Stopped in for a nice lunch and a perfect pint of Guinness! Reasonable prices, good food. What more could you ask for!

I was quite upset with how we were greeted at the door, to be told there were no tables available, we were told it was fully booked and there was absolutely no space at all, when we had just arrived for the quiz. We checked when we got outside and there were quite a lot of slots available, at this point I really wasn’t interested anymore. Had we been spoken too a little nicer when walking in, maybe we would have considered booking and slot and going back in but at this point I had really lost interest because of rude staff. Which is a shame because I’ve heard the food is now lovely there, and also the monthly quizzes are a really nice idea

I've been to The Dun Cow on many occasions for work... Jay has taken over as G.M and has wasted no time putting his personal stamp on this already very popular and beautiful venue... Each time I've visited Jay and the team have been very hospitable and very welcoming... There is great camaraderie between the staff here, everyone pulls together to make the guests experience that little more special. -------- Photos show this building has a lot of characteristic features but the many bedrooms are also very nice.... (Next time I'm there I'll get some photos) Large free carpark and lots of outside tables ready for the warmer weather

Go to this pub a lot. Staff are very friendly. Great food and nice atmosphere. Would recommend. Apple crumble is delicious.

The place is amazing such an amazing location for weddings parties etc . We enjoyed every minute of our visit up from hythe Kent . The landlord is such a gent what more can I say just a must visit for everyone

Nat was great she works hard and makes sure you have all you need , would defo come here again and eat . Breakfast was lovely

This restaurant goes through changes of management quite frequently (as we live quite close) but from other reviews it seems the current management have been there from July so they have had time to address issues. It's been a year since we last went and it has gone downhill quite significantly. The seats are ripped and poorly repaired (coloured gaffer tape). We had two servers, one was warm and friendly the other had a t-shirt on covered in stains and didn't really give a damn that we could barely read the menus due to the lighting being so dark - presumably so you can't see how run down the place is. The chair fabric was fairly disgusting and dirty. I had the most expensive starter on the menu - the Black Pudding - and I'm fairly sure that it was so thin of slice to be translucent. No attempts were made on presentation for the kids food and we had to ask for peas that should've come with the dish. My burger didn't come with Coleslaw (not 'Slaw - we are not American) as they'd 'not got any'. The beer was awful and I didn't finish my pint of 'Proper Job'. I think I'd recommend that you wait until the next management take over as we will not be back until then either. This was previously a really good pub, but it's Weatherspoon's quality with restaurant prices.

Visited on a Saturday night, there was sport on the giant screens so it was busy at first but it cleared as the night went on. Staff were friendly and welcoming, half is a pub with a pool table and screen for sports, the other half a sit down restaurant. Outside area is big with another screen. Food came out promptly, and was as ordered. No awkward atmosphere or attitude from the regulars or staff

This is a massive improvement on our last visit. The roast was delicious! I have to congratulate the back kitchen on the beef. At these prices it is always going to be on a budget but it was cooked to perfection, and tender and juicy. Just a comment on the veg, pleae dont mix old and new, it looks awful. Staff utterly professional and friendly and nice that they were flexible and allowed us to have two children's Ice Creams! Truth is, having ate large roasts, we would not have spent on a pudding had they not taken a common sense approach - so we spent another fiver on ice cream then stayed for two more coffees each. This place is quietly doing what Toby is sometimes failing to do - I wish you well and look forward to dropping in again.

This is a pub we go to a lot for a drink & the odd meal Booked in for Saturday afternoon for late lunch with family Only 4 out of 5 meals were served after a long wait so I waited for mine rehire they had theirs I used to have the cannelloni with salad & garlic bread which was gorgeous. This time it came with chips & garlic bread but no salad & was average One of my boys had the fish & Chips but they put the tartare sauce on the plate rather than in a separate pot which he wasn’t happy about I’ll stick with having a cheese cob with my cider as the food is really not worth the money so I’ll go elsewhere It’s a crying shame because it used to be lovely, I can only guess the chef has changed & he can’t be bothered I do not recommend eating at this pub 🫤

The drinks and atmosphere was lovely as we sat outside in the sunshine enjoying our drinks HOWEVER - the staff can really do with cracking a smile whilst providing customer service. The 2 ladies I was served by just looked at me when I said ‘can I order please’ they literally stared me in the face and I froze thinking have I said something wrong?! They then nodded their head to tell me as in ‘I’m waiting for you to order - speak!’ She told me to wait outside and she’ll bring the drinks out, when they came out she spilt the ice on my friend’s leg, no tissue offered. Awful customer service and they all really need an attitude check.
