Excellent Sunday Lunch! We had pork and Beef larger and smaller size. All were excellent. Succulent meat, beautifully carved and excellent crackling! Potatoes and vegetables all faultless- five veg including cauliflower cheese. Great value for money too. Drinks nice and cold. Excellent staff. Hit some balls on the range afterwards- perfect Sunday! (Clubs available to borrow if you don’t have your own including junior ones)

I come here regularly on my own or with friends. All the staff are without fail super friendly, efficient and go the extra mile. I cannot recommend it highly enough. They are always so friendly and smiley and make everyone feel welcome. Lovely coffee and food. Nothing too much trouble.

30 years ago on a holiday in California I sampled, what I’ve always considered to be the best Cinnamon Bun I’ve ever eaten at the Fire Station Bakery just outside San Diego. Well finally my benchmark bun has been bettered. Today I had what can only be described as Cinnamon Bun Nirvana. A fluffy, pillow like swirl of soft, yeasty dough that uncoiled to deliver Cinnamon and sugar heaven in every mouthful. This was topped with a gorgeous dollop of golden butter cream frosting that wasn’t overly sweet but delivered big on vanilla and creamy butter. As Arnie said, “I’ll be back” 😋😋😋😍😍

Today we had Christmas Lunch at this wonderful place. The food served was beyond expectations. The service was second to none, and the surroundings said Christmas. The staff that served us were attentive, polite and superbly turned out. Young people tend to get a bad press, but these young people were a credit to the pub. We have already booked again for Christmas 2025,as we know we will not be disappointed. Thank you Sean and all your staff for a great day and making our Christmas special. Peter Taylor and Janet Hobbs.

We had dinner and spent the night at the Devonshire Arms, Long Sutton. Top notch place - friendly and efficient service, well chosen menu and delicious cooking, plus comfortable room. In a less frequented but beautiful part of Somerset. Definitely recommended - give it a try!

Had dinner here last night for the first time in over a year, what a fabulous and much improved experience than before. It’s always been good but now up a level, cookery and flavours really well done. Ambience & service excellent as always and really good to see the place so busy on a Wednesday evening Top marks to Phil, Sheila & team

Went to the george for a family Sunday lunch on 16th Feb. We had to pre-order a week in advance, so we had then menu and we ordered, but a few days before we got there, they changed the meat choice we ordered belley pork, and we got a loin of pork. And the pork was overcooked and dry. the Turkey didn't taste nice at all. The potatoes had too much seasoning. (Hope they check all these things for allergies) They veg was just looked like throw in a bowl,no presentation.and not that hot. Why put red cabbage under the meat as lots of people dont like it. Had to ask for extra gravy, asked for apple sauce, and was told it was on my plate. The best thing was starters and dessert.

Mothering Sunday We booked here after seeing the website and sample menus Basically, the sample menu and actual have little similarity The pub is basically not trading No draft beer , lager No sparkling water etc Having come thru the hospitality troubles and lost a business I know how tough it is But be fair on your page state limited options Remain polite, and remember the customer can make an informed decision as we did and left before we ordered as frankly having seen some food going out thought it was not to our taste One last point, decency when addressing customers costs little, an off hand rude attitude in a market where other choices exist is not acceptable Much to be improved

Visited for a weekday lunch and will definitely be going back soon! Service was fantastic, we were looked after by a very funny and friendly lady who made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent, probably the best pie I’ve had for a long time and everyone else in our party said similar about their meals. Good beers too, and a lovely atmosphere.

Popped into this welcoming little cafe having been turned away from a cafe in Broadwindsor as dogs not allowed in. We were both covered in mud, with very muddy boots and an even muddier dog but no fuss was made and we were quickly served with a delicious cappuccino and a hot chocolate. We followed this with an italian toastie made with homemade focaccia, mozzarella, tomatoes, peppers served with french fries and a coronation chicken sandwich on wholemeal bread with salad side - both were absolutely delicious. The cakes looked delicious too, sorry now we didn't bring some back with us!
