Stopped in for lunch to break up our journey to N Wales. Lured in by the owners YouTube channel we were not disappointed! Lamb Tacos were amazing. Thank you!

We were staying at the campsite up the hill and we’re delighted to find this cafe had reopened under new ownership since our last visit. A lovely location with friendly staff, a good vibe and food so tasty we ate there three times in three days.

This is a really nice spot, part of a nice little community of workshops, museums and gift shops in some woodland near the Coalbrookdale furnaces. Went for Sunday lunch and was seriously impressed - normally the stuff like the cabbage, carrots and so on are the bits I rush through to get to the main event but they had been elevated to a whole new level. The cauliflower cheese was excellent and the beef was so tasty and an excellent portion. At £22 for a dinner it's not cheap but definitely felt worth it as a treat.

Lovely roast dinner with a smoky flavoured beef and wild garlic stuffing for an impressive pork dinner. Roasted potatoes were perfectly cooked with light Yorkshire pudding and tasty gravy. Finished with a delicious coffee . Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Visited for Sunday lunch- pre booked as recommended on Facebook. Well worth the visit. Food was tasty with huge portions so come with an empty stomach. It gets busy so be warned but not intrusively busy. Will definitely be returning- would love to do some of the event nights. Recommend the Brussels sprout pakora

This was our second visit to Embers and I cannot overemphasise just how good the whole experience is. The location is lovely, off the beaten track up a lane opposite Dale End park so ideal for walkers exploring the Gorge. It’s a real asset to the area. From excellent coffee and delicious homemade cakes to an epic Sunday lunch (make sure to book though) and the most inventive breakfast/lunch options, the food is just fantastic. Adam’s creative menu offers something for everyone. He is such a talent. The staff are also lovely, so welcoming, accommodating and friendly. Good service really does make all the difference and Adam and Tess have established a solid team. My only wish is that we lived closer and could make visiting a regular occurrence!

Spent a wonderful few hours chilling out here today soaking up the relaxed atmosphere and making the most of the very interesting menus. Starting with sharing a breakfast dish with my daughter before going onto the lunch menu. An exciting range of dishes. Perhaps Brussel sprout kimchi might not be one everyone would leap to try but I have 100% confidence that if it's on the menu it deserves a place and it didn't disappoint. I also got to find out about seitan and how Embers make their own whichgiven my worry over superprocessed All rounded off with an excellent coffee. Well done Embers Thank you to the Adam, Tess, Bruce. Looking forward to a return visit soon.

Sunday dinner had the Chicken was pink in parts so left as could kill me, then veg and potatoes stone cold solid and uncooked. The wood fire kept smoking heavily so they opened door it was below freezing 🥶 everyone in my party had coates on as shivering. Could be great with proper management but I got the impression that being run by teenagers so no attention to important details and very expensive for what I had.

Looking forward to trying Embers and had driven an hour from Oswestry to try it. I checked the website and it stated booking not necessary unless in groups over 10, so we got there at 2pm and thought, great, nobody really here. Then we got told they were full and couldn’t accommodate two of us for a Sunday lunch roast only. Despite there being at least 15 empty tables. Pretty poor service and wouldn’t return now. Maybe change what’s stated on your website? Or improve your customer service.

Calling this place a ‘cafe’ doesn’t do it justice. There isn’t a boring sandwich or scone in sight. The food was amazing, it had a really great chilled out vibe and the staff were super friendly. Our dog was welcomed and given a biscuit. The only negative I have to say is that the menu was so good I couldn’t decide what to eat! Absolutely brilliant; I almost don’t want to write a good review in case everyone else finds out ho great it is and I can’t get a table next time I go there!

Ignore the poor reviews-they are disgruntled vegans missing their granola munching spot. Embers Sunday lunch is by far the best that I have tasted in years. The taste of the smoke comes through, the veg is tasty and the service is excellent. Make sure that you book though.

Well this morning myself and partner decided to visit for breakfast. I had been following Adam and Embers for a while so had been excited to finally tick off my list. Being foodies and coffee fans, we like to treat ourselves. We were not disappointed. I had pancakes and bacon with a side of crispy potatoes. My partner had the big breakfast. The food and their collaboration coffee were both very enjoyable. Needless to say we will be back. Quite local for us for an occasional treat. Thanks for warm welcome and see you soon

Turned up on the off chance no problem getting a table, shown to our seats and offered a blanket as it was a bit nippy inside. I went for the breakfast (£13), my partner had pancakes (£8), coffees at around £3 each. Food arrived prompt and didn’t disappoint, my breakfast was too much for one sitting so opted to leave most of the pit beans and toast. Lovely rustic setting with very friendly staff, thumbs up.

First time visiting Embers & really excited after seeing so much hype on social media as well as constant sell out nights/lunches. Visited as a couple for Sunday lunch. Honest review the good the bad and the ugly in our opinion :) Parking: A bit cramped and awkward to find a space but we did, it helps that the sittings are 12:30 or 14:30 so people are arriving/leaving around the same time however could’ve easily got trapped in. Wonder if there is more parking I may have missed? Restaurant & service: We were seated quickly and the staff we interacted with were friendly. You order at the till from a small but inclusive menu including a veggie and vegan option. Unfortunately the restaurant was absolutely FREEZING - it was a cold day and didn’t feel like there was any heating at all. After ordering we waited AN HOUR for the food to come, in the cold. I ended up putting my coat back on whilst waiting. I struggle to understand on a limited menu and relatively small restaurant how food can take a full hour to arrive, personally I think this is far too long. Perhaps taking preorders and prepayments might be an idea to combat this? The restaurant itself could also do with a deep clean and lick of paint, the cold metal chairs had stains all over them, some sunken in, dust all around etc. Personally for me, the atmosphere and environment is all part of the experience so this wasn’t a good first impression. I was desperately hoping the food would be incredible. Food: We ordered 1 beef option and 1 veggie squash baklava. The beef was good (we were both starving at the point the food arrived) but have had better elsewhere; we think with a Sunday roast all of the food being hot is important but some bits tasted like they were left out. The smoked squash baklava was lovely as was the tomato gravy it came with. Overall: 6/10 this place would be lovely for a coffee on the deck in the summer Sunday roast check out the Last Inn in Newport it’s a step above this place

This is a fabulous, friendly, hidden away, unusual café/bistro. We were so thrilled to find this excellent place and managed to squeeze in a lovely breakfast BAP just before church on a Sunday morning. The Embers has an unusual menu, but don’t be intimidated. All the food is excellent and prepared with consideration and thought. Later in the day, I spoke to all my local friends and family and they raved about this place - so clearly it has a good local reputation. It’s all set in a lovely wooden building. In a past life, I have had the privilege of blending my own coffee and selling it, and the coffee here was delicious, unusual, but so good, I had a second large cup! Thank you for your warm welcome. As I told you at the time; you made my day!
