Don't mistake this as a chain restaurant. it's actually a well run pub with a good atmosphere. They understand the importance of celiac and the waitress was really kind and helpful, well deserved 5 stars and I'll be back soon

Had a lovely visit to the pub and stayed in the Premier Inn also. We both had a gorgeous meal starter and main and the staff were so lovely and accommodating especially Joseph who waited on our table. Very friendly and makes the visit more memorable when happy staff. Food was delicious and atmosphere was great. It was a Sunday night so not too busy. This is our second visit here and we will certainly be returning again

I can never fault the service here, really friendly and professional staff we were served by Gareth and Joseph who made us feel so welcome, the company are really lucky to have staff that are passionate about their work and customers. Will definitely be back again soon.

This a pleasant enough place to go to, the restaurant is clean and atmospheric and the food is what you expect of a pub grub restaurant but that is where to redeeming qualities end. The wait times have always been long when visiting this restaurant, sometimes waiting nearly an hour for a desert. The food is alright however portion sizes and menu options have reduced over time. If you are in the area I would suggest dining elsewhere, the Corbet arms and the admiral duncan are better options in the area

Overall we found the food ok and the service was good. The waiting staff were nice and friendly, the food was what we expected, not amazing but not rubbish either. The Sunday roast was very popular but we opted for the chicken and gammon off the main menu. We would return again.

Friday afternoon lunch, staff were extremely busy but very polite & we got seated & ordered our drinks & food. We opted for the lunch time menu & chose to add a starter & pudding to this, great value for money. Food was excellent (sorry I can't remember the chefs name) Barbara & Heather couldn't do enough for you & was lovely chatting to Barbara who took the time to talk to us even though she was extremely busy. We just had Sunday roast and it was absolutely terrible. Microwave meal would of tasted better than that. Paid extra for pigs in blankets and had to have 1half each 😂.

Food was good however the place is in a very sorry state and the walls are very dirty, it was hard not to wonder how clean the kitchen is if the dinning area is so dirty. We waited a long time considering it wasn't busy. This place used to be amazing value with fantastic staff, it was a shame to see what it's become.

Service was slow,food was ok, the bacon burger & chips was a very small portion for the price. A happy meal at Mcdonalds would of been better fir the burger.Will not be rushing back

2 Main meals for £11 at the moment during the week. Our meals were hot and tasty.but a limited selection.

Only able to give one star on account of the level of service....... basically none. We'd booked a table, got there, stood for 15mins with no-one to show us to our table. So had to go looking for someone to seat us. Got seated in the corner, did get served drinks and main course......then forgotten about. Once we'd eaten, no-one came for our plates, or dessert, or drinks, or anything. We sat there for almost 45mins with no attendance. If we wanted, we could've left without paying and they wouldn't have noticed. But as we're not those type of people, we did pay. But we won't be returning. And I hope this acts as a warning to others too. If this places cares even a little bit about customer feedback, then I suggest you get your staff sorted out.

Friday 5 July 2024. A very busy evening and we had to wait a while for our meal. Joseph was looking after our table and was very busy. He was a excellent host, very attentive and friendly. The meal was worth the wait and we had a very nice time.

Nice pub didn't have food but what we saw looked very good.

Was asked straight away about any allergies. Brought food separately on tray with new cutlery, had to take it off tray server didn't touch it. Menu came list of allergy ingredients. Food great food and service.

Always nice to go to the Bridgewater, lovely place, good food and plenty of offers goin on.Theres always a plenty of choice on the menu,mains and dessert.It's a nice drive from the town, very scenic and not far at all. There's a Premier Inn nxt door which is very convenient and it brings in extra custom.Since the last time we were there they have brought in new staff, i think the service has improved immensely and we enjoy going.The carparking is excellent,yards from the main door and great views over Shropshire.Just visited the Bridgewater again and it never lets us down.The Gammon with two eggs was excellent so was the curry.

Waited nearly 90 minutes from ordering food, we asked for an update after an hour, no one came back to confirm that either! Eventually we ended up having to give up and head off without eating and paying for our drinks only - extremely disappointing. Won’t be revisiting

Male member of staff in particular goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. Nothing is to much trouble for him and cooks your food exactly has you like it

Awful service, almost comically so, although the individuals were nice and polite. We waited more than an hour for our desserts; went up to the counter (the only way to get any attention from the staff) twice to ask and only when we had finally given up - and went back to the counter for a third time to ask for the bill - did they arrive

Just to get a drink, on a Thursday evening, takes 20 minutes queuing. I'm disabled and when I asked another member of staff if I had to queue amongst all the food orders, he just looked down at me. I will NEVER come back which therefore precludes me from ever staying at the adjoining Premier Inn again.

Recently visited as part of a large group, we were well looked after during our stay. Our evening meal was well organised, Heather and Gaz have put together a great team. Special mention has to go to Joe, who is a shining star of this team and has a great way with all the customers he serves.

The Bridgewater Arms, in Hamer Hill, Shropshire, combines fantastic value for money with excellent quality food. The menu is great for families, couples or single people who want to grab something tasty at a reasonable price. Furthermore, the staff are attentive, friendly, and offer terrific service. I always believe the staff at a restaurant can make or break it, and the staff definitely make it at the Bridgewater Arms, so I would like to mention a few team members who always give us fantastic service whenever we eat - Archie, Tom, Gareth, Lynsey and Heather.

Tried to have breakfast, waited 25 minutes for someone to take our order while people around us were being served. We left.

Its been a long time since I have come across an unbelievable meal. I had the smothered grill and I have to say was cooked to perfection. Definitely worth every penny and more. We'll done.

Drive by this place frequently, decided to stop by. Big mistake. Soulless place, which basically appears to be the dining room/ extension of the premier inn, oddly situated at the side of a B-road. Toilets were a mess and not cleaned for at least 3 hours Saturday 6th April, according to the sheet - it certainly showed. Could’ve been a proper country pub but needs adept management/ chef and possibly re-situation of the outside seating and beer garden

Good food and great service on a VERY busy night. All the staff were helpful and attentive, it was our sons 11th birthday and they made him feel very special. Considering we had not booked we were given a larger private table which Barbara looked after us on. The food was good, Easter egg Sundays are awesome, thanks to Nat on the kitchen for all the great food.

Proper modern pub in an ideal spot for us a couple of miles from where we were staying. The attached Premier Inn offers parking , lack of maintainence meant that that the car park was peppered with massive pot holes to navigate both by car and on foot. How these haven't been fixed is beyond understanding. The pun is welcoming and warm. Service was very good and the fixed "Easter Menu" was quite a bargain. Food was no better or worse than we expected. I'd certainly use it again.

Years ago, this pub used to be regularly busy and had good quality food. The last visit we had to the Bridgewater roughly a year ago wasn't up to par. We decided to give it another chance and it still hasn't changed much. Where we were sat, the walls, ceiling and carpet were dirty and covered in food. The food itself was of basic quality and was delivered lukewarm. The car park is full of potholes too - watch out!

We went to celebrate Mother's Day, and we enjoyed the meal. We selected our meals from the Mother's Day menu and cross-referenced it to the allergy sheets. The QR code on the menu was a great help. There was a limited selection for us (we are gluten-free) for starter and main, with only 1 desert option. But we all enjoyed our meal.

Love this restaurant. The staff are efficient and friendly. The food is excellent and everywhere is exceptionally clean. Highly recommend it.

The service from walking in was very warming and polite. My partner and I were very impressed. The food on the other hand was very average. I purchased the recommended house special- the chicken and ribs combo. My partner ordered the sausage and mash. The service was efficient and friendly. My allergy requirements were taken very seriously and I was very impressed. The service was 5*. A real shame that the meal wasn’t up to the servers standard. Before leaving my partner and I wanted to play a game of pool. We put our money into the table and there was no white ball. I asked behind the bar and it is usually kept behind the bar- no signage to state this. The bar staff looked for the ball before realising that it was missing and gave us our money back.

Customer service is not great. I had booked a table for dinner but when we arrived it took at least 15 minutes to get anyone's attention or eye contact. Service was 'ok' for the main course but the wait for someone to take our dessert order was awful. After giving us the menu we told the waitress we hadn't quite chosen but she never came back! We waited at least another 20 minutes gave up and paid at the bar. The food we did get was perfectly good and value for money.

Booked for a family birthday meal, 5 adults 2 small children, Mary and her team made us welcome, food was good at a reasonable price. service was in good time the young server brought the kids crayons and paper we felt nothing was too much trouble they even joined in the birthday singing when they brought the cake, thank you all for an enjoyable lunch

Food not up to normal standards. You Get a better more tasteful meal at morrisons cafe. Overpriced. wife had upset stomach in the evening after lunchtime visit.

Fabulous hard working staff. The team was clearly under pressure, and understaffed but all team members were friendly, cheerful and very helpful. Amazing service at Breakfast and quality food. We took advantage of their Dinner and Breakfast deal. Although very busy, and a long wait, staff were apologetic and so very hardworking. Please recruit to help them!

Awful customer service from a particular member of staff this evening. Such a shame as we have visited 3 times before and always received great customer service from all the staff, however tonight, we were really disappointed with the attitude from a certain staff member. I have contacted management to look into this as it is really disappointing to receive such rude service!

Went as a family group of 8 for my daughter's 18th Birthday, and was a brilliant evening from the start. We were seated in a relatively secluded area which was lovely, and my daughter was given a complimentary bottle of prosecco. Lyndsie, our main waitress for the night was super friendly and attentive the whole night, and really made the evening so special for us all. Food was fabulous - we were only planning on having starters and mains, but after seeing the dessert menu just had to squeeze one in! (Thank you to chef Nat). Definitely recommend for a special occasion.

Last week i came here with my family to celebrate my 18th birthday and i couldn’t ask for more, when we all got there lindsay introduced herself and gave me a complimentary mini bottle of prosecco, a great start! We then all ordered and ordered starters and mains, everyone was very happy with there food and the service was also very good as they were always making sure we were happy with our food and checked if we wanted any more drinks. After finishing our mains we ordered desserts, the sticky toffee pudding was one of the best i ever had and they were very patient with how slow i ended up eating it. Overall it was a great night and i couldn’t of asked for better service and food, thank you very much lindsay :)

Lovely little pub in the middle of nowhere. No frills menu but friendly staff.

As soon as we arrived for dinner Lyndsie greeted us with a warm welcome, she radiates such a lovely aura that you just can't help but feel relaxed. she is so caring and attentive nothing is too much trouble for her. All the staff at the Bridgewater Arms are a credit to the company , their customer skills are one of the best I have experienced. Well done team.

What a great waitress Lyndsie is. Even though they were short staffed, Lyndsie was still as friendly and welcoming as ever.

Arrived at 12.30 and gave our food order by 12.40. We were told at 1.10 that there had been a problem with their printer going to the kitchen but they were not exactly sure what had happened. We waited a further 30 minutes and still had no food so we paid for our drinks and left. The staff were full of apologies as to the reasons behind the poor service but could not explain why we waited a further 30 minutes after the first apology. They did not even offer to give us our drinks for free and took the £3 payment before leaving. We have been going to the Bridgewater frequently for the past 3 years and the service is sometimes hit and miss but this was by far the worst experience of food service we have ever suffered anywhere.

The food was good and came at a great price. The staff were excellent, friendly, polite, welcoming , attentive. What more can I say but thank you Lyndsie and Mary.

Visited for a lunch with friends. Food excellent. Well decorated and warm, ambient dining areas. Very friendly and helpful reception. But above all, the table service was absolutely wonderful. I have never in all my life, in many different countries and environments been served by a more friendly, genuine, well informed and caring person as Lyndsie. Excellent location with lots of rooms being a Premier Inn too ample parking although it's full of huge potholes. Staff friendly food very nice and not overly expensive.

The pub became our favourite place for breakfast with my friend. The food is always lovely and fresh and very reasonably priced, the whole place including the toilets are spotless clean every time we there. We've eaten here multiple times over the past couple of years as its not far from our home, and they send out very generous discount codes via email if you join their club. We decided to eat here on christmas eve as we always eat out on the 24th. The food was the best we've ever had there. The mac & cheese balls were oven cooked rather than fried due to allergies and were surprisingly better than the fried ones we had (also delicious, just slightly less so tjan the oven baked ones). So tasty! The service was really great as usual, there were 2 young men, one called Sam but I didn't catch the other ones name (sorry). Both were attentive and friendly. We were particularly impressed how they handled 2 of our parties odd allergies, and avoided cross contamination. Portion sizes were large, puddings and cocktails were amazing too. We had a fab Christmas eve, and would highly recommend the Bridgewater Arms.

Over all this was an enjoyable meal, served at my pace with time between main and sweet to give me time to digest. The main of chicken was tasty, the vegetables were well cooked Al dente and the combined meal very good. I choose the Prosecco and Strawberry trifle, every mouth full was to die for. Whisky and American coffee to wash it all down. A sad complete lack of Single Malts and a poor selection of blended whiskies limited my choice but the level of service and the friendly staff almost compensated for this. I saw other customers come and go but I managed to eat a relaxed, continental pace and went home sated. Best to book on busy days and weekends. The place was busy, even though it was a Tuesday and was more a restaurant than a pub. Also acting as an hotel, the mix of customers was wide, the portions modest but tasty and the service was efficient and friendly. Even though I am a fairly irregular visitor to the bar there is always a cheerful welcome from the friendly staff. I couple of pints of beer and an interesting conversation with one of the hotel guests, working in the area, who stay in this popular business and socially conveniently located guesthouse, just North of the county town and located in a quiet village surrounded by farmland, woods and impressive views and stunning sunsets, to the West and the hills of the Welsh border.

Seated quickly, politely given normal and Christmas Menu. Went for 3 courses, Pate , Steak on a bed of puff pastry and mushrooms with roast tatties. Also a small jug of amazing mushroom sauce 😋 Then a chocolate orange matchmakers sundae. Best meal in ages...

Our server, Sam, was very attentive. It was our daughters 9th birthday and he bought her out a gift, which she loved! Food was good too.

Nice restaurant bar which is part of the Premier Inn located next door. Went on a Sunday afternoon and must have arrived at shift change as short on staff when we first arrived. Staff were very attentive though and couldn't fault them. Food pricing is good value for money. It's not a la carte but very good quality pub food. An extensive selection so every taste should be catered for. Decent selection of drinks on offer including double up on spirits for an extra £1.50! Seems to cater for hotel guests and celebratory groups due to pricing. Worth a visit if in the area. Returned on a Saturday evening. The food is to the same standards as before but it is noticeable that the service is not the fastest. The staff are very friendly but for some reason it takes a while for the food and drinks to arrive. It wasn't a problem for us but with bearing in mind.

Nice food and atmosphere, the staff were lovely however both our food and drinks took ages to come leading us to be there for 2:30hrs in total which was a bit of a nightmare when we had two small children with us.

Travelled 7 miles to have a pint and some food with family.... The service wasn't quick, the Guinness wasn't available and the food was ok. There was nothing exactly wrong with the visit but everything about the experience was just ok hence the 3 stars.

Visited today 15th October, for Sunday lunch, very pleasant experience, food good, service excellent, Seb, our waiter, had excellent customer service skills, made us feel relaxed and welcome highly recommended will definitely visit again 😀

We went to the Bridgewater Arms for lunch on Friday, we wanted a meal from the lunchtime deal menu, after placing an order for the cheeze and onion pie we were later informed the the pies hadn't been delivered as this was the only plant based meal on the lunchtime deal menu, Katie kindly gave us the option of selecting a meal from the main menu and honoured the deal price. First time good food and very helpful staff

First time eating dinner here. Also booked for breakfast tomorrow as staying at Premier Inn attached to it. Arguably the best Premier Inn restaurant we been to. Met friends with kids here, including ours kids we had a party of 7. We had our own area at back which is very smart so the madness can stay away from the main restaurant. It was private and just felt very comfortable, top decision. Was served by Lyndsie and Joe for evening. Honestly we couldn't ask for better people. They were amazing with us and the kids, sometimes it takes a while to get kids to say what they want but not once they complained or seemed impatient. They interacted with kids several times making them feel valued and treated them like people rather than dismiss them which unfortunately happens in some places, again very respectful and appreciated. Both were friendly entire time and came back to check on us several times which was really lovely. Our food was as it should and on time. No delays of any form or shape which was much appreciated, especially after our long journey up with added delays from South Wales. Thanks Whitbread and thanks Joe and Lyndsie.
