Amazing, friendly and quick service from Gail every time she is here. I would just like to say we have been in 3 times in the last 4 weeks when she has been in holiday and there was always 2 staff on and somehow the ser ice is slower. I'd like to know why Gail.is left to do everything on her own but when she's not here there is more staff. She either needs some help or a pay rise to make the work load fair!

Went on Sunday 11th Feb, food ok, could have been hotter, would have told them, if anyone bothered to ask, service very poor, young team, no leadership, slow with drinks, took 3 attempts to deliver 1 coffee, brought over with no sugar, had to be asked for, no spoon had to be asked for. No goodbye

We visited the grove for Mother’s Day, 6 adults, 1 child. 3 x roast chicken, 2 x 8oz fillet steak, 1 children’s chicken nuggets +chips. My meal (steak) came out and looked great, although my stone wasn’t hot enough to cook my steak, onions and mushrooms, my steak although looked great, tasted horrible. £23 to only be satisfied with the chips! My wife also couldn’t eat the chicken and neither could my father Inlaw, only eating less that half there meals. I wouldn’t go back if I’d not Eaton for a month and was offered a free meal!

Visited today and it’s such a beautiful welcoming place from the moment the door was held open for me and my baby till the delicious cake was served washed down with a beautifully crafted mochaccino ♥️ thank you for a lovely place to rest with my newborn daughter during our walk in Ironbridge today xxx

Warm welcome and friendly staff. When at table, the tablecloth was stained. Chair covers in need of a wash. We had pre ordered sandwich fillings, drinks and cakes. Not much choice for soft drinks (just 3). Tea and drinks came out but even though we had pre ordered, there was a very long wait for the food. When the food finally arrived the platters were doubled up and not individually served like other tables. Sandwiches were fresh and tasty but we had ordered all on brown bread. We received brown and white bread. Scones were nice but jam seemed a cheap brand. Mini desserts were mediocre. Wasn’t told what cheesecake of the day was. Had to ask after we had it. Victoria sponge was an oblong shape cut in half to make two pieces and buttercream too buttery. Lemon drizzle lacked lemon flavour but the chocolate fudge was delicious, sponge was fluffy.

Location: convenient to the town of Newport and have their own car park Service: We booked for Sunday lunch, our table wasn’t ready at the time we booked but that’s fine, we weren’t in a rush and the place seemed busy, most tables were occupied. Restaurant: Busy for Sunday lunch which we thought was a good sign. Cutlery and crockery very clean as was the table. The (fabric) seats could do with a wipe/wash/replace perhaps. A very cosy tea room vibe otherwise. Food: We ordered the pork Sunday lunch & the vegetarian quorn wellington. The pork was plentiful & was good to have a few different meat options with different sides, this came with crackling. The quorn wellington was okay, the mushroom/red wine jus was lovely but there were too many soggy mushrooms in the wellington. Probably wouldn’t order again however did appreciate as a vegetarian having a choice of options (the other being shepherds pie). The temperature of the veg and cauliflower cheese was not very hot (lukewarm) - I initially put this down to the place being busy but thinking about it, they would be constantly cooking these dishes so should be hot/fresh. We both also ordered the baileys white chocolate cheesecake which was lovely. Price: A good deal we thought, at 2 courses for £22, compared with other Sunday lunches. Overall: 5/10 we will continue our search for the best Sunday lunch

Fantastic Sunday Lunch with all the trimmings, yorkshire puddings, stuffing balls, cauliflower cheese, green beans, cabbage, carrots, broccoli, roast potatoes, real gravy and beef or turkey or pork or chicken - and we had such generous portions! We were welcomed with a big smile and shown to our table. Honestly, Paul and Diana and their wonderful friendly staff made our day. Thank you so much xxx
