Went for lunch ordered fish finger sandwich a chips. 6 of us in total, toasted sandwiches that the rest of group ordered looked delicious and also the jacket potato. I waited and waited, eventually my lunch arrived minus the chips I had ordered. The young man who bought my sandwich told me they were still in the oven. Tucked into my sandwich, but was disappointed to only see two fish fingers instead of three? Was it still in the oven? Then 10 minutes later Chips arrived, hot but undercooked, no fish finger, staff seem to have one speed which is SLOW. My advice is go somewhere else for lunch.

Lovely breakfast. However had to run to the toilet 30 mins later and I will leave you guessing as to what happened in there. My son at home now and feels sickly. My tummy is burning. Won't be returning.

The service received today the 16 May 2023 was disgusting!! The girl in the counter was serving alone, this isn’t right especially at lunch time so she was doing drinks and the till, although the queue wasn’t to busy she was coping ok, but her service was disgusting didn’t look up once , no apology for the wait , I was told sarcastically to scan my nectar card if it has a decent barcode as it wouldn’t scan, no manners used no please no Thankyou , she said this under her breath though again in a sarcastic manner, once she had taken our order the gill was slammed shut and she proceeded to make our drinks i went to sit down , there was still crumbs on the table!! Which I cleared myself while another staff member watched me do it , once food was brought out by a different member of staff who was just as rude didn’t say anything at all, slammed the dinner in front of my son and walked off!! The food was ok not the service not like it used to be at all

Without exaggeration, the breakfast we enjoyed here this morning was absolutely cooked to perfection. Toast arrived already buttered, superb sausages, tasty lean bacon and all other ingredients cooked with care just hit breakfast perfection. Everything was delicious; so much so we asked to speak to the chef to convey our compliments. Despite her ill-mannered colleague inconsiderately barging into the conversation so rudely, it was a pleasure to meet lovely young Kerry. Making her debut at Sainsbury's today with an impressive start. She was a really lovely girl who truly cooks a terrific breakfast.

I must admit it's been quite a while since we have been to Sainsbury's cafe in Rugby. We wanted a reasonably priced meal so decided to try here. Well so wished we hadn't bothered. There was only a choice of 4 meals, fish & chips, sausage & mash, ham, egg & chips or jacket potato. The lady serving said they were short staffed. We went for ham, egg & chips with bread & butter. When it arrived the ham was obviously from a packet (2 slices), the 2 fried eggs were hard and well chips are chips, ok. It wasn't bread & butter but bread & margarine. Each meal was £6.60, not worth the money. We were very disappointed. The place always used to be busy but today was nearly empty. Would not recommend

Definitely going down hill No coffee machine for weeks now, 2hrs to closing, no food in chiller, one choice for kids drinks, not enough staff on front counter leading to long wait, the one member of staff taking orders, toasting food, making drinks, on a previous visit the same member of staff, telling people half hour wait for food, stopped taking orders, café was virtually empty and our order was within 15min, they just wanted to clean up early and close

I’ve been going to this cafe for a long time with family and friends. It was an absolute god send of a place to go and have a coffee and food whilst my children were in explore learning, however since COVID, the opening times are too short and I find I’m unable to use the cafe for that purpose anymore as it’s shut at the critical time that id need it to quickly feed my kids after their after school clubs (some kids in the area don’t finish school until 6pm and the cafe shuts at 5pm now) or to wait for my children during their session. This is a big shame. It’s also never quite been the same since they put up a screening on the balcony windows above the store. I’m guessing they didn’t want people shopping overlooked by people eating or something but it makes the atmosphere feel a little more crammed in and awkward. Not as pleasant as it once was albeit I’m sure I’ve found fault before. There are a choice of seating types. I tend to go for the softer, lower down seating option if just having a coffee or similar, but use the normal tables & seats if having a meal. There are plenty of seats available but sometimes you do need to ask for the tables to be cleaned. There is room to put your trolley, nearby toilets, stairs and a lift which are good points. The teacakes are really nice so I recommend those! Other food is ok. I have sent some food back, but equally I’ve had some lovely food. It’s a bit hit and miss but it is convenient for those of us in the area who want food but find ourselves in a position where the area lacks options of places to eat with children. Staff are generally friendly. A bit slow but you don’t mind so much when they are nice. They often run out of food and tend to keep a list by the till of what they don’t have left which is a real shame and not so great if you have a fussy child who only wants a certain thing that they don’t have. But there are many options available so defo a third world issue. The food quality is lesser than it used to be. Not quite sure what’s happened there but we had found the food to be what we would describe as from the ‘budget’ section. Not that it was ever 5* quality, but we have noticed a decline in quality and availability of cooked food. Coffees, etc are average. Not quite a costa but not a horrific drink either. Perfectly acceptable. You will obviously find the food cheaper to buy in the shop itself than in the cafe. Overall it’s a convenient cafe which I would use again. However, there has been a decline and the opening hours being shorter has had a significant impact on parents and children who use Explore Learning being able to use it. Would be great if it could stay open later again for that purpose. I didn’t even mind the fact they started clearing up around us whilst we drank our coffee. Even keeping open a small section for coffee for that purpose would be useful. It was just nice to be able to go in, feed the kids, chuck them into Explore and then sit back in the cafe with a coffee and cake... or cheesy chips!

We carried out a post Christmas shop and decided to have lunch in the Cafe. There was no sandwiches or Pannines as delivery was not due unit next day. My wife ordered the turkey baguette and I a sausage sandwich as I was told vould not have a sausage in a baguette? When the two dishes finally arrived the turkey was the thin sandwich turkey and the sausages small, thin and tasteless. So disappointed.

Nice spot with a good view of the store with plenty going on. The only things I've found is the time you have to wait to be served and I've yet to have a hot cup of tea always Luke warm. I think the staff are under to much pressure as there is not enough of them. They still try to be polite and kind.

Tables remained uncleared from previous customers from the time we started queuing for a coffee until we had drunk and left. Staff seemed directionless and unable to see some of the obvious problems. If you needed cutlery during our visit, then you’d have been better off buying in the store and putting them to first use in the cafeteria! Apparently any utensils are a luxury that Sainsbury’s cannot afford. This is certainly not the high standard J Sainsbury was once renowned for!

One of the worst meals we’ve had here for a while, it went down hill a few years ago then pulled itself back up but unfortunately it’s nearly at rock bottom again. Birthday meal for 3 with 2 of us having starters. Holloumi strips really more like over cooked batter strips, they were very well (burnt) over cooked all the halloumi had nearly evaporated. Sharer Nachos normally they are hot these were ice cold and not the best. MAINS cold onion rings on the “super” specials hunters chicken, the chicken was chewy but hot and had hardly any sauce on (luckily they have bbq sauce as a sauce) And one fish and chips, the fish was thin and the batter was soft the chips on the fish n chips were ok. Won’t be coming back for a long while again!!

Called in here while looking around Rugby for a meal and was not impressed. The food was not very appetising and the service was mediocre. The food was also overpriced for the quality. The place itself needs a makeover. Not considered value for money.

Take Notice.. Burgers were possibly smaller than McDonald's, thin and tasted plain. Handful of chips. Coffee, tried all types and all tasted horrid. Never again. Will return for beer but not food..
