Warm welcome and friendly staff. When at table, the tablecloth was stained. Chair covers in need of a wash. We had pre ordered sandwich fillings, drinks and cakes. Not much choice for soft drinks (just 3). Tea and drinks came out but even though we had pre ordered, there was a very long wait for the food. When the food finally arrived the platters were doubled up and not individually served like other tables. Sandwiches were fresh and tasty but we had ordered all on brown bread. We received brown and white bread. Scones were nice but jam seemed a cheap brand. Mini desserts were mediocre. Wasn’t told what cheesecake of the day was. Had to ask after we had it. Victoria sponge was an oblong shape cut in half to make two pieces and buttercream too buttery. Lemon drizzle lacked lemon flavour but the chocolate fudge was delicious, sponge was fluffy.

I've been here a few times and loved each visit. Their homemade fillings are lovely, especially the blue cheese, chilli and ham. Great variety of deserts, with different cakes each time I've been. I would definitely recommend.

My sister and I visited The Vintage Tea Room after craving a "nice sandwich".the staff were pleasant but the sandwiches were a real let down. Hoping for sliced chicken and a slice of decent bacon on thick cut bakery-style bread, we were given a mixture chopped up chicken with small pieces of bacon combined with mayo - I assume this was to make the filling "go further". The bread was cheap supermarket bread. This place has the potential to be really lovely but I could have bought the same sandwich from Greggs.

Came here yesterday (5/9/20) for a birthday treat, and after reading reviews we were really excited! However, the whole experience was pretty average and I for one, was quite disappointed... Food was nice but nothing too special, staff weren’t really that helpful and kept disappearing, they seemed very unsure of what they were doing and how to deliver customer service. Considering there was only 4 tables in when we went, they really should’ve been on the ball more.... Also, I opted for a peppermint tea as I’m caffeine intolerant, and it came in a horrible mug instead of a teacup and teapot, and we were never offered refills or even asked if we wanted anything else. I suppose the food is okay for the price (£13.95 per afternoon tea) but I wouldn’t choose to come back here in a hurry. A few personal touches, better trained staff, and a bigger savoury selection/better selection of food would make this place a lot better.

We had heard of the Team Rooms but never realised it is situated in a row of shops on the edge of Oakengates, town that does not immediately make you think of tea rooms. However as soon as you walk through the door it is as if you have been transported into Alice in Wonderland territory. We opted for the afternoon tea which was a selection of beautiful sandwiches and cakes with unlimited tea or coffee. We couldn't finish the cakes and the staff boxed some up for us to take home. Service and food were excellent. Highly recommended and don't let the outside put you off!!

My dad and i have visited here for afternoon tea on many occasions. The staff are very polite and will do anything to help. For £9.95 each for afternoon tea, you get a choice of finger sandwiches, a choice of plain or fruit scone with clotted cream and jam, a choice of either 2 bite size pieces of cake or a slice (large!) of any cake on display and a teapot full of tea which is refillable. All this served on and in bone china. If you don't manage it all, they will wrap it so you can take it home. The decor is pleasant and very chintzy as you would expect from a vintage teashop.

What an absolute delight this place is,we booked for a Christmas afternoon tea which has a great price of £12 each, this was our second visit. The ladies are pleasant and nothing is too much bother, all food is freshly made, the Christmas afternoon tea consisted of turkey, stuffing and cranberry finger sandwiches, light and fluffy scones with cream and jam,a slice of Christmas cake and a mince pie and enough tea to sink a ship, that and the company of good friends made for a lovely afternoon. The shop is decorated pleasantly with a fabulous dresser showing a variety of old teapots and tea cups, your food is served using old fashioned crockery and cutlery, and some great teapots, brings back memory’s of our Nans lol,I would like to just say that the step into the shop is a little on the high side but I witnessed the girls helping a lady in and I presume there’s entry from the back as a lady in a wheelchair exited that way.My friends and I have tried many different locations for a catch up,Ironbridge,Shifnal etc but this little tea shop wins hands down,we shall return

Lovely decor, superb vintage cups, teapots and plates, and the staff were really friendly. Having lived in Telford for over 20 years, I can't believe I have only it's found this little gem! We visited here on Mothering Sunday (having pre booked for 5 of us) for afternoon tea. Such a lovely quaint place. Staff so warm and welcoming, nothing too much trouble. We arrived to find our table all laid out with a wonderful selection of home made finger sandwiches and cakes. Due to dietary requirements we requested brown bread and a vegetarian option - all accommodated with no fuss. Tea served in China tea pots and cups, loved the sugar tongs and crochet doiley. Endless pot of tea was provided throughout our visit and as we were unable to eat all the cakes, the staff wrapped gem up for us to take home.

A delightful cafe which has carved out a niche for itself as worth making a special trip to Oakengares just to go this tea shop. The free car park across the road often with spaces available makes it ideal for taking elderly/disabled for visits.I visit regularly with my book club.I expect the business rates are low and this helps them keep prices low.A shame that other towns in Telford especially Wellington cannot replicate this success and use this model to rejuvenate our shopping centres

We had a voucher for Afternoon Tea so visited on 20.05.2017. There is a dresser in the shop displaying tea sets which brings back lovely memories of visiting my Nan.The tea comprised of fresh sandwiches, scones (with jam & cream) & cakes and lashings of tea or coffee, served in china tea/coffee pot. The cutlery and crockery were a trip down memory lane, me & my partner remember using these at home when we were younger. It is only a small tea room so was quite busy, particularly as it was a Saturday but the service was good. The step into the tea room is very steep so anyone with mobility difficulties would struggle to enter.I was a bit disappointed to note that the tea room is a 'Safe Place' however the sign promoting this was somewhat hidden on a side panel so not clear for a vulnerable person to see....

My sister & I took my 92 year old nan here today having booked a table last week. When we realised the entrance step was far too high for my nan to manage we walked round the back of the shop via a car park.We were seated and asked whether we wanted white or brown bread, I had g/free. There was no choice of sandwiches, we were just told the three fillings we were having. There was no decaf tea choice just Typhoo. Three different pots of tea arrived and the waitress was unsure which tea was which. We advised her to smell the tea as earl grey has a distinctive smell. Despite doing this, my nan was given my sister's earl grey which she only realised once she tasted. The g/free bread was very dry as was the gfree scone which came with jam and cream, no butter option. My cakes (again no choice given) I am sure were shop brought - a mini red velvet sponge cake and a cherry bakewell .I have been to many tea shops and this has a lot of improvements to make I feel. There was no atmosphere or vintage music playing.Within half hour of arriving, the fridge had been turned off and emptied and chair covers removed - obviously nearly closing. We all felt like we needed to hurry up and felt unwelcome. The final disappointment was the owner arriving with her children who then just hung about in the tearoom waiting to go home - very unprofessional.A real shame.

I promised my Mother In Law we would go there for afternoon tea, so on my most recent visit to Telford this week we popped in to this jewel in Oakengates crown!I loved the décor - it had all been thoughtfully done, from the hat stand with authentic oldfashioned hats, to the variety of china, right through to the wallpaper which matched the chair wraps and table cloths. The ladies were wonderful and made sandwiches according to requirements and we could chose our bread. All came on beautiful cake stands, lovely tea (offered more if required) and the whole ambience felt fantastic. The fillings in the sarnies were lovely, the homemade scone fab and the other cakes tasty. In fact we couldn't eat it all, so the lady quite happily packed them up for us to take home. There was a very high step to access the tea room, however one wheelchair bound lady came in through the back door which the staff were more than willing to help out,I will most definitely go again on my next visit

The staff are friendly and welcoming, the menu has a wide variety of choice and the cakes are absolutely delicious! I would recommend the cream tea the most. It is completely hidden away and not what you would expect from a Telford high street. The cake was absolutely HUGE and tasted so good! Such good value for money, completely homemade too and you can tell this from the taste of how fresh they are. There is a small car park located right next door which is also incredibly convenient.

I think the tearoom has been taken over by new management recently my wife and I have been regular visitors .We quite frankly disappointed the service felt a little rushed and confused I ordered my usual scone and it came out with jam but no cream on asking for cream I was told that is with the afternoon tea not with just a scone. The cream was then delivered I can tell you what it was not "roddens clotted cream" it was possibly a step above single runny cream very poor and impossible to spread. My wife's tea was weak and insipid not like it usually was perhaps cheap cash and carry teabags had been purchased can I suggest a "tea room" should serve nothing but high quality tea. It was also very hot and stuffy in there all in all not a pleasurable experience we will probably give it one last chance as it had become a favourite and we love the style and ambience.

...but just as good. The previous owner has moved on from this delightful little haven. However, the new owner is the lady who made the cakes, so it's just as good. In fact she now sells the best egg-custard tarts I've ever tasted. The are big, so there is plenty of custard, with lovely crisp pastry. 10 out of 10 for these - eat your heart out M&S!

I had heard great things for a while so decided to give it a go. We looked around and the tables around us had nice looking sandwiches, jacket potatoes and cakes. After much deliberation we ordered afternoon tea for two, my expectation was sandwiches, scone and little cakes. This is indeed what we received. The sandwich fillings were cheese and cucumber, plain ham and chicken and bacon in a mayonnaise. The cheese was bland and the chicken and bacon was processed. I would have like a choice to be able to have 'traditional' afternoon tea choices ie smoked salmon, fresh chicken etc. I would have been happy to pay more if offered. The scone was amazing but the little cakes were Mr Kipling French fancy, batterburg and something else! I would have expected home made cakes. This should be clear on the menu as when you walk in you see lovely looking home made cakes when you walk in. We chose to leave the Mr Kipling cakes. We lifted the table cloth as it was a lace one to find that it was covered in many peoples crumbs and there was far too many to be from that lunchtime! It may have been that my expectation was too high but having afternoon tea in many places before, I was disappointed in our offering.I would go again as it is a lovely tea shop, their choice looked good on the general menu, I would just not have the afternoon tea again.

Absolutely LOVELY tea shop! The service was wonderful, the cakes looked (and tasted) amazing and the price was extremely good value for money. The decor of the place is ever so pretty. I took my parents there as I'd heard good things about this place and we were not disappointed! Highly recommended - as is a visit to the little shop next door!

I took my wife off for a quick cream tea whilst we stayed in Telford. The surroundings were not what we expected. Hardly a cottage but a 60s terrace. But the service and the cream tea were superb. We were even given extra cake to take away for free! And the staff were SO friendly. Thanks to them for making our (all too brief) visit so pleasant. 5 stars - no question.

What a pleasure to visitWent with my wife, 10 year old daughter and of course the mother in law for afternoon tea. The setting is very much vintage with proper china plates, cups and saucers. That sandwiches were top draw and the cakes to die for. The service is very attentive without being pushy only a gesture towards the staff and more tea arrived. Would definitely go again so much better than the more expensive garden centre afternoon tea 10/10

Had the most amazing party for my daughter yesterday, the lovely owner opened the tearoom to do her party especially as she's normally closed on a Monday. Nothing was to much trouble even when faced with some difficult children requiring other food items which she hadn't catered for. The cakes and sandwiches were fantastic and all the little girls enjoyed there princess tea party. We did make a mess but nothing phases Sharon at all. Very grateful being able to give my daughter an amazing experience on her actual birthday which is difficult so near to Christmas. Would recommend the tea room for all gatherings small or large.

Went here for breakfast, good selection of meals on the menu, I had bagels and tea in a proper tea pot and china cups. Brilliant service, prices very reasonable and not one of the `plastic` coffe shop chains...absolute bliss. The owners deserve to do well. I'll be calling again for afternoon tea soon..

We visited the grove for Mother’s Day, 6 adults, 1 child. 3 x roast chicken, 2 x 8oz fillet steak, 1 children’s chicken nuggets +chips. My meal (steak) came out and looked great, although my stone wasn’t hot enough to cook my steak, onions and mushrooms, my steak although looked great, tasted horrible. £23 to only be satisfied with the chips! My wife also couldn’t eat the chicken and neither could my father Inlaw, only eating less that half there meals. I wouldn’t go back if I’d not Eaton for a month and was offered a free meal!

Pub recently taking over by an individual who leftt his Dog to rot to death in the back of his previous pub in The Railway Hotel Nantwitch. And the workers are in on it If you give these people your money you are supporting this and becoming a part of the problem! Absolutely vile. Poor pups

I go with my friends here all the time!! The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff are very friendly, and it’s an all-round pleasant place to be. And of course, I must mention Bruno. He’s the goodest boy, always happy to see him there 🐶. 10/10, would recommend.
