Great local pub with a fantastic Tuesday open mic night session - the musicians are the best in the county! Such a great atmosphere in a proper local old Inn!

Great place very friendly and allows dogs too.

So spent a lovely impromptu afternoon in the Wheatsheaf with a bunch of old friends as part of a reunion. The landlady could not of been more accomadating. We will be back next time.

Great back-to-basics sort of place. Nice old characterful building and a good selection of beers on tap. The stand out was the reception we got from the staff. Really friendly, put on a few platters of basic nibbles at very short notice and generally made a fairly large group of us feel very welcome

15 of us walked in, impromptu after a 35 year reunion. Staff bent over backwards for us with snacks food and, more importantly, had the rugby on. Great food, beer and service. Thanks very much.

Dropped in here with a large group of friends. They knocked up a buffet for us with no notice. A decent pint and a good traditional atmosphere.

Dropped in as part of a group attending a reunion. Landlady was extremely friendly and welcoming. Provided the group with several trays of food at no notice. Couldn't do enough to make us feel very welcome.

Nice place very old inside which I love ...very quiet I'm sure it gets busier but we had a nice time here and would come again.

Lovely village pub with a great selection of drinks and local residents. Visited on a Tuesday night and had a fantastic night with fantastic staff and the friendly resident dog

Popped in while I was waiting for my family with my father. Received such a warm welcome from the bar staff and a gentleman (Mel ?). A decent pint at a decent price. Will definitely pop in next time I am in the area. Dog Friendly aswell

Popped into the Wheatsheaf for a quick drink while visiting Shifnal for the day and the landlady was very welcoming and chatty. Prices were reasonable and hubby enjoyed trying the Ale. They've got a lovely dog I believe called Bow? As someone who is scared of dogs this one was incredible gentle. Anyway if it's been a while since you've visited, it's worth popping in to meet the new landlady Donna.

It doesn't serve food so I can't comment but the service was brilliant and it had a really lovely atmosphere everyone laughing and joking .we had a great evening

We were the only customers in there at the time, quick friendly service. We didn't have any food, just drinks , pint of Banks's mild was a bit flat and too cold for my liking. apart from that nice big Olde Worlde pub 👌

We visit the Wheatsheaf on a Tuesday night to hear a the local group of friends / Musicians play Guitars, various other instruments (Sax, Keyboards, box drum etc) and sing. These Guys (& Girls) are really talented and make it a brilliant atmosphere. 100% recommended! Night is assisted by the excellent Banks's Original (it's Mild to me) and the Guinness. Friendly landlady and bar staff. Both my wife and my friend's wife now join us for the session! We look forward to our Tuesday night at the Wheatsheaf - Long may it carry on!

We had a cycle meet with 145 at least present sadly only 2 bar staff!! Also no diet lemonade for a diabetic!! And brioche buns full of sugar again so a.diabetic couldn't eat!! Yeah not going back any time soon sadly

Great staff, sensational pizza!! Loved the games to entertain the little one too.

My boys organised a surprise 50th birthday get together with family and friends for my wife, the staff were fantastic all the way through. They set up the bar with banners and balloons my boys provided and the room looked great, they put some food on for us too and the selection and quality of the food was fantastic, everyone loved it. The pub has a lovely traditional pub feel and a warm welcome. I will be using them again for future events.

Very characterful old wooden beam pub. Sometimes locals meet up to jam and play music in the bar and practice new tunes wonderful.

Not so good as desperately needs a refurb . Very run down ..

Nice little pub in Shifnal town, serving amber nectar that would please the average connoisseur. With a great atmosphere, I recommend that any thirsty travellers passing should give this place a try! I'll definitely visit again soon! #carleasingguy recommends.

Friendly, great music and good selection off drinks, dog friendly place

Great 'drinkers' pub with friendly licensee and staff. Recently suffered from a cynical Marstons price hike, but still competitively priced on most drinks. Dog friendly too, so a handy stopover for anyone walking in the area.

Attend here 2 weeks ago for few pints with a pal of mine was nice and cheap and very quick service. Only down side pub inside isn’t massive

Hadn't been in for years, but I managed to go out and I thought it was really nice, a friendly atmosphere, and the landlady even gave my little girl some crayons and paper to keep.her occupied.

The beer we were served was off we took it back and they couldn't care less didn't even try to rectify it. Expensive too.

Great atmosphere and great landlady can't do enough for you

Drove past the Wheatsheaf Inn on Monday 12 April 2021 , the first day of the new regulations. The Wheatsheaf has opened for outdoor drinkers with new covered seating ( like open fronted tents ) at the tables in front of the pub.) Visited the Wheatsheaf Inn on Thursday 23 May 2019 for the first time in over ten years. We had a drink with a local friend at a table in front of the Wheatsheaf in the sunshine. The Wheatsheaf has a small car park for about ten vehicles on the left-hand side of the building. The vehicles have to park at right angles to the road and the Wheatsheaf. The Wheatsheaf has been 'improved ' greatly since our last visit. We had a half of Banks Mild for £1.70 (£3.40 a pint) but it was very average with no real taste.

Just had our Sunday lunch delivered . We can highly recommend the service and food supplied. First class . We will be back . Cheers Brian.

Simply the best! Real ale here is the best in Shifnal an a great friendly atmosphere. The food was excellent quality an decent value. Great pub for a romantic evening with the Mrs or a family meal.

I went to the acoustic night. The guys were really friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. It felt like being in your living room chilling out with your guitar. The regular players are encouraging whatever your level.

Been here a few times now, nice atmosphere day or night. Good selection on jukebox. No food so no kids after 9 or we would go more often

I recently visited the Wheatsheaf with my dog (not many pubs in Shifnal welcome dogs). I found an excellent selection of cask ales for me & a bowl of fresh water for my dog. It was a lovely sunny day so we sat outside. The lady bar staff was excellent & really friendly. I will definitely return & highly recommend this pet friendly excellent cask ale pub

Small but friendly Banks's pub close to the tram stop.

Met others there, great landlord and staff, quaint old world beamed pub a good pint well kept. Will return.

Shifnal has some great places to drink and eat like Latimers, the plough, the white hart, Odfellows, Jaspers etc but sadly this isn’t one of them. Lager drinkers only as the beer obviously isn’t kept well. The new landlord I have to say is rude and unfriendly. Avoid, luckily there are much better places to go.

Great pub. New owners have made it a great welcoming pub. Good food, drinks and welcome! Bar and lounge really good. Served quickly. Entertainment on Saturdays good

4 of us went in here for Sunday Lunch. It was a disaster. Beef was that tough you couldnt cut it let alone chew it. Veg was surpose to be a variety of fresh veg it was 6 slices of frozen carrots and a few frozen green beans. Roast potatoes were warm, soft and no taste again frozen. Served with yorkshire pudding which was stoggy. Surpose to be home made. When the chief came out to ask us if our meals were ok we all said no, told her why only for the respose to be "That has not happened before" will definitely not be visiting again.

Lovely staff, v.friendly locals. Excellent regoodal beers, v.good food, very good value - like much else in this lovely town!

Went last night and am pleased to report that the beers are as good and well kept as they were when Lorna was in charge,well at least the bank's Amber and the bombadier that my son had are. The place was very busy and everyone seemed to be enjoying their drinks

Good old fashioned pub wish there were more like it

I've used this pub several times a year for the last 20 years. It does not disappoint. It's nice on a winter's day and great on a hot day. Id say I like the place just beware the ceiling is low in places lol

May not be everyone's cup of tea but I enjoy a good pint, keeps a great Banks's Bitter and other beers seem to shift as well, typical traditional pub with great jukebox and real fire, friendly bar staff
