza. Definitely worth a visit.

Decided on a spur of the moment dinner out with the old fella for date night. We arrived around half six and it had a steady stream so we knew there could be a wait for the food. Both choose a steak medium rare, mine with Stilton and garlic sauce and the other with a peppercorn sauce. Bar chap took the order was so pleasant and chatty made you feel welcome. When the food arrived it looked amazing and the steak.had that fleshy plump bounce to it that showed was cooked perfect which on tasting it was. Mine was unfortunately cold inside. Now I don't expect a medium rare to be hot or it wouldn't be rare. The bar chap whipped it away and warmed.it a bit more and offered to replace the whole meal.but to be honest other than it needed another minute or two there was no point t wasting the rest of the delicious meal. I tucked in and the sauce are absolutely divine and when my steak came back he also brought complementary onion rings. Honestly there genuinely was no need as we truly had no other issues and enjoyed every bite. Not had steak this good since the bull at Roddington which sadly went down hill. We certainly will be returning again and want to try out there Sunday roast. I'd recommend this place to anyone and the staff are so lovely.

Really lovely spot for some lunch! Me and my sister went today and enjoyed it so much we are already planning on coming again soon and have even sent our family to go and enjoy it tonight too , which they have already reported back with a very positive experience. Dry, overcooked food. The smallest mixed grill and hunters chicken ever. Slow service at the bar. Wouldn’t recommend

I normally don't leave a review for food places but the food I had here was stunning ! Me and my partner visited here after a trip to a local zoo not expecting much but thought we would try . We wasn't from the area so wasn't sure what the food was like. Just the menu alone we was pleased with the food options. The food was amazing. The dish I had which was curry with naan bread was so flavoursome and every mouthfull I was commenting how gorgeous it was. We will be visiting here again if we are ever around this area.

Went in today as a family of 7 for a Sunday lunch as it was a family members birthday. Have eaten here 3/4 times before but never for Sunday lunch and oh my god we will all definitely be returning for Sunday lunch again!!! We all said as soon as we had finished that this was the best Sunday dinner we have had out! I had the beef and everyone else has the pork, the meat was cooked to perfection, the mash was creamy and the gravy was so die for! Will definitely be recommend to all family a friends! I went there for a meal on a Wednesday evening. I have recently moved to the area and the Hare and Hounds was recommended to me by a friend. All the staff were lovely, the drinks were delicious and the food was perfect. Their Covid policies were also spot on, I felt very comfortable knowing that everything was clean and that everyone was social distancing. I will certainly be back and I cannot wait to try more of the menu.

We ate there with the "eat out to help" scheme so it should have been bargainous and glad to get a deal.But...far from it.We had chips with all mealsThey were far too dark, the chip oil clearly needed changing, loads of black, carbonised pieces wrapped up in amongst the chips, and extremely greasy..we couldn't eat them.We had a lunchtime menu where they informed us that everything was reduced to £5 therefore that equated to half price.I think a toasted ciabatta sandwich with is probably NOT originally £10 in Telford... anywhere!We ordered soft drinks as we were driving....full price when the bill arrived... THIS IS NOT WHAT THE EAT OUT TO HELP DOES.I questioned this, normally I wouldn't have bothered but the very average if not poor meal needed some recompense..The waitress said she'd get the manager...I really didn't want to wait for this and the oncoming explanation that would have been just a pile of excuses It was poor..I would have had a far nicer meal at Subway for one third of the price.I was really excited as I thought I'd use it for an upcoming birthday event, but certainly won't go back.If they can't fry a few chips with not one other person in the restaurant they don't stand a chance with a busy room.A very sad visit

We were met at the door and told to use hand sanitizer before being shown to our tables, there was 9 of us so had to have 2 tables. Complete table service from start to Finnish by some very pleasant staff that couldn’t do enough for us. Food came to us really quick and was piping hot. All in all it was a very good evening and couldn’t fault anything.

Me and my partner both tried on different times and days to ring up and book table for my son's birthday, nobody picks up you leave message for them to ring you back but they don't. Plenty of pubs about to get really nice food from think I'll give this one a miss when they cannot be bothered to reply back that's no way to run a business

Went for a birthday lunch on the 31st July 2020,we were greeted as we stepped out of the car, all covid measures were taken by the staff,we had not been to the hare and hounds for over 12 years, the change is fantastic, very clean and modern interior, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, I had fish and chips with peas and my wife had jacket potato and salad, for sweets I had keylime pie and ice cream ( delicious) my wife had American cheesecake and ice cream again delicious followed by coffee and a chocolate brownie, all served by the most helpful waitress. I would highly recommend the hare and hounds on holyhead Road, top marks.

Booked a table today for 3pm for four plus a 3 year old for a carvery, after waiting 15 mins for a table then waiting another 15 mins for someone to come take the order we finale ordered our starter and mains,another 45 mins later someone asks have we had our starter umm NO, another 20 mins later we get told sorry we don,t have any meat left but we will try find some , what off the left overs, so it was time to leave Disgusting

Sunday Carvery. £8.95 per head. Shown to a table immediately and told to go to carvery whenever ready. Server was friendly and cut generous portions of meat. Good selection of vegetables. All good so far....The beef was really tasty but some of the roast potatoes were rock hard and veg was crunchy firm (which some people prefer). The main problem was our allocated table at the end of the serving area and adjacent close tables which gave little room for people to pass and for kitchen staff to bring out refill dishes for the carvery (A dish of roast potatoes passed over the top of one diner’s head en route to the servery). A couple of exiting diners tripped over a baby high chair placed at the end of a table reserved for a large party as it obstructed the access route. Don’t expect a quiet meal if a football match is being shown on the TV as the drinking area is well within earshot. All in all ... it was ok for the money but certainly not a place I would return to in a hurry.... there are better carveries in the area.

Disappointing - visited the newly opened smoking grill, hadn’t booked but as it was mid week didn’t think it would be an issue, was asked to sit in the bar area, there were a couple of tables occupied and a few extremely loud patrons at the bar, the menu looked good and we made our choices - the food arrived after a very long wait and looked really nice, however the chicken burger was full of grease, the batter was dripping and tasted horrible, the onion rings which were a replacement for coleslaw as they had run out were also caked in grease, my partners burger was tough and definitely not worth the money paid, fries were warm not hot - paid approx £15 for each burger and definitely not worth the money staff were more interested in their boyfriends and phones than customer service

Whilst travelling home we came across this lovely Indian restaurant which I must say was a real find. When the food came, we were not disappointed! Absolutely beautiful chicken korma..very tasty! My husband had lamb balti which was excellent also. Quite loud music but that did not bother us.

Went here recently. I have to say the food was very good, and i will review a few more times in order to compare thoroughly with the hop and vine and Dun Cow, but the food was certainly as good if not better in some areas. The flavours were great and cooking skills spot on.Just a couple of minor points, felt a bit sorry for the nice bar women who was serving on and doing the bar, which meant a short wait for drinks.The glass over the urinal unfortunately had scratched graffiti on which would be nice and cheap to fix, but i guess a throwback to the old pub.Maybe have one of the log burners on too on chilly nights, but take nothing away from the food and we will definately be back!

My partner and I stopped for a drink to watch the football yesterday and decided to stay for dinner as the menu looked so good! We were not disappointed, the food was amazing and such good value for money. Have recommended to friends in the area and we will also go back if we're ever in Telford.

Visited with friends for a special evening and found the space we were ushered into perfectly OK for us to chat and enjoy time together as a group of all ages. The food was plentiful and tasty, with the focus on the eating rather than the viewing. The staff were friendly, attentive, and understanding of our varied orders. Recommended.

Visited 26/1/19 with family. We are regular visitors to Indian grill bars in Walsall, Wolverhampton -Jacks, The Grove In Handsworth and Hop & Vine. In comparison the new Hare and Hounds food was very good, mix grill excellent all fresh and hot in temperature. Prices very competitive, large mix grill smaller than other locations.

We arrived just after 5pm on a Friday evening, to find that the only bitter on offer was John Smiths or Guinness? I’ve never known Guinness to be described as bitter.

Visited with the family on a quiet Saturday evening. No ales on only lagers which is not a surprise for an Indian. All 5 of us had fish pakoras or chicken wings for our starters and they were lovely and plenty on the plate! Unfortunately the mains were dreadful. Mid way through our starters the waitress asked us if we wanted our mains when we clearly were no where near finished. And when they came, (jalfrazi’s, Saag, Baltis) they were completely tasteless, the jalfrazis had no spice to them at all! The saag, 1 balti and one jalfrazi were pretty much untouched! Terrible!

My friend Kuldip chose this restaurant as I think he knows its just recently been taken over by new indian chefs and we all like great indian food! Five of us met up here last friday and we left Kuldip to chose the food for us all. Think we had a couple of medium mixed grills, 2 chicken dishes a balti and a jalfreizi, and a couple of lamb dishes a balti and jalfreizi. To accompany these we had pashwari nans, garlic nans and chilli garlic nans, a couple of boiled rice and some popudums. With our drinks we all had a great selection of food as we were all stuffed. The bill come to around £13 each, fab food and company. Only thing I will criticise is that the side room was a little chilli, please can we have it a bit warmer next time

I have just devoured the most gorgeous Chicken Biryani, accompanied by egg fried rice. Imagine my horror when I realised my plate was empty....OMG it's all gone.

Establishment recently refurbished and is now a Sports Bar / Indian Restaurant.

We heard that the 'Hare and Hounds' had been taken over and refurbished and was now offering traditional punjabi indian Grilled food and curries..... So we thought we would give it a try rather than travel over to Birmingham or Wolverhampton..

The Hare and hounds is now under new ownership and has undergone a complete rebrand.

My sisters arranged our first meal away from home, was told to be seated by 12 for starters, by 13.45 still hadn't been served, had ran out of lemonade, most beers, no vodka and 2/3 peopleserving on the bar and 1 serving 75 people the meals, eventually when we had our dinner at 15.00 it was nice but not worth the 3hr wait, apparently this was due to a management change a week before, they could of rang and let us know and something could of been arranged, worse Christmas experience ever and will never go back and advise anyone to think twice.

Called in here for Sunday lunch. Had heard there had been changes, Only Sunday lunches were on offer, so had no choice. The beef was tough and could have been cooked slower and longer. We had three choices of meat, the pork being a little fatty made it easier to chew. Although we had a large choice of accompaniments, the veg etc, some of these were under cooked and the top layers in the bain marie were only just warm. Needless to say we did not enjoy the meal,we did not chance the desserts, and wish I had kept on driving. We will not be using this establishment again.

i had a baby shower here for my daughter, i know it has been given some bad reviews but i have no complaints. I booked a buffet for approximately 15-17 people. when the food came out it was better than we could of ever imagined. we had plenty of food and we were even offered to take what was left home which we didn't accept, we decided to leave it for the people coming in to have a drink later. the food was fresh, well prepared and a good variety. i can't fault anything about that day.

Bought a Groupon voucher for a steak meal for 2 with wine. Booked online and also telephoned to confirm a few days before we arrived. When we got there, told the bar staff we had a voucher for a steak meal only to be told they stopped doing steaks 3 weeks ago and it is now a carvery. Offered a 3 course meal for 2 with a bottle of wine which we accepted. Very happy with the food, starters of spicy prawns and chicken wings. Carvery was beef or chicken with plenty of choice of vegetable, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli with roast and boiled potatoes, lovely gravy and the usual sauces. This was followed by rhubarb and apple tart with custard and ice cream sundae. everything delicious and very good portions. Nice bottle of wine went well with the food. Asked for a pint of Czech lager only to be told it had run out as had a ,ot of the other draught beers. Shame as the place itself is very nice, it appears to have been refurbished recently. Hope the owners get their act together and make it a success.

Had me mom's wake there he promised this and that then when we got there... if was a embarrassing the food he put out.he was quick to take the money before.I wouldn't of paid for it .....the carvery Sat there for 6 hours untouched or checked .not eat here unless it's a packet of crips

3 weeks ago we booked for my mother in laws wake to be held here on 061017 the manager said they would do the buffet for £300 and he reeled off what sounded like a fantastic choice. Last Monday he rang my brother in law asking for total payment asap, I at the time was out of the country and would only have paid a deposit and final payment on the day but he was obviously desperate for cash. On Friday we arrived at the hare and hounds at 1.45pm there was one table of food which comprised of 2 plates of sandwiches, 2 plates of wraps, 2 plates of wet soggy mini spring rolls and mini samosa, 2 quiches, 1 plate of chicken wings, 1 plate of halved mini pork pies and 1 plate of sausage rolls, disappointed and embarrassed was an understatement to make matters worse as I walked around offering tea and coffee ( which the manager had said he would provide foc) I was informed by several people that they had been charged for it. I confronted the manager and reminded him what he'd said regarding tea and coffee and he said he had forgotten , he made no attempt to refund anyone.i then offered tea, coffee to the attendees, ordered at bar and waited 15 mins, the young lad who took the order came back into the bar with an empty mug, he told me he could only find one mug! Turns out everything was packed away before the refurb. Eventually after complaining mugs appeared also a2 litre plastic bottle of milk and a dirty glass canister of sugar. I had to apologise to everyone as we were embarrassed by the poor quality of the buffet and this shambles regarding refreshments. The manager was contacted by my brother in law in the first instance the managers response was " well you enjoyed it" no it was a funeral not a party, totally inappropriate comment! On the next contact which was today my brother in law was offered a free meal and a drink. Not good enough, would never eat here as on Friday carvery was out when we got there and was still out untouched at 6.30. I put a review and shared there fb page earlier and they deleted it they also blocked my partner after he commented, insensitive, unprofessional, unorganised , cheap nasty poor quality food. The manager should be ashamed and embarrassed at the lack of service we received . Twice I posted a review on their Facebook page both deleted then I was blocked. Says it all really!!

Can't fault this place the Sunday cravary was tasty best I've had in a long while and good price staff were friendly good service will definitely recommend to others and will be going again

La espera indica que todo estaba recién preparado y el servicio era muy amable. La comida era deliciosa y tuvimos los mejores filetes y patatas fritas nunca. De hecho fue la placa. chuparse La selección de postres era normal, pero fue el plato principal que no es para nosotros. Vamos a volver a comprobar, si es tan bueno de nuevo.

Lovely Sunday Carvery. Food like your Mum cooked. Really did enjoy the lunch- great value for money at £5.95 I think it was. Would have been nice if the Tables were laid with the cutlery and napkins! I will be back- so no worries. Thanks

The food here is delicious and plenty of it, you don't have to wait long either, if your hungry this place will fill you up. Price are very good too.

I've been here several times over the last few months, Sunday lunch is always good, meat really nicely cooked, plenty of vegetable choices, regular top ups of food so it's hot and fresh. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait but we don't tend to book so that's our own fault. Excellent value for money.

Visited the Hare and Hounds on 11th Feb 2017. I must say the quality of the food was very good. Perfectly cooked steak with home made chips followed by a dessert I was pleasantly surprised. And the price was very reasonable, I have paid double and not had such a nice meal at other establishments.The interior needs attention and refreshing but for a good quality reasonably priced pub meal you could do worse than trying here.

Just had a lovely carvery lunch here with my family. Lovely food, excellent service and great value for money.

excellent service and excellent meal. amazing value for money. 4 choices of meat , vast choice of vegetables. everything was cooked to perfection the staff were all brilliant, and very helpful. Definitely will be recommending to family and friends.

Just popped here today for a spot of lunch, meeting the wife. I've been here before, as I used to work in offices about 5 minutes walk away, but not for 4-5 years. There's not much to say really...we stood at the bar for a few minutes, being ignored by TWO of the ladies behind the bar. They didn't make eye contact to acknowledge us, and said absolutely nothing, despite walking past us! We left. I'm sorry, but a "hello" is the least of my expectations, and is not difficult. The place wasn't busy at all, so there is NO excuse for this. I will never come back here.

from the minute you walk in your heart sinks the music is enough to deafen you, you then have to manoeuvre yourself past people standing at the bar the place looks like it could do with a really good clean definitely not the sort of place I would stop and eat in we took one look at the eating area and turned and walked out cannot comment on the food as we didn't stay long enough to try anything
