Ordered a breakfast it was absolutely awful, I sent it back and had a full refund. The young man and young lady that served me were absolutely amazing and couldn’t apologise enough.

Poor quality asked for a large extra hot latte. Had to ask 3 times for it be full and hot. Lady was very confused I felt embarrassed to ask again and left with a warm latte filled to 4cm from the top. So paid for large but got a small warm poor coffee.

The cafe is spacious and clean, but the food was very disappointing. Cold chips, a toasted sandwich barely toasted, and a warm baked potato. It all tasted very cheap, not reflected in the prices. And the coffee was awful,very bitter. We won’t be returning.

Cold carrots on my daughter's food all day breakfast tasted like it had been sat under a hot plate and the Robinson juice was a bit bitter

Was staying at Travel Lodge just across the road and decided to have breakfast here. Firstly, we had to wait a while to be served. Understand there can be problems, and it would help if staff said we will be a few minutes instead of getting on sorting things before serving. When served, it was not the best customer service. However, breakfast was average, so three stars. Should have found an independent café instead.

when we arrived we had to wait till 11.30 before we could order food as they only have the breakfast menu till 11.30 well both myself and my friend ordered me fish and chips and my wife had Jacket Potatoe with cheese my friend also had fish and chips we waited for 40 minuites for our food to arrive at 12 40 when it arrived the food was cold the cheese on my wife's Potatoe was not melting the chips were cold and the fish was warm but not hot I had a word with the girl who brought the food to the table and she told me that the bottom of the plate was hot but instead of apologizing she said again that the food was hot well we asked for our money back and left disgusted with the way we were treated and will never eat there again we were made to feel it was our fault . lesson learnt. people who came after us were served first and I think our food was left served up but left to get cold instead of bringing it straight away

Waited 35minhutes. for a cold meal then the server argued that it was ok,had a refund thanks to a good supervisor but not impressed.

Lovely breakfast at the Sainsbury’s cafe , good customer service from the young guy behind the counter, would definitely recommend.

25 min queue to then be told when I got to the front at 2pm they sold out of roast dinners at midday. Other food would be a further 20 minute wait and to top it all I just ordered a drink as I had run out of time and she made it, left it behind the counter and served the next person leaving me standing there . I spoke to the manager who just apologised but no offer of compensation for tardy service . Disappointed in Sainsbury as not what you expect from them .

Ordered breakfast with extras, once paid told no mushrooms available, offered replacement items that i had already ordered as extras. Couldn't have toast as this cost too much. Sainsbury's get your act together your shelves were full of mushrooms get one of your staff to walk over and collect some. The person serving couldn't care less no apology or acceptance that it was an issue just factual we ain't got any, and she was training a new member of staff so poor standards will be passed on.

The most miserable looking fish and chips ever. Whilst I was not expecting a gourmet experience, for the money spent I would expect better. Peas cold, chips portion size pathetic and fish batter not crispy at all

After lock down the cafe reopened. So my father and I decided to have some lunch after shopping. A long time ago this cafe was quite nice. But just before lock down it was rather grim. But though it looked OK. Omg it was disgusting. Cold poorly cooked food. Which I personally would not feed a animal. Then whilst looking at the allergen menu it did not make any sense what so ever. It said things like vegatarian might not be suitable due to the way the food is prepared. Really it either is suitable or it isn't. The poor ladies on the counter was on her own. They needed at least two more staff in the lunch time period . I know its cheapish but surely they could serve edible food.

My daughter and I have always enjoyed our Sainsbury's Saturday lunch today was our first time after shutdown well never again we had Scampie and chips it was disgusting I spoke to 2 of Sainsbury's ladies saying that our meals were not very appealing and they said it was healthy burnt oven cooked scampie and chips never again sorry very disappointed.

Visited sainsburys in Hereford today to do our weekly shopping, decided to have a coffee in the cafe, what had happened, slow service, cold coffee though this was changed for us, dirty floors this is not the cafe we always enjoyed, please sainsbury sort it out

Visited here for breakfast, waited 25 minutes for our big breakfast to arrive. Upon arrival the only hot thing on the plate were the sausages! Asked for a refund, which I received, however the customer service was poor with no real apology! I expected better from Sainsbury's!

There was only one till for serving customers, which made the queue quite long at busy times. Some of the chairs were awful with the faux leather coming off all over the place. The food was good though, it was just the environment let it down.

Great hot food to a really good standard. Much better than Morrisons, we will be back. Did not have to wait to long, around 10 minutes that is all.

I shop a Sainsbury's on a regular basis and will from time to time frequent the cafe, to either take the weight off and rest or to have a coffee with a friend. On this occasion I was with my elderly mother whom I had taken shopping. I have never witnessed such lazy staff and unprofessionalism in all my years. I was served at the coffee counter by a lovely lady (ginger hair) who was doing an amazing job, single handedly serving customers with a very large queue. As it was getting busier she requested to two colleagues to assist her, both colleagues completely refused to help, walking off and sniggering.I took a glance at the girl as she walked round the back to the kitchen area, who had a smirk from ear to ear, clearly amused at the fact she had left her poor colleague to struggle on her own.It wasn't as if this girl was undertaking another task either, she was wandering around clearly doing nothing and laughing and joking with colleagues round the back of the counter in the kitchen area. My elderly mother was disgusted. She was most upset for the lady serving us coffee who was clearly ran off her feet and doing a brilliant job in the circumstances. Disappointing as I have always found Sainsbury's staff to be happy and kind people who have good customer service. However, the 2 young girls in the coffee shop are not what I expect from Sainsbury's staff. Next time I am there I will try and get there names from their badges so I can report it formally.

We had a great full English breakfast well cooked and well presented , coffee was reasonable not to bitter but hot, nice clean tables , and a cheerful waitress

We visited this restaurant for a quick meal. We found our overall experience enjoyable and actually relaxing. Lots of space to park.

Staying at the travel lodge next to Hereford Sainsbury’s on business and suffering with a really painful frozen shoulder, I popped in early morning for a cuppa (it was handy and also one of the only open cafes I could find open before 8am) and to ask the staff at the cafe if they would kindly do me a favour and warm my wheat heat bag up for a minute in their microwaves so I could use it to help to relieve the extrutiating numbing pain I get from it. Well, very sadly (for me) I got flat out refused by a very young girl (whom did ask her chef first, so not this young girls fault) stating that their microwaves are cooking microwaves only. Seriously? Never heard such PC bs in my life. Medical emergency here! I’m now sat the car waiting for another local cafe to open, to which I’m 100% certain will assist me with this crisis.Sadly cannot tell you what the tea was like as I refused to buy it after I was let down so fiercely. Poor show Sainsbury’s.

We stay at the Travelodge and get brekky here. Options include porridge as well as the usual fried fare. Its all made to order. By the way, if you order tea, be sure to ask for a pot, or you may get a mug. Good enough!

Ok we were early mornings so not a lot to compare but it was busy the food was cooked to order though

I often use the café at Sainsburys as a place to meet friends for a catch up. It's seating is lovely, not sat on top of one another and always have a good breakfast or lunch. Handy location, lovely staff and I feel comfortable there.

After a long trip to Hereford, we popped in for lunch. My partner had fish and chips and I had Cottage pie. The fish & chips were very good, the cottage pie good but it was a small portion. I had my tea in a mug and it had scum across the top and tasted reheated. It was ok for a quick lunch after shopping.

Had the ham/egg/chips breakfast option. Very fresh and tasty, cannot fault. Cafe was very busy with a stream of customers - says it all really!

So good to review a supermarket cafe in such a positive light. Everything we needed from a quick pit stop including tasty hot drinks and excellent toasted tea cake. Well done!

It’s so sad to see that standards at Sainsbury’s Cafe have dropped to an all time low.

Went for a post-shopping late lunch. Ordered two cod and chips. Took a while to be served as they tend to be a bit slow at the till but are very courteous and explain where to find everything once you've paid. Food arrived in good time and is superb value. The cod was excellent and battered perfectly. Chips were better than your average oven-chip and decent peas too. Drinks will bump up the price a bit, but £11 for two cod and chips of this quality is a bargain.

This establishment has only a single self service coffee machine which is very slow, causing queues. Then there is more time spent waiting to pay where once again the till was slow or not working properly. It’s a pity this large supermarket company can’t be like others in the area and have real people to serve and take payment. Altogether a disappointing visit.

Went to Sainsbury's cafe as we do now and again for tea and toasted tea cake, things have changed with the pots of tea, second week of very weak tea, I duly ask young girl serving if tea had been changed she said not, I then asked if I could have another teabag as tea very quick she said there would be an extra charge if 20 pence per teabag. Such a shame about tea. Best toasted tea cake.

Pedí un megabrunch que venía en buen tiempo. Sin embargo, pedí los huevos bien hecho pero no eran. La señora sirve intentó decirme que eran así que cuando me dijeron que no eran educadamente ella disparó en un strop para ellos re-hecho. Tome 2, el megabrunch devuelve pero luego me aviso es todo frío de piedra, así que tengo que pedir de nuevo para que se la llevaran y recalentados (en este punto había perdido mi apetito). Toma tres el megabrunch vuelve de nuevo, se ve mejor pero hay un curioso sabor a la carne y en este punto yo no quiero comer. La comida aquí es generalmente buena y sé que es barato pero todavía esperamos un cierto nivel de calidad dondequiera que vayas. sigue siendo un enfermo.

Que bueno que lo abrieron temprano, discapacitados. Mucha variedad y buena relación calidad-precio. El personal era muy amable y me ayudó con la bandeja a la mesa.

Bonito y ordenado la comida bien un poco caro, pero si quieres un café o té y comida hotel cálido para mí cada uno de bienvenida y tiene argos y una farmacia

Very cheerful, helpful staff - better than in some posh restaurants I've visited recently. And the breakfast was very good too.

The food is very good, served up by cheerful polite staff, but what would you expect from Saintsbury's. However having said that, the tables could be cleared more quickly even though there are tray stations for the customers to use. One has to remember you get what you pay for.

The Young lady on the till was polite and welcoming. The food came out in a reasonable time and was hot at tasty. The cafe was clean and well kept. The sever who brought my meal was polite and helpful.

We stopped here a couple of times for a quick bite to eat on our way to other attractions in the city. The food is good, the service is great and staff are friendly.

We often pop in on a Sunday, pre-shopping for coffee and a scone or something. Customer service is friendly, although a little slow. The tables are customer cleared but not all folk clean up after themselves, so a more regular sweep by staff is needed. Does what it says on the tin, but just benefit from more table wipes to keep it tidy.

Needed a drink and a snack so opted for the cream tea. £4 for 2 has to be a bargain. It is however a supermarket cafe so won't win many culinary awards. But good for a quick snack.

Visit here on a regular basis as we live very local. Food is always acceptable but as a general rule the presentation is really poor. Eggs are mostly slopped over the top of the bacon and are either burst open or getting towards being an omelette. The staff are usually helpful and friendly but can be a bit over the top with " is everything OK with you food" just as you have a mouthful of toast. Overall can't really complain but there are improvements needed.

I often take work colleagues here for a full English breakfast before we start work on a Saturday. Always of consistent quality and not too greasy, a great start to the weekend.

Not been in this store for about two years or so. But popped in today & decided to go for a drink in cafe then had breakfast. I know it only cost £4.50 but you can still make it nice. My bacon was hard & dry my tomato was just a red blob it had been zapped in microwave till it was no more the under side of my fried egg was nearly black hard & crispy while the top uncooked sausages has stuck to pan or griddle & looked in a bit of a state beans were only luke warm my toast which were the crusts the ends of the loaf were just thrown on top of the breakfast !! my wife had the veggi option scrambled egg not mixed before microwaved so big chunks of cooked egg white did not look appealing also her big single mushroom had been cooked in the deep fat fryer & soaked up the oil like a sponge which then released it all on to her plate not nice. They say you get what you pay for !! I don't think it was even worth the £4.50 sorry we won't be returning

This is a cheap family friendly restaurant for a quick cuppa and a cream tea with friends it's nothing special but nice. Service is quite slow and the women are all miserable serving but it's cheap so you kind of ignore that!!

I don't know where to start- the slow service, the indifferent staff, the awful food? The tables were dirty and cluttered with used crockery etc. the food was awful, I'd take a guess they use their own brand economy, my friends sausages were full of fat, and the bacon was like a tasteless streak of grizzle,and the bread was thin, bland and chewy, all expense is spared here, staff miserable and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

Called in for something to eat wish we had not bothered. First of all it was a busy day and there was one girl on the counter who had not got a clue about the menu it turns out she was new so not her fault in any way just the management for putting her on her own. Well another lady came and took over shrugged her shoulders and said she's new so I proceded to order two meals and two drinks and eventually did so. Well after a long wait here comes the meals mine was completely wrong so I sent it back my father's was right so he carried on eating eventually mine reappears and it was disgusting ok it was cheap but it was rubbish also they brought sauces we had no vinegar no ketchup just brown sauce and mayo so I asked for condiments and five minuetes after finishing our meals they turned up. They really need to get their act together it was dreadful in every shape and firm.

Never ever have we had such a poor meal anywhere. It was rank the cheapest of cheapest economy food vile. The few staff working did not look happy and one older lady staff member spent over twenty minutes chatting to a friend ok but tables were messy and other staff pushed as it was busish. Would not want to visit again.

very poor sorry to say, we left the Travelodge on the morning and just wanted a snack, 1 sausage 2 rashes of bacon and an egg plus a coffee each cost over £8.20 we could have got full breakfast for another 50p but didn't want it, food was warm not hot and we will not visit there or another sainsburys for food again

Slow service would hate to have to wait for food if the drinks took this long, the marshmallows in the hot chocolate are far too big!!!!!

Had a morning drink when passing, drink was ok. I had a drinking chocolate with cream and marshmallows, it's just a normal cafe, clean and tidy

Had a roll and the bread was dry and had to leave. The Service was not too bad but could not eat the Food.

I had a prawn sandwich here yesterday and ever since I've had a bad stomach and that will put me off them for life now :( wouldn't recommend it

My partner and I have breakfast in here once a week. The service is always quick, the food is always tasty and the coffee is to our liking. The staff always chat with us and the Manager Hannah is a very friendly host!

So me and my partner decided to get breakfast in the sainsburys cafe in hereford. We both orderd a full English and sat down to eat. It wasn't immediate but about half way through our breakfast it happend..... gutrenching knotting in our stomach resulting in first my partner being sick and then secondly me. With myself working in the food industry I did notice that the heat of the dinner wasn't up to standards as I ate one of the lukewarm cardboard sausages. It didn't taste right. Also another thing I noticed was how unhygienic the staff are! A lady went from having her finger in her ear to getting a cake for a lady!!!!. I think this establishment needs a surprise visit from the food standards agency. When me and my partner finally returned from the store we drove home and immediately rang. We were questioned immediately as to why we didn't say anything then and thier.... well would you if you were being embarrassingly sick in sainsburys?... They didn't take my claim to seriously and offers me a free meal thier... wich obviously I will not be taking up!. I think this restaurant needs to re think it's staff it's hygiene it's quality of food etc. Rude! Unhygienic! 0 stars out of 5!!!

Ordered a cooked breakfast, cafe only had a handful of people in it at the time. Waited a good 45 minutes for the food to appear, and when it did they forgot the hash brown and it was only just warm. Hygiene of cutlery was awful with congealed bits of previous use stuck to them. Also the plastic spoons supplies are not big enough to reach the bottom of the cup to stir any sugar. Wasn't expecting much from a supermarket cafe, but what they delivered was sub standard.

I can not believe how awful this cafe had become, i was not expecting gourmet food but i was expecting edible food. My veggie sausage was so rubbery when i cut it it bounced on to my fathers plate beans cold and clumpy toast also like rubber but only cooked on one side HOW i do not know. It was disgusting, went to debenhams cafe and had excellent breakfast so will not waste my money at sainsburys yuck.

Place is ok but the coffee machine often seems to be broken and the filter coffee is too strong. Cutlery is not always "the best" but generally it is ok when in the area or when shopping. They seem to run out of things and be unable to get more even though you can see them in the store!So in summary, it's the best you are going to get here as there is nothing else close by.

The worst cafe ever. Its dirty, theres never enough cutlery, the service is slow and some staff are rude and seriously unhelpfull. I wonder how they pass the hygiene tests. They often cant sell coffee, (in a coffee shop!?), because the machine is broken. If you ask a staff member for something, I.e a spoon, you will often be greeted with the attitude of someone who has been inconvenienced. Avoid at all costs!

Food wasnt great - just ok.Very basic and no more.no less.The cafe needs to be designed better as it felt like i was eating in the main supermarket.Screens would be good to make it less intrusive and more private.There is only a low wall seperating the cafe from the store.Screens need putting on top of the wall.

Sainsburys Cafe is bright light and airy and serves a great variety of meals as well as the usual light bites, snacks etc. the cafe is always clean and tidy and plates are cleared promptly. There is a popular menu which is changed regularly. The staff at Hereford branch offer an excellent service and nothing is too much trouble.

Very poor breakfast everything tasted cheap like economy products not enough staff dirty table well I dont know why its so busy is it the fact its cheap would not go again

Oh my goodness, I accept dining in a supermarket is never fine dining but what we experienced was nothing less than totally unacceptable!!!! The service was rude, we were told to look a little harder to find the orange juice. Then when deciding what to eat, nothing looked over exciting, the hot breakfast food was dried up and considering it was 8.30 in the morning we found this less than apperitizing, as for the toast well if that had been in the toaster for more than 30 seconds then the toaster needs replacing, it resembled a soggy barely toasted slice of bread.My thoughts of this cafe would be stay away and look for another establishment to spend your hard earned money in.

went for a vegetarian breakfast veggie so burnt i could not cut it i think it was deep fried to a point of cremation asked fir hard eggs they were runny beans cold plate covered in oil cold coffee pepsi had ran out of syryp took ages to get another one poor girl making drinks needed at least two prople serving but i will nevet know if that happens because i wont go back roll on waitrose

We stayed in the Travelodge over the road and needed a place to have breakfast and Sainsburys was right there. There was plenty of hot and cold choices to suit all the family. The food was ready fairly quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the food, nothing special but good enough to set us up for the morning. In summary reasonable value for reasonable food.

I haven't been into the coffee shop in Hereford for ages. I wouldn't say it was the best cafe I've been into, but the food is reasonable, although the sausages were a little overcooked. The service could be a been a little bit better and I certainly wont be hurrying back, unless I'm in the area.

One member of staff doing everything, service is unbearably slow and inefficient. Also expensive. Nice choc fudge cake though.

Since Sainsburys took back the cafe from Starbucks it demonstrates why they gave it to Starbucks to run in the first place and that they should stick to supermarket trading. I have kept trying to give it a chance, but without exaggeration the last 5-6 visits over 3 weeks have left me questioning how a major PLC can allow such a poor level of offering continue to get worse without apparently taking action. A few examples are:Food offering: yesterday (31/7/13) when trying to order a cooked breakfast the family in front of me at the counter were told that there was no bacon in the kitchen so choose another item and the same for orange juice, except for the orange juice they were told to go into the supermarket and buy it and bring back to the cafe! ( I am sure that there was bacon also in the supermarket).The servery displaying food is uninspiring and half empty. There were no proper serviettes yesterday and the same today along with there being no wooden stirrers for coffee and so I was told to use a plastic straw. The staff are very slow and seem unsure of most things they do. After ordering coffee at the till the other person making the coffee, at a very slow pace, often has to ask those queuing waiting for coffee at the end of the counter what they ordered!Cleanliness - on last couple of visits I have noticed a slackening in cleaning tables and chairs. Compared with the Starbucks experience the rapport generated by staff with customers is pretty non existent - I don't blame the staff but probably due to selection or lack of training in the basics of customer service.

This is a review for the Sainsbury's cafe in colchester. I had been there before but each time in gets worse and worse. There was people everywhere trying to get different food.My daughter wanted a pizza but She couldn't because they forget to put the oven. After waiting for 20min everyone had ordered and got there food but we had to wait for my daughters pasta. There was no clean tables and all of the cutlery was dirty. After waiting for 15mins I went of to see where the pasta was. The staff who were unhelpful had forget to but in on. I will not be going back there again in a hurry.

This is our review of the Warrington Cheshire store. We had visited the sainsburys cafe on a number of occasions, we mostly found the tables dirty, the knifes and forks, which were suppose to be clean, were often still containing food, we did resort to even taking in our own knifes and forks, then the food started to go down hill very much, often cold, fish so thin and hard, very small portions for the money, 18 chips we once counted, the garden peas, sometimes, about 2 tea spoons full, often complained to the mostly, VERY UNHELPFUL STAFF, last time we complained, they redone the meal still no better, gave it the, back to do again, 20 minutes later, no meal, when asked, they said they were not doing it, and would not refund the money, went to store manager, and after an argument, and I asked why take meal away, as though were doing again for us, and say nothing, and throw it away, she said, I shall have to ask them that, she then got us another one sorted for me and may brother, it was fish, chips, and peas, this time it was better, but we spent ages sorting it out, I had not eaten much that day, and needed a meal, as I am diabetic. Avoid sainsburys cafe, it's rubbish. Go to Toby Cavery, if you can, very nice staff, and excellent quality food, and great value.

As I was working in Hereford and staying near to Sainsbury decided to eat lunch hereI thought the price looked good value, but for a company as big as Sainsbury portions were small and my burger took a lot longer to come out than other food

The service has always been slow and the coffee not very warm but today I had a muffin with my coffee and it was stale, I did ask for a refund but that not the point there is nowhere else to go nearby.Every one seems to be rushing around but the service is still rubbish and trying to pass off out of date muffins to customers is disgusting.Come on pull your fingers out and provide the service you should.

Great improvement since store has been updated and upgraded. Staff are usually friendly but service of food can sometimes be quite slow although it is at least freshly cooked to order. Overall a good choice of meals and snacks - the best of the supermarket cafes available in Hereford.

Staff disinterested - food limited, had run out of many dishes, were unable to advise what was available - this was at 13.00 - so should have been middle of lunch service.

We went to the Sainsbury's store just outside Rayleigh, Essex.I was not expecting much but we needed to have lunch after shopping at the store.We had a long road trip ahead, so we popped in for a bit to eat.As another reviewer said, it looked a bit grungy because the tables hadn't been cleared. However, the girls who served us were very pleasant and attentive.My husband had a wrap and I had soup and a sandwich. The food was very tasty and fresh.In fact, I couldn't finish my sandwich and took the rest with us. When I had it the next day, it was still unbelievably tasty and still fresh.

Having stayed at the Travelodge opposite the night before we called into Sainsburys for breakfast. Big mistake. We ordered four meat free (veggie) breakfasts. When it arrived there were no veggie sausage on the plates. When I asked where they were I was told they had run out. First, why didn't they warn us at the counter and second, this is Sainsburys, they have a shop full of produce to call on. When I pointed this out they offered to go find some and bring them to the table. Then we noticed the beans were stone cold. On the positive side the fried eggs were great.

My husband and kids call into this cafe whenever we've shopped at the store. This is for two reasons only. One - convenience. Two - the lattes are gorgeous and so are the brioche teacakes. We have taken to taking with us our own disinfectant wipes because, without doubt, we will have to clear away a table ourselves. Even when the cafe is quiet most of the tables are dirty. The regular cafe staff are the most miserable bunch of women you could ever wish to meet and I'd be surprised if they could muster up a smile between them. They mope about the cafe with the enthusiasm of a wet lettuce and the speed of a sloth. Occasionally you'll come across a friendly lady or two and you can bet your bottom dollar that they are usually on the tills. The service is slow despite a large notice telling you that your meal will be delivered to your table within minutes. I always say I'll never go back again but convenience always prevails. It's such a shame because if it were run better and had a complete change of staff then it would be a little gold mine.
