The best restaurants serving British food in Shropshire West Midlands

Not being a golfer dined at this restaurant for Sunday Lunch with a large party.The ambiance/quality of the furnishings(including the chandeliers) is impressive.We paid £17.95 for 3 courses.A sign on the bar declared 25% discount for 19th January.This was for members only and I think mgt need to advertise this to members some other way... The service was very good.We were happy with the food.except the creme brulé which was runny. Some confusion over diners who opted for the 3 courses on the day paying more than those who had prebooked was unfortunate.I think they should also include coffee/tea in the package...makes it easier for larger parties All in all it is a lovely venue..inevitably very adult environment..which lends itself to special occasions.If I could play golf I would join the club.

I would like thank all the members of staff that made my wife’s birthday so special. The amazing buffet was well worth the coast, the amazing staff that nothing was to much trouble for them. Would recommend The Shrewsbury Arms to anyone.

Went here for lunch for the first time yesterday with the hubby and mother in law and was really impressed with their £6 lunchtime menu. It's a scaled down version of their main menu, but, the portion was good, and so was the food. I had spiced chicken goujons in a brioche bun with chips and coleslaw which was lovely. The mother in law gave half of her fish to my husband as it was too much for her, and my husband ordered the gammon with a choice of two eggs, two pineapple or one of each. I would recommend you give this Monday to Friday lunchtime menu a try. Well worth it. Good service by friendly staff too👍.

Terrible, we asked for 3 Long Island iced tea, and the told they didn’t have the ingredients for it. It’s a cocktail bar, really!

Visited a wedding fayre here, stunning venue, gorgeous layouts. Especially loved the tipi on the lawn with the woodland ceremony area. All suppliers were really chatty and helpful. We are very much considering this venue for our future wedding

I’ve lived in Shrewsbury for two years now, and this is by far the best Chinese food I’ve found so far, and I’ve tried a lot of places! The sweet and sour king prawn balls were amazing.

The flights on the darts kept coming off, a very nice pub.

They put a roof over my head when I was homeless back in oct 2020, Thank you for your help making sure I was okay bringing me breakfast and letting me stay, was a scary situation for me, but you gave me a warm meal and dried my eyes for a little your small gesture has put a massive imprint of my heart your pub is now a story in my life, that I keep coming back to Thanks for being so good to me:)!!! Absolutely disgusting service, seating area is up 4 steps with disabled or pushchair access. I was In total disbelief when my partner had to struggle bumping a pram with our 2month old in up the steps, I was unable to assist due to broken ribs but still absolutely disgusting

We have had lunch here many times over the last years and have previously reviewed The BB but feel that it deserves another shout-out. Yesterday, for example, lovely well-cooked food and delivered hot which we do like. A characterful building so plenty to look at and admire. The staff are a delight and you can have a bit of banter with the regulars at the bar if you so wish. Thoroughly recommend. Oh, almost forgot to say that the place is absolutely spotless. Even the plants are dust-free!

Being that it was a lovely sunny but very cold day we decided to have a drive out and after about 1.5 hours we came across this attractive looking pub,we had checked prior to going in if they had Salmon on the menu which the y did so ordered drinks and food which came fairly quickly and the food was very good so decided to have a dessert which was very big and delicious,so all positive so far,but my only negative was that the pub was cold and the toilets were freezing and the hand dryer was out of order,which on a very cold day it would have been lovely to go in to a warm and welcoming pub and maybe stay longer ,but just too cold.

Lovely setting and pleasant staff. Priced reasonable. We chose a double afternoon tea. The sandwich were really delicious and fresh. Lots of filling. The scone was hard, but I asked to change and got a delicious warm soft scone as a replacement. Lots of tea and moist light cake. Sensible afternoon tea, not too much cake.

Great Beer! Extremely professional staff! They made sure a friend of mine made it home safely after his birthday celebrations! Thank You
