The best restaurants serving British food in West Midlands

£14 for worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. Basically a goldfish in batter it was that small. Place filthy, and whatever you do, don’t look up at what’s on ceiling and fans above you. First and last time eating here. Go to the pub next door for food!

If English Architecture and History are your thing, then this is just the ticket. Its a wonderful 17th Century Building with all of the quirky charm that goes with that. If this is owned by The Donnington Brewery then it is a building which would hugely benefit from its owners' investment in its fabric to bring back the life it really deserves to help the landlord develop the business further. Historically, this was the place to be - the hostelry for the landed Gentry. It's full of friendly welcome from staff and regulars, great food and service. Our Breakfasts were yum! So pleased it is inclusive to our doggie family members too. All of these fantastic assets should be built on with that deserved investment. Thank you.

We called here for lunch on the 1st Monday in April ..My wife had chicken Tikka and I had all day breakfast .We had flat whites to drink. My wife enjoyed her Chicken Tikka dish with rice but my breakfast was average -with hard eggs & bacon .Very friendly staff though

Pretty dire I’m afraid All cakes looked bought in. I had a scone hoping it was the safest bet. It wasn’t. Dry. Came with one butter and the cheapest jam imaginable ( I saw the jar !) Tea ok but can’t go wrong with that right ?! Apart from the mug of tea still had the tea bag in it Staff friendly and hard working but management very poor and standard of food poor. Don’t bother

Went to Cannock branch today for breakfast,the place was freezing cold,staff and customers were complaining about the cold,no heat on of any description,breakfast went cold before we could eat it,waste of £20 .staff advised us to ask to speak to management,as nobody listens to them,could,nt be bothered,could not wait to get out of the store and get home to some heat,to cold for anyone to browse in store and spend,so sales must suffer when that cold.

Visited with my Aunty she wanted a toasted sandwich, I wanted pancakes from the breakfast menu, she was told she would have to wait for 10 mins as they were serving breakfast, I went to order and was told breakfast ordering had finished, I was a bit put out as about 5 mins before 4 men came in and had ordered breakfast, we both felt me and my Aunty that the staff seamed like they didn't want to be there, they seamed rushed off there feet and took ages to serve people there was hardly anyone in there, my Aunty and me both agreed we would nt like yo see the staff managing when the cafe was busy, there is hardly anything for adults to do at Hatton craft center it used to be a real treat to go up there and look around the shops but now it's dead when we visited there was only the garden centre and Christmas shop open, the highlight of the visit would have been going to the cafe but even that's disappointing and expensive

El servicio fue horrible después de una espera de 40 minutos, el servidor vino a la mesa y le preguntó qué habíamos pedido, ya que se había olvidado. Vergüenza increíble en la gestión de un buen nombre británico en el pan! ! ! !

Tried the festive toastie for £4. Turkey cranberry surfing and cheese. I could not eat it !! The margarine used was awful. The turkey was processed. Very cheap and greasey tasting. I do not usually leave food or make a complaint. But due to this experience I felt I need to put pen to paper so to speak. Maybe in in the future just sell a festive sandwich with proper turkey and good quality butter or margarine.

Sania helped me over the phone. I am from London. Wanted to order a cake for someone. She helped me every step of the way. Great asset to the company and amazing person. Thank you so much sania. Great human being.... :-)

Had the displeasure of having a takeaway from here as missis loves your duck ... but alas that's where it ends I ordered salt and pepper chips .. your chef hasn't got a dam clue what the he'll he is cooking... zero red chilli's zero green chilli's zero salt zero pepper ... basically a portion of frozen chips with a couple of onions thrown into pan ????? Really ??? Ended up in the bin where it belongs disgusting ... had chicken egg foo yung .. again hardly any chicken dry disgusting ... this place seriously needs to up its game as this good is total trash

Went for lunch ordered fish finger sandwich a chips. 6 of us in total, toasted sandwiches that the rest of group ordered looked delicious and also the jacket potato. I waited and waited, eventually my lunch arrived minus the chips I had ordered. The young man who bought my sandwich told me they were still in the oven. Tucked into my sandwich, but was disappointed to only see two fish fingers instead of three? Was it still in the oven? Then 10 minutes later Chips arrived, hot but undercooked, no fish finger, staff seem to have one speed which is SLOW. My advice is go somewhere else for lunch.

I have visited this establishment on a couple of occasions and both times the staff has been very friendly, coming to the table to take the order, but the food has been very slow to arrive and was of a poor standard, not hot (just tepid). The staff didn't come to check if everything was OK and when I commented on the food I was told "well if you had let us know we would have done something about it"> Come on Guys, how about you check with your customers if everything is OK and then act on it if not. I will not go back.

Solo fui porque mi aplicación Vodafone me dio una bebida caliente gratis y un rollo de tocino o salchicha. Los rollos estaban en el mostrador y hacían ping en el microondas durante unos segundos. Presumiblemente rollos blancos y tocino previamente congelados de origen desconocido. El café estaba bien, pero el rollo era solo comestible. No se ofrece azúcar ni ketchup, y ninguno es visible en ninguna parte. Las salchichas se veían bastante asquerosas. No pagaría por nada desde allí.
